Hank Aaron kisses the baseball used for his 3,000th hit in Cincinnati May 17, 1970. At left is Hall of Famer Stan Musial who was the last man to accomplish the feat in 1958. Aaron achieved the milestone with a single off Cincinnati Reds pitcher Wayne Simpson.

He became the first player in Major League Baseball history to have both 3,000 hits and 500 home runs.
Amazingly even if you take away all 755 of Hank Aaron’s home runs, he still tops the 3,000-hit club, with 3,016. Th re were very few like Hammering Hank !

Amazing ball player. One of the very best
Everyone knows Aaron is second on the MLB all-time home runs list. Fewer people know he is also third on the MLB all-time hits list.
I am Known as Wayne Simpson. At this moment in time, I am kissing the dirt.
In an all-time fantasy lineup draft, he is my number 1 pick.
Stan the man showing up! Wouldn’t expect anything less from that guy. What a mensch!
