Reporter – AJ – what does the offense need to improve on?
AJ – passing
Only difference between last year and this year is the shitty play of the offensive line.
Last year this sub wanted to fire Kellen Moore.
my year is gonna depend on how trevon diggs handles cooper kupp cause this defense gives me anxiety every time we play a team with good wrs.
Fuck me if replace the middle part with Brian Johnson and it’d trigger PTSD
I’m not saying our offense doesn’t stink right now, but the way the defense played last night I never felt uneasy about the outcome. I will not let Kevin Patullo interfere with my enjoyment watching this team!
I said this in another thread but this felt like the first time this season that Kevin was not the problem with the offense, last night was almost entirely player execution issues. The O-Line couldn’t stop committing penalties on 1st downs that actually got us into either a new set of chains or in great position on that set. Jalen was off on his deep ball, I’m not sure if that was Jalen having a bad day or him trying to put more on the ball to counter the wind led to the overthrows.
Us not being able to get a TE2 who is actually a positive blocker at the deadline might really come to bite us in the ass. Without our blocking WR and without our FB we just lack depth of good blockers on the outside, especially when Lane goes down. At this point i think we should just rest Lane and Cam as long as possible because they both clearly rushed back to playing and it was not the correct call. I get our schedule is brutal, but at some point we need prioritize having those guys healthy for January and February not November—made this same argument about us rushing Landon back to start the season.
Kevin did a much better job trying to engineer good and easy looks for AJ as a YAC target this game and we had explosive run designs called back all night for bone headed holds away from the play by the line. Kevin’s had some truly brutal games, but last night was on the players not executing, it wasn’t on Kevin
So I should stop bitching about Patulo, CB2 and Calcaterra and start complaining about the O-line?
I am almost out of someone to blame!!
Seriously, I have been saying all season that the o-line and run game is trash this year. Injuries, poor execution, Barkley not hitting holes with the confidence he had last season and opponents locking into what we did last year to be so successful are all factors.
I was saying this to one of my friends but I think last night kevin, while a problem, wasn’t the problem (which for him is a step up).
If we execute like we did in most of the year… we win that game 20/24 to 9 and we complain about only KP.
Last night had a lot of drops, a lot of procedure errors, a lot of mental errors that typically doesn’t happen.
This is the stretch where we need to fix the procedural stuff and get momentum as we get to the playoffs
It’s wild people on here were like “calm down we’re 4-0” when people who actually watched the games could you this offense is going to sell if the defense isn’t cooking. Idk how hard it is to scheme so many talented people open. A 12 year old playing Madden could tell you running mesh against man and short to medium crossing routes will free up our receivers immensely even in X and long situations. Look at the td j.williams scored for the lions it just breaks my mind that we cannot do the same and instead do some bullshit comeback routes every time we’re in a passing situation. He wasn’t the entire problem last night but he was surely a major one again
Players just straight up dropped like 4? 5? passes in the first half. Some of them big plays.
But, that said, Patullo still may be the least creative OC in the league.
Jalen made some absolutely dog shit throws too, looked like he was injured the couple times that he was hit. Very slow to get up.
Nice work, this meme needed a facelift badly.
time to replace the boy am i excited part, maybe with something like “do i have enough beer to get through this”
This is much better.
Nothing new just another win from a team that only wins. feel free to coat self in oil and light match Philly fans.
Go birds
I just keep telling myself, we’re saving it for the playoffs. The unread playbook pages
This defense wakes up every day at 5am to put a roof over the offenses head and then they get home and the offense is drunk sleeping on the couch.
The fans are watching it all unfold from the sidelines and begging them to stay together for the kids.
