Knicks vs Heat Post Game Show | Live Calls and Reactions! EP 652
All right, mess up. [Music] All right, man. Here we go. Salutinix nation on this Monday evening. If there’s one thing I hate the most in life, it is losing to the Miami Heat, and that is what would happen tonight in crushing fashion. Knicks fall to the Heat 115 to 113. Let’s take it to the fourth quarter where the Knicks would open with a three-point lead only to have it quickly erased on an 18 to5 heat run. But a 17-point fourth quarter by Deuce McBride would bring his team back into the mix and the Knicks would not go quietly into the night. But unfortunately, Al You had terrible shot selection, terrible defense, and uh terrible turnovers that would ultimately doom this Knick team in. They had their chances. They launch up a terrible play at the end, and Deuce couldn’t get the runner. Towns couldn’t get the put back and the Knicks go home with a goose egg in the win column as it relates to the road because they can’t get their road victory and they will move on to Dallas hoping to get one. Let’s talk about it. Hit the like button. Hit the share button. Subscribe to the channel. CP the franchise. Alexaros on the ones and twos. It was right there. It was right there. I can’t stand losing to Miami Heat. Bro, this game is so aggravating, man. It just dumb. What bothers me is just this team has been so crisp with their ball movement, execution, shot selection, all of that went out the window tonight. All of it. And what’s funny is that after a offensive clinic by both teams on Friday, this is the type of game I’m used to between these two teams. It’s ugly. It’s disgusting. You got to play defense, which man, we that went out the window for us, too, in the second half. We could We couldn’t even We could have stopped a nose bleed out the window. you know, we’re starting to give up lead weeds out like there’s no tomorrow. You know, pile who’s struggling tonight decides to get get on a heater and then we’re like, “Oh, I guess Olay was the answer for that.” Um, yeah, disappointing. Disappointing. You had, you know, you had Duke set a good tone out there. He gets out with 10 points early. Then he cools off. Then Macau comes in and Josh, Macau and Josh, they’re running the show because for the most part in this game, the Heat had Carl Anthony Towns pretty frustrated. Landry Sham couldn’t keep the heroics that he had on on Friday uh with the 36 points. I thought the Heat did a fairly good job in terms of frustrating Carl Anthony Towns. A lot of ball denial, a lot of fronting in the post, a lot of moving him off his spots. And then later on in the second half, you had the nightmare towns with bad fouls, two chucked threes that we didn’t need. We don’t need that. And uh you know the play that you know what could have been potentially game tying. Um they called a first they called the goend on Cairware which was reversed to a clean block. So then you had the jump ball at half court. the Knicks would ultimately get the ball and then you had McBride with that’s not the shot we don’t need. I don’t even know what that shot was, man. [Music] We don’t need that, man. We don’t need that. So, I’m going to play that soundbite for the first time this year out. You know, Deuce is cooking, man. He’s got the mid-range cooking. He’s got the three-pointers cooking. That’s not the shot we need right there with 7 seconds left, man. Like if I’m going to have somebody attack to the basket, give me Hart, give me Clarkson. Clarkson was cooking with the drives to the basket. Give me Hart, give me Clarkson, give me Bridges. Those three. That’s it. That’s it. I was shocked that we went with McBride. I mean, after the shaky midi that he took, I was like, woof, this is not who I want to close this game. Yeah. Look, kudos to him. Strong performance in the fourth quarter. Bring us back, man. I give you I I’m not even going to take that away from him. But as a head coach, when you see that shot selection, you got to be like, “All right, guys. This is who we got to work it to because this is who’s going to give us the best opportunity to go win that game.” And it wasn’t going to be Cat either because he was chucking threes. Quitly didn’t have it tonight. All right. Haimey was knocking him off the block. Kell was playing a better game against him. Kat just could not get it going. I was shocked we did not get that to Macau Bridges. The dude was the most efficient score tonight. nine of 14 from the field gets you 23 points and we’re not giving him the rock to close this thing out or Hart or Hart to get the paint touch and kick it out. Give us a good clean three or Clarkson. That was not the shot we needed. And I hated to say it because Deuce was so great in the fourth quarter, but that wasn’t the shot, man. I’m sure Deuce in the locker room is saying we we we should have had a better look at it. We should have had a better lefty runner. That’s not it. That we when have we ever seen Deuce even attempt those shots, much less hit one of those. Well, and it was plenty of time left, bro. So much time. But you know what? Just goes to show clut crutches clutch situation. No 11 out there. Towns is in his head. He’s no good to nobody. That’s how it ends, bro. That’s how it ends. Helter skelter, right? It is, man. It’s just everything just looks so discombobulated out there. Awful. Halter Skelter indeed. I mean, come on, man. Like, it’s just frustrating because the thing is is that this game could have been had. There were moments where like we were up and it’s like, all right, now we’re going to just like chuck the ball at a on our teammates’s feet. Yeah. You know, just throw the ball out of bounds or just like just turn the ball over. It’s like where even Bridges like in the second half it’s like you just walted right into a double team. Like what what are you doing, man? Yeah. Yeah. Like where’s the core awareness? Gastly turnovers as Clyde would say. And that to me that’s what doomed the team because they had numerous chances, but they they really just ished it all away with the turnovers, man. 17 Nick turnovers led to 24 Nick Heat points. You bailed him out completely on a night when Norman Powell couldn’t hit the broadside of a bar and especially in the first half that he really didn’t have much, man. They gritted their way to a victory. Well, one thing the Knicks didn’t have all night was any sort of perimeter defense because they could not stop you from driving into the paint tonight. They gave up 56 points in the paint. Conversely, Miami couldn’t either. So, give credit to the Knicks because from Hart to Bridges to Clarkson, they did a fantastic job getting to the lane and converting. So, neither team could stop the other from dribble penetration. But for the Knicks, that’s what ultimately doomed them in because the Heat really didn’t have much else to go with. They they really didn’t. And you know, when Khar gets back into that game in the uh in the in the fourth, I thought, you know, he was a big difference maker in that one. He was and you know, outside of We being a differencemaker for the Heat. The other issue too, CP, is that not only do we lose the game to turnovers, but then when you’re starting to give the Miami Heat confidence, right? So now they’re getting downhill finishing around the cup. I mean, DaVon Mitchell decided to go get into his bag in the fourth quarter and Davon finishes. But then on top of that, if they’re going to get there and you’re not going to have the rim protection that you need to stop guys out or even when Haimey Hawkins just drives, misses the layup and then you have wear there to have get the put back. If you’re not going to stop paint protection, if you’re not going paint protection, guys are going to get downhill easily. And then guess what? We do the thing that we constantly see this Knicks team do. Even last year and Tom Tibido, they collapse on the paint and then what happens, man? They start to open up threes for Miami and get them open looks. I mean, for the love of God, this team was shooting under 35% in the first half, CP, from downtown. They finished the game with 40%. They they finished the game with 40%. Because we just allowed this team, we don’t we we don’t play defense on the perimeter either. We just allow open threes left and right. Like, what are we going to do around here, man? Like, how much how much is how much do we have to ask for guys just to close out? Really? Yeah. It it it tough tough one all the way around, man. Tough one all the way around. Um but just overall a lack of uh quality execution for 48 minutes. Uh doomed the Knicks in in a game that they easily could have had. They go home with an L and don’t get uh their first road win of the year. So now they’ll have to go to Dallas and and look to feast off of an NBA bottom feeder. In this game though, you had uh you had MC Miles McBride leading all scores and 25 points for Deuce, 10 of 23 from the field, five of 12 from downtown for Deuce. Um overall good game outside of you know that that last play just wasn’t his shot. You had Muel Bridges as you said phenomenal tonight. I thought he was great tonight. 23 points, nine of 14 from the field, 204 from downtown for Macau. Four blocks for Macau Bridges tonight. Four blocks, two steals and four assists. So, talking about doing whatever it takes to get your team a victory. And then the the bench guys, I love Josh Hart’s game tonight. I I was on PIX11 tonight before the game and I told Joe, I said Josh Hart is the deacto point guard on this team and um he showed it out there tonight doing what was needed, getting the paint touches and either finishing at the rim. He only took three threes and so 11 of his shots was inside and and he attacked ferociously. He hit the deck a ton of times. So he really put his body on the line to try and get this win. Nine times, five boards for Josh, two steals on a block. I thought he had a good game overall. Clarkson 14 points. Another guy who again almost a similar statline to Josh in terms of the shooting cuz Clarkson only took three threes. So he was attacking the basket and finishing well. Seven of 13 from the field. Three assists for Clarkson. Had a couple nice passes off of his paint touches and uh and a steal for for Clarkson there. Um so those were pretty much your heavy hitters. You know, Towns again, it was a struggle. Seven to 20 from the field, 22 points, 16 boards, got the boards that he needed, two dimes in a block. But between the Heat, obviously, you knew they were going to make their adjustments, right? So much more ball denial, quicker decisions to get the ball out of his hands. When they sent the doubles, they were much more intentional um moving him out from the low post to to push him up to the to the high post and make him make his move there. And it worked out in their favor because we know sometimes the farther you push him out and he’s under pressure and then he’s got to try to make a move, that’s where the fouls start happening and he gets the hook, you know, he’s hooking the guy or he’s smacking the guy in the face. It was that type of It was that type of undisiplined night for Carl Anthony Towns when it when it came to just, you know, not fouling and just being a bit more responsible. It’s one of those, man. One of those. Absolutely. And and the thing is that a lot of his fouls, man, are so like avoidable. Like a lot of the stuff is just him. It’s like even the one where I forget who what it was. It was uh he set a good screen for a pick and roll. He rolled to the basket. I was like, “Oh, wow. Look at that. That’s a fantastic roll.” But they called it back because he threw his shoulder while setting the screen. I forget who the player was. And I’m like, “Why was that necessary? Why did you have to go throw your shoulder into somebody? just set the screen, then roll, then you get the offensive foul and and now you just lost the possession, now you give the Heat the basketball, and then that’s that. It’s it’s just stuff where it’s it’s really just thinking the game through and just keeping your composure. And this is the frustrating part about Care Towns because you’ll get a fantastic game from him like we saw Friday night and then we’ll lead it up with a game like this where you’re like, “What? Why?” Like you’re this is why you start having the conversation with LD like is this guy worth 50 million with stuff like this? Yeah. Like that that’s why the conversation comes up man. It’s confounding. That’s why it’s confounding. It is. You know, but to the other but to the other guys that you mentioned, Bridges, Hart, Clarkson, those guys, Deuce, those guys played phenomenal uh tonight and like yeah, damn, man. It it was good night from all of them. Unfortunately, you know, and those guys too, like even though they played well tonight, they had their errors and which cost this game. So, it wasn’t a complete 48minute production from any of those guys tonight and they just got to bounce back this week against Dallas and you know, sure sure up things and then you got Orlando a tough match up this Saturday. So, you got to clean your act up because you know, you know, don’t look past anybody, but you know, Orlando’s going to come correct again. They got this game probably circled again, man. They’re trying to make themselves noticed in this league 100%. Uh, let me shout out one of the super chats that came through already. Shout out to our guy Christopher Abbott, man. Friend of the program. Shout out to Christopher Abbott, franchise channel member. A $50 super chat says, “Thought that was going to be. Wasn’t pretty, but it was green night. I had it in the whole st. I had it. It was in the chamber, Al. Right in the chamber. I was ready for my my recap. It wasn’t pretty, but it was ah a terrible shot. It was a terrible shot. It was loaded. It was loaded, you know, unlike Andrew Sham who unloaded the entire clip on Friday. He couldn’t get anything going. He couldn’t get He couldn’t get nothing tonight. Yeah. Make Make a miss league, you know. But again, you with the Knicks being short-handed, you need it. You need those guys to to be taking those shots within the offense. So, Shaman just wasn’t his night tonight. Uh despite the garden party on Friday, town, same thing, but still winnable game. They just could not seal the deal. Uh let’s see who else we got here. Let me shout out some more super chats out. Shout out to Nicks Forever franchise channel member fight super chat says town just has to stop dropping to the ground after every shot. Team score off his flops every game. Do better. Yeah, you know what? I’m you know what? I’m gonna shoot some town some bailing in that regard. What does he have to do to even get a foul called first and foremost? Let’s talk about that first, dude. And I’ll say this, too. Like some of the fouls that he gets called are ticky tacky. But that’s just the that’s the issue with this is like the self-awareness that he has to have about his game, too. It’s like you’ve been in the league for over 10 years now. Guys h you have this reputation. You got to be conscious of it. And you’re not. And that’s why like guys will they’re constantly in that scouting report for the rest before every game. They’re like watch out for Towns. He’s gonna foul somebody doing these type of moves, right? And just be on the lookout for it. And even if it’s not that in the speed of the way the speed of the game, they’re going to call anything that they see on him. And so that’s the difficulty about it. But there’s there’s fouls that he shouldn’t be getting called against him defensively, offensively. It’s like every time he drives it’s like the guy’s getting you could pull out a baseball bat, whack him across the face and the rest would be like, “Yeah, that’s clean.” Like the dude like the dude is really not getting anything, man. He He’s getting absolutely mauled out there. And um yeah, I I thought they missed a lot. And you know, yeah, you don’t want to see him complaining to the referees. I wanted to see I wanted to see him get that respect. He’s not getting that respect, man. And and he got hacked a lot out there tonight. And then when the Heat, especially the Heat are super small, especially with no BAM out there. And Gail Wear when he’s out the game, they’re even smaller. And so, look, that’s why he kind of got the result that he got with 64 paint points for the Knicks. But especially for Towns, you know, he should be able to dominate those matchups as he did Friday. But also, I didn’t think he got the respect of the whistle tonight whatsoever. I I really did not think um he he got that. So, you know, just just unfortunate, man. Yeah, it’s unfortunate, but that’s where he as a player has to like this has just been the whole set of his career, man. And that’s why I say like you got to be conscious of it and you got to adapt and you know it’s you got to be ready for that. And so for him it’s just playing smarter. But I mean at the same time it’s difficult because when he was trying to get to spots on the block, Hakez was just pushing him off, man. And that’s a wing. So it’s it’s it’s a mixed bag where you’re like you feel bad for Cap because he’s not getting the calls, but at the same time you’re like, “Come on, dude. like what are we doing out here? It’s this is the conundrum that is Carl Anthony Towns as a player. Look, it it’s this is what it was last year and that’s what it’s going to be this year. Yeah, it just is what it is. He is who he is and you know you got to take the good with the bad. Uh let me shout out another super chat that has come in. So to everybody in the chat number one show for the fans by the fans KFTV postgame live Nick Knicks lose 115 to 113. Shout out to Cliff Cerval. Al franchise channel member. $20 super chat says frustrating at losing to the family show Miami Heat and Cats inconsistency, but more so our perimeter defense still terrible. SMH and notice Mike Brown shortening his bench. Wanted this win for CP been a gritty one. Yeah, I wanted it, man. Every everybody was waiting for tonight. It felt like that type of night. It wasn’t pretty, but it was gritty and it just it it just all went out the window in that fourth quarter. The perimeter defense, I was kind of surprised. Didn’t seem like they went back to the zone as much. You know, we we did the we did court vision tonight with Shaqs earlier today. We broke down to Nick’s zone and what they were trying to do to stop some of the heat dribble penetration, but didn’t seem like they went to the zone that much tonight. I don’t know if Brown was being a little bit more cautious thinking that Spolster had an ace up his sleeve ready to counter because you know like like Town said this is kind of like a playoff vibe where both teams are making their adjustments because you’re playing each other in such a short time time frame. It was interesting. It was very interesting but you know I still think you you should have rolled it out and see what happens for at least you know parts of the game. I mean, to completely not go to it at all was just a little shocking, especially considering that this team wasn’t shooting that well from downtown. And so, you know, to break a zone, you got to shoot the three better. But the Heat were even shooting the three that well in the first half. So, why not even just force them to like put them in a hole because they couldn’t shoot the three that well to start the game. and then you could potentially have gotten the lead and get the turnovers because Macau was doing a fantastic job jumping the passing lanes, getting blocks, you know, causing turnovers to transition from defensive to offense. And I I was just shocked that you didn’t even get anything like that from from Mike Brown tonight to call that. Like I don’t know why it’d go away from it when it worked so well in the first matchup. I mean, I don’t know, man. It’s it’s not like it’s anything groundbreaking. We’ve seen teams do that the entire year. If Spo has a counter, you just go right back to going to man. It’s not that It’s not that deep. Yeah. Yeah. I was kind of kind of surprised we we didn’t see much of it there. Um especially when the the Heat were having their way. So, you know, we’ll we’ll see what happens on Wednesday. Shout out to We got a franchise channel member Omar Omar Dell Poe 1975 franchise channel member for almost two years. Shout out to Omar Dell. He says, “It’s ridiculous how Towns gets treated as a team. We have to shoot better from the three. 25% ain’t going to cut it. I mean, you know, you know, people have mixed reactions to the towns thing. I Your highest paid player, ladies and gentlemen, is not, you know, above criticism here. It’s okay. You You can You can applaud him for Friday night. He was fantastic. He was an MVP. And say, you know what? He could have done a couple of things better tonight. his decision making as it relates to the fouling, the complaining to the referees, you know, Chuck and those two threes. Clyde said it on the telecast. Is Clyde a bad guy for calling out or Clyde? It was either Clyde or Breen said it wasn’t a good shot. That was not a good shot. It was a Chuck. We did not need that. At least you get to use that line in layman’s terms. You know what I mean? Like it’s okay, man. It It’s okay to say, you know what, just like the deuce shot, right? Deuce had 17 points in the fourth quarter. He was fantastic. That last shot, Deuce himself would tell you it was terrible. Like, it it’s okay for us to walk and chew gum at the same time. Don’t be afraid to say that this night wasn’t so good for this player. And here’s why. This is what we do here on Postgame Show. Everything ain’t roses and rainbows, everybody. It’s okay to keep it 1,00. It’s okay, bro. We’re not going to sugarcoat anything. We’re not going to protect anybody, man. Yeah. That’s the authenticity of the show. It ain’t personal. They lost. Here’s why they lost. We’re talking about it. They didn’t play well. End of end of the story. Guess what they could do the next game? They could play very well and win the next game. They can win very well. We’re singing praises. You did this, you did that, you know. Yeah. You came out here, you executed. 100%. 100%. 100%, man. Uh, let’s get to the key stats of the night. Uh, we got our special guest waiting on the line and we want to get to him. Let’s get to the key stats of the night. Um, brought to you by DraftKings Sportsbook. Hey, wasn’t the Knicks night from three whatsoever, man. 9 to 36 from the Charity Stripe. They uh shoots 25% from three as that last super chat mentioned. Uh, versus 40% for the Heat. Like you said, the Heat came back and uh and got their shots up and got their efficiency up. Neither was it from the charity strike for the Knicks. 18 and 24. They shoot 75% from the free throw line, 85 conversely for the Heat. Um, so that was a good job there. the the Knicks 48-40. They uh win the rebounding battle 48 to 40. And then um assist-wise, the Heat won 29 to 23. You had points off of turnovers. This was a big one for me. And and I’ll talk about it again. 17 turnovers for the Knicks led to 24 Heat points. And then uh fast break battle 22 to 19. And then points in the paint. 64 points in the paint for the Heat. For the Knicks to 56 for the Heat. Largest lead of the night, 10 for the Heat to six for the Knicks. What What do you think here, bro? Biggest takeaway is three-point shooting, man. 25% is not going to cut it, especially for a team that wants to shoot a lot of threes. That’s in the top five of all three-point shooting categories, which is attempts, made, and percentage. 25% is just not going to cut it. And you’re going to need to do better for that be just because like this is what the thing is is like they want this team to be a three-point shooting team. If you’re not going to be able to do that on a nighttoight basis, you’re going to start look like the Boston Celtics. And I don’t want to look like the Boston Celtics where we’re like, “Oh, we’re we’re just, you know, going to live and die by the three.” So thankfully tonight though, at least a third of their shots were from downtown. Um they just couldn’t convert. So that’s the that’s the good thing. The second thing I would say that I take away from this game is just the 15 turnovers. Now, it’s only one turnover above what their average is on the season. But regardless, I thought a lot of these turnovers could have been avoided. It was just sloppy uh control control of the basketball, a lot of just like ill advised shot attempts as well. A lot of stuff that you could have avoided for the 15 turnovers. They could have had an easily cleaner game, but it’s just the decision-m. So, for me, it’s a three-point shooting. It’s only a third of their shots tonight. So thankfully they didn’t truly live or die by the three. Although you want to see them shoot it better and then the 15 turnovers, it’s one above their average on the season. But a lot I think it could have been down to single digits if if they actually like were thinking it through and you know protecting the rock pretty well tonight. Yeah. And I thought, you know, I thought some of the turnovers just more just careless just careless errors versus you know heat pressure. I I thought it was kind of just care some careless turnovers there by the Knicks, but again, you know, they they creep up on you and especially when the Heat were making that run in the second half, you just you just got to play a bit better. But again, sometimes when you know, you don’t have your your guys and you’re on the road backs against the wall, these type of things uh can happen to you. So, I thought the turnovers were my key stat. Um, plus, you know, the 25% from three, even though they had enough to win it, hitting a couple of those, particularly Shamut, particularly Towns may have helped uh swung this in the in the Knicks direction. So, that was that. That was our key stats of the night presented by DraftKings Sportsbook. And joining us today, man, he he is an orthopedic surgeon, worldrenowned, the chair and the associate program director at Northwell Health specializing in foot and ankle injuries. And joining us today, as I said, man, diehard Knicks fan in his spare time, Dr. Adam Berman. Dr. Bitterman, how you doing, man? Welcome to Nick Fan TV, man. I’m well. Thanks for having me, guys. Appreciate it. Thanks for being Yeah, absolutely, man. We we were just uh commiserating here about a tough loss. I hate losing to the Miami Heat, man. I don’t know how you feel about it, but you know, 115 113, man. Uh it’s kind of disappointing tonight, man. New York South certainly not a place you want to lose, but the positive was the highlight of Jaylen Brunson uh playing and practicing on the court. He looked great. Yeah. So, promising for perhaps a return on Wednesday. Yeah. A return on Wednesday. Wow. Yeah. So, so what what did you think when you first heard green one ankle sprain? Just just given your your expertise and your experience, of course. So, the ligaments are like a seat belt on the ankle. It’s something that holds bone to bone. Uh and there are multiple on the lower ankle and some on the high ankle. And they’re different animals. The the sprain that Jaylen Brunson sustained is a grade one. So, it’s a mild tear, but it is a partial tear nonetheless. one that needs to be taken seriously and the medical staff is doing exactly that. The main things that they’re focusing on right now is swelling, pain control, and his ability to have confidence and return back to the court. in a position like him as a guard and someone who’s running the offense, he needs to be able to pivot, pop a three, pass, drive to the hoop, uh, and maneuver the ball with confidence without having to worry about pain or instability with all of his footwork that he, uh, relies on. And so, it’s a step-by-step process uh, with a grade one taking anywhere from one to two weeks uh, to reassess and potentially return. Now, I don’t want to make any false promises, but the way he looked today, uh, tells me that the staff is is positive and has a good outlook overall. He’ll have a major say in how he feels in regards to his return. So, what are some of the signs that you saw from like today’s shoot around that gave you that gives you the inclination he could return on Wednesday? He was having some good lateral movement. Uh, a couple dribbles, a couple dribbles uh to either side uh push off and popping some some good shots. uh he looked stable overall, but again a practice is not uh like the game pressure. So it takes a little bit more time and I’m sure they’ll work on that today or tonight rather tomorrow uh and then leading into the game on Wednesday. Now it appears that this was the same ankle that he had injured against the Lakers last year and this that one was way worse. Is there, you know, from your experience just having a previous or an existing ankle sprain like he did last year, are you concerned about any carryover? Like is that area a bit more unstable or a bit more susceptible to continued sprains even at this point of the season? 100%. You’re spot on, CP. So certainly one sprain can lead to additional sprains going forward. again that seat belt uh we want it to scar down and return to its normal state. Usually it does, sometimes it doesn’t. Also with a strict rehab protocol, you want to get the surrounding soft tissues, the surrounding muscles and tendons to be able to support him uh should the ankle teeter and tilt over. Again, the the first quarter and the first half for that matter was extremely physical. A lot of bumping, a lot of pushing. Think about every rebound. you have multiple athletes going up, players going up, they come down, they land. You take it for granted until someone rolls the way that he had that inversion roll, that rolling in. Uh it can happen again when you least expect it. It can happen and sometimes they’re unavoidable. Um if he’s not strong enough for a return or doesn’t have that confidence, he would be susceptible for a bigger injury. Absolutely. Al Al, anything? Nope. Nope. Keep going. You have something. When you when you look at, you know, the the the conversation around these injuries, Hallebertton goes down with Achilles, you know, Tatum Achilles and Dame Achilles and, you know, these ankle injuries. Everybody has their their theory. Is it the shoes? Right. Jaylen rocks the the Kobes, a lot of guys wearing the low top shoes. Is it the the mileage starting from the AAOU level and they’re they’re constantly going and going? The pace of the game? What do you think about when you hear all all the theories in terms of why these player injuries seem to be I mean ankle injuries have been going on since the beginning of the time, right? But like especially like the Achilles and things of that nature, what do you think about when you hear um some of those theories? I used to think it was the playing surface. Uh but I don’t think that’s the case much anymore. I mean, we’re seeing it on hardwood. We’re seeing it on uh grass. We’re seeing it on turf. Um so it’s happening in all different um arenas, so to speak. The shoe is another thought. Um I was having this conversation recently where uh players were using the high top. Now it seems like most players are using the low top. So I don’t think it’s the shoe. These athletes are enormous human beings and they’re putting a tremendous amount of force on soft tissue day in and day out. And could it be a load issue? Potentially. Uh but as you said CP players are starting at a younger age. they’re playing with more intensity at a younger age and that is one of many many theories but it has been raining Achilles tendons uh both at the professional level amateur level and even at the collegiate level to a scary level. Wow. So go ahead now. Go ahead. No. So my question to follow up is that you know some of the things that people bring up as another theory is that the style of play for basketball now has really like increased like the Achilles and ankle injuries in the league. Do you think that is a factor as well? It’s possible. Uh all of the maneuvers that tore Achilles tendons most recently were like a dribble drive or or takeoff. And that spontaneous pushoff maneuver uh is similar to the NFL lineman. Uh when they’re backing up, they’re planting their their calf, they’re planting their their ankle rather, leading to a lengthening of that muscle belly. Uh it’s called an eccentric contraction, but ultimately that tendon is lengthening and then poof. uh it snaps and that’s when you can see that obvious reverberation up the calf. How about um I I know foot and ankle is your primary specialty. You know OG anobi that’s more soft tissue with the hamstring. Any any thoughts on his injury? Same thing. Could be just I don’t want to say overuse, but usually that’s what these are an overuse injury. Um they’re just moving at pace at a pace that we can’t comprehend. We watch from the stands. We enjoy it as uh and we’re we’re amazed at what they can do, but day in and day out, it is a large burden on the human body. Uh Mitchell Robinson, another person who he’s coming off of ankle surgery. They have him on a load management and a minutes restriction, no backto backs, they started the year off, skipping games. What have you made of uh how they’re treating the the Mitch situation? Well, again, he’s a big man and pounding uh down low certainly puts an extra amount of stress. Uh again, when you compare his position to a guard like Jaylen Brunson, uh he’s got to stand his ground. He’s doing a lot of push off. Jaylen is is doing a lot of speed and agility. Uh going in one direction, juking, so to speak, popping a three here or there. I just think it’s the their size. I think it’s their soft tissues. I I don’t necessarily think it’s their conditioning. I mean, they’re they’re functioning at a level that is just unreal. Uh, but we continue to look at it and trying to figure out more solutions to prevent this from happening. Do you think Go ahead. I was going to say, do you think for like a for like athletes like Mitch or anyone uh like who’s dealt with a lot of injuries, even like OG, do you think that the minutes restriction, do you think that like the uh what is it like the load management, do you think that will help them with longevity or do you think because there’s been like a whole debate on whether or whether or not it works? I don’t know. I got to admit, I’m also a fan and I imagine I imagine people who pay and they don’t see their their favorite player on the court, on the field, on the turf, whatever, certainly would be upset. Uh, as the medical guy, it hurts to keep someone out of their competition, of their game. So, it’s a balance. Uh, some fans understand it, some fans don’t. Uh, don’t come at me for that, but, uh, that’s the fact. Uh but there’s no science per se of load management actually preventing these injuries. Yeah, that you know I mean look that that’s that’s the league stance and you know we could always make that argument whether or not uh you know we should be taking their word for it but I I think just it’s it’s hard to u you know make that direct correlation but you know it’s um it’s a high stakes game and as you said it’s a it’s a fast-paced physical game so we’ll just have to wait and see but from you but from your perspective we we have good news on the way for Captain Clutch Jayen Brunson He could be returning maybe in a week or maybe less. Yeah, he looked good. I mean, again, practice is not what we saw today. It’s not the same as game level competition. There wasn’t any pushing and shoving. There wasn’t any ground and pound. He wasn’t making major moves to the hoop, but being out there dressed with sneakers on, socks, it looked like he had a little extra padding. Maybe his ankle was wrapped, which would make sense. U and so it’s a step-wise progression. and he’s certainly heading in that right direction. You know, fans started to panic when when the initial reaction was that he left MSC in a walking boot and a and a and a and crutches. Is that seems like more precautionary just to keep the swelling down? Totally normal. Totally normal. The crutches and the the boot is purely for symptom relief, pain relief. Uh he was probably icing the heck out of his ankle once he got back. Um even today I’m sure after his activities he’s doing uh certain modalities to limit the swelling, limit the soft tissue inflammation and irritation and ultimately helping him with his pain. There you go, man. Now I was quick to learn that your next door neighbor is one of our guys on on Nick’s Twitter, man. So So with six degrees of separation, it was only a matter of time before he came here tonight. That’s right. He was going to come into the studio today. I don’t know if he’s watching. Yeah, but I had to keep him away. I had to keep him at bay. that there. There we go, man. Shout out to him. Uh what what’s your Knicks fan origin story like, man? How how did you become a big fan of the Knicks, man? It it happened actually with my son, my 10-year-old, who’s a big fan. Nice. He’s actually watching the show in the uh the room next door before bedtime. It’s getting a little late for him. There we go. I was always a fan. Grew up on Long Island and and he’s becoming an increasing fan. So, uh it’s super exciting. Uh we come to the garden quite a bit and uh we’ll see where they go. That That’s great, man. Well, listen, man. We we definitely appreciate the time. We know it’s late. We know it’s late for you as well. A lot of hard and important work that that you do there for the community, but um hopefully this is not the last and and hopefully we can we can bring you back and talk Knicks, you know, talk injury report. Hopefully not too many. Last year we didn’t have much to talk about, but this year it’s early, man. You know, you got Mitch Brunson, OG, there’s a lot at stake. There’s a lot at play. Again, uh it’s early. You’re absolutely right. They know how to manage this. Uh they’ll get through it. Uh both OG and Jaylen will be back. Hopefully Jaylen comes back this week. If not, early next week. There we go. Dr. Berman, thanks again for the time, man. We’ll see you next time, man. I appreciate you guys having me. Thanks so much. All right, have a good one, Doc. All right, ladies and gentlemen, that was Dr. Adam Berman, orthopedic surgeon, Northwell Health. Man, you see what we do here, Al? You know what I’m saying? We are educating the people and providing value. We needed the lowdown on Captain Clutch’s injury. What’s going on with the ankles? Is he coming back? When is he coming back? We have a worldrenowned orthopedic surgeon on here to give us the game. Where else are you getting this, ladies and gentlemen, but the number one show for the fans by the fans. I don’t just say it for my own good. We out here doing the work for the people out. Like, share, subscribe. That’s all we ask. Like, share, subscribe. Now, I will say I’m shocked that you didn’t ask about yourself, man. I mean, you’ve been on the bar covering. I should have I I should have said, “Dr. Bman, you know, I I I I put myself on the injury reserve lift from the from last summer’s Nick’s Twitter tournament. I’m on I’m dayto-day unload management until next summer’s tournament, a full 365 days. How do I recover quickly?” I should have asked him. I didn’t want to be selfish. You missed the opportunity, man. I didn’t want to be selfish. You know what I’m saying? This was about You want the free consultation. Is that what you’re trying to do? Nah, we we got time for that. We don’t need that right now. We had to focus on CAP and getting the people the information that they needed. Shout out to Dr. Bamman. Dr. Bamman thinks he could come back Wednesday. Man, that’s quick. Yeah. Well, you know, like we talked about on on on weekly, it’s like he’s on he made the trip. So, that would either tell you that he’s getting close or he’s just trying to chill with the homies. But, most likely he’s he’s in good shape. He’s in good shape. He’s probably like, “Hey man, you go you guys go to Miami.” Yeah. You go to Dallas. Hey man, let me get on this trip real quick. I want to go get some good eats. Go hang out. Just go. Who knows, man. But hope in all seriousness, hopefully he does return and he’s fully healthy to come back because after tonight’s performance in the clutch, man. This is where it’s why you need him, man. That’s why you need him. Captain Clutch, we need you, man. We we we gota we got to throw the the the the clutch signal out there. Captain Clutch, man. Phone home, please. The bat signal. Just the bat signal. Just the three. Just the three in the air. Hey, listen, man. You know, this is why people like, “Man, what what are you guys so upset for tonight?” You know, when when you go from the NBA’s clutch player of the year, cooking in crunchtime scenarios, you become so spoiled. You become so spoiled and accustomed to executing with a level of, you know, uh hh uh excellence, excellence of execution, breath the hit man heart. Study up, Al, study up. You become so accustomed to that that like, you know, you see McBride with these like with the prey at the end, you’re like, “Oh my goodness, what is that? That’s that’s bad basketball.” You see a shaky mid-range jumper, a a crazy left runner, you’re like, whoa. Yeah. Can you blame us? I mean, I’m used to seeing a guy just like execute and get anything that he wants within like the last five minutes. That’s right. That’s right. So, you know, such a drastic difference. But hey, man, this You know what? That’s what I’m saying. Like, if he went to Bridges, like we saw Bridges get the the game-winning shot against Portland. Give that man a shot tonight. Could have, could have, man. Macau had it going, man. Macau was in his bag. Uh, let’s go to India, man. Let’s go to Ashin to kick us off on the calls. Ashin, how you doing tonight, sir? I’m doing great, CP. I am actually fine with this one. Okay. Uh, the thing is it went exactly as I expected because the last game with Miami that was like a abnormal game. Everybody was chucking and everybody was hitting. This was more like what you would get in a playoff game of second or third game when the team has adjusted to you. you have adjusted adjusted to the team and uh you know they are going to put up the defense more and then what you got what how you are going to respond and this was the perfect test for the team without Brunson right because uh we because they Miami picked up the defense they knew how to deal deal with Mit’s uh offensive rebound and now it went the same way they were game was close and we couldn’t close it out without Branson. So, uh I’m fine because I know Bronson is going to come back. But I have a question for both of you guys. That is uh if you could would you swap cat one- on-one directly with Pascal Sia? It’s just a hypothetical question. Nothing more, nothing less. That’s all. One for one for Seakum. Yeah. Yeah, you do it. Yeah, I do it. Oh, perfect. Then I think we all share the same idea. Thank you for taking my call, sir. Appreciate it. You have a great day. Appreciate the call. So, I got Ash on it from India. Yeah, I would. I keep it a bean. I would. Why? Um, trust trust defensively, offensively, all of it. Both both. And and I know that, you know, if a CC can putting it on the ground, I I can get a nice mid-range out of it, shoot over mismatches, smarter player. It’s trust. It’s trust. Yeah. would I would say I lean towards Seakkum, but I like the only reason like I’m hesitant to say yes fully is because there’s an untapped potential with that cat Brunson pick and roll that we haven’t seen yet. And if we get that actually going, I feel like that could be the most lethal thing possible. Although, like if you’re going to talk about the a well-rounded player, Seakin’s the more well-rounded player. Fits in seamlessly at the four, which is what Cat’s currently playing out there with Mitch. Um it’s tough man because I can see the vision with Cat. Yeah. But then when it’s nights like tonight you’re like ah but Seakkum also has Seakkum also could be at times like not the most efficient player either. So it’s not like you’re getting a you’re not getting like the greatest player in return. He had a great hell of a run last year though in the postseason. I’ll say that. But for the sake of conversation I’m going to say no. I’ll stick with I’ll stick with Kat. Okay. All right. There there we go. Al sticking with cat. I’m saying I do it. But hey, it is what it is. It’s a little fantasy basketball. All right, here was uh Mike Brown after the coach after the game. Al, here was Nick’s coach Mike Brown with some thoughts. Let’s hear what he had to say here. Here we go. Uh man, what what a game. Uh, I thought, uh, for the most part both teams played, uh, uh, really hard, you know. Um, I thought tonight, you know, we didn’t touch the paint and spray it as much. They did a good job staying with our shooters throughout the course of the night, but it allowed us to get to the rim uh, at times and finish offensively. There was a little stretch there in the fourth where we didn’t ex where we didn’t really execute. um we were uh playing out of our drag and getting some good looks even against their zone and then we kind of went away from it. We we got pretty stagnant or stationary with it instead of just letting the domino, you know, coming off the initial action and then letting the dominoes fall however they may fall. So, we got to do a better better job making sure that we continue to execute uh throughout the the course of the game. Uh, and then, you know, I thought in the first half we got a little sideways with the officials uh and even into the the second half at the beginning, but our guys did a great job of refocusing and just trying to go win the game. Um, I I didn’t help them out. I man I it was a bad challenge that I did. I got I got to be better just as much as I’m uh telling those guys to be better. Um it was a bad challenge just from the simple fact that I couldn’t help him in the second half with it because I had uh blown it in the first half. So uh I I have to be better in that area. Uh we as a team have to be better with our execution especially in tight ball games. Um you know throughout the course of 48 minutes and then you know at the end of the day we we have to leave the officials alone. Uh but our turnovers hindered us a little bit. uh our transition, especially in the first in the first half, uh wasn’t great. Uh and a lot of it was due to our turnovers, which we cleaned up a little bit better in the second half. Uh but, you know, at the end of the day, uh most of the looks from the three-point line, I’ll take all any day of the week. Uh they were good looks by a couple of guy a couple of our guys. Um and we usually knock those down. when they didn’t go in today. All right, out. That was the Knicks coach, Mike Brown. Took took accountability. Knicks didn’t have a challenge uh for the second half. Uh talked about the fact that Nicks didn’t really work as as hard against the heat zone tonight. And also mentioned the referees. Obviously, Carl Anthony Towns, you you saw it uh arguing with the ref, but then Josh Hart, you you knew it was you were kind of waiting for when Josh Hart was going to get the technical. You could kind of see the way the game was building up. be like, “All right, you know, he’s killer, but he’s going to get he’s going to get it. The ref is going to get tired of the theatrics after a while.” So, Josh Hart did pick up his technical, so you know, it’s that type of night, man. Murphy’s Law type of thing. Yeah. And I like I’m with Mike Brown, man. Just like you don’t need to talk to the officials about everything. Like it feels like even from last season this last season this team complains way too much to the officials about trying to get some calls where it’s like yo if you do it throughout the entire game they’re just going to tune you out and be like we’re not going to really give you that many calls. Like of course they’re going to have to call make some calls. They just can’t go the entire game without making some like good judgment fouls. But if you’re going to constantly complain at the it’s like if someone’s constantly in your ear saying like complaining about everything little left thing left and right you’re like you start to tune somebody out you know that’s just the nature of the beast. So for them like they should just really stop if there is really an egregious foul that they believe that they should have gotten fight for it but or or pull the pull the offici the the ref to the side. Start talking to them like when there’s a timeout saying hey man this is what they’re doing x y and z and really break it down for them because they’re not going to be able to catch everything. You have to talk to the rest and say what say what they’re not say seeing. But to do it the entire game is just it’s just overkill man. Absolutely overkill. Yeah. You know, it’s just just one of those things, man. You got to keep your emotions in check. And it’s not easy. Not an easy thing to do. As you see with heart, you can always pencil them in for at least what, you know, eight texts in a season. So, you know, I was kind of waiting for it and kind of expecting it. So, I wasn’t too mad at it at the end of the day. still have their chances but just could not execute in crunch time tonight. But as we heard from Dr. Bitterman, the captain could be on the way. So, it’s a good deal. It it it is a good deal if you’re telling me that. If you if you tell me to sign up for that where you get a tough loss tonight and then you get the captain coming back in his old stomping ground to stomp a mud hole in his old team, you know, and and they’re reeling, you know, kick them when while they’re down, so to speak. I’ll sign up for that with great with revenge on Saturday against the Magic with uh Nicks Nation Intel. Sign up for that. Hope our Cubans in the stands. Thanks. Thanks for the gift. Thanks for the gift again. Yeah, hope. Thanks for taking KP and thanks for giving us Brunson. You know, you you helped us out twice. Yeah. But I got a question for you, CP. Yep. Cuz Mike Brown did shorten the rotation tonight. Did you like that? Did you like going sticking with seven players tonight? Like we’re dealing with two injuries right now. I I felt like in a game like tonight where you needed defense, you just needed a spark somewhere like you could have gone to the bench a little bit more. I mean Daw, we saw him in there for a minute. Yeah, he got in for a quick quick cup of coffee. Yeah, I thought more. I thought Yaveelli was brutal tonight. I thought he was brutal. Uh defensively, I did not like his defense one bit. I thought he got caught lacking a couple times and they went right at him trying to expose him. So, I thought his uh his 10 minutes probably was a little too much if you ask me. I just I didn’t think he was good at all. I thought defensively he was terrible tonight. Um Dawara came in for a minute. He came in situationally, got his cup of coffee in. And what does it say that Daware is getting 10 minutes and Dier still getting a goose egg? So, Nick Nick’s got an answer for this, man. Like you’re going to tell me right now that that you got a kid on the bench that that’s not you can’t even use him and you drafted him in the first round. That’s not great, man. For a team that needs backend help. Not just one CP2 cuz you got to talk about actually you can even talk about three. Where’s Huckorty? Horty not getting any minutes either. Hakamania buried. Buried. So you went to Yabu over Huck. Well that’s understandable. You know the Is it understandable? Yeah. I mean, you you you’re paying a guy $6 million. Of course, I’m bringing him I’m bringing him off the bench instead of the last Mr. irrelevant in the draft. Hey, man. But if he’s not giving you anything, as you’re saying defensively, what and we’ve seen this now and we keep going back to the Well, I mean, he only got one minute tonight, CP. He only got one minute tonight. He’s clearly not getting a lot of trust. First half, he didn’t play. Why not go to Huck and see if he’s going to give you something tonight defensively? That’s fair. I I’d go to Huckamania. You know, I’d even I’d even see what Tosan is dealing with, man. Toss. I’d see what Tossan is dealing with. So, he went like eight. He went eight tonight. You know, you get Wednesday, you get a off day, you go Wednesday to Dallas, and then you get two nights off before you get to Orlando. I I’m not mad at it to be honest with you. I’m not that mad at it. But again, you know, your second round pick is getting burned before your first round pick last year. And Kick too, man. and well but I mean Tyler I’m not really expecting min I wasn’t really expecting it going into this season so I’m not surprised there the Wings had the opportunity to me right when we were going down the list in the in the offseason like which young player had the ability to crack the rotation get the most we started with Hucky first right we thought we thought Hawk Py was for sure going to get those backup big minutes especially with Mitch not playing on backto backs he’s not even getting those Kohic I thought because I thought they were going to go to Shammit Brogden route. I thought Kohlick was cooked in the rotation anyway and then you know I I thought that Dier diara one of those guys was was going to get something but yeah not a good look. I I I just did not believe in becom dier man I just don’t see the aggression. I don’t I don’t either but like I didn’t either to be honest but even still man it’s like damn not even a glimmer of hope from the coach. Nope. Zero. Damn. Zero, dude. He He doesn’t like You need aggression. Yeah. I don’t see aggression even during summer league. I don’t see like him really looking for his shot. Like he’s taking shots that are open. But what you need out of him is to be an aggressive shooter and you need him to be an aggressive defender and he’s yet to show both those things. And the fact that we’re not seeing it now, not getting those opportunities and he’s just buried on the bench. You go with Diwara. No, look, I can also understand why you go with Diwara. He he gives you the height, the wingspan, like he’s he is your prototypical like what you want for a switchable wing. You saw way more promise in him even in summer league when the two of them are on the same team. You saw way more promise in him. Absolutely. The aggression, wanting to jump the passing lanes, attacking out in transition. I mean, still has to work on on his dribbling, but at least you could see you could see that it’s there and he’s trying to be impactful. But I want to see more, man. Like honestly, like in a game like tonight where you got you don’t have OG, I felt like he could have gotten a few more minutes. He’s probably not going to shoot that well. He probably he’s definitely not getting enough run with the first and second stringers because you can see that when he was out there he was like you can see like deer in the headlights type of feeling like all right what do I do while I’m out here with these guys who I don’t really play with that often. So, I would like for Mike Brown to really incorporate him more while you’re going to miss OG for some time just because look man, why not? If you’re go going on this whole develop the bench type thing and develop your young players, this is a prime opportunity for a guy that you believe is a good project and has the intangibles that you can’t teach. Yeah, I feel you. Tough tough deal for Dier, tough deal for Yabiselli and they’re certainly not getting their money’s worth there. So, uh we’ll see what happens. still early and hopefully those guys can turn it around. Uh, but speaking of getting your money’s worth, Al, we got to shout out our second sponsor of the night and that is Wayfair. I’ve been telling you about my guys at Wayfair because listen Al, you know, there’s something about the holidays where it’s like for some reason this year we’re just getting closer and closer to Christmas. You have Christmas decorations up. Mary’s got Christmas decorations up right now. I mean, she’s downstairs in the basement pulling it out right now. What? Yeah, man. Well, she’s a Christmas baby. Like, she’s very much into that stuff. So, you know, she’s trying to get the stuff organized. We got people coming through. So, anyway, I say that to say, uh, Wayfair is the place to get it, man. That’s why I rock with Wayfair, man, because they come through in the clutch out. I literally grabbed a U bedding set for my guest room. Got a nice little lamp to go with it. Like I said, you got company coming over. So, you know, you you you want to make sure that that the room is prim for for your company. Sound you sound like you’re disappointed tonight, man. What’s going on? Uh yeah, I’m also tired. tired, too. But, uh, but yeah, I mean, tonight, I mean, it was a sloppy game, especially from Cat. Um, both of his buckets were kind of like struggle buckets, it seemed like. Um, he didn’t really have it going. What I really want to see is I want to see Muel had it going tonight. I wanted I want to see him be more aggressive, especially in the fourth quarter. Yeah, I want to see like we all want to see like you know Christmas game Muel from last year when he he was hot and everyone we kept feeding him and he had it going. I think that’s what we got to see especially with him because like you can tell Mckel he’s a confidence guy once he has his confidence up this guy you know he’s a hard guy to stop well well the thing the thing with him is he’s not a selfish guy that’s the thing so you know he can get a couple buckets get into a good rhythm and then depending on who you’re playing with those guys might get aggressive and before you know it you lose him you forget that he’s even on the court sometimes so I think it’s also on his teammates to not forget that uh you know the bridge is on the team, man. Don’t ice him out. Yeah, cuz we know we all know he has it in him. Like, even when before he even came to the Knicks, when he was in Brooklyn, averaging, I don’t know, like 30 or whatever. Mhm. Like, you know, we we know he has it in him, but coming like I feel like this team, we have to buy on defense. It’s like the defense is just not doesn’t look promising right now. like guys getting beat easily to easy spots and like it sucks when you see like I know it’s still early in the season but it sucks when I like look like the Eastern Conference I’m seeing like there’s people who are out right now like for example Detroit like Cade he’s not even playing and they’re still winning games and you have you know just just there teams who teams that like you know you don’t you know we shouldn’t have to rely on our our players all the time. Yeah, I mean it it happens though, man. And appreciate the call. It happens, man. You know, this is a 82 game season, man. So, it’s ups and downs. Look, he or without Bam and and Tyler Heroes. So, you know, when these two teams meet in the final matchup and this is going to be for the season series, both teams could look pretty different. He could be at full strength. Nicks could be at full strength or maybe maybe it’s a little maybe worse. Hopefully not. Uh do we have Hooper? Hooper on the Discord. Are you there, sir? Hooper. Yo, how you doing, man? Yo, that was the wor What was that L, bro? I was like, this is the tib, bro. The minutes were all over the place. Like, can’t be running eight guys in November, you know? This is quite absurd. Yeah, that that was a uh that was an awkward one there by Mike. We lost. I was a little little mad. Say that one more time, sir. I was a little mad. We lost. I was kind of pissed like, what is this? Yeah, it’s kind kind of tough, man. Hang on. Why are we Mitch? You know, you gota got to use Mitch more than this. Like this is where you need him. Yeah. Well, they went smaller. They went with Cat at the five in the closeout, Al. And I thought I’d like to see what the rebounding battle was in the fourth quarter because it seemed like between where seemed like the Heat might may have won that in the fourth. I don’t know. I think they did actually. Yeah. Got they were going cat every single time. Exactly. Exactly. This is where Mike Brown got to be smarter and play Mitch, you know. Can’t can’t just leave him out there on the bench. Yeah, it’s a good point. It’s a good point. All right, so Hooper’s calling for uh more Mitch in crunch time. What do you guys think in the chat, man? Rate that call in the chat. One being trash, five being facts. What do you think, Al? Uh you want to talk about the rebounding battle and see how they did in the fourth quarter cuz I got it right here. Curious. They both tied. Tied. 11 a piece. Okay. How much? 11 a piece. 11 a piece. Okay. Yeah. 11 apiece. Uh how about in the offensive glass? Offensive glass. The Knicks won that one barely three to one. Three. Oh, okay. All right. Yep. But, uh, when you start looking at the the shooting numbers from, uh, yeah, I mean, the Heat just outshot them in the fourth quarter. Heat shot 54% from the field. Knicks shot 44%. Heat had 24 attempts, Nicks had 25 attempts. So, what it came down to was just making or missing your shots in the fourth quarter, man. and DaVon Mitchell, you know, decided to go off and uh Norman Pal, those are your two biggest guys. Yeah, Palin 47, bro. 47 got you eight points. Yep. In that in that fourth quarter, while uh Mitchell also got you eight points. So, those two guys right there is what really made the difference for the Miami Heat. For sure. For sure. Uh, so to everybody in the chat once again, hit the like button, hit the share button, subscribe to the channel, CP and Alex on the ones and twos. Nicks lose a tough one, man. Nicks lose a tough one. But hey, that’s what it is, man. We’ll bounce back on Wednesday and get another one. All right, more on the more to the phones, man. To the members lounge we go. We getting the people in here, man. Let’s hear from Rambo from Tampa. Rambo, how you doing tonight? Yo, can can you hear me? Am I loud? You loud and clear, sir. All right, cuz I’m in the bathroom, you know. I got to make sure I, you know, I got to get my hide away before I get in full season form right now. Just like my Knicks, man. You know what I’m saying? I’m not mad at tonight. I’m not mad at it all, man. Hey, man. We went out there, we fought. You know what I’m saying? Um, there’s a lot of things I do like about this. I even like the the the last the last shot by Duce McBride, man. Deuce McBride is really trying to step up on some stuff. I like that he sees that the the captain clutch is out right now. I’m not 100% mad at what he went and try to go through. Okay, cool. It’s early in the season. It’s time to try to make some things happen. He wanted his flowers. He wanted He wanted He wanted all that. I’m not bad at that. You know, Cary Towns, I don’t know what he’s got going on, but one thing that I like about Mike Brown, he’s been calling them out the past two games. He’s called them out on arguing with the refs. And I think that within the next few games, you’re gonna see a lot a lot less chitchat with the refs and all that because that’s what Mike Brown is calling for right now. So, I’m not you know what I’m saying? I’m good right now. Male Bridges, as you see, he’s an amazing amazing role player. That’s my guy. I know we want him to be more aggressive. I don’t think he shot a three-pointer in the second half, man. You know, um and actually I do know that. I knew that for a fact cuz he messed up my part late. I’m not going to get into it, but I just, you know, we we good, man. We we more than good. You can tell we missed Captain Clutch tonight. Yeah, we did. But man, it was a it was a great game. I agree with the last caller. Mitch should have been in that fourth quarter. There was too many easy buckets. Just easy, bro. They got easy buckets. And I kept I was like, “Bro, where’s Mitch? Where’s Mitch?” Yeah. Yeah, he took out there was like one point where he took out Shamid. I think he put Deuce in and then he took out Clarkson and put Sham back in. And I was just I was I was like oh I was just waiting. I was waiting for him to put Mitch in cuz that would have been the perfect time to help really, you know, get everybody situated. Cat. Hey man, stop looking for the fouls. Cat, look. I’m gonna tell you right now because I know you listening. I’m take my turn right now, but stop looking for the fouls and go get them. Rambo from Tampa, man. Oh my goodness. Bathroom, man. Come on. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Shout out to Rambo. I’m happy that he didn’t flush. Write that call in the chat, man. Write that call in the chat. Can you imagine if he flushed before he uh he got off the line? Yeah. Shout out to Rambo, man. Hand handle your handles. Handle your handles. And I’m in the shower. I’m in the shower. right there right now. I’m not on KMTV tonight. Shout out to Rambo, man. Never a dull moment, Rambo. Never. Never. Man’s either skipping and sipping his way to the kitchen. Yeah. Taking out the trash on his Infinity driveway or now calling from the shower. Shout out to Rambo. Wednesday. Okay. Sorry, just was just multitasking here on the other side. Okay. All right. We’re going to close the show out. King Matthews. King Matthews on the Discord. How you feeling tonight, sir? King Matthews. I’m so great, man. How y’all feeling tonight? Uh, good, man. You know, I hate losing to the Miami Heat. I hate the Miami Heat, but um, you know, I’ll get over it by tomorrow morning, afternoon or evening. So, we’ll see. Of course. And u I want to shout to um Dr. Adams. Thank you for bringing Dr. Bman. Yes. Yes. Dr. Man, if that’s true, I really hope we see Brunson um against Dallas cuz you know he’s going to go crazy. I just know him. But tonight’s game, man, shout out to the last two callers. Rambo. We all could agree. We’re all watching the game. Where the hell was Mitch? Family show. But where was Mitch? We were waiting for Mitch to come in the court. And then the crazy part you sub out Juice McBry when he had a hot hand mostly Muel Bridges for the last shot you’re gonna give it to McBry. I know he had a good game but that shot was not it. The ball should have been on Mikuel Br hands all and then Cat taking that last three. Let’s just say Cat didn’t have a good game. He had a double double but if you watch the game he didn’t have it. And that three-pointer, I’m not trying to be rude to him, man. But that three-pointer he took from like half court like Andrea Bayani, man. Flashback. Yeah, I don’t want to see that much of that. But jump to the next one. We got this. Just got to get better, man. But hopefully Brunson plays and y’all stay safe, man. Yeah. Salute. Salute. Salute to King Matthews on the chat, man. Rate that call in the chat. One being trash, up to five being facts. Shout out to uh little Smokeoky 6905. We got Heat fans sending us super chats um in here. Um so shout out to little little Smokey. Call back anytime. You know, he’s he’s welcome to call in. I mean, he’s he’s welcome to donate. You know, we we accept donations from all fans, man. It’s okay. He wanted to donate to to to Trash Talk. You know, Trash Talk was a little light, so I mean, you know, it’s whatever. Spent a couple cents on the show. Well, the joke’s on you, pal. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you know, come on, man. Come on, man. Shout out. Shout out to him. All right, let’s go to say Quizzy to close out the show. Say Quizzy, how you feel? Y’all hear me? Yeah. Loud and clear. How you doing? Doing good. Rough rough game. Yeah. I hate Miami. I hate Miami. I hate Miami. I don’t know why. No matter who plays on that court, they always compete with us. Yeah. Yes. I just hate it. Like, and we was playing good, too. Like, Bridges was playing good. Cat was like kind of like off his game. Like, the only thing I hated was the threes, the force threes when we was getting the stops. Outside of that, he ain’t really had a crazy bad game. I ain’t going to lie, the refs, he don’t get no calls cuz I’m like, “Bro, like the call he was getting to get to the free throw line, I’m like he got smacked on the other plate, but it was no call.” But y’all call this is like crazy. But I just hated the the force threes when we was getting stops. Like Deuce had a good game, but that that last shot Yeah. Last that last shot was not his animations. Yeah. He did not have that. wasn’t wasn’t his day. You know, it is what it is. He he willed us. He tried to get us to victory. You know, I’m not going to be too too uh you know, not going to beat Deuce up too much for that out, but cuz cuz he did have a fantastic fourth. It just wasn’t a shot. He I’m sure he would admit it. We haven’t heard we didn’t hear the locker room soundbite, but I’m sure Duce would be like, “Man, I I would take that back.” It is what it is, basketball, you know. Yeah, man. Yeah. I wanted I wanted this one so bad. Yeah. Like I I just hate Miami. Hate Miami. We could have lost anybody, but just Miami I do not want to lose to. Hate the Miami Heat, man. You know, hang in there, Quizzy, man. We got you, bro. Hopefully Brunson come back next game, but that’s all I really got to say. Okay, say Quizzy on the Discord. All right, there we go, man. Write that call in the chat. One being trash, five being facts. Let me shout out Stephen Gomez, South Beach 305 Nick fan representing our 305 crew. South Florida crew. Stephen Gomez franchise channel me. So salute. Salute. Tough loss. Hate losing to the heat. What’s in the arena? Uh know a LA fan. Um was stand up but very tough loss. We had it in the bag. Okay. Shout out to Stephen Gomez. I missed that last part. I couldn’t translate well. So, shout out to Steven Gomez for the support. He said, “Yo, the Heat fans are nervous.” Yeah, they always nervous. You know, you know when you You know when you could tell when they get nervous? When you hear the Let’s Go Heat chants through the through the TV because you know at that point, Al, because we were just there a couple weeks ago, when when the Let’s Go Heat chants are very very loud in the arena, it’s two things. Number one, the Nick fans in there putting hella pressure on them. They’re taking over. So, they’re trying to drown that out. And I literally saw it firsthand when we went there. They have cheerleaders prompting the crowd to get loud. Imagine having that in the Madison Square Garden having to tell people when to get up and get loud for the team. Well, it’s that’s because Miami is fair weather fans, man. I mean, look, they were they were dormant after LeBron left. Now they’re back. And I don’t even know if they’re fully back, but hey, you know, look, man, this is the same fan base that leaves before the game’s even over. So, that’s true. What did you expect? That’s true. Khaled was in the building. K was out here. He was up here in New York. Um, doing all kind of stuff. Theatrics. We the best. Yeah. Hart H Heart landed on him in the game. You saw that? You saw when Hart landed on him early in the first quarter. Yep. That was cool. That was cool, you know. Yeah. Anyway, man, you know, hey, we we live to fight another day, man. That’s all it is to it. And that’s that. Throw away game. Throw it in the garbage, bounce back with an easy win on Wednesday. But how are you feeling, CB? Because you keep talking about, you know, want to get these series wins, man. And now the Heat are up 2-1. There’s one more. So, you got to win that one to tie it. A little adversity. You just never know. You just never know, you know. So, I I like to take care of these season series and with Miami and Orlando is going to be wrapping up soon. Yep. So, don’t take it for granted, especially Orlando cuz you just never know, right? That’s the difference between going to Orlando for game seven and staying in the Garden. So, and even though the Knick team, I don’t worry about the Knicks really home or road, especially when you got Cap, but still good to have, right? I want to go to the game. So, you’re not worried about this 0 and4 start on the road right now? Nah. Nah, not at all. Not at all. Never mind. The first Miami game, all both of these games are winnable. You know, both these games are winnable. The Milwaukee game got out of hand. Um, the Bulls ran them out the gym. I don’t think they were ready for that. and they didn’t come with the with the requisite energy to win either one. All winnable all winnable games. So yeah, Kobe White returned tonight. Did you see how much he had or I didn’t check? Let’s see. I mean, the Bulls are now in a playing category. They they won. Look, they beat the Nuggets 137 on the road. Wow. Yeah, man. Let’s see. What did Kobe White get? Wow. I got to watch that game. They beat the Nuggets on the road. on the road. Oh, co doesn’t look like No, doesn’t look like he played. I thought he was playing. Maybe he’s coming back this week. So, even worse, even better for the Bulls. He had five Bulls in double figures. Herder 20. Giddy uh 21 and 14 and six on the road. Jaylen Smith 16. Who are these guys? Javon Carter 15. AO 21 off the bench. Is AO in the running for like six man of the year? Got to be. I mean, oh man, that’s a sneaky pick. Wow. CP, the people like to joke on the East being weak. This is a competitive East right now. Yeah. Well, the the one thing is, you know, these predictions when we talk about the East being weak or like which teams we expect to be bad. It never ends up going that way. There’s always one that emerges from the group, man. It’s the NBA, you know. Yeah, it is. Things go Detroit though. Detroit is murdering right now. Yeah. Things go right for teams, man. You know, so yeah, Detroit beat the Pacers 127 and 112. Pacers 1 and 13 to start the year. Al Yakima, we talked about 29 points. You have uh 31 for Jaylen Durant. M but I mean you know like all this Jaylen Durant stuff is cute until he runs up and has to guard Carl Anthony Towns and then he’s got to battle Mitch for the rebounds you know like come on with the with this front running and stuff with Jaylen Durant go talk to me when he when he f faced a you know formidable foe you know all this Jaylen Durant stuff what are you doing in the playoffs against the Knicks nothing give me a break man he’s good he’s good though he’s good 31 and Dennis Jenkins, 26 points, eight assists. [Music] 20 for Javvante Green at 20 off the bench. Wow. What the hell is going on here? Wow. What a very weird box score. What? And Toronto to RJ Quick and the boys. Look at that. Third right now. Whoa. Here we go. Nine and five. It’s my adopted team right here. What? Broadway have 16. Quick 15 and 10. Raptors beat the Hornets 110 to 108 in a battle of the basement. But you said they third. Uh Brandon Ingram 27. Scotty Bourne 16. Okay. Brady Dick 10. So they had six six Raptors in double figures. East is interesting right now, man. It is interesting. Yeah. Uh Brandon Miller, Brandon Miller is hurt again. He’s not on this box. He’s hurt again. Wow. Yeah. Miles Bridg is 22. LaMelo 20 20 and 8. Khan Canupal 24-7. Khan Canupal, man. Remember the name. Anyway, man. Um, shout out to the franchise channel members. Al, any new super chats coming? Just want to make sure we didn’t miss anything before we wrap cuz I closed out the chat. Uh there Ko there KP go. There we go. Shout out to the KP go with the $10 super chat. Cat Pat Yuing is right up there. Right up the street. Please go see that man. A peekab-boo three and a forced drive that ends in an offensive foul. Cannot be the whole bag. We not winning nothing with him playing like that. And broke it down. Hey, can’t tell you who’s wrong, you know. Can’t tell you who’s wrong. I’m still going to ride with my player, man. We ride with the name in the front of the jersey. So, it is what it is till the wheels fall off. Uh, great show, Al. Great show all the mods. Great show all the producers of tonight’s show. Like, share, and subscribe. We are on the way, well on the way to 100,000 subscribers with your help. Just continue to support us. Thank you again to Dr. Adam Bitterman. We’re sure he’ll be back. Gave us some good news. Could we see the captain on Wednesday in Dallas? Stay tuned. Uh, I’m going to hit up Harp tomorrow. See if we can get Harp on either tomorrow or Wednesday morning, Derek Harper. So, stay tuned for that. See if we can get a track uh, get a hold of Harp. But, let me check Dallas’s schedule and see if they have anything upcoming that might be a conflict. But, um, yeah, man. Great show, everybody. And, and we’ll catch up with you guys during the week. Tough loss, but we’ll be all right, man. Number one show for the fans, by the fans.

They certainly don’t look like contenders right now. Even the Pistons look better.
KAT was getting so greedy bro ts on him
Gotta start thinking about putting deuce in a trade package along with yabu since he’s not getting real mins in mike browns offense. We need an athletic forward, more length on this team
Game didn’t make sense how is it the most efficient guy only had 14 shots tonight? Bridges has to be more aggressive less passive when he has it going
Knicks needs to stop drafting French players. They should have taken Shannon
I kept telling you guys, we will not win a championship this year if the only superstar we have is Brunson !! KaT to me is a 2 left feet Robin who is not even a Robin to me.. please 🙏 trade him..
54 million dollars for a guy that only plays one side of the ball sometimes not consistent on offense n no defense at all is crazy work…let’s get it together KAT n earn that money
Replay gang: dog days without cap I expect crazy endings
have we beaten any playoff team at full strength???
Trade for gianiis asap kat and og straight up
trading for KAT was not good
Randle/DDV/FRP/payroll flexibility >>>>>>>>> dumbass KAT
Not worried about standings or losing this game but squad needs more height and length and Brown has to play Diawara / Yabu more eventually or we will get destroyed by taller teams over 7 game series.
We can still outscore most (maybe all) teams but thinking Hart and JC can guard 6 10 wings is a good way to use the regular season to prepare for this squads only goal makes me start to question Brown, still early. Next time play Diawara for more than 1 minute wtf was that? 1 min in 1st q makes no sense thats not 'situational'
45:30 stop it Alex….Siakam is way more valuable to a championship team than Kat. He’s proven it 2x. Plus he’s a smarter player and a way better defender. Being physical with Kat is his kryptonite.
Kel’el Ware made KAT look soft
How does KAT forget he's 7ft tall every other game
KAT defense so bad he makes a second round draft pick center look better then him.
Kat shoulda had his moment man, some bulshit
Kat had his moment on a silver platter n he dropped the plate man, wide open 5 ft away com om man
my man chucks up 99ft 3 pters
Ok CP I see you getting a doctor in the building 👀
This team not "IT". Whether it's thibs or not, that Orlando game left a dirty stain on the whole thought that they could win it all, felt like they were manhandled like little kids
And if they win that Dallas game, it will mean nothing
Siakim outplayed cat last year already in last year's conference finals so yes

My beef is with the Kolek pick. As CP mentioned in the weekly, Ajay Mitchell is cooking in OKC, all things being equal, we could have had him:
34. Trail Blazers draft Tyler Kolek (Marquette) — Traded to Knicks
35. Spurs draft Johnny Furphy (Kansas) — Traded to Pacers
36. Pacers draft Juan Nunez (Ratiopharm Ulm) — Traded to Spurs
37. Timberwolves draft Bobi Klintman (Cairns) — Traded to Pistons
38. Knicks draft Ajay Mitchell (UC Santa Barbara) — Traded to Thunder
Our "second" best player and our highest paid player cannot continue to be a 0 on defense and a sometimes on offense. We hold Jalen to a standard of consistency and we should do the same for KAT being that he's a multi time all star/all nba. The levels of inconsistencies from KAT are barely acceptable for a third or fourth option. Either KAT steps up or we start exploring trade options. I'm not willing to waste Brunson's prime to try to figure something out for KAT that he hasnt been able to figure out himself in 10 years in the league
lol and this is the team that is going to the finals ?😂😂 nah dog😢
