[Marquee] Kyle Tucker declined the Cubs qualifying offer

How could he do this?
I’m just here to say I hate the Ricketts
Thanks for the memories, Tuck. A parting of ways that’s for the best, but what a fun season. I wish him the best.
Well in the few games Owen played I liked what I saw. Hopefully, he gets the opportunity to at least compete for a starting spot

On one hand it does suck, on the other good god those last few months of his were terrible.
Well, yeah? The point is that you offer a QO expecting a decline so that if the real negotiations fail, you get a draft pick.
It would be one thing if a good chunk of the currents teams window wasn’t closing. Then I’d run it back with rookies. But too many contracts expiring at the end of the next year and players getting older to not try to bring him back and then some.
This team isn’t better or the same by losing Tucker… This should be an interesting offseason.

“no way we don’t resign Tucker.”

Maybe it’s just me but I didn’t really dig this guy’s vibe. Dude has no energy and never once looked like he enjoyed playing for the Cubs in Chicago. He was always going to the highest bidder so let them have him. Pay players that want to be here
In other news, water is wet!

Shocking. Lol

As expected.
Maybe he’ll come crawling back /s
He will never be healthy enough to warrant the amount of money someone will give him. With the Shota news I guess it’s back to the bargain bin for us poor small market club.
Well Bye.

Move on. He was mr invisible man in the playoffs

I am Jack’s complete lack of surprise.
Him declining the offer was expected not sure why people are surprised.
If Tucker signs somewhere else I’m fine with that. But only if the Cubs put together a very competitive offer to keep him. Letting him go because he was injured in the second half is one of the stupidest baseball takes ever uttered. Trading away Cam Smith for one season of Tucker and not attempting to re-sign him, is a baseball sin that shouldn’t get the Ricketts and Hoyer banned for life. Owen Cassie this and Suzuki that leads to a Cubs team that will be demonstratively worse next season.
ITT: Cubs fans convincing themselves it’s actually good to let go of a massive talent because of a slump in a 92 win season.
In other news, Miss Lippy’s car…is green
Next at 7: The sky, scientists have discovered, is in fact blue.
