Trader Rumors!!

Isles targeting Simon nemec from devils 2OA pick in 2022 draft. He’s Right handed D. Has had a rough start to career but having a breakout season. We offered Colorado 1st but NJ w ants one of the core prospects. I get the reluctance to trade any of core Ek, kash, cole and calum.

IMO, we trade Calum for nemec and keep 44 (extend him end of season) on 3rd line with 27 and 10.

While I like 64, there is no way we could’ve envisioned the effect 48 would have unlocking the offense along with 29 and 51. We have the perfect blend of veterans and young stars right now and let’s face it while he plays a strong defensive game the transition to offensive production hasn’t been great. This team is a piece or 2 away from being a solid playoff team now that 30 has come back from the dead!

Even after a trade like this we still have a great prospect pool! Trading 44 would give us more assets and while that was the initial plan, it’s time to pivot and think about becoming buyers here!!

  4. A general rule of thumb…  Unless it comes from  u/hutduster, it isn’t happening.  This really goes for anything in life.

  10. Why would you wanna give up on Ritchie so fast? The Isles don’t need this trade. We have veterans we can move for bottom pairing Dmen at the deadline and we have some great prospects in juniors and decent ones in the AHL

    I get your excited about Isles hockey rn but this would be a very questionable move

  11. Devils aren’t trading him (they wanted more than a first rounder in the offseason, and his price has certainly gone up), and the Isles are definitely going to give Ritchie more time to adjust to the NHL before they would ever think of making a move. This is just silly clickbait.

  12. I believe these rumors started in the offseason, BEFORE Nemec started having a breakout season. I don’t see any scenario where the Devils move him now.

  18. Why in the world would Jersey trade him right now? Especially for futures? If it was part of a Quinn Hughes deal sure, but we’re not getting him for the last pick in the 1st and a prospect.

  22. It would be cool, but this trade makes 0 sense. Nemec is playing good and he’s young, devils are heading for a playoff spot this year and wanna go far. Why would they trade away something stable and proven working right now. It just doesn’t make sense really anywhere
