CONDENSED GAME: Boston Bruins vs. Carolina Hurricanes – 11/17/2025
Live from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Welcome to Boston Bruins hockey on Nessen. Tonight, the Atlantic Division leading Bruins return to home ice for a quick Monday night showdown against the Carolina Hurricanes, who currently sit second in the Metropolitan Division. Slams it ahead. Oh, Giki with a nice touch pass to Posak. He couldn’t hold on to it. Now Aaho out in front denied. He had a quick look on Swamman coming down the slot. Got to take care of that puck in the neutral zone against this top line for Carolina. It actually took Fetchnikov nine games before he got his first point of the season. And this puck hit I think the curved glass and we’ve got to stop and play. Yeah, too talented. You know, not going to stay down forever. It was a nice touch pass as you pointed out Jud. Puck just hopped over the stick of Panak and now the Bruins can’t manage that puck in center ice and it’s just a quick little play coming across the line. Stretch gets in behind the Bruins defense. Nice little lob pass in there by Aaho but Swayman with his first big stop. You take a look at his numbers recently. He’s got four of his six goals total here in the last couple of weeks. Bruins deny a puck at the blue line. Blue Mel tries to drive it in. bothered by Gostas bear sent into the slot. Steve shoots. Kachukov the save. He looked behind him and now covers up. That’s the shot mentality one. You saw Tuy on his first shift come down the right left wing after you get a nice wing to-wing pass from Acimont. And now you got Steve’s playing with Blue Mel. Blue Mel kind of sorts that puck out inside the blue line. Able to find Steve’s catch and release. Mitten at the red line. Set it in. Mitten follows up. Jano looks across. Stops up top. Are you shattered his stick? Mitten shoots. Blocked and it’s retrieved by Mitten out at center ice. Quick change for Carolina. Zenorova. Poke check with the Bruins changing. Here’s Aaho. Swings across. Picked off. Here’s Post. He’ll wheel in. couldn’t pull off a clean shot and it trickles to coach as Miller was able to gap up on him. His back hand picked off. Gostas bear looking ahead with the step and Stankov shoots. Swinging flooded off with the glove. Minute to go. Here’s Posternok. Gosses Bar to turn to try and defend. Posternok pulls up to the slot. Hustadino right to the net. denied. Coach Hunov down on his side able to cover that puck. [Applause] So Carolina gets the first opportunity here in this sequence and Swayman makes a big time piece of the glove save in the final minute of the first period which is huge. He’s able to get just a piece of that and then the opportunity for geeking on another good look by Hustadinov. It was a good second effort by Posat on the Janowski. They battle in the opposite corner to Peak holds it in. Paul got a piece of that. It’s driven out to center ice with 20. Bruins tag up. Bring it back in. Glen Holm shoots. Blocker saved by Coachov. Lenol bitting for a second of the season. Asim finished his check on Robinson who wants a piece of him. Also wants a stick. Hall second attempt. Drives it in. Peak has a word for Hall. Jacowski comes over and everybody starts to separate. Now P didn’t like what Hall did. You know, both players know the clock is going to zero. Hall’s in the neutral zone. He rifles one. Peak thought he rifled it right at him. Take a look at it right here. That stings a little bit. Comes back at him. A little high cross check. Then he’s going to go after him a little bit more. And Chakowski came in. More of the same. I think he’s going to hear from a few more Bruins as this game moves on. If you’re just joining us, couple of changes for the Bruins in the lineup here today because of the injury to Charlie Mackoy and to Victor Arbertson as Spikov’s drive is eaten up by Swam. [Music] Well, we get a look at Mike Riley coming down that left wing. He’s going to lean with that right shoulder, protect it, get the leg out, don’t allow that sweep check or poke check by Asparo. And it’s going to kind of come off his stick. I don’t know if it’s indecision or just in too tight to make a play anywhere else. Thinks Wayman was not anticipating that puck to come off his stick and go right at him the way it did. Goes to chase after it. Fetchnikov headman pass. Here’s Jarvis cuts in. Sham the block save. A clean one. An enormous stop by Jeremy Swayman to keep this game scoreless. Seth Jarvis wheeling down the slot. Carolina’s leading goal scorer taken away. Now Lynholm comes over. Got it away from Stall. This won’t get out. Here it comes. Swaming the save. Rebound. They score. Onehanded in by Stall. [Music] Yeah, just a matter of time. The way this period has been trending, the Bruins just not making any plays. They’re trying the high love. Those are getting knocked down. [Music] Carolina just wears you down with their relentlessness, their for check, their their their speed. They’re playing the long game, too. They when they get pucks deep in their own zone, they’re firing it up to far blue line, and the forwards are anticipating it. Stall just shows you his great strength. long productive career, great 200 foot game. He’s in one-on-one battle, but he’s able to keep his hand freed, top hand, and able to just chip that puff to get knocked down into his skate area just inside that near post. Asimoth Lauri moving up haven’t spent a whole lot of time in the Carolina end this period. Carolina a tenacious man-on-man defending team. Here’s Laurai trying to get it away from Janowski. Cari great duck. Kachkov takes it in and no rebound. Bruins starting to pick up a little bit now. They’ve had two twoon ones here. There you had Zidor on the first one. And now Corali on the second has the guys with the puck. That’s a good puck win battle by Acimod able to chip that puck forward right on the tape of Corali which was nice. Net drive by Tuy. The pass not available. So go ahead and rip it. Hall leaves it for Walker. His shot off his stick to peak yet wanting to break. This puck again stays in now. Walker shot out in front. They score again. Another rebound chance. It’s Janowski and Morgan Gi just sc shattered his stick in disgust. Two nothing Hurricanes. Well, we’ve seen a lot of this from Carolina this entire period. Domination in the offensive zone. You know, Pos almost had a steal, maybe a potential breakaway. But when that doesn’t happen, it’s more possession for Carolina. A lot of motion, a lot of motion up high in man-on-man coverage. And guys were getting a little bit of separation. Started with Hall down deep in the offensive zone. Cut back, cut back, cut back. Then he came out high. He got involved with the two defenseman and the rotation. All happening in the offensive zone. And the minute you get some separation from your man-on-man coverage like Jenowski did, he gets the rebound opportunity. Carolina going right back to work. They keep this puck down low. Not a Mitten Post. Mitten shoots. Coachov the save. Post Zorov. Coachov without his stick. Lori. Lauri pulls Sidorov flipped it off his skate to Mitten Czechov got his stick back barely kept it in. Oh, the pass. He couldn’t hold on to it after Nikesian had moved up. Wheeler’s hoist it in. Glove by Swim and he’s going to be forced to hold it. Well, anxious moment. MC Bruins already down two nothing being dominated here in the second period and uh you know if you give up going like this that’s not a good thing had a little trouble gloving it that’s out in front of him Lynholm wants to give it back to him almost kicked it right through his legs good play by Fraser Mitten get that puck off the pass to gain entry give and go gets it back quick little release forces to make a pretty good save and then Boston has some possession in the offensive zone and men didn’t get open in the high slot Zorv trying to find him just out of his reach. [Applause] Lori 15 seconds left in the period. Tuy pass up top. Never got there. But again, the penalty killers making mistakes. The Bruins can’t cash in. However, 5 seconds remaining in the period. Astronaut Lauri cuts in Coachco and it’s squatted out of midair and Coachov club that offering as the horn sounds to close out a second period that was lopsided in Carolina’s direction. Yeah. And as the Bruins push hard here in the final minute on the man advantage to try to cut into this two nothing lead. Plays like this will happen. Take a high risk keeping attempt at the blue line. Laurai tried, couldn’t do it. Jarvis streaks into the neutral zone breakaway. Had that little cut back to the forehand. Catches the inside of the post. Raymond did a good job hanging in there with him. Bruins avoid going down three nothing. But that second period, you know, you gave the skating game the edge to Carolina in the first. He was saying, “Okay, Boston’s hanging around.” Second period, take your pick. Turnovers, lack of a breakout, just too many mistakes, too many turnovers, too many giveaways. You got to take care of that puck against Carolina. Postnox spins away from the east room, comes out in front. Coachov grabbed that puck with his blocker. Pos wants to call and the paddle of the stick is underneath Posternok. That’s a good idea. A nice little cut back move. Protect it. Take it to the net. He wanted a tripping call because of the use of the goal stick by Kekov. He’s pleading his case to the referee. Referee wasn’t buying it. Wins it. Sador leaves it back. Past his shot as he’s pulling the trigger. We got a whistle. We’re going to have an interference call on the Bruins. Yeah, it was a little late coming. And now Sidora grabs a hold of Gostas bearer. Oh, Jano has a piece in the favors the Bruins. Yeah, but they’re grabbing one of the Caroline players, too. This could be uh penalties of both clubs. Well, they both grab a seat. Sidorov and Gastasis bearer. I don’t know how good Jano’s Russian is or how good Nikisha’s English is, but they’re jabbering away. Geeky will turn away turns again. [Applause] 3 seconds left on the special penalty and this puck won’t stay in the zone. 15 seconds left on this power play. Astronaut around a couple of checks. Set it out in front. Didn’t get cleanly to Asimoth. Slammed around and out. And that’s where Spikov is. Back on the ice. He’s got the puck. He’ll barrel in. Shoots. Playman chest save and holds. Bruins unable to really generate multiple good looks with the man advantage at a time where they really needed decent effort by Pausnock to get through Andre Miller. Looked like something promising was going to happen there, but couldn’t complete the play. Thanks to Castle. Steve shoots but checked off the save. Oh, Castle crashed in. Nestrom felt that. Gets it back. Now Hall twoon one. He scores. He held it and then set it inside the near post. Three nothing Carolina. That’s a pretty nice finish by Taylor Hall. I mean, it’s just a simple play off the wall. The Bruins are trying to keep this play alive right here. Zidor off. That puck bounces right by him. Now, how do you defend? How do you defend, Yogi? How are you overplaying the pass and allows this little move right here. Little pump fakes. Use that long reach, the long stick almost like a self pass. able to finish around Swayman Yoki Haru. Tufty bottled up in the corner. Now it’s fired by Blumel. Stopped by Cochov. 20 seconds remaining in regulation. [Music] Slap to the end board on wrapound. Kachov stopped it. It trickles to the front. score. [Applause] I think it’s Riley Tuy working out in front who slim that five hole. With 10 seconds remaining, it’s 3-1 Hurricanes. [Music] [Music] Well, you’re not going to get two points tonight, but I guess you get some credit for playing all the way to the whistle. All the way to the final buzzer. Base him out with a wrap around. Ty’s hanging around the blue paint. That puck was just free long enough with that second and third effort to jam it right underneath the Carolina goalie and spoil the shuttle. Walker back to get it with seven. Rimmed around Luml. And that’s going to do it. So, the Carolina Hurricanes snapped the Bruins six-game home winning streak and they have evened this season series at one game a piece. Rick, this game was decided in the second period. Yeah, and the second period was clinical as far as the way Carolina likes to play hockey. They got to their game well before the Bruins did. Even though the Bruins hung around in that first period as far as the score and the style of hockey, but you got that sense that if Carolina continued to find their game in that second period, it’d be really hard for Boston to compete. And that’s what happened.

2 out every 3 passes the B's made went to a white shirt. Disgusting display. No breakout plan at all. Back to the drawing board.
Really missing injured players, too many turnovers and breakaways, can't blame goalie
Best highlights hands down, keep up this version NESN
Congratulations Bruins you made a (B) League level goaltender look like Ken Dryden.
