“A Complete Meltdown”: Jaguars Fade Late in Heartbreaking Week 10 Loss | Jacksonville Jaguars

[Music] Welcome to Rapid Recap presented by Dreamfinders Homes, Kyani Stevens, Bucky Brooks. We’re in Houston. Digor had a 29-10 lead going into the fourth quarter and unfortunately that’s when the Texans got hot and they lose it late as the Texans just went on a run. I can’t even say they went on a run, Kai. It’s one of the more disappointing games that we have witnessed personally in this capacity. Just a complete meltdown when you’re up 19 points with a minute left in the third quarter. game should be on easy street. But unfortunately, a team that prided itself on playing great complimentary football didn’t play complimentary football. We talk about the defense being on the field for 33 plays in the fourth quarter. The offense only having nine offensive snaps where you’re in four-minute offense. You’re trying to run the clock out. So, as much as everyone wants to point to the defensive failures, the offense also hurt. And so, it’s a complete total meltdown and one they have to address in film. Yeah. I mean, we saw three and outs on all of the Jaguars possessions on offense late. So when you look at something like that, I mean, they got some help with special teams from Parker Washington, but the offense still hasn’t found a way to fully be successful for four quarters. Yeah, it’s it’s really disappointing in terms of this is a team that wanted to pride itself on being a physical run first football team. And to win the National Football League, you have to run when everyone in the stadium knows that it’s running time and that’s the fourth quarter. And in that fourth quarter when you need to turn it out, you couldn’t. Three and out, three and out, three and out. Like that’s on everybody, not only the play call up, but the offensive line, the running backs, everybody have to finish that out. We can talk about the defense pass rush falling apart, coverage giving up big plays, the penalties, but at the end of the day, when you’re up by that, your offense has to close it out when they have an opportunity in the fourth. Tough one here in Houston. We’ll see you next week back at home against the Chargers.

The Jaguars got out to a hot start but couldn’t finish off the win in Week 10. Late offensive inefficiency, defensive fatigue and untimely penalties led to the collapse in a 29-36 loss to the Houston Texans. The team will look to correct their mistakes and rebound in a Week 11 home game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

  1. I think everyone that's gonna come here just to trash Trevor is a counterproductive bum. I'm not going to defend his performance that hard given that he is a #1 overall pick, but I see him as very hot and cold. When he's good he's great, and when he's bad he gets in his head and doesn't perform well. I think him and Coen deserve more than one year to sort this offense out, given the massive improvement we've seen already over last year. It's just time to get precise and clean it up in the larger scheme of things and not just rely on a game winning drive just because that's worked in the past. But as fans let's also be consistent, it seems like whenever we win a game Trevor can do no wrong and whenever we lose, he gets trashed harder than anyone else in the league. Today stings for sure but we're not out of this season yet as long as the team keeps the ball rolling and doesn't let the haters get in their heads. God bless

  2. The defense did hurt us late, but this game is on the coaching and the offense! A $275M QB has to make everything around him better! It’s that simple! I dont want to hear it! Just like they let TC, JHA & TL need to go right along with him! Balke got 2 1/2 things right PW, Brenton Strange, & Cam Little. Everything else he touched must go!

  3. I bet none of you guys bashing one player for a whole team that made mistakes can’t even go out there and do any of the things they are doing. Nothing you say on here hold weight, keep talking while sitting on the couch, or stuffing your face, or whatever it is you’re doing. If you’ve never played just spectate because that’s all you’ll ever do. 😂

  4. I think they need to make a change on the O-Line and/or D-Line, I don't know how they can let that performance happen and not make some kind of change to show that bad play leads to consequences. It definitely seems like a D-line or secondary move at FA would've been ideal, good to see Meyers some but the offense as a whole needs to improve.

  5. I think anyone who believes in this organization is fooling themselves. As a unit, we’re a below average organization. I said 7-10 in May. We’re not winning more than 2 games from here on out. Prepare for the draft.

  6. To all the jags “fans”, when tlaw got the jags into fg range and the o lineman was called for a penalty and cost them the game was that on tlaw as well?🤡

  7. Trevor was ABYSMAL today, instead of being the reason why we Bury a team like the Texans without Stroud … This Team and the word "Playoffs", don't belong in the same sentence, so let's not go there!!! Outscored 26-0 in the 4rth quarter was the biggest meltdown in Franchise History! We need a real Leader or real Leaders in the Locker room to step up and ensure stuff like today doesnt happen!!

  8. This game was lost when they went for 2 at the end of the 3rd and didn't get it; yet rubber met the road with 6:20 left in the 4th when they called a pass play on 3rd and 4 from midfield, which was incomplete. They should've stuck with the run game and committed to 4-down territory to get the win. Of course, I'm just Monday morning quarterbacking; yet those were my thoughts live action. Liam has proven to be self-destructively predisposed to abandoning the run game… Hopefully he gets that corrected.

  9. THIS Franchise is the most "God-Forbidden," "Snake-Bitten" organization in the history of the NFL… There will NEVER be as much as a 3 year stretch of success with the Jaguars. I've learned to ACCEPT IT….

  10. #6 Newsome CB hurting the defense not aggressive sticking his nose in there. VERY OBVIOUS. WATCH VIDEO, FOLLOW HIM. MANY FAKE LIKE TACKLING ATTEMPTS!!! TEXANS WENT HIS WAY SUCCESSFULLY MANY TIMES RUNNING. NO UPFRONT SUPPORT FROM NEWSOME. THIS $#!+ EZ to see. Get us someone hungry and healthy!!!
