The Vancouver Canucks have won the David Kampf Sweepstakes. 👏 #CJShow #nhl #hockey

The David Camp sweep stakes are over. Vancouver wins on that front, signing him to a one-year $1.1 million deal. There were a handful of teams interested in David Camp, including teams like Montreal and Minnesota. Why Vancouver for David Camp? I think it comes down to opportunity. He’s probably playing 12 even strength minutes a night at least to start there. And you know, the biggest thing I have to tell you for Camp is reestablishing himself in the NHL, but but also, you know, this is an Olympic year for players of all nationalities, including those like him from Czecha. He’s got to play in the NHL to make future contracts. He obviously wants to play at the Olympics. Already won a a gold medal with this country at the 2024 World Championship. Really, it was the opportunity that that took him to Vancouver more than anything. Certainly had a chance to go to Montreal and this is obviously happened before the Kirby doc injury, but you know, you got to make a choice and and he went with the Canucks, I think, largely because he, you know, he’s a third line center all day to begin with there. He might end up playing more minutes than he’s played in four or five years in the league.
