TRADE: Ottawa Senators acquire Dennis Gilbert in exchange for Max Guenette | Immediate Fan Reaction

A familiar face returns to the Ottawa Senators. I’m Brandon Pillar from the Locked On Senators podcast and Steve Stos has went out and acquired some left shot defenseman depth. Dennis Gilbert from the Philadelphia Flyers coming to the sends in exchange for Max Ganette. Gilbert spent four games with the Ottawa Centers last season. He was a part of the Norris Cousins trade from Buffalo. And I like this deal because you trade an asset in Ganette that you weren’t going to use this season. He wasn’t signing with the sends. And you get a stop gap left shot defenseman with 111 games of NHL experience. Good size, 6’3. He hits, he blocks, he’s not going to bounce Tyler Cleven off the depth chart. You can use him in Belleville as well. So, this is the type of player that I wanted to acquire and it’s good. He’s got some familiarity with the coach and team.   4. I don't know if this means Chabby is out for a long time. Regardless of any injury, we had no LD depth after Sebrango got claimed. Something we had to address and got it for a guy who wasn't going to play for us anyways. Sad to see Mad Max go but it is what it is

  5. This means Chabby is out for a bit but good move. I thought the sens should have resigned him at the end of the season and we get rid of dead wood in Guénette
