[Murray] Sources: Giants hiring Justin Meccage as new pitching coach

I know nothing about Meccage, I’m just glad to see we’ve expanded the hiring tree past friends and family
I’m just gonna call him Justin Johnny Cage, because why not.
I hope someone here is familiar with him and can give a decent breakdown. The article didn’t give as much info as I was hoping.

He stayed in that role through 2024, but was let go shortly after the season ended. In 2020, then-Pirates manager Derek Shelton told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette: “I kind of look at [Meccage] and Oscar [Marin] as we have two pitching coaches. I think Justin Meccage is going to be a pitching coach. He has unbelievable knowledge; his ability to communicate and develop relationships is outstanding.”
Maybe he can turn Landon Roupp or one of the Carsons into Paul Skenes
Some of the guys who started the year with Justin Meccage at AAA in Nashville last year:
-Jacob Misiorowski (1.2 fWAR)
-Chad Patrick (2.6 fWAR)
-Logan Henderson (0.8 fWAR in 25 IP)
As some would say: not bad at all.
