🚨Miami Dolphins RUMORS Heading Into NFL Week 11 Ft. Mike McDaniel, Anthony Weaver

[Music] [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] [Applause] [Music] What is up Miami Dolphins fans? Hope you’re having a fantastic Thursday and are ready for the weekend. This is Dolphins Today by Chad Sports. I am Nick Rolloloff. Appreciative of everybody coming and spending some time on their Thursday to hang out with us here as we are looking forward to NFL week 11. The Dolphins are currently in Real Madrid, Spain ahead of their game against the Washington Commanders early on Sunday. Is that not right? Are we in Madrid? We are in Madrid. We are not in Real Madrid. No, I think it’s the same thing. That’s the same. I mean, yes, theoretically they are playing at Real Madrid stadium. That’s in Real Madrid. However, they are practicing at Athletico Madrid’s practice facility. We’re in Real Madrid. We’re in Madrid. You stopped till my whole monologue just for that. We’re in Madrid. We have to be correct. Something. No, I am correct. No, you’re not. I am. There is no such city as Real Madrid. It’s Madrid, but it’s the Real Madrid. Ridiculous. Who cares? Who cares? We just We We have to strive for accuracy. Okay. If there’s one graphic mistake, you will hear it first. No doubt. And I admit that. And there might be. I’m not going to sit here and say it’s 100%. You will hear it from me. What’s up, boss team? Shout out your city for me down in the comments section. Where are the real ones watching from? Got 100 people in the building. We got BR in kiss, Florida. Mbappé plays for Real Madrid. That is correct. What team has he not played for? I feel like he’s everywhere. Only PSG and Madrid and France. Tampa from Ryan. What’s up, Hector in Pennsylvania? Stupi in Germany. Stupai, did you enjoy the German game in Munich this past weekend? I believe it was in Berlin. Was it? No, I’m I thought it was in Munich. I think they did play a game in Munich this year, but I believe this one was Berlin. I’m never saying anything about anything outside the United States again. We You need to You need to travel the world. No, I don’t. Got everything I need. You don’t want to go to Italy? The one place I want to go though, your girlfriend, she’s going to want to go to Europe at some point. Maybe. I don’t know. You won’t go with her. We’ll see if we if we’re currently if we’re dating at that time. I hope you are. We’ll see. Daytona Beach, Florida for Nate Brown. Irvine, California for Wasim. Maine for Reagan. That’s dope. South Wales, UK for John. Saucy says homestead Florida. I don’t watch a lick of whatever that sport they call is the last soccer game you watch. The one with me. Correct. Is it actually? Yes. That’s hilarious. Sport. Why would I watch that? Uh it’s the biggest sport in the world. If it doesn’t count for the like one minute I actually sit down and watch a game. I only watch FIFA World Cup. For those of you that don’t know, I put soccer on in the mornings before our Sunday uh pregame show and the second Roly walks in the studio, he turns it off. Yeah, because no one cares about that sport. Ridiculous. I just I’m not doing it. I’m not doing it. My girlfriend just texted me. Odds that she just happened to be tuning into the show and hear that. Uh, I hope not. First time she texted me all day. So, let’s take a look. Did I just get in trouble, folks? No, it’s not. Nice. Tell Morgan hello. Yeah, she’s looking for a job here now. Oh, yeah. Yeah, she’s officially started that look. And the text was, “Where is Lewisville in comparison?” Oh, Lewisville, right by my hometown of Flower Mount. Yeah. Unfortunately, that is what probably 30 minutes away. 30 minutes away. 30 minutes away. What’s that place? Lake Lewisville. Is that the same place? Yeah. Well, with traffic like what? It’s probably 45. Well, the city of Lewisville is like 15 minutes south of Lake Lewisville. Okay. So, it’s closer. So, Lake Lewisville is 45. Louisville, correct? Ah, all right. There we go. Guys are talking soccer. I don’t like this. Talk football. What’s your confidence level in the Dolphins winning on Sunday? I have news for you. What? It is football. No, it’s No, it’s not. That’s the most ridiculous thing of all time. My confidence level in the Dolphins winning this Sunday. It’s It’s probably irrationally high. I think it’s like an 87. I actually agree. My friends were talking betting in our group chat. I I might Yeah. Like if I were a betting man, I’d lay a whale on and my friend went said he put in his parlay Dolphins minus two and a half for the weekend. And some of my friends were calling him stupid. I was like, “Betting US currency on the Dolphins? What are you thinking?” And I’m like, “Are you guys morons? Do you realize how bad the Washington Command are? They have the second worst defense in the NFL. It would be the worst bar none if it wasn’t for the Dallas Cowboys atrocity. They’re playing Marcus Mariota at quarterback and they have no Terry McLaren. Miami playing good football over the past month. They’re two- in their last four games, two and three in their last three games. The defense has been a top half unit in the last month of the year. Miami should absolutely hammer the Washington Commander. They should kill them. I mean, look, there no Jaden Daniels. Terry McLaren’s not going to play. They’re missing a bunch of other key guys that we showed you on our injury report earlier uh on the channel. This is a game that frankly the Dolphins have no business losing. And I know it’s crazy to say that because they’re a three- win team, but they are the better team at the moment. Yeah. I mean, both teams are three- win teams. I’m pretty sure Washington’s three and six or three and seven. Um, you said your confidence level is a what? I said 87. I’m going 94. I think that’s fair. Like I I think there’s no world where Miami loses and we we say that they’re probably going to get blown out. No. And here’s and here’s the truth, Coop. If they lose to the Commanders, it just couldn’t be more evidence that Mike McDaniel can’t be the head coach going forward because he coaches an inconsistent football team. But based off what I’ve seen over the last three weeks, which they destroyed the Falcons, they destroyed the Buffalo Bills. And people forget they outplayed the Baltimore Ravens in that first half. They just shot themselves in the foot with a couple turnovers, a couple missed field goals, a penalty. If they weren’t able, if they didn’t turn the ball over, remember they fumbled in there inside their own 20. This is true. Like, if they didn’t shoot themselves in the foot against Baltimore, I think there’s a very serious chance Miami wins that game. They did a great job in that first half. Like, I think the Commanders are the inferior team here. And I think Miami gets a pretty easy win. I would absolutely agree. $2 super chat from Wasim Khan. Shout out to you for tuning into the building. Appreciate you. Next question on the show. Should the Dolphins keep Mike McDaniel past this season? Why for yes and for no? I’ll tell you what, this is our live poll, and I’m shocked that 51% of the live poll says yes. So, it’s almost a 5050, but it 1% leans keep them. I am a bit of a Mike McDaniel truther, I think. Interesting. I just really like how he calls an offense and it that’s only part of the battle, but I do think a large part of the battle in the NFL as well is getting the guys to play for you. They clearly do play for him. Yeah, they clearly do. Now, if they go out there and lay a complete egg against a team that they should beat, that might change my tune a little bit. But if we sit here right now, I believe Mike McDaniel will be the coach next season. Yeah, but that’s not the question. Should um for the people in the chat that are saying we got to wait till the season plays out, but that’s not what I’m asking. I’m asking if you had to make a decision right now. Should the Dolphins keep him or not? I see Inferno saying yes. Arnold, yes. Nate, yes. Mike Nintendo Master in the building saying why not? Reagan says no. Mario says yes. Deedra says yes. Wasim Khan says no. Terry no. Axi no. Like listen, here’s the truth. Like I agree. You have to see how the rest of the season plays out. At this point, I would if I had a gun to my head, you have to either fire him or keep him. I’m without a second of hesitation firing Mike McD without No hesitation. Without a second. I see. I think I’m on the opposite end of the It wouldn’t take me a millisecond to answer fire. If you had to choose, right? If I had to choose. I I would choose to fire him still. I won’t be hoodwinkedked, led astray, run a muck. Run a muk. Bamboozled by a win against the Bills. It’s a big win. First time it’s happened since 2022. But like, are we really going to save this man’s job because he beat the worst version of the Buffalo Bills we’ve seen in the last 5 years. There’s something about him that I just like. I don’t know what it is. I like that he likes to talk He doesn’t like to talk Just because he strolled up to the Bills bar in Miami doesn’t make like he’s three and seven. If he did that after beating him and it was a massive matchup. The Bills were six and two. Miami was five and three coming into the game and then he did that after the fact. That’d be cold ice blooded stuff. Dude, you stink. Are they three and seven solely because of him? A large part of it. There’s a large part of it. I also think there’s a large part of why this team is still playing together and that is because of him. You could do you could point to everything like everything is a good positive. Everything’s a bad. I don’t know. I don’t know. Oh man. Let’s get the likes up to start today’s show. We got about 75 people watching. Can we get to 40 likes? We get to 40 likes, we start today’s show. We need 10 likes. So, let’s hit that thumbs up icon. Let’s get to 40 likes and then we’ll get on with the show. We have a loaded show here where we’re talking a lot about the future of this franchise here. We’ll uh we have an apology form that we have to fill out for Anthony Weaver. There are some Dolphins GM rumors that we got to talk about, some Dolphins coaching rumors, and as always, we like to do a Dolphins Q&A on Thursday’s live show. So, this is what’s coming up. We just crossed 40 likes. So, appreciate everyone for that thumbs up icon. Almost at 50 likes. You guys brought it there. Appreciate y’all. Um, so if you wanna get into the mailbag, by the way, make sure you use Dolphins in your comment. I keep on seeing someone like Nate Brown is asking a question about EFAU Malafon. Good one as well. It’s a good question. use Dolphins in that Nate in that same comment and then we’ll get that on the Q&A that we do at the end of the show or you guys can super chat and that guarantees you a spot on the mailbag. So, we got some time until we get there, but just looking ahead if you want to get into the Q&A hashtag dolphins or super chat. There you go, Nate Brown. You’ll get into the mailbag for sure. But you know what? We did cross 40 likes. So, let’s get into the first segment on today’s show, which is I’m filling out an apology form for Anthony Weaver. And I think a lot of you guys also need to join me by filling out this forum. So, Coupe, let’s get into the first segment on today’s show. [Music] Folks, I’m pulling out the apology form for Anthony Weaver and this Dolphins defensive coaching staff and I’m signing it because over the last month, the Miami Dolphins defense has done a complete 180. It has gone from arguably the worst defense in the NFL. It was either them and the Dallas Cowboys to, no joke, a defense that is playing about, I’d say, top half defensive football in the entire NFL. And you have to give credit to defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver coaching these young guys up, starting to get the right play calls dialed up, as well as playing good situational football. I mean, let’s look at the difference from the first six weeks of the year to the last four weeks of the year. On the left, you see it 29 points per game, 31st in EPA per play, 31st in EPA per drop back, and 30th in EPA per rush. They were the worst or second worst defense in the NFL. But over the last four weeks, which includes games against the Cleveland Browns, the Baltimore Ravens, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Buffalo Bills, Miami has the best run defense in the NFL. Are you kidding me? That is unfathomable. If you told me a month ago heading into this stretch against Cleveland, Baltimore, Atlanta, and Buffalo, Miami would come out of that month by having the best run defense in that four-week sample size. I would have told you, you’re off your rocker, and I would like to know where your dealer is for those drugs. Instead, you are correct because that’s been the key to the defensive turnaround for the Miami Dolphins. The linebackers Jordan Brooks and Tyrell Dodson have been playing with their hair on fire, but the turnarounds from the rookies Kenneth Grant and Jordan Phillips have been sensational. I mean, look at the death murderers row of running backs you played over the last three weeks. Bean Robinson, Derrick Henry, and James Cook. And you held Bean Robinson under 50 scrimmage yards, by the way. Came into that game against Miami averaging 150 scrimmage yards. He walked out of that game with only 48. Derrick Henry still ran for a buck 19, but he ripped off like a 40 yard run in the fourth quarter when the game was already put away. You take away that run, it’s a measly 18 carries for 78 yards. Like, I’m not moved by Derrick Henry’s performance because it all basically came on one garbage time run. And then you bottled up James Cook for 13 carries and 53 yards and even made him fumble as well. You took arguably three of the top six, seven running backs in football and made them look ordinary when many around the league projected all three of them to go for at least a hundred yards on the ground against you and probably rack up a couple scores as well. Anthony Weaver needs to get a lot of credit because he’s increased the run blitzes. Miami has put a larger effort into stuffing the box, putting eight guys in that box and trusting the secondary of Jack Jones, Rousul Douglas, Juju Brent, Smeaker Fitzpatrick to not only help set the edge and contain the run, but also play man-to-man on the outside more than they were doing in the first month and a half of the season. And it’s ultimately led to better production for this Dolphins defense. But you also can’t understate the improvement from the rookie defensive lineman. And we’ll look at those numbers coming up here in a second. But I told you I pulled out and signed the apology form for Anthony Weaver for calling him a bad coach earlier on in the year. And listen, I didn’t really do it that much. I think he is a good coach. I’ll explain more here, but if you want to join me and sign that apology form, spam those memes. But the Dolphins have changed their tendencies. I talked about how they’ve been sending more people in the box, sending more people blitzing, not to just rush the passer, but to more or less commit more in the running game. Like if they believe the opponent is running the football, they are run blitzing and it has paid dividends from Miami. They have the fourth highest blitz rate in the NFL, the fourth highest heavy box rate, and they’ve increased their man coverage. The first month of the year, the Dolphins had a top five zone rate in the NFL and a bottom 10 man coverage rate. Now it’s completely flipped. They’re 20th in terms of their zone defense rate against the pass and 13th, so top half in the NFL in their man coverage rate. They are trusting their DBs to cover in man coverage more often. And it’s actually worked. Rul Douglas has been good. Jack Jones is improving. Ma Fitzpatrick moving from safety to more predominantly in the nickel has changed this Dolphins defense because he’s been able to defend in the past but also be closer to the line of scrimmage to make plays in the run game. It’s been phenomenal to witness the change for this Dolphins defense. But I do think the most credit has to be given to the Dolphins rookie defensive lineman. I mean, I was super critical of Kenneth Grant and Jordan Phillips early in the year, but let’s be honest and call a spade a spade. It was deserved that they got that type of I guess I don’t know want to call it hate, but like me calling them out because when you look at them through the first six weeks of the year, they were putrid. They were Kenneth Grant was a bottom five graded defensive lineman in the entire NFL on Pro Football Focus. But over the last four weeks, look at the improvement from the first round selection out of Michigan. And I know PFF grades aren’t telling the whole story. The whole story will be told on the All 22 on the film. You pull out the All 22 on NFL Pro and you watch it. Oh yeah, you can tell the difference from Kenneth Grant and Jordan Phillips. Jordan Phillips specifically, although his grades aren’t as high as Grant over the last four weeks on PFF, Phillips had the best game of his career this past Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. He was so dominant in the run game. And his ability to shed some of these blocks to make tackles on James Cook within the three yards of the line of scrimmage was just sensational. I think Miami really has a special good run defensive nose tackle and defensive lineman. and Jordan Phillips and you hope that him and Kenneth Grant continue to grow together the rest of the season and are ultimately building blocks for this Miami Dolphins defense. Anthony Weaver were actually speaking in the media on Thursday in Madrid said that Bonito Jones and Zack Steer have been consistent throughout the season, but some of those young Bucks referring to Grant and Phillips had to become more consistent in their technique and fundamentals and said that they have been getting better every single week. They were phenomenal against the Bills and Falcons. two teams that have top half offensive lines. The Bills offensive line coming into the Miami game was graded out as a top five unit in the entire NFL. They had one of the best rushing attacks in the National Football League and Miami made them look mortal and made them all rely on the passing game and Josh and Kirk Cousins respectively couldn’t get it done. You got to give credit to Anthony Weaver. You got to give credit to these rookie defensive linemen and you got to give credit to Jordan Brooks. one of your captains, especially on the defensive side, has been the best linebacker in football over the last month. He is as serious as it gets. He is a nononsense type of guy. He is a fantastic leader and he was a home run signing from Chris Greer. Give him credit a couple offseasons ago when he signed him from the Seattle Seahawks. We’ll look at some of his numbers and more of his leadership tendencies in a second, but this episode is brought to you by Prize Picks. The weather is changing, but nothing ever changes in terms of feeling right. And you can cash in by being right on prize picks. Get $50 in lineups when you play your first $5 lineup. Just pick more or less than at least two player stats. And if you get your picks right, you could cash in. Price fix the only app that offers stacks, meaning you could pick the same player up to three times in the same lineup. Want to go more than on Devon Hen receptions, fantasy score, and touchdowns? Well, now you can. All on prize picks by entry for the game in Madrid this Sunday. More than Devon Achan receiving yards, less than two tungalova passing attempts, and more than Marcus Mariota interceptions. I think Miami gets a takeaway. They had a couple of them against the Bills last Sunday. Download the Prize Fix app today and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. We’re really focusing here on the last four weeks of the NFL season, weeks seven through 10, because that’s when Miami’s defense has turned it around and become a unit that looks like a top half defense in the NFL. And Jordan Brooks over that same sample size, I think, has been, if you take all the metrics, all the numbers, you watch the film, has been the best linebacker in all of football. He’s the 13th highest graded linebacker in this month-long stretch. He is the second highest grade linebacker in terms of his run defense. And just look at these two numbers here at the bottom of your screen. His missed tackle rate is only 4.9%. That’s eighth best in the NFL over the last month. He has not missed many tackles. And his run stop rate is a absurd 13.8%. Only run stop rate that is higher than Jordan Brooks over the last month, Alex Singleton wore the Denver Broncos. He has been phenomenal this season and it is what real leaders do. Real leaders not only speak and lead there but also lead through actions and by example. People can go up to the media and talk about how we need to be better. I need to be better. We need to turn this around. They could say that all you want, but if your actions on the field and your actions off the field do not mirror those statements to the media, you stand no chance to actually make a difference. Jordan Brooks has not only done everything he said he was going to do in the media, on the field, and in the locker room, but he’s also dominated the NFL over the last month. And apparently Miami took away their papa shot in the locker room. Who was behind that? Jordan Brooks. Anthony Weaver on the defense speaking how they have started to turn it around a little bit here. I don’t think you ever crack the code against Josh. The one thing I can say about our guys, the team has had continued belief throughout the season and there’s been a steady climb. We’ve gotten better every single week. I think Anthony Weaver is a damn good football coach. I’ve said this for the past year. I thought he did an excellent job in his first year as Dolphins defensive coordinator a year ago. I thought that he was going to be someone that Miami would have been concerned about losing in the head coaching circle. I mean, he got multiple head coach interviews with the Chicago Bears this off seasonason as well as the New Orleans Saints. He actually was a finalist for the Saints head coaching position. Remember, he was in the final three. They ultimately went with Kell Moore. and I came into this year saying, “Hey, if the Dolphins defense has a good season, he very well may be the next head coach for a different NFL team.” I still think that is the case. I think he is going to be someone teams interview coaching search. Does he get hired this off season? I am not sure. But the way he is able to continue to have his players play hard for him, have these players improve as the year progresses, it tells me how good of a leader he is and how good of a coach he is. And I’m glad I never called him a bad coach. Make sure you are subscribed because whether it’s news, rumors, or breakdowns like today’s video, we have you covered every day with Dolphins content. We’ll be live on Sunday morning for Commanders Miami as well. So, make sure Wow. Wow. Make sure you subscribe and join us. All right. Listen, I don’t take many victory laps. That’s a lie. I definitely do. I am clearly an overreactionary guy. I wear my emotions on my sleeve. I am very happy I never went to the length to say that Anthony Weaver was a bad defensive coordinator when the Dolphins defense was horrible in the first six weeks of the year. I said that I do not blame Anthony Weaver. I blame the personnel he is having to deal with that was set up by GM Chris Greer. I was frustrated by some of the defensive play calls because I do get very tired of the edge rushers dropping out in coverage when Weaver tries to disguise a pass rush. That does frustrate me at times because it’s just like, dude, let your best pass rushers, Bradley Chub, Jaylen Phillips at the time, Chop Robinson, get after the quarterback. So, yeah, those frustrate me, but the guy is a great leader. He’s a great coach, and you’ve seen him be a good defensive play caller as well over the last year and a half for the most part. I still think he would be a good head coach. would be a good head coach in Miami. I don’t know if Miami ultimately fired Mike McDaniel this off seasonason. I would have to imagine they interview Anthony Weaver for the head coach position. Would they hire him? I don’t know. Probably not. But he certainly is worthy of an interview. And it would be a bummer to see him leave this coaching staff and organization because I do think so highly of him. And I will go on the record to say he will be a head coach before his career in the NFL is over. Don’t know if he’ll be a good one, but he will absolutely be the face of a franchise at some point in his professional coaching career. That’ll do it for today’s show. You want more in the Dolphins, go follow me over on Twitter, nick_rolloff. That is my handle. Appreciate all of y’all and hopefully I see you over there. One segment down. Do you guys believe Anthony Weaver as a head coach candidate? Why for Yes, and for him? It’s been a hell of a turnaround for the last month or so and hopefully it can continue. Look, the next three games are against the Commanders, Saints, and Jets. Should be able to put up some good defensive numbers in those games. Would agree. You should be able to slow down Marcus Morota and the Commanders. You should be able to control the game against the Saints. Reall’s a good running back. And you should be able to control the Jets. You should be. I mean, you already controlled the Jets, so Garrett Wilson was just placed on IR. By the way, that means he is officially out for the game against Miami, which I think was expected because the report came out earlier this week with Garrett Wilson that he was going to miss three to four weeks, but the reason why it was intriguing is because the Dolphins play the Jets in four weeks. They play him in week 14. So, he will miss that game. So it was like, well, if he’s out three to four weeks, if it’s the 3-week mark, well then his first game back would be against Miami in week 14. But with him being placed on IR, that means Garrett Wilson will be out tonight in week 11, next week in week 12, week 13, and week 14. So the next time the Dolphins and Jets play in about a month, Garrett Wilson will not be on the football field for the Jets. A lot of pe most of the people saying yes. Axi saying Frank Smith is going to become a head coach. Absolutely not. I I don’t think Frank Coach is a head coach or Frank Smith is a head coach. I think I said Frank coach. Yeah, I don’t think Frank Smith is a head coach and he certainly won’t be one after the season like you said. Like there’s just no world where Frank Smith is a head coach in this upcoming cycle. Lot of yeses. A lot of yeses. We’re getting some good questions in here. I think Coupe Tyson Bryant with a good question. I think this is a good question from Ryan. Tyson Bryant, just so you know, Achan and Reed were not teammates. Sauy with a good question. Nate Brown with a good question. So, we already have one, two, three, four good questions in there. continue to get their questions in to potentially get on the Dolphins Q&A at the end of the show. We’re gonna have We need some more two more segments before the mailbag. Super chat guarantees you respond in the mailbag. # Dolphins is at the discretion of Cope. I’ll make a deal for the Dolphins fans. We have a uh raffle this Sunday. It is for a if I’m not mistaken, we decided on a a Dolphins Today or a Dolphins salute to service shirt. Really? Yeah. Five extra raffle tickets heading into Sunday for whoever is the MVP on today’s show. Right now it is Wasim Khan with $2 super chat. So $5 super chat. He’s not even a Dolphins fan. Yeah. Could get you uh five extra raffle tickets on Sunday for that raffle. $5 is usually a raffle ticket. So technically right now five would get you five. Neil’s with a good question. So now we’re up to five good question. I think we have a we have five really good questions so far. We need more. We need about nine or 10. But we have a really good start with those five. We have a good foundation of questions. Nice word. You think so? Yeah. It’s pretty standard word. Yeah. All right, co. When you’re ready, let’s get into the second segment here. We’re moving quickly here on Dolphins today. Let’s Yeah, let’s do it. Has Steven Ross, the Dolphins owner, already made up his mind on who the next general manager of the Miami Dolphins is going to be? I’m Nick Rolloff. This is Dolphins Today by Chat Sports. There’s a lot of different reasons why I’m making this video, but let’s start at the beginning when just earlier this week, the Miami Dolphins made some changes inside their front office, parting ways with co-directors of player personnel Adam Ingram and Anthony Hunt. This obviously just comes a week and a half after Miami parted ways with general manager Chris Greer, who has been with the organization since 2000 and was the GM since 2016. But the reason why these parting of ways, if you will, is so fascinating is because they have been with Miami for 20 plus years. And after Chris Greer was canned, Ingraph and Hunt were the two longest tenur employees in this Dolphins front office. In was here starting in 1999 and Hunt was here in 1994. So obviously Ross or whoever is making the decisions, which could also be Brandon Shore and some of these other higher up people in the uh organization that isn’t part of the front office, but more or less part of ownership, clearly felt like they needed to clear out all of the thinking and like schematic ideas, if you will, that was associated with Chris Greer over the last 20 plus years. And Benjamin Albbright, an NFL insider who’s more locked in with the Broncos than anything, but does have sources across the league, quote tweeted that tweet of the note from Pelisero, saying that the two specific firings in the heat of scouting season tells me the Dolphins have made a decision on general manager. I’ll come out here and say right now, I find it very far-fetched that Miami has already decided who their next GM is going to be. How would they have already determined that? There’s no way they would feel confident with hiring Champ Kelly to move from interim GM to full-time GM based off the what month he’s been interim GM at this point. Not even like two weeks. He only got hired by the Miami Dolphins back in the spring. How could you feel that confident about someone in your building? And I also find it super far-fetched and hard to believe that Miami would have already made a decision on who they want to hire a GM with someone outside the building because you haven’t interviewed him now. I I I just feel like Allbright is a little off here, which has been the case at times as well. We got more to discuss, but join the channel. We’re 68 subscribers away from 77.5,000. Trying to get to 78K. Let’s get to 77.5K today. Join the channel for daily content. I mean, let’s be honest here. If the Dolphins did actually already decide on who the next GM is going to be, like Benjamin Albbright suggested, that means it would be interim GM Champ Kelly. Cuz how are you going to decide on who you’re going to bring in before you interview people in January? So, it would have to be a promotion from within. And I don’t know who else it would be outside of Champ Kelly because it’s like, well, if you’re going to promote someone else like a director of player personnel, well, why wouldn’t you have just made them interimm GM to begin with? So, it would be Champ. And I think that’s a bad idea. And this is no shade on Champ Kelly. I just don’t think he should be the full-time GM for the Miami Dolphins. I don’t like what he really did at the trade deadline. I know trading Jaylen Phillips was a popular move and I thought it was a good decision, but I would have tried to move on from Ma Fitzpatrick or a rul Douglas because yeah, the Dolphins got a win the week after, but I just don’t envision Miami being able to get anything back for them that is good value in the off season andor some of them are pending free agent. So, I don’t think keeping Champ Kelly is the best decision, but there are six GM candidates that I want to talk about on today’s show. We’ve had two separate shows outlining some GM candidates, and here in mid- November, I wanted to do a little bit of an update on how I rank potential options for Miami this off seasonason. The number one GM target/candidate that I have is Ed Dods, who currently is the assistant GM for the Indianapolis Colts. I have been very fond of Dods. He has been someone in the GM candidate space for the last like decade. It feels like he started his career with the Raiders as an intern in 2003. He worked his way up throughout multiple organizations. He was with the Seattle Seahawks for nearly a decade and then became the assistant GM for the Colts starting in 2018. And and I just like the way Dodds I think would operate. I mean, the Indianapolis Colts prioritized the trenches, and you have to imagine Ed Dods carries that same viewpoint and belief in the way he would construct his roster as a GM himself. You invest in your offensive line, you invest in your defensive line. The Colts have consistently had a top half O line and Dline since he’s been there in Indie with him and Ballard, the current GM. And I think he would bring that mentality to Miami. And it’s certainly a mentality that Miami needs as they have had one of the worst offensive lines, defensive line combinations, if you will, for the last five years plus. Number two on my list is the current assistant GM for the Los Angeles Chargers, that being Chad Alexander. I really like the rising figure that Chad Alexander ultimately is. He spent five years as the Jets director of player personnel, was a longtime scout with the Baltimore Ravens. And if you just search up Chad Alexander and read up about him, the belief across the league and really just media space on his ability and to rise to the top and be one of these top candidates. It really has come out of nowhere. Like Chargers people believe he is going to be a GM this cycle. They are already preparing for him to leave and they’re preparing to find a new assistant GM. Alexander has been a large part in that kind of Renaissance Chargers roster that they put together over the last five years since they drafted Herbert in 2020. I mean I mean I think Alexander would be a really good option for the Miami Dolphins. We got more candidates to discuss here, but pick someone. Who do you want to be the next GM of the Miami Dolphins? get down in the comment section and let me know your thoughts. Coming in at number three on my list is Alec Halib, the current assistant GM for the Philadelphia Eagles. This is a guy that wasn’t initially on my list, but after reading up more about him, reading an athletic article that we talked about last week, he is came in at my list at number three. And I wanted to share this little quote from Jordan Rodriguez of the Athletic on Halib saying, “The longtime right-hand general manager Harry Roseman, a Harvard graduate, Halib worked his way up from an entry-level role in football operations with the Eagles in 2007 to leading multiple areas within the organization, including talent identification, player evaluation, roster and resources management, and overall organizational strategy. Halib was a finalist for the Jets GM vacancy last off season. This is a person who is valued across the league, a rising young front office member, only 39. And I mentioned in that article mentioned he’s been with the Eagles since 2007, started as a video intern, was promoted to assistant GM in 2022. And not only was he someone who interviewed for the Jets GM position in 2025, he also interviewed with the Carolina Panthers and Washington Commanders for their GM position in 2024 before Washington and Carolina ultimately went with different candidates. Halib is a very intriguing guy because coming from the pipeline that is Howie Roseman, you’d have to project positive things because Roseman is the far and away thought of best executive in the entire NFL. I’m not saying Hallowe would be able to be Howie Roseman Light, but you imagine, and I said this with um Ed Dods a little bit earlier, the principles and beliefs of how you build an NFL roster and how you operate in the draft and in free agency and on the trade market would be similar, and that is something Miami would desperately need. Number four on my list is Josh Williams, the current director of scouting for the San Francisco 49ers. Another candidate that we’ve talked about quite a bit here. He started with the 49ers in 2011 as an assistant in the scouting department. And this is his first year as director of the scouting and football operations. in the quote unquote job like explanation of what he does is that he directs pro and college scouting efforts and assists in contract negotiations as well, which is obviously a large part of this job as well. It’s not just drafting. It’s not just making trades, it’s also negotiating potential contract extensions, signings in free agency. and Williams is a rising candidate who was actually a finalist for the Jags GM spot just a year ago before they ultimately went with the young Gladstone. Now, it’s interesting with Williams in that Jags interview process is that the Jagsville Jaguars made it so public like I’ve never seen him do it. They announced that they were going to interview Josh Williams. They announced they were hiring Josh or not hiring interviewing Josh Williams and then they announced on the same day when the interview was completed. very weird publication of Josh Williams’s interview in Jacksonville, but certainly a guy that other organizations thought of as a potential option. Couple more guys to get to here, but the month of November is coming to a close sooner rather than later, but don’t miss out on getting your 2025 Dolphin Salute to Service gear. Shout out to the troops. chatsports.com/dolphins salolute is the link that’s in the description and comments of today’s video. You can get hats, you can get hoodies, you can get shirts. It’s a perfect gift for yourself. It’s also a perfect gift for the holiday season approaching in December. Crazy. We’re only about what, six weeks away from Christmas. Crazy. Number five on my list is assistant GM for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Mike Greenberg. No, it’s not Greeny you see on ESPN. Same name, different person. But I really like Greenberg. Jordan Rodriguez on the of the Athletic on Mike Greenberg said that he’s been here in Tampa since 2010. assisted Bucks GM Jason Light on all things during the multiple team building pivots, including a Super Bowl roster built around Tom Brady and a continual postseason contender built around Baker Mayfield. Greenberg interviewed for the Jets GIM job in January. And I think that part that Rodriguez mentioned about the different like eras of Buccaneers football since he’s been there. Think about it. They had the number one overall pick and drafted Jameus Winston. Winston obviously didn’t pan out what most people thought he was going to do in the NFL and it really never resulted in any wins for the uh Tampa Bay Buccaneers and it was a disappointment. But then you bring in Tom Brady and you get a Super Bowl immediately because you built a really good set of weapons. Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, you were able to have an elite defensive line and pass rush with Shaq Barrett at times and some of these other studs that helped dominate the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. But then you get Brady to retire after making a couple more playoffs. You bring in Baker Mayfield and you’ve been the top of the NFC South consistently over the last three years. Like that all speaks to the organizational competency that they are consistently making the right decisions. drafting best player available whether it’s Abec Ibuka, Collia Cany, Vita, like they’ve had a really good track record in Tampa Bay of building a sound football team from top to bottom that is well balanced and then you get the quarterback play to elevate it in the postseason status. Last candidate that I wanted to talk about today is John McKay. He comes in at number six on my list. He is the current assistant GM for the Los Angeles Rams. is a really young candidate, only joining the Rams in 2016 as a scouting assistant, but he has quickly risen up the ranks inside that organization, and this is actually his first year as assistant GM for the Rams. He did serve as the director of pro personnel from 2021 to 2024. So, he does have experience in terms of managing other people inside an organization and overseeing uh a massive role inside a football team. Now, I do think it might be a little early for John McCay. I think you could tell in that photo he’s a little bit green, a little young. Um, but so is Al Calib. So, who really cares about youth? If the guy is good at their job and a rising candidate, might as well get him now while you’re searching for a GM rather than miss out on him because you thought he was too young now. You wait, you hire someone else. They stink. You’re hiring someone four years from now. Oh, but McKay already got hired and is a star because he got hired the year or two years after you. Passed on him by a different organization. So, the young and the youth isn’t really something that turns me away, per se, but I do think there might be better options out there at the current moment, and that’s why he comes in at number six on my list. Like I said on this top of the show, we will not probably see the Dolphins officially announced a GM until late January. And I don’t think Benjamin Albbright is accurate with his notion that they have already decided on where they’re going with GM. But we will have you updated on all things Miami Dolphins between news, GM search, head coach rumors on the channel. So subscribe today. Couple of candidates we haven’t talked about before. Um, no, we’ve talked about all of them. John McCay, we talked all about him on Dab. Did we go in depth on Halib before? Yeah. Remember we did our initial Chris Greer replacement. Oh yeah. Which was Dodd, Alexander, Agnu, Cunningham, Josh Williams. Correct. And then we did our updated like from that athletic article and we did insights on um Halib Greenberg um Ryan Cen from the Patriots, but I don’t really view him as an option for Miami. Um, so yeah, we definitely we talked all about those guys in depth on a previous video besides John McKay. We do so much content at the channel, you lose track. Yeah, that’s why you got to subscribe. It’s hard to keep track of it sometimes. It’s hard to keep track of it sometimes, man. It really is. Lamar Jackson a full participant tonight. Yeah, you always knew he was gonna play. I mean, fans are so ridiculous in trades. Coupe, we’ll talk. I want to talk to you. I mentioned this before we move forward. Has nothing to do with the NFL. So, I put out that those two trade ideas with the Mavericks on my social media and said, “Which one would you prefer, the Anthony Davis or the Gaffford trade?” A Heat fan goes, “The Gaffford deal, but negotiate keeping Pel Larson out of the deal.” Maybe to give them Kashad Johnson, lol. I mean, it’s not Nico you’re dealing with anymore. I mean, fans don’t understand when it comes to um when it comes to trades, it has to be mutually beneficial for both sides most of the time. Most of the time. Why in God’s green earth would the Mavericks want expiring salary and a bum for Daniel Gaffford and Clay Town? Look, I would think the same thing until you’ve seen what I seen, man. I don’t know. James Gunn officially announced that. I guess maybe he didn’t officially announce it, but uh the villain for the next Superman movie is chose chosies. All right, make sure you keep on getting your questions in. Hash Dolphins or super chat. Where are we on in questions? Cool. Let me take a look. See? Oh, we’ve got a good amount. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. I count nine. Nine. Yep. Are they all good questions? Looks like it. Oh, nice. Looks like it. Well, if that’s the case, got a super chat. We dead. When we get No, I said you got a super chat to guarantee Oh, got spot on the sack. Gotcha. Gotcha. Gotcha. And there he is having the time of his life. There he is having the time of his life. of his life. Real ball knowowers know what we’re doing. Oh yeah, I actually always forget the the sideline. Sergio dip. Sergio. Could never forget. That is right. All right, Cooperstein, let’s move on to the latest coaching rumors with the Miami Dolphins. Let’s get into it. WFAM? That’s a good question. You just have to attach the hashtag to the dolphins. It can’t have a space any so close but no cigar. Yeah, I’m turn the fan on for the final two seconds. Hold on. Um, Morgan says she applied for a job in Dallas and one in Lewisville. Yeah. Yeah. Lewisville would be a tough one. It’s a It’s a drive. I mean, imagine it during rush hour, though. It’s probably 45 minutes, probably. A lot of money $2 every day. $2 there, $2 back, $4 a day. That’s four times. Say you were That’s brutal. But if it saves you 10 minutes every day, could also be worth it. Time is money. There you go. WFAM. Good question. We’ll get that in the mail bag for sure. All right, Cub, let’s move on. Next segment. We’re talking about coaching rumors here, folks. We got some rumors in the coaching circle, and it all has to deal with these two fellas right here. Matt Lafler, the current Green Bay Packers head coach, and Vance Joseph, the current Denver Broncos defensive coordinator. And if they could be the potential replacements for Mike McDaniel if Miami fires McDaniel this upcoming off season. Well, let’s start with Lafleur because you’re going to see this and you’re going to be like, “What are you talking about, Nick? Are you dumb or are you stupid?” And I’m going to counter with, “I don’t think he is going to be fired.” And I’ll explain why. But a reporter for the Packers after the loss to the Eagles on Monday Night Football tweeted that he might be coaching for his job the rest of the season. And I wanted to read this little part of his article for you guys. The number seven seed in premature playoff exits might be good enough elsewhere, but not here. There are eight regular season games left, plus playoffs, and there’s plenty of football for the Florida Conference firstear team president Ed Policy that extending him is undoubtedly the right move. Lefur has this season in next remaining on his contract, but policy chose not to extend Lafleur before this season. policy also doesn’t want them in contract years being a decision on their futures could very well come after this season. And that is a fascinating statement there that if the Packers decide not to extend Lafleur, they likely will just fire him this off season and hire a new head coach on a multi-year contract. I do not think the Packers will fire Matt Lafleur because in my opinion, I think he’s one of the 10 best coaches in the National Football League. I understand that Green Bay hasn’t gotten the job done since he became their head coach in 2019 and they’ve had some really good rosters, including a pair of MVP seasons under Aaron Rodgers and then obviously the past couple years with Jordan Love. But I just have a hard time imagining an organization firing a head coach that has had as much success as Lafleur has had in Green Bay. But if the Packers did the unthinkable and ultimately parted ways with Lafleur, I don’t care if McDaniel runs the table and goes 10 and seven this season. you absolutely fire Mike McDaniel and hire Matt Lafleur if you get the inkling that there is even a 50% chance Matt Lafleur would want to become the next head coach for the Miami Dolphins because he is a sensational offensive mind I think better than Mike McDaniel and he is a sensational head coach as well more coming here on the flur but if you want more Miami Dolphins posts and content like reals Well, follow us over on Instagram. Dolphins Today IG is our handle. Posting reels there every day in between our YouTube content. I mentioned a little bit earlier that Matt Laflur was hired as head coach in 2019 for the Green Bay Packers and has had, in my opinion, a ton of success. He’s made the playoffs in every year but one. That was in 2022. Uh, excuse me. That would be uh, yeah, 2022 when they went eight and nine. But in his first three years as head coach, still Aaron Rogers was there. They won 13 games in all three of those years and won the division in all three of those years. Now, you’ve had a couple shaky years here post Aaron Rogers with Jordan Love in company where you’ve missed the playoffs. You’ve barely made the playoffs at nine and eight and then last year was third in the NFC North. really competitive division and finish 11-6 this year. So far, the Packers are 5-3 and one and currently third in the NFC North behind the Lions and Bears who are both six and three. I do expect that to change. I don’t think the Bears and Lions will stay ahead of the Packers for the entire season, but the Packers have been one of the largest disappointments in the NFL this season. I mean, myself and many included believed the Packers were going to win the entire NFC this year. I mean, you could find the video. I was asked of my Super Bowl prediction at the beginning of the year, and I said it was the Ravens over the Packers in the Super Bowl. And let’s just call a spade a spade. The Packers have looked pretty blunt this year. They have. So, maybe there is a little bit of burnout with Lafleur in Green Bay. This is his seventh season and they haven’t really gotten over that finish line. They’ve been to the NFC Championship game, but couldn’t get past Tom Brady and company, couldn’t get past some others and have come up short under Lafleur and is he going to be blamed and ultimately fired? Who knows? But I would still hire him. What say you? Would you replace Mike McDaniel with Matt Lafleur if Lafleur got canned? Pin comment on today’s show. Type Y for yes or type N for no. As I mentioned a little bit ago, there is not a world that we live in where I would rather have Mike McDaniel over Matt Lafleur. I think both are offensive geniuses, if you will. I think Lafleur is better and his offense is more sustainable and less gimmicky, if you will, more north south, get down, predicate on the run game. They want to run the football. They have a good offensive line. They have it at a top running back and they set that up with the ability to have highlevel playa action plays. Like Lafleur is a good football coach, man. He just absolutely is. And you don’t have the success he’s had over the last six, seven years without him being a good football coach and have consistent success they’ve had. Let’s move over from Matt Lafleur now to Vance Joseph coming up in just one second. Is he a top candidate to potentially replace Mike McDaniel if Miami ultimately moved on after the season? This episode is brought to you by Prize Picks, though. You and I make decisions every day. The right decision on prize could get you paid. And with the weather changing, nothing changes like being right on prize picks. You can get $50 in lineups when you play your first $5. Keep the season rolling on prize. It’s good to be right. The reason why we’re talking about Vance Joseph as a potential option for Miami is because a recent article that Miami or ESPN put out about the latest rumors in the head coaching circle, it got a major bump because of the firing of Brian Dable earlier this week. This isn’t a Dolphins related thing, just more of a leaguewide thing. But ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graciano said that the league is very impressed with what Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is doing in Denver. Remember, this is a weird situation for Joseph. He was the head coach in Denver for 2017 and 2018, or is it 1617? Get my ears confused. But he was ultimately let go. He goes and becomes the Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator and then rejoins the Denver Broncos as defensive coordinator. Uh, not often do you see a head coach of a team get fired and ultimately return to that organization as a coordinator. Very weird situation. But I think that also speaks to the character of Vance Joseph. He wasn’t scared. He did wasn’t so prideful that he said, “I would never go back to the Broncos because they fired me as head coach.” That impresses me. That just tells me that he is all about what’s good for his brand, right? And he cares about winning and he viewed the Broncos at the time of being hired as the best spot for him to make a difference in the NFL. And he’s only had one of the best defenses, if not the best defenses over the past three or four seasons with the Denver Broncos. Like I think his ability to put his pride to the side and go back to Denver speaks to the type of character Vance Joseph has. And in his two years with Denver, be honest, like it might have been a little bit of a quick hook here, folks, because he went five and 11 and six and 10 in his first two years. And yeah, those aren’t ground bake groundbreaking elite seasons. I’m not trying to say that they were, but to be fired after only being a head coach for two years, to me, you have to be absolutely atrocious and you have to have a dysfunctional organization. I don’t really remember Denver being dysfunctional in this time period and taking over a roster that was pretty bad and dealing with Drew Lock at quarterback. It could have been a lot worse than five and 11 and six and 10 in my opinion. And the defenses in Denver were always still good in that time period. Remember, this is a player or a guy who was with the Miami Dolphins in the past. He was a coordinator defensively for Miami in 2016. So, he has familiarity with the Miami Dolphins system, Steven Ross. Um, obviously not the it would be a different GM making the decisions, but he’s been in Miami before as a defensive coordinator. So, would he want to return to be the head coach? It’s very, very possible. More coming here, but all the latest coaching rumors on the Miami Dolphins will be found at this channel. We’ll have you updated in the offseason, and if the Dolphins keep McDaniel, fire McDaniel, hire someone else, we’ll have you updated and be live on the channel for it all. Subscribe and turn on notifications. But we talked about a Benjamin Albbright kind of idea about the Dolphins already deciding on a GM earlier this week. Well, I wanted to go back to him again here as an insider with the Denver Broncos said that uh he believes that Vance Joseph is going to be significantly better in his second goaround as head coach and he cited the ability to pick his own coaching staff because he wasn’t allowed to do that in Denver the first time. And he will probably get a larger input on players that he’s always specialized in. Like, let’s be honest here. Vance Joseph knows how to get the best out of talent defensively. And if you get Vance Joseph into the building with whoever this new GM is potentially, you can have those two collaborate on who to bring in on the defensive side of the ball. And now the GM would more or less focus probably on the offensive side with other offensive coaches. But Vance Joseph working with the new GM for the defensive players, I think would have a very quick turnaround in Miami with their ability to be defensive, a defensively le team because Vance Joseph has always always been an elite defensive coordinator and always coached a good defensive unit and he is on my short list. Like if you had to ask me who I would want to replace Mike McDaniel if Miami fires him in January, he is certainly on my list of five guys. And I’ve said this in the past and I’ll say it again. My five that are very short and and I don’t want this construed by the way that I want a defensive coordinator only because four out of my five guys on my short list are defensive coordinators. I just think when you look at the best head coach candidates this cycle that aren’t fired like obviously would change if like a laflur or a Tomlin or a John Harbaugh got moved on from but the guys that are currently available these are my five I think Mike McCarthy is the only offensive-minded guy I would want I think he would be good to stabilize this organization and instill a culture as a longtime successful head coach but Robert Salah Vance Joseph two former head coaches that are current defensive coordinators on two really good defensive defensive teams and then Jesse Mentor, Chris Scheler, if you want to go a younger firsttime head coach route, defensive coordinator for the Rams and the Chargers, respectively. Now, I’m not going to sit up here and act like Vance Joseph is my number one target of people that are currently available because that’s not true. My number one guy, and I’ve been saying this for a while, was Rob Salah from the 49ers because he I think got the raw end of the deal in New York with the Jets. I think a lot of those issues had to deal with Aaron Rodgers being the quarterback, Zack Wilson being the quarterback for his entire tenure there and the uh GMing of uh Ryan Douglas or Joe Douglas, forget whatever that guy’s name is. He was atrocious. Either way, like I think Salah got blamed for all of the shortcomings there in New York. I think he would be great as a head coach second time around. And uh Salah has a lot of good offensiveminded friends in this league as well that he would be able to hire an elite offensive coordinator in my opinion and Salah handled the defense. I think Salah would be the my top option, but Vance Joseph is certainly there alongside Mike McCarthy. Pick someone that you want to replace McDaniel. And maybe you want to keep Mike. That’s a very fair. But let’s see. If the Dolphins fired Mike McDaniel, who would you want as the replacement? Drop a name. Now, I did want to drop these five guys on the show because these are not people for me. These are lists on ESPN. So, ESPN had an article highlighting Vance Joseph, but they also highlighted five other names that I wanted to share for you guys. Jeff Havley, the Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator. Steve Spagnolo, the current defensive coordinator for the Chiefs. Joe Brady, offensive coordinator for the Bills. Arthur Smith, former head coach of the NFL OC of the Steelers. And then Marcus Freeman, the Notre Dame head coach. I would be all in on Marcus Freeman to be the next head coach for the Dolphins. I think he would easily make that jump. He’s a great leader. I think he’s a great strata stratistician. Strategist. Stratician. Making up words, folks. Um Jeff Hayley is interesting. He’s got a lot of buzz, but I like Marcus Freeman. All right, final word on today’s show. We’re talking a lot about the head coach and coaching rumors today. rightfully so with that little article that came out, but I still believe it is in the Dolphins best interest to hire a new GM and let him decide on what you want to do at head coach. But I do still lean firing Mike McDaniel. I know some people are in on keeping McDaniel for another year because of Tua’s contract and how they believe Chris Greer is one to blame, not Mike McDaniel. I just think when you hire a GM and you keep the current head coach, unless it’s like an elite elite proven head coach, which Mike McDaniel is not, it creates a sloppy like kind of rhythm. And we saw that with the Titans where you hire a head coach, keep the same GM, fire the GM, keep the keep the head coach. Oh, fire the head coach, keep the GM, hire a new head coach. Oh, now we’re firing the GM. like you don’t want them to be on the different page. You want everybody to be on the same page. So, hiring a GM and letting him hire a new head coach this off seasonason, I still think is the best way to kind of fasttrack this rebuild if you want it to go quicker, sooner rather than later. That’ll do it for today’s show. We ask you to follow us on Instagram. Make sure you follow me over on Twitter as well. Nick Rolloff is my handle. Jaylen Brunson out tomorrow. Yeah, I see that. Big for the Miami Heat. I don’t know. I think we’re better against teams that have their full players. Really? Yeah. MS are the same way, but we’re also dog this year. Anyways, mailback coming up next. Final chance to get your question in. Hash Dolphins are super chat. Reminder, the MVP of today’s show, five free raff, not five free, but you get five raffle tickets for Sunday’s raffle. Get involved. Tyson Bryan says, “Roly, are you spitting?” Am I actually spitting or am I just saying uh things that you like to hear? I believe it’s the Latin. I’ll take it. I’ll take it. Trying to make up words on the fly as well. Yeah, you know, that’s what I like. I love it. What are you laughing about? Uh, Sintel put out a good tweet. Oh, yeah. About Nico. I think I’m all over the Patriots minus 12 and a half tonight. Yeah. I mean, the Jets suck. It’s a big spread. But you want me to believe the Jets offense is going to be able to score two touchdowns? And even if they score two touchdowns, they still might not cover. The Jets blow, man. I mean, the Patriots run defense as a top five unit in the NFL. Are the Jets going to be able to run the ball against the Patriots? And then how are they going to throw the ball? They don’t have Garrett Wilson literally. Like, and the Patriots have beat up on bad teams this year. Um, they just destroyed the Titans. They destroyed the Browns. Um, they did have a close game with the Falcons, but Like I don’t see it, man. I’m also I also hammered the Crimson Tide minus two and a half tonight. Really at home against Purdue. Learn File on dog. I just think in these early games, even though I believe Purdue is probably the better team long term, I just think that when you are playing at home early in the non-con, it is just such an advantage. It is a huge advantage. No doubt. Such an advantage. Yeah. Like you look at the Patriots against bad teams since they’ve uh got this win streak. Um, they beat the Panthers by 30. They beat the Saints on the road by six, but they were only favored by like four in that game, so they covered it. Beat the Titans by 28, Broncos by 29, like or excuse me, Browns by 29. I think they hammer him in 277 final tonight, though. 277. Yeah, 277 final. Trayvon goes off. Trayvon gets one Tutty, 93 yards. Drake May throws for a pair. His two touchdown passes are to M. Holland and Hunter Henry. Hunter Henry is the one who scores the first touchdown. Two field goals from whoever their picker is. Three and a half yards on first rush. Yeah, I like it. First carry is a fiveyard pitch to the left side. Love it. I actually already bet Hunter Henry first touch. You’re ready. $8 to win 78 Thursday night football, college basketball, some other other viewing things for tonight for you. Excited, man. All right, let’s get into the mailbag here and round out today’s live show. We uh got enough questions. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Don’t you know? Don’t you know? Robbie Canó. Don’t you know what a stunt Robbie Canó was, man. Ah, he was a star, man. I mean, people want to talk about the prettiest swings in baseball. Canó’s name’s always going to be mentioned. Got to get Ken Griffy Jr. in there. Obviously, it’s a pretty swing. The Rangers had their choice between Robbie Canó and Walkin Aras in the uh A-Rod deal for Soraniano and they chose Walkin Aras. H tough decision. Yep. Tough decision. Yeah, real bad. I know. I don’t envy being like if there is one sport where I think it’s the hardest to be a GM or run the operation, it’s the it’s the absolutely I mean you’re I mean there are just so many gamles like you literally don’t know. You could take someone number one overall and they might be horrendous. And what you have 250 players in your organization at least and you and you know all Yeah. It’s crazy to me. It’s crazy to me. And it’s like that like they probably had both of those players graded out on the same scale. Absolutely. And it was a 5050 shot for them and they just went the wrong way and the other one’s a Hall of Famer. Unbelievable. Like great swing, man. It really is. Him. I would say him and Barry have the prettiest swings. Cameron, I’ll answer this question first. There is a negative 100% chance the Dolphins win the division. Negative 100. Negative 100. Miami, you realize what would have to do. He goes, even if they, as unlucky as sounds, they drop their next couple of games. Like if the Miami won out, they’d be 10 and seven. You would need the Patriots to lose out. to lose out. Essentially, they’re eight and two, so they would need to end the year two and five at best. And the Bills would have to end the year four and um four at best. That ain’t going to happen. And the Dolphins ain’t going to win out either. So, all right, Coop. Let’s get in the mailbag. All right, let’s do it. You see, Class A got arrested at JFK. Yeah, that’s good stuff. Yes, I did. All right, just start the show. I’m ready, man. Dolphins take on the Commanders early tomorrow morning in Madrid. And on today’s show, we’re going to answer the latest questions before this week 11 matchup. We’re going to start off with our good old friend Nate Brown on our Thursday live show. Do you think efatum could get better over time for us after the interception he had against Mr. Walsh, Josh Allen? Um Josh Allen certainly is not Wash. It was a good play. The Dolphins are certainly playing much better defensively. They’ve been a top half defense in the NFL from week seven on after being the worst defense from weeks one through six. Melanu has improved. I think it has been large in part because Miami has been able to really rotate their secondary members playing Minka Fitzpatrick and the nickel. Melanu certainly has been getting better. Um I can’t say with confidence that I would want Efatu Malanu back next year. Remember Miami signed him to a one-year $2.5 million deal um this off seasonason in free agency. Did that with Ashton Davis. Maybe Miami brings him back on a one-year deal. I wouldn’t hold my breath and I wouldn’t be pounding the table for it because he hasn’t been good enough to this point. Could he get better the rest of the year? Absolutely. I’m not putting it past him. I just don’t think it’s very likely because I’ve seen more bad than good early this season for Alano. I mentioned it. Make sure you subscribe. We’ll be live for Dolphins Commanders the Madrid game here tomorrow morning. We’ll be live at 8:30 Eastern time. Yeah, it’s early. 7:30 Central time for week 11. This is our thumbnail. So, if you see it, means we’re live. Click on it and join us tomorrow. Saucy with a question. Do you think the Dolphins should trade down in the draft and build draft capital? I mean, I get this question so often and I answer it the same way every time. You just can’t project these things, man. You You can’t do it. You have so many different things that have to occur for you to ultimately trade down in the draft. You have to find out where you’re picking because if you’re picking number one, why would you trade out? Take the best player, which is likely a quarterback. But if you’re picking four, what if one of your top quarterbacks on the board and Simpson or Mendoza slides to you there? No, I can’t tell you you must trade down and answer that now. And like like the there’s just so many moving parts here. Is it a good idea to build up your draft capital by trading down when you need to add so many things to the roster? Yeah, it’s a good idea, but there’s just so many moving parts. You got to know where you are in the draft. You got to know what prospects are on the board when you are picking, and you got to know and have a team looking to trade up. And it has to be a tradeup that makes sense for you so you don’t move too far back in the draft and you get enough draft assets for what pick you are moving back from. I mean, there’s just way too many moving parts to answer that in absolute of yes, they need to trade back. We could have a larger conversation on it when the season concludes and we’re talking about the draft in March and early April, but in November, you can’t say that you have to move back because you don’t know what is happening from now until that point. Tyson Bryant with a question. Would you be down for Marcel Reed next quarterback? Uh believing him and HN were teammates. Uh that is not correct. They were not teammates at Texas A&M. triple option between him and AJ and Ali Gordon would be deadly. Now, I don’t disagree with the notion that a triple option between Marcel Reed, Devon Aan, and Ali Gordon would be elite. Now, Marcel Reed is not eligible to come out of the draft this season. He is um well, he’s not getting any NFL draft buzz, so I don’t think Marcel Reed will come out of the draft, but he has certainly been playing highlevel football for Texas A&M. He’s as athletic as it gets. He’s got good arm talent. I don’t think he’s a guy that will come out of the draft. I mean, Coupe, you can agree with me here. He is certainly going to go back another year and try to hone in on his craft and develop. Listen, I don’t want to get stereotypical here, but maybe you could see like a Jaden Daniels level rise because Daniels transferred from Arizona State to LSU, had a good but not great first season for LSU, and then the next year absolutely popped off, won the Heisman. Could that be something Marcel Reed does? Absolutely. He’s in the top five of the Heisman conversation right now. So, if he returns to Aggie land next year and balls out and wins the Heisman, he could absolutely be going in the top three or five. So, this year, Marcel Reed, no. Um, but absolutely intrigued with him. If you wait to draft a quarterback in 2027, he could absolutely be a riser. Similar body structure to Jane Daniels, too. Tall, skinny, lengthy, um, super athletic, good runner of the football. Maybe there is a lot of similarities there. Dur certainly not as accurate and as good as a thrower as Jane Daniels is, at least at this point in his career. Dolphins Commanders tomorrow. I am the Dolphins hammer commanders. You’re asking me questions, I’m asking you one right now. Confidence level in Miami getting a win in Madrid against Washington on Sunday. I’m going 9.4. Let me know yours. Ryan with a question. If Miami was to move on from Tyreek Hill, not if they will, by the way, would you like to draft Nick Harour, the South Carolina wide receiver, to compliment Jaylen Wald? He’s tall, athletic, and has sprinter speed or maybe even trade for AJ Brown. Well, let’s start with the Nick Harour discussion here. Um, he’s about 6’5, 220, and he runs a 4340. So, he’s absolutely freakish when it comes to his athleticism to physical profile. But the issue is he’s not very good. I mean, it’s just is really funny like he has really never had a good season to this point in his career. Obviously, the physical tools are there and you might take a flyer on him in the fifth or sixth round, but he’s certainly not a guy you’re going to draft in the first three rounds of the draft and project as a impact player for you long term. But in day three, I would take the flyer on Nick Harour. And when it comes to trading for AJ Brown, although he would be a very complimentary player to Jaylen Wadd due to his size and physicality and ability to make plays down the football field like Wadd can, that’s a no for me because if the Eagles trade him this off seasonason, which I do think is very likely, by the way, they are going to probably try to get a second round pick in return. I don’t think with that contract, which is very expensive, over 30 million per season and his age, they’re going to get a first round pick in his career, especially with the off the- field diva type of traits that he has. I don’t think that they’re going to get a first. But if you’re Miami, I don’t think you trade a second round pick to get him anyway because are you willing to pay $30 million per season for AJ Brown? No. If you cut Tyreek Hill, you’re saving $36 million and you’re going to utilize that money to address other needs in the secondary, on the offensive line, on the defensive line. I don’t think you should move on from a $30 million wide receiver to add another. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Moving on here in a second, but this episode is brought to you by Prize Picks. It’s good to be right. WFAM Dolphins, should they draft Lenora Cellers? If no Fernando Mendoza, uh, once again certainly depends on where Miami is drafting. Uh, if they are picking inside the top five and Mendoza goes number one overall and Sellers is there at five, probably going to pass. I like Sellers a lot. I’ve said that he’s my third quarterback on the board, but that means number three mean someone’s higher. I would rather have Ty Simpson from Alabama over Lenora Cellers. Simpson’s accuracy, arm strength, and movement inside the pocket is as good as it comes. And I’ll say this right now, I think Tai Simpson is more NFL ready than Fernando Mendoza is. I just have Mendoza’s ceiling a little bit higher due to his mobility, his arm talent, and his physical stature being 6’5, 220. But Simpson has been phenomenal for the Crimson Tide this year, and I love what he’s been doing in that offense. There’s no guarantee any of those three come out. I do think Mendoza goes to the draft, but no guarantee Simpson or Sellers do. I think Sellers actually is going to go back to school. I’ve really grown into this belief more and more over the past couple of weeks that he goes back to school, transfers to a better university than South Carolina, I should say better program, not university, and ultimately tries the ball out in his final year in college and utilize those physical attributes and better production and better tape into a better draft pick. Because right now I don’t think Lenora Cellers would go outside of the I think he would go in the first round. I don’t know if he would go inside the top five though. I think he would go between five and 15. Should Miami take him at 10 if they’re it’s where they’re picking? Maybe. But I would certainly rather have Mendoza or uh Simpson, but I’m not scared away from sellers by any means. Hit that sub button if you missed out on our mailbag opportunity. What do you think about resigning Kater Koh after the season when he recovers from his knee injury? I think I would be all in on Kateru being resigned. I I really like that idea actually and I kind of talked about it earlier in the uh week when highlighting Juju Brent’s strong performance against the Buffalo Bills, but if Brent continues to play well the rest of the year, I would like to bring him back on a one-year deal. I would also be fine extending Jack Jones right now on a one-year deal and making him locked up going into the off seasonason and have him return because like if you ultimately brought back Ker Co who is a very above average nickel corner um one of the best in the NFL actually and you brought back Juju Brent, you brought back uh Jack Jones, your corner unit next year would then hypothetically be Kater Co, Juju Brent, Jack Jones, Jason Marshall Jr. a fifth round rookie and then you go out and sign, draft or trade for a corner that could be your CB1. So you have that CB1 you add in the offseason whether it’s draft free agency or trademark and then you have Juju Brent Jack Jones as your CB23, Kater Co is your nickel specialist and then Case Mars Jr. as cornerback four. I think it’s a pretty solid quarterback unit. I really do think it’s a uh average at best unit or average at least unit after we what we’ve seen so far this season from what Miami’s had. So yeah, I would be all in on bring Koko back in the offseason and it’s going to be a cheap deal as well because and he’s coming off ACL injury and he was not being paid that much prior. So I don’t think the contract’s going to be that high. Cameron, since this year’s draft was so trench heavy, do you think we will look to draft for the upcoming season? How do you think we will draft this upcoming draft, I should say? Oh, because we drafted so trench heavy. Gotcha. Gotcha. Gotcha. It took me a second to follow there. Um, well, here’s the truth of the matter. I think we go right back to the trenches. Let’s just be real here. Kenneth Grant and Jordan Phillips have played a lot better over the last month of the season. And I’m not saying Miami is going to go out and draft interior defensive linemen again, but should they draft edge rushers and offensive linemen? Absolutely. I mean, Jonah Savania has been a bust so far. He’s been absolutely putrid and there’s a chance that he’s not starting for this football team in 2026. And with Austin Jackson continually being injured, um, only one year left on his deal, I am very much open to moving off of Austin Jackson this offseason, whether it’s a trade him away or cut him uh, in early March in February. And then if you do that, you should be looking to draft an offensive lineman in the first round to be that starting right tackle. Whether it’s Spencer Fanu, Kane Proctor, Francis Mayagawa. But also when you look at the edge room, Bradley Chub is not long for this organization. And Chop Robinson is the only other young guy you have. So you need to add a lot of young talent in that edge room. So, I do think if you had to ask me what positions the Dolphins target the most in the draft this next April, I think outside of quarterback, it’s going to be offensive tackle, edge, and corner. Those are the top three in my opinion. The three biggest positions of need heading into the offseason for Miami is going to be offensive tackle, edge, corner, and quarterback. Those are the four. All right, that’ll do it for today’s show. As we said, make sure you subscribe, turn on those notifications, and join us for our week 11 stream. David Ferguson says they’re scoring high after win against Bills. So 10. My confidence level is very high in this win. Yeah, my confidence level. It should be. I Yeah, I mean, you should like, you’re the better team. Go out and prove it. You’re the better team. Got the better quarterback in the game. You got the better defense. Uh, I don’t think you have the better head coach. I’d rather have Dan Quinn probably, but point remains. Yeah. But DQ in year two struggling a little bit. I know they’re dealing with injuries. Well, if no super chats come in and we’re going to sign off here on Thursday’s live stream. It’s the weekend, ladies and gent Well, not for me, but I don’t really have a weekend this year. Oh, true. 1. It depends what happens the rest of the season. Now props to Miami Anthony Weaver and Miamis defense. If the. Defense continues to play the way they played against Buffalo and Atlanta.
