Sights & Sounds: Week 9 Win vs. Indianapolis Colts | Pittsburgh Steelers
Mark Twain once said, “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes.” On a day where the Steelers were celebrating their 2005 World Championship team, it would be fitting that their opponent would be Indianapolis. It was 20 years ago when the Steelers upset the number one seated Colts on their improbable run to their fifth Super Bowl title. Do it. Hey man, we talked a lot. Okay, we’ve talked a lot amongst ourselves. Ain’t a lot to say. All I’m going to tell you is check your 40ing out there. Check that sunlight. Okay, if you need out black, get it. Enough said, man. It’s time to ball. The Colts come into this game 7 and one, the best record in football. And the Steelers were looking to get back into the win column in front of the home crowd. Let’s feast the family today. We ain’t playing down to their standard. We ain’t playing down to what the they doing. We got to go out there and be the best group today. The best most dominant D line on this field today. Let’s go out there and get a D. Family on three. 1 2 3. Colts quarterback Daniel Jones has found success with his new squad and that was on display early. Steelers showing a fiveman front here to begin against Daniel Jones who gets a snap, throws out left and it’s a quick completion and it’s Alec Pierce who’s out close to the first down marker at the 31 yd line. Looks like he’s got enough. And this is what they’re going to have to do today. You must pick one phase to eliminate and I’d rather eliminate the rush and force the ball into Daniel Jones’s hands. On a third and 11, looking for an early stop. Shotgun snap. Back goes Jones. Blitz coming. He has time. throws out to the left. Beautiful throw complete on a long out pattern to Pierce. Expect Jonathan Taylor up the gut here. And it’s going to be a quarterback sneak instead. And Jones easily hammers it into the end zone. The defense needed a spark to slow down the league’s hottest offense. Jones in the shotgun. Playa action pass looking. Here comes TJ Watt from the back end. Knocks away the ball. TJ Watt’s got it. He’s picked it up. Watt the strip sack. And TJ Watt makes a play. The Steelers desperately needed to turn it over. And the Steelers will have the ball close to midfield here. Strip, sack, fumble, fumble recovery. A triple statter on one play. 90. [Applause] Aaron Rogers and the Steelers offense took advantage of the short field. Man-to-man look across the defensive front here by the Colts and they’re going to bring six. Rogers back to pass. Looking pumps has a man over the middle of the field that is complete to Austin. Austin sprawling forward and he’s going to pick up the first down as Rogers gets the snap. Cold Spring four fired over the middle of the field. It’s Calvin Austin and Austin spins inside the five and down to the two yd line right up the center of the field and a first and goal for the Steelers. He saw the zone coverage, cuts to the inside. Great job to get north and south and get extra yardage. Off the left side, lowers the shoulder and he is in for the Pittsburgh Steelers touchdown. On the next drive, the Steelers took the ball away again. Jones in the shotgun. He has Taylor to his right. Motion man is Warren right to left across the formation. Jones back to pass looking. Throws underneath. It’s intercepted. Picked off by Kate Wilson. Scooting up the right sideline and tripped up. Brought down at the 15. And the turnovers coming in bunches for the Steelers. You have strip sack fumble fumble recovery. The oneman wonder and TJ Watt and right here, Peyton Wilson. [Applause] Hey, I let I let no line tackle me, bro. Tackle by looks to his right, glances back to his left. Fri crab motions out to the right. Snap to Rogers back looking to the right for Fri. Touchdown. Pittsburgh Steelers. Wow. Wow. Wow. And Prior move in short motion seam route up the middle. Aaron Rogers spots that they’re right in the no man’s land of the zone in the cover too. And he just throws an absolute cold rope to Pat Fry move. And actually the momentum of that football actually carried him into the end zone. There you go. mustache. It’s the mustache. It’s the mustache. The defense continued to make plays, holding the Colts scoreless in the second quarter. But now third and three and the crowd up and the towels waving, clock stop at the 336 mark. Now clapping the hands as Jones gets a snap. Back to pass, looking throws left and it’s knocked away. Alex Highmith batted it away. And here comes the Colts punting unit. Warren and Gainwell in the back. Now Gainwell crabs out to the left in motion as Rogers gets a snap. Will throw out that way to Gainwell up the left side and scoots forward. Splits two defenders and gets out to the 44 yd line. Brought down inbounds. Plenty of time here after that 16 yd pickup. 32 seconds remaining in this first half. Now he’ll get the snap. Back to pass. Looking. Steps up in the pocket. Throws out to the right flag on the play. Johnny Smith the completion on the right side heads up the middle of the field down to the 12 yd line. Prevent type of defense being played here in a quick pass to Austin. Austin starts to left moving toward the right sideline gets out of bounds and is banged out of bounds and only 3 seconds remain in the first half. So here comes Chris Boswell in the field goal unit. Chris Boswell will come on to try to extend this to a two-score lead for the Steelers. Here’s a snap. Here’s a hold. Here’s the kick. That kick is up. That kick is good. And that is in fact the final play of the first half. Coming out of the half, the defense wre havoc. Tight end to the left side of the formation. Steelers showing pressure. The hand off to Taylor trying to squeeze through a hole in the right side and he is going to be stopped right at the line of scrimmage. Once again, Keanu Benton got there first. Jones in the pistol formation has Taylor behind him. Gets a snap. Playaction pass back pressure. Down he goes. Alex Highmith comes up with a sack back inside the 30 yd line. Oh, that was a beautiful little twist done on the inside. We call it a ET out of the 42. A loss of 10 all the way back to the 27 yd line. Now Taylor to the right of Jones in the shotgun. Hbacks each way. Receiver split to each side. Playaction pass. Jones back looking. Steps up now rolling out to the right being pursued by YA Black. Gets to the sideline and is bumped there by Joey Porter Jr. out of bounds. Second and three. Strength to the left of the formation for Jones. He has Taylor as a lone setback. Gets a snap and we’ll get to Taylor. Stutter step and he is hit in the back field by TJ Watt. And Watt gets some help from Kyle Duggar. Our first real look at Duggar who is a very authoritative run stopper. He is a He is a He puts the strong and strong safety and he absolutely just gave Taylor a whack right in the hip. Shotgun formation. Taylor to the right of Jones gets a snap and this one’s batted away and it’s picked off. Holy mackerel. Payton Wilson knocked it away and Sawyer on the other end of the field rushing in. Caught it for another turnover for the Steelers. Second interception of Jones in the game and a fourth turnover by the Steelers. Magical number four, Super Bowl 40. Why not [Applause] a player? That’s why I go to Columbus, Ohio. That’s why I go to Columbus up. I almost tried to get it from you. I’m like, “Let me leave him alone. down. I just saw enough of you going like this that when I picked my head, the ball was right there. Like this. Yeah. As the third quarter was winding down, the offense sought to find Pered once again. Rogers under center. Fakes the pitch to the right. Comes back and will throw it to Darnell Washington. Makes the grab. Upended by Nick Cross, but into Colts territory up the right sideline and down at the 41. Austin motions right to left across the formation. Here’s the snap to throw out to Calvin Austin. Calvin turns the corner up the left sideline and gets down close to the 15 yd line for another first down before he’s knocked out of bounds. 14 yd line. 25 seconds in counting here remaining in the third quarter. Rogers gets a snap, wants to throw, throws to the left and it’s Tarnell Washington on the slant, makes the grab, stretches for the end zone, but comes up a yard short. It’s another first down for the Steelers. Now Rogers under center. Gets a snap. Will pitch to Warren to the left. Warren has some room. And Warren races it in the end zone for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Touchdown. Ooh, it’s a snowball effect. I know there’s none in the forecast, but right now the Steelers are cooking right now. We’ll call it 24. Let’s just go ahead and call it that. 24 unanswered points by the Steelers so far in this ball game. Good job, Jaylen. [Applause] With the Steelers holding a three-score lead, the Colts were desperate for points. Now, here is the field goal attempt by Badgely. And oh, just has enough legs to make it through. And from Acer Stadium, 10:45 remains in the fourth. [Music] Shortly after the field goal, the Colts offense found themselves with the ball again, but not for long. Colts in hurry up mode. And back to pass is Jones. And he’s hit from the backside by Alex Highmith. And now they’re saying it’s a fumble. Oh, I thought the arm was moving forward, but it’s a Highmith fumble forced. It is a Harmon recovery, and it is the Steelers football. Count them. One, two, three, four, five. What a tremendous job by this Steelers Divas. They are turning in a heck of a day. 46yd attempt. And this is a big field goal here. And Boswell steps up and Boswell is Boswell just drills it right down the middle. The great Chris Boswell not to be taken for granted out in the elements. 46-yd field goal. He’s now 15 for 17 on the season. Under three minutes remaining here in the fourth quarter. Jones gets the snap back to pass. Looking pressure coming throws and it is intercepted. Joey Porter Jr. First interception of the season at the 40 yd line of the Steelers. And another turnover. He is hustling down to the closed part of the end zone. And Joey Porter Jr. just flash senior up on the board enjoying with the rest of my teammates up in the club suites. What a great job. A tremendous day for the Steelers defense. Talk about a must-win situation. The Steelers played absolutely amazing. The defense answered so many questions today. Daniel Jones, Indiana Jones found his weakness. Apparently the Steelers defense was a bunch of snakes. He found the temple of doom here at Acer Stadium. That’s the end of the game with the final score. for the Steelers 27, the Colts 20 [Music]

All I gotta say is that boy CALVIN AUSTIN IS A DAWG ๐ฅ๐๐พโโ๏ธ definitely glad to have him back out there. I smell a big game from him in LA
This win humbled so many fake Steelers fans – you guys know who you are though.
Win or lose my integrity for this team NEVER fades!!!!!!!!!

1:47 looks like Highsmith is getting held a little bit to much!??

๐คฆ๐พโโ๏ธ๐คฆ๐พโโ๏ธ @2:19โฆguy walking away wearing TJ Wattโs jersey missing out on his strip sack.
Well done
Please come back Lebeau!
Peyton Wilson tried to steal that away from Jack sawyer. That wasn't cool. And then he even had the nerve to come back and tell him he almost had the ball but he let Jack Sawyer get it? Isn't this a team effort? Everyone watched Peyton Wilson bat it into the arms of Jack sawyer. He already got his props. But he had to say it again twice. That was kind of not cool… There ain't no I in TEAM!!!
Great game. I was praying JPJ would get an interception that balls yours out there brother, Get another one !!..๐ค๐๐ค๐๐
HBOs Inside The NFL โค๐
When you are in the RED ZONE, you need better plays. Touchdowns are the only thing acceptable. We love the WIZARD of BOZ, but he can just do the long ones.
defense starting to look scary, need to just start letting Payton Wilson roam around and make plays, because he can obviously make them
These are awesome !
big win gotta do it again this weekend
If you guys could add the blissfully-sounding Rodgers cadence into these, they would rule even harder!
Awesome video and amazing victory by the steelers.
Man I love the turnovers. But with that many. I feel like we need to be winning by 20+
Danny Smithโs only advice to his team.. โour field is trash, so check your footing and make sure the sun isnโt in your eyesโ. The Steelers have had dangerous turf for decades. When will they finally fix it?
To the steelers: like at the beginning the steelers defense suck but almost at the end the steelers they just get aggressive, I'm impressed of, rodgers, Gainwell, tj watt, and more steelers players, thank you so much for saving us steelers, keep winning, love all be safe!
Craziest game I've seen in a LONG time!
Man….. I'm getting soft. I started tearing up with that thing between JPJ and daddy JP. He's so proud of his boy. ๐ฅฒ
The Boz-O-matic makes it look so easy. Stone cold.
If they don't feed off of this in LA, I quit for real. I mean c'mon man. How TF could you not wanna keep that party going.
Makes the hair stand up on my neck the way they played as a team in that game!!. I was excited watching this game as a Steelers fan ๐
8:26 Will Howard absolutely cheesing for his boy Jack, you love to fucking see it
That #7 tackle is ingrained in my mind
NO ONE thought weโd win and we proved all the doubters wrong. THIS is the Steelers defense we know and love ๐ฅ and it was so nice that the offense responded and scored touchdowns instead of field goals. If we play like that every week and play complimentary football we could actually win a playoff game or 2 ๐ญ
Letโs Go! #Pittsburgh Steelers!๐๐ค๐ค๐
