Does Hunter Pence have any shot at being elected?

  1. Hall of cool and a forever giant but not the hall. Will always love pence, such a character

  2. There are 2 plus A rod hall of famers on this graphic. Neither one is Pence.

But Pence has already been inducted into the Hall of Pretty good, and that is more valuable.

  3. How does Alex Rodriquez chances shape up? Statistically, he’s a no-brainer but he was a big time abuser. He has rebuilt his reputation recently. I would love to see Omar Visquel get in.

  4. He shouldn’t. One of my all time favorites but when you compare him to all the other HoF right fielders he is pretty mid.

  5. Hunter Pence is unlikely to receive a single vote, and he does not have a case to be elected to the Hall of Fame (he is almost certainly not one of the 50 greatest right fielders of all time).

Good player, good Giant, and that’s as far as it goes.

  6. Pence will struggle staying on the ballot. Doesn’t have many of the counting stats (below 2000 hits and 300 home runs) or the analytics to back him up (Hall of fame Monitor is at 22 with 100 being likely hall of famer)

Out of the group, Beltran will certainly get in this time, with Andruw Jones potentially joining him although he’s more likely to get in next year.

  7. He’s not a hof player so no he doesn’t have a shot.

Of all these people there’s 3 on here that should get in this year if not next , King Felix, utley and maybe j roll. Even then I’d say only king Felix is a lock

  8. A-Rod and Manny deserve “in.” But not before the dudes on the veteran’s committee ballot gain entry into Cooperstown: Bonds, Clemens, Whitaker, Mattingly, Valenzuela, Delgado, Sheffield, Kent, and Dale Murphy.

Specifically with second basemen: I’ll be pissed if Utley is enshrined in Cooperstown, before Kent and Whitaker get in, who were clearly superior players.

  9. If folks didn’t sit on top of Mt. Pious and could elect steroid-tainted players, I think the following guys would get elected for sure: Petitte, Felix Hernandez, Manny and A-Rod (Felix didn’t have steroid allegations, but he deserves the berth) and I’d throw a vote to Jimmy Rollins, Vizquel and Chase Utley. Hunter should be in any Giants HoF for sure. But he’s not a MLB Hall of Famer.

  10. He doesn’t need the HOF. He’s got rings! Plus, he owns his own comic book shop where he plays Magic:the Gathering all day…

    … He’s in MY HOF!

The guy is living a good life.

  11. Love Hunter Pence to death, no, he doesn’t have a shot in hell at making it as a ball player. But he clearly loves the game and he’s gonna be around for a while, so maybe there are other ways he can make it eventually.

  12. Honestly, of all the new guys on the ballot this year, the only one I think makes it to next year is Cole Hamels. And he won’t get in.

  13. Andruw Jones might be the only one on this list that I would vote for outside of A-Rod. I think you have a lot of Hall of Very good on this list, but all the starting pitchers are really about equal career wise, and I dont think 1 Cy Young and a perfect game does it for Hernandez. Buehrle didn’t have a Cy young but also had a perfect game, and a better career. Roy Halladay threw one and had 2 cy youngs and got in, and had a better career than both of the other previously mentioned.

  14. Not this year, and probably always a long shot. Most of this list doesn’t make the cut in my eyes though

  15. Even though the giants got him as an old man Omar vizquel was spectacular to watch even on those shitty giants teams. I really hope he gets in. It would be a shame if they let Ozzie smith in and not Manos de Seda in.
