21. Out of the 5 reclamation starters Stearns signed (2024 Severino, 2024 Manaea, 2025 Holmes, 2025 Montas, 2025 Canning) all of them ranged from decent to great. Except for one, obviously (who was ironically paid the most by AAV). I don’t mind the idea of reclamation projects but Montas getting $34M will always be insane to me

26. I remember watching his first start and thinking “damn that was pretty good if this is where he is starting from we might have something”. Then it turned out that was his peak.

27. Brewers picked him up at the 2024 trade deadline and then we sign him for two years.

    Given Stearns’ previous role in Milwaukee, I wonder if there’s something in his profile that clicked in both teams model which I would imagine are similar. I wonder what it was.
