I know you guys don’t like how it looks like it, but this is what development looks like.

Cam has been slowly climbing the efficiency ladder

Ok?
I love it. No QB would be what people deem successful with this team. Fans can’t gage his career on one season. I think he will be a solid franchise QB. We have to get him help. To drive down 95 yards with the 5th and 6th string receivers is impressive. I also think it’s impressive that he only has 6 interceptions for having to throw so much when we are behind. Our fans demand success so quickly when we are not in a good team situation!
I was sold on him when he started showing up at 5:30 before rookie practice. He’s a leader and has the right qualities to be successful. Just need competent coaches and some better players around him.
Casuals can’t read stats I’m afraid
Right in the meaty part of the curve. Not showing off, not falling behind.
The only thing I don’t like is your sentence structure.
He’s definitely shown an increas willingness to dump off to the running back since Callahan got fired.
Actual cherry picking, show the whole season
Spoiler: he’s 33rd in a 32 team league
One game doesn’t suddenly mean he’s climbing the leaderboard to the middle of the pack like you’re trying to make it look
And as a bonus Jaxon Dart is 14th for the whole season in efficiency throwing to the ghost of Darius Slayton
I think a lot of people thought, between the recent rookie success of guys like Daniels and Stroud, that a number one pick coming in and not dominating meant he was a bust. Those people have a completely unrealistic idea of how football works. This is how it works. Cam is slowly making adjustments and working on things based on how games go and how film looks. That growth is stunted a bit by all of the extenuating circumstances around him but there is growth there regardless
ha- you are cherry picking stats. Ward is ranked #33, dead last in all NFL QBS ranked for QBR and he is ranked #33 for RTG also. His 58.4% rate also gets him ranked at 33. Only stat that looks somewhat ok is his passing yardage which is largely bc of all the garbage time stat padding. I read that figure was 40% of his yardage was when down by at least 14. NO BUENO
Think it would be more useful to see a larger sample size (maybe the last month?) but good to see him not on the bottom!
For anyone and everyone who thinks Cam Ward is a bust, does anyone remember Drake Mayes rookie season? Oh you don’t, huh weird… it’s not like his rookie season being forced into a bad team with a good defense and bad offense, and a rookie QB having timing issues… hmm… sounds a lot like Cam Ward… lol people let’s be for real, Ward is a rookie QB who is maturing and growing as a experienced NFL passer.
This fan base can be so drunk at times, but also Redditors might be some the most barbaric keyboard warriors to exist on this planet lol.
In hindsight, Ward is getting better. Look, if Peyton Manning was a Titan his rookie season, he would put up worse numbers. Based on rookie seasons, not careers. And if you want to get technical, go somewhere else for flawed logic and metrics.
You have a better chance of meeting Zeus in person than winning a redundant argument against rat brains.
Is this a shitpost?
I still have my Mariota Jersey and waiting for the days I can start wearing it again because it’s vintage. Rocking my Wycheck jersey instead right now.
The poor grammar of the title is killing me
The amount of cope is just fucking crazy.
Just gotta be patient.
We can push the panic button if it still looks bad at the end of next season
Just a reminder some people in this sub still said we should have taken Shadeur even during the season.
