I wished he didn’t drive the team into the ground during their last season in at the ballpark in arlingotn.
I sent an email to JD for career advice when I was 17. Never expected a response. He replied with a thoughtful 2 page letter and hand signed it. Say whatever about his baseball decisions but that was 2013 and he made a fan for life.
I will never have a bad thing to say about him. There’s a reason why Chris Young gave JD so much credit after winning the AL penant and World Series. So many of those players were brought in by JD. I will say I thought it was time for a new voice leading the organization though.
John did so much for us, say what you want but if not for him, we don’t win nothing in the 2010s
He should have done more to work with Nolan. Think his ego got the better of him. He never realized how much he needed him.
When CY and JD were managing the team i called them the dream team. It never caught on.
Man, this interview was so good. The Wash stuff, the Nolan stuff, just the whole idea of watching them win the World Series from home, even though you aren’t officially a part of it. You never saw him open up much, so this was really great.
