[Rogers] Roster news: #Royals have added pitchers Ben Kudrna (No. 7 on MLB Pipeline’s club Top 30 list) & Steven Zobac (No. 11) to the 40-man roster, protecting them from the Rule 5 Draft. Among the notable not added: Frank Mozzicato & Gavin Cross, first-round picks in 2021 and ’22.

  2. Can’t imagine a team keeping either of them on the 26-man all season, whereas stashing Zobac/Kudrna in a bullpen all year feels very viable. Feels like the logical choice with a limited number of spots.

  4. My alter ego is a proper ragebaiter forreal. You mention Mozzicato one time and it makes everyone mad about first rounders, and it’s really funny because Kudrna got almost the same bonus and the draft class also included Jensen and Cameron.

    Been looking forward to Kudrna in 2026 in any case, he seemed like a mid-season call-up anyway so adding him to the 40-man to protect him is a no-brainer.
