Indiana Pacers at Phoenix Suns | LIVE Reaction | Scoreboard | Play By Play | Postgame Show
Hanks, what’s good everybody? Valley night. That shot of the court was dope. Great job with the national anthem. I don’t know what I’m looking at from the announcing crew, but what is good everybody? Debbook the goat over in playback says, “Where is heel Sundayo?” No idea. He’s reached the the part of his heal phase where he doesn’t even text me to let me know if he’s going to be here tonight. So, I I gotta imagine a no text. That ain’t looking good. That ain’t looking good. Either that or he’s dead, which I suppose wouldn’t be great either, would it? Wins 25 312. He might be okay. He was tired last night, wouldn’t he? Mavericks 152, bro. Looked like he was just looking for any exit to this stream he could he could excuse. I let him borrow it for the day. Oh, really? You got one up at the ranch. Oh, sure. Good. Now, me on the other hand, I finished a pre-stream coffee. Can I say that? I just I don’t think you can. And uh I’ve got a fresh full ice. I’m willing to do it. Something Sundo just doesn’t have the balls to do. All right. Welcome in everybody. Suns Valley podcast. You know what it is? Backto back. Gotta get this win. Sundo made a great point. He said if you have a backto back, this is the exact opponent you would want for a backtoback. A one and 10 team. So, no excuses. I’m not going to allow backto back to be an excuse tonight. If you want to be somebody, you’re going to have to be able to win some backtobacks, right? And this is going to be one of those that I’m going to demand as a W. I don’t know how you guys feel. Please hit the like button. This stream is brought to you by FanDuel. Go check them out. Sign up for FanDuel. Use them this season. Richard, I don’t think he’s at church MC. That’s the problem. All right, fellas. Going to timeout. We got 133 watching. Please help me out. Can we get to 75 likes and then, you know, I’ll start shucking and jing for 100. But 75 first, maybe that baits out of the woodworks. And just know, no matter what Sundo’s doing, it’ll be our fault for wondering where he is. It’s going to be our fault. We shouldn’t be asking him. It’s none of our business where he is. All right. Yeah, Jal, I think it was a good time out to be honest. Uh, let me see, Moss, if I’ve got any VIPs available for you. The only one I am saving is Sundos because he’ll get here and act like a victim if we don’t already have a VIP on him. Even though he’s given us no indication of thinking he’ll actually be here type [ __ ] Yeah, they’re all used up right now. Don’t Don’t feel bad to Euphoria, too. Yeah, don’t feel bad to remind me. If you guys see people leaving, remind me. He probably is classy. He might have gotten abducted. Yes. If you think about it, there’s a possibility here that Burner finally nabbed him. You know, one IQ says Pacers just blowing by our defenders. I hadn’t noticed that, but they are scoring with ease. So, I’m going to pay attention to that to see if like what our on ball defense is looking like. Yeah, that would be dope. Okay. All right, we’re back. DJ McConnell back in the game. Gordon Gillespie. What a matchup. It’s not the same, I guess, when he I don’t know. He was so good last year and he was the Maybe he just needs the threat of Hallebertton out there. But this isn’t the calm, patient, shrewd, operating version of Seakkum that I watched in the playoffs last year. He really is classy. He really is. Should we Should we call Sendundo? Let’s see if we can give him a call here. See if he picks up. Your call has been forwarded to voicemail. The person you’re trying to reach is not available. That was quick. That was quick. What up, code? One ring straight to voicemail. I think bro might be dead in a ditch. All right, very busy. Okay, he just texted me said still on stage at the moment. The man the the man’s life is being on stage. The man’s life is being on stage. You think so, DJ? You think he’s undelivered? Let’s take a look at this scoreboard here. First, let’s look at these Pacers. Pascal’s three for eight and he’s only got 11 points and then 16 for Nemhard. He’s shot five for 10. Both of them, you know, are 10 for 11 combined from the free throw line. They’re definitely getting to the line at will. Other than that, like nobody’s scoring. Tony Bradley with eight. I mean, this game considering This aligned Suns version of the team so far has been able, knock on wood, to hold on to leads and so this game kind of feels comfortable. Is that bad to say? Should I not be saying that? Royce O’Neal with a fat zero points and three assists. My goodness. 24 points for Dylon Brooks. Nine for 13. Let him cook. Just let him cook. Totally fine with letting him cook. Nick Richards zero points in his first start. Ew. Like, how are you going to let Oso outshine you with seven points? That’s seven more points than OSO scored in his whole career and you’re going to go out there and put up zero, no rebounds in nine minutes. Come on, Nick. This was not the time for you to have a bad Nick Richards game. Appreciate you, my fave tech. Could you guys help me out? Hit the like. Can we get to 100 real quick? We just need 12 for that. It could help going into the second quarter as far as people joining the stream. I’ve been so busy running this in playback. I haven’t been able to shuck and jive for likes. Uh, livers played five minutes, no stats. Weird. Ryan Dunn, three points in 11 minutes. Does any So, Grayson hasn’t come back. I don’t think the red hot Grayson five for six again. Didn’t come back. Do we have any word? That’s what I’m asking you, Zach. Do you have any idea? Does anyone know anything about Grayson? Yeah. Okay. Like this is a great time for Man to get in the game and see what he can do against a team that isn’t too much of a threat. I don’t want to be disrespectful. Truckster said banged knees. Hopefully that’s all it is cuz that that sort of thing heals quick. You can come back in a game from just clanking knees with somebody usually. Well, Poison, I mean, Dylan Brooks is a key player on this team. And even in games when he’s not hitting the way he is tonight, his attitude, his energy, he we don’t play like little baby puppies anymore. We play like angry dogs. That in and of itself is damn near invaluable. Yeah, Joker. They might pull him. They might pull him. And that’s fine if they do. Just get the W without him. Let him heal. You know, he’ll have like he’ll have until the 16th to play. He could probably heal it up. I won’t be too upset if Grayson doesn’t come back in, especially with Dylan Brooks shooting the way he’s shooting. You can handle. You just need Royce to start carrying some of the load here. I appreciate his three assists, but how does he not have a single stat outside of that? Yeah, Ivy he his offense is better than people think and yeah, he averages like what 42% from three last season. Absolutely insane. Yeah, Luis. I can imagine they’re saying that because it’s noticeable. The Suns aren’t pushovers anymore. Not only do we not really allow you to get in our heads anymore, we get in your head. It’s really weird. And Gillespie does a little bit of it. Grayson, he’s been doing it. Great attitude switch. Yeah, I haven’t even listen to it. What is this halftime show? This is the type of [ __ ] Sundo would be into. Oh yeah, this is Sundo’s music. This is Sundo all day, every day. So, who’s rich white parents paid for their kids’ garage band to be able to do the post or the halftime show? Somebody donated a fat stack to Ishbia. Okay. Yeah, Ted. I mean, that’s like a whole thing or whatever. I would say I’m just glad that Grayson is still a very viable player and making a name for himself because that’s the only thing keeping that trade from being as brutal as it could truly be. It’s brutal, but it could be a lot more brutal. Code said OSO could be better with a past first point guard. Yeah, if he had a prime Chris Paul or if he was with Luca. Yeah, Ricky Rubio type. You know, Code, he was just Rick Rubio was just with the Suns for such a short period of time. I think that’s the only thing that diminishes his son’s, you know, legacy. Ruben says, “How many points y’all think Brooks is going to end up with?” I think he gets 30. Um I, you know, as a as a floor, I think he’s going to get 30. And then top end 35. I just feel like they’ll guard him differently and he might not be quite as stupid hot as he was in the first. That was crazy what he was doing in the first. What up, Burhane? Goodwin came in. He hit a shot. That was nice. He’s only he’s only played six minutes, but he’s he was helpful in there. Few rebounds. One of them was offensive and it got us a shot from Gillespie if you remember. It was a toe on the line too, but still it’s great. Um Gillespie decent game. He could score more, but he’s not taking a ton of shots. I just want I want Ryan Dunn to get it going. You know, I’m just so worried about Ryan Dunn. I don’t want him to get lost in the fold. I was hoping this would be a breakout year for him. Yeah, Roy. I mean, do you think did you notice? Is it that they’re just guarding the hell out of Royce or something? Like, why would they guard Royce like that but not Grayson? Grayson’s clearly better than Royce. Ivy, which one were we? B team 13. You know what, dude? I kind of like what we have. Honestly, I’m kind of tired of the Suns making trades and moves. Unless it’s something that is like that’s like a tinkering move. I don’t really want to tinker. If it’s a big move, like a big clear-cut, oh my god, you can get this guy because of X situation, do it. But if not, I kind of want to just play this out and see how this group gels together because they’re good together, and I don’t necessarily want to step on that toes. Dusty Dive, uh, $2 dono says, “Teams do not enjoy playing Phoenix. I like it. That’s a great thing to strive for. And you’re right. I think that is the case now. And they used to lick their chops, not just last year. Code, I’m glad you like marketing code because I’m, you know, one of the biggest marketing fans on the planet. Matt says, “Really need Rashir minutes though. If he pans out, him and done would be nice.” It doesn’t seem like we’re going to get it, man. It just doesn’t seem like Rashier seems like a forgotten soul on this team. They don’t even Maybe it’s because mal the since you know you’re not going to get Malwatch minutes I feel like you absolutely know you’re not getting Fleming minutes if they don’t care about developing if they don’t care about playing I should say the 10th overall pick what do they care about taking the the first pick in the second round? What do they care about playing him? But I I agree. I want Rashir minutes. I think he’s more ready to play than Malawatch. Dow maybe, but Dia ended up being able to shoot a little bit. Dial could spread the floor. You know, McConnell Nemhard trying to foul bait. Can’t get it to go. I didn’t fall for it. And my screen cut out. Stream has been getting choppy AF. Anybody else on playback here lose their stream? [Applause] Yeah, I’ll say. It says the event is experiencing technical difficulties. You don’t say. I guess I’ll just shuck and jive over here. Hey everybody, stay tuned. Hit the like button. I mean, I’m texting Sundo, but you know, you know how he is. Front running, halfassing. Everybody’s stream went out. God. Duck duck dinosaur says a family cut out. Hey, perfect time for that, Wanakin. Perfect time. Here we go. Dead air. Dead air. Dead air. I could just play that over and over until they bring it back. But I’m texting Sundo for you. Devin Durant says, “Watch this be the year the Suns win a title, but we’ll never be able to repeat the success with this team. Watch us win on a crazy fluke. One step at a time is what I would say. One step at a time. Code says Ben Simmons. Okay. But Ben Simmons when he shoots it doesn’t look like abs absolute dog water. So you got to find somebody with a terrible jumper. Gated community. Sundo the sellout, which is the perfect name for him tonight cuz he’s about to roll up into his gated community and sell us out. Says heal Sunday. All right, maybe they’re on timeout. [Applause] Many men wish death upon suno type [ __ ] They be trying to take Sando’s life away. Well, well, well. Caesar Buffer, perfect timing. Says, “My antenna is broken on a 23month horseman.” Horseman cook message. Bro, the stream just went out on playback. for everybody like everybody is dealing with uh you know well so seems like seems like I didn’t need to show up after all. Well, we need you in here anyways. Can’t even see me. You’re not going to work tomorrow, are you? I am going to work tomorrow. Game is back on. Oh, Goodwin almost gets a steal. Goodwin’s a pit bull tonight and last night. Hey, bro. Real talk, has there was was last year’s team anywhere as fired up position anywhere like going to the bench and talking to Not for one game out of 82, bro. Dude, it’s completely different culture. They really are playing ball. Like, I don’t mean to be like, “Oh my god, it’s going to be different.” But it really is. Like, they really are playing ball for each other. Like there’s no way last year you see Jordan Goodwin just after a defensive possession in the fourth quarter up 30 up 80 points, bro. Yeah. Run to the side of the bench like look what I did. That that would never happen type [ __ ] Valley Creators. That’s you, right? Mhm. That’s you. No, we we’re not Real Valley creators, right? We don’t have We don’t have the the credentials. Michael Baldino says Bradley Beal ruined the vibes. I I was talking about that earlier Sunday. I kind of think he did, man. Him being delusional, being a bad uncoachable player, like never playing, you know, there had to be some ill will towards him at some point. And he was close with the young dudes, too. Yeah, it’s very possible. You think he was on Epstein Island or what are you trying to say here to Bradley Beal? I mean, at this point, you want if we’re going to slander the man, man, let’s slander him all the way. Yeah, he was on He was on Epste Island. You know, he was on Epstein Island like your guy. Who’s that? That guy looks like he’s on Epste Island, bro. Which one? The guy in a crowd dancing like a like he’s on freaking acid. I mean, aa rush sundo takes that in a heartbeat and so do I. What said guys, would you take a 100k cash, but Devin Booker has to get traded for Bradley Beal. Some nights have to work even harder than others. They don’t call him gated community sundo the sellout for nothing. If you mean to tell me that I can get $100,000 in Deon Booker’s got traded to the Clippers for Brad Beal. Uh yeah, do that hard. Yeah. What do I care? What do I care? Sell out. Sell out. Give me my 100K. De Booker saying he would literally sell the Suns out. I think he would do it for 5K. Okay. Nah, 5K is stupid. I 5K is only for like a month worth of fun times. No. 100K would literally get rid of like half my financial problem. Are you ready to rez? No, I’m going to go to bed though. That reminds me, this channel is brought to you by our new sponsor, Blue Chew. Sundo, take it away. Oh my god. No. Blue. Blue Chew. Make sure that you’re not blue down there in the queue. There you go. Good night, everybody. Blue in the queue. Later, man. And he ended playback. Oh my god, bro. What a freaking bozo. He just ended the playback. Oh my god. You knew he was going to do it one of these one of these games. I’m shocked it’s taken him this long. Now I got to pull the blue chew back up. Unreal. But at the same time, he’s so handsome. We can’t be mad at him. You know, postgame press conference from probably Jordan Au. And hopefully we’ll get to hear from Book or Brooks. Not much difference between the two of them today. U but yeah, I think that would be cool. Roy, we’ll have to set it up for like halftime. It would be fun to do like a halftime callin show, you know. Vincent says, “Bring on the Thunder.” Not yet. We ain’t ready for the Thunder yet, but we’re closer. We’re, you know, we might be. I’m just so proud of this team, man. I mean, I’m not trying to beat my chest out here because we beat the Pacers that are one and 11 now, but to beat them like this when you’re supposed to. This isn’t the team from last year. Last year’s team doesn’t do this. Last year’s team does not beat a team by 35 that it should beat by 35. It loses and it refuses to come back or it does a fugazi and still loses and we have 18 turnovers. Ruben with the $2 dono says, “I have school records. I have the school records for technical fouls.” No idea what that means, but I appreciate the dono as always. Ruben um Stacker says, “Let’s hope Grayson Allen is okay.” Great point, man. really hope that we’re not missing Grayson for I mean, can we can we stand to play without him for even a game? He’s been so pivotal to this team. So much more pivotal to this team than we thought he was going to be. I mean, he barely played today. He only had 12 minutes. Sorry, he had Yeah, 12 minutes and scored 12 points. I mean, he might have been on pace for another 30 burger if you think about it. So, got to hope and pray that that man is not really injured. Royce, five points. That’s rough. Dylan Brooks did all of the role player scoring by his lonesome. 32 for Dilly. Three for seven from the three-point line. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Dylan Brooks is better in a Suns jersey than I thought he would be and the Suns are better in totality with him in a Suns jersey. Like the fact that he’s living up to his billing and then some. I think that’s a big reason why the Suns are are so much better this year than they were last year. And I really feel that way even though this year we are what? Seven and five. Is it seven and five now? Or are we eight and five? Eight and five compared to nine and two last year. No question this team would beat up last year’s team. We’d just out physical them. We’d snatch their chain. We’d take their ball and and pop it and give it back to them and they would be like a I guess we’ll quit now. They have It’s just It’s night and day. It’s night and day. Does that mean we’re going to win the title? No. Does that mean we’re going to be a high seed? No. But I do think it means we could really be that playin team that Sundo was promising you guys and I couldn’t be happier about it. Jacob said goodwin kind of flirting with a triple double off the bench here. 10 six and uh 10. That would have been nice. I like how does that even happen? Goodwin was kind of a bust for us. His first run with the Suns. He kind of was honestly he had a couple good moments here and there, but it wasn’t anything like special. It wasn’t anything like this. And then he went to the Lakers, played pretty good for them, and then he comes back and it’s just like, where where was this Goodwin? It feels like they took Oig’s attitude and injected it into Jordan Goodwin. He’s clearly a better shooter than Oki. So, bravo. and that decision to sign him over Jared Butler looking like it was the exact right decision. You know, Ronald says he can do without Hayes. I think we all could. Um Dusty says, “Well, at least now we know why Fleming isn’t playing. Yeah, he hasn’t really um he hasn’t really done anything in his son’s jersey, has he? Uh Code said, “I would have loved to seen Jaylen Bridges get another another shot over Hayes.” Anyone, bro? Kobe Brea, welcome aboard. We are certain that you can give us every bit of what we get from Hayes Davis, right? Baseline bare minimum. Like what are we doing at this point? Like he’s way worse than I thought he was going to be. Way worse. So, I don’t I don’t even know what to say about Hayes Davis to be completely honest. That’s that’s a full bust situation so far. Um, yeah, I think it’s that. And you know who else is starting to lose confidence in their own ability is Ryan Dunn. Ryan Dunn still does all the little things, but his jumper basically non-existent. Sucks. Okay. Says, “Gabe, I just realized last game in this jersey we got blown out by the Mavs. It returns and we blow out the Pacers.” This really was a freaking blowout. 35 points. Is that our biggest of the year? I mean, we’re stacking some major wins. I expected this team to scrap, tooth, and nail every game. I expected this team to lose close games, but never stop fighting and come back and and and be pluckucky the whole time. I didn’t expect blowout victories. And that’s what we’re getting versus bad teams. We’re getting some blowout victories. How many blowout victories did we have last year? I bet enough you could count them on one hand’s worth of fingers. I know Trevor that Dunn hit one tonight, but in totality like like so what was he tonight? Tonight he was that one for one, but he passed up on an open three and and bro it was the most open three you could ever ask for. It was like a completely blown assignment and he didn’t even look at the rim. He immediately looked for someone else to give it to. That’s a bad sign at least for real. Code Outlaw says, “I know plus minus is sometimes a weird stat, but plus 55 from Oso is wild.” It really is. Really freaking is. I mean, let’s talk about Oso real quick because there hasn’t been a guy on this team that’s been more hated lately than Oso. I have heel turned. As recently as last stream, I heel turned on OSO. Something I didn’t think I was going to do this year. I didn’t think I’d have to, but he was just playing so stinking bad. Um, not only has he been zero threat on offense, he’s been getting busted up on defense. He’s too short, not long enough. Maybe this was just a situation where the Pacers suck. Probably has a lot to do with it. There you go, Code. Perfect timing with that comment. Read my mind. Um, but can you take away a performance like this from him? No. 17 points. They were able to get him to the rim, seven rebounds, two steals, three blocks, a plus 52. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a plus 52. So, I just I just don’t feel like it could be I don’t feel like it means nothing. I think it means something. Couple nasty dunks. Isaac, he can dunk really well. He’s got good hops. The problem is he can’t score unless his hand is touching the rim during that score. Unfortunately, he played some great defense. I don’t think you get this 35point blowout if he’s not playing the way he is. This is just what it looks like if he actually could give you something really positive on the offensive side of the ball. This is what it would look like potentially. At its best, I would say for sure. Like at its best, this is what he could give you. Uh YT is fun says book only had one turnover this game. That’s a huge stat. I don’t think that the score isn’t affected by that. It certainly seems like it would be, right? Book all of a sudden gets the turnovers way, way down. The score goes way, way up. Three for 10 from three, though. 30% is bare minimum. You can’t really even accept three for 10. Three for 10 is not good. Three for 10 is not good enough. But everything else other than that, he looked great. And those threes came late. He got hot. I feel like those three threes were almost in a row. Seven assists, five rebounds. That’s a very healthy statline for Booker in 29 minutes. 33 points. I think he gets 40 points easy if the Suns need him in the fourth, but they didn’t. Good problem to have. Nick Richards kind of stunk it up tonight. I mean, he had a couple of good uh dunks, I believe, to get him that four points, but in a night where you’re starting over finally and you’re starting over him in place of Mark and you’re going to get real minutes, you got to do better than four points and one rebound. That is kind of unacceptable. Oh, I guess he didn’t have any dunks. All his points came from free throws. hilarious. So, not a good night if you’re Nick Richards specifically. Um, and then also just h just so happens to make Jordan a look wise for loving him on that same game. I think you could have been witnessing tonight. You we might have just watched Oso take that depth position back and now he could probably back at number two in line for the center job. And after that one game, I almost can’t blame him if he does that. Thomas Warbrick says, “Just noticed that uh just noticed three blocks by Oso. I get it’s 500 a.m. where I am, but I didn’t realize that.” Yeah, Oso had a hell of a game. His best game as a son, you could argue. I argue it’s definitely the best this year, but maybe ever, but he had a couple of games with Kevin Durant that made me think he was gonna be something special. JM said Richard’s got no intensity. I feel like he has it and then he doesn’t and then he has it and then he doesn’t then then he’s got it and it’s gone. And tonight wasn’t the night to not have it. He needed to drink some sort of pre-drink or something before the game and didn’t. Illegal says, “I think it’s just circumstantial. Depends on what teams we’re playing. Rich uh will do better with teams than both will. They both will do better than Williams. Uh, and Will with Jon Jean? No idea. I think we have I think we have a good probably center rotation. Yeah, they’re all going to take turns being better than each other, but Mark uh Mark Williams is going to be your standout, always should be starting guy. He’s that good. Jordan, here we go. the book was going to be coming out next. What do you guys think of uh the comments here from your boy Jordan? Austin says, “Good win, Gabe. Some uh some glad we’re so glad we were able to win these easy games. Brutal schedule to end November. Hopefully, we can win a couple.” Yeah, man. I I hope that this team is building a level of confidence to where maybe they just won’t know any better and they’ll be like, “Hey, man. We’re used to winning. Uh we’re a winning team. Uh look at our record. We got to do what it takes to win and just I don’t know. I It’s the shooting. They’ve been shooting well. If they can continue shooting well, I do think they can beat anyone in a regular season game. You know what I mean? Things get different different come playoff time, but this might be a team that can beat anybody any given night. You know, maybe not OKC. Maybe OKC would probably slap us around a little bit. That’s OKC, though. That’s going to happen. Um, Austin says, “I think we’re going to beat Houston at home.” To be honest, that will be a high pressure game whether it should be or not. Hey, that’s a good Houston squad. I don’t know. Really don’t. Eduardo says, “Our bench is so underrated.” They’re playing underrated. They’re playing like I should have rated them higher. I hope that that lasts. I really do. Isaac says, “If only we had JG for that one.” For real, man. It hurts that he’s not going to be around for that game. Nefarious Mech says, “Houston’s too tall.” That could be a problem for us. They are a much taller team. Maybe by that point Malawatch is used to playing a little bit, but probably not. Let’s be honest. Probably not. We’re just going to need Mark Will for that game. He cannot be on a minutes restriction for that game. Mac says he thinks Houston’s better than OKC. Yeah, I mean, some of it recency bias. I just I hold OKC in a super high esteem because they won last year and I assume they’re going to do it again this year. You know, Mona says, “Can’t believe we won backtoback. It’s been years.” Oh, won a backto back, right? I wonder when the last time we did win a backtoback was. And to win a back-toback game by 35, what the hell is that? What is that? Like, are we good? I don’t know. I’m not suggesting we are. I’m just genuinely asking the question, is this team good? Am I looking at a good team? Once again, the Pacers are one and 10. So, I’m not just putting it to like this game. This has been a thing that’s been building here. Austin says his team is solid. I I think solid’s a great word for it and I’m fine with solid. Were we solid last year? No, you could not call us solid last year. Book looking solid though. Clip there that we got. I thought that was Brendan Clean talking, but one of you is saying it’s Kellen Olsen. and I have gotten their voices confused uh in the past. So maybe that’s maybe that’s who it was. But the question about have you ever lost your confidence or have you always been this confident? I guess he what he said was there ever a time when you didn’t have this shooting confidence. I just like that he was honest and not egotistical. Right. The egotistical thing would have been to say, “I’m Dylan Brooks. I don’t lose confidence. I create confidence. I am confidence. I’ve never lost my confidence.” Like, of course not. I’m the greatest. That’s the ego thing that I think a lot of players would have said, but instead Yeah. Like, I poke bears, right, Anthony? Like, exactly. But I like the honesty of being like, “Yeah, actually I can think of a time it was during the Lakers series. I lost my confidence and then they told me to stop shooting, which hurt it even worse.” That’s a that’s just like a open like you got to see the real him there. That was cool. That’s fun. But that’s the risk of why you don’t open up and tell the God’s honest truth is because now you got to have a whole bunch of people running with this story that the GM of the Grizzlies told him not to shoot more than six times. That’s going to be something that can drive clicks. And so it’s going to and then front offices will look at Dylan and be like, “Yeah, he’ll badmouth you. He’s not, you know, he’s the type of dude that’ll run his mouth after he leaves, which could get held against him at some point, you know, but I like it. And I I couldn’t be happier with the Dylan Brooks experience so far this season. You know, the one thing I didn’t know about him that I’m learning is how hard he works. He seems like he’s got an addicted to work personality and um it shines through. I’ll tell you, he would not be able to hit the shots that he takes if he didn’t work so hard to acquire the reps, the muscle memory to do it. You could tell he’s a worker. He’s not like God didn’t bless him the way he blessed Devin Booker, but he’s going to get it out of the mud anyways and do it his damn self because that’s an option, too. And he knows that. Yeah. Right, Isaac? I mean, that’s how it comes across. At least it comes across the exact opposite for somebody like DeAndre Aton. You know, Zambuki says, “Brooks has that refuse to be on an ass team energy. I appreciate that refuse to lose attitude. Helps your chance night in and night out.” You know, we really are lucky that we got Brooks in that trade because it’s a crapshoot on whether or not Jaylen Green can play winning basketball, but somebody who absolutely can is Dylan Brooks. He can affect winning, affect culture, and they just were done with him. They didn’t need him. They have um a replacement for Dylan Brooks. What’s his face? Um, what’s my boy’s name? Tari Een over there. He can do what Dylan does and he’s younger and and cheaper, right? And they didn’t want to lose Tari E. So, they were they were done with Dylan Brooks. Dylan Brooks can take a lot of shots that ends up wearing on you after a while as a fan and especially if it’s not going well. It’s all fun in games when he when he goes for 32 like tonight. It’s not very fun when you feel like he’s shooting you out of the game. Um, but we were lucky to get him because we we needed a player with his personality so effing bad we needed him. Like it’s just and I didn’t recognize how bad we needed that. I wanted it to be in the form of Chris Paul, but we’re getting it just as much, if not more, in the form of Dylan Brooks, you know. Oh, that and then some Isaac. Chris Steu says Grayson equals Tammani. In my opinion, Da Stinks is equal to Tammani. Uh, you know, I would say Tammani’s younger, he’s bigger, he’s a better defender. I think in the grand scheme of things, Tammani is probably going to be a better prospect than Grayson, but at least Grayson is the [ __ ] right? He really is. So, that’s another extreme hard worker. And what do you know? You put a bunch of guys and only guys like that in a room together, good things happen. With a coach who is uh addicted to basketball and addicted to getting better and a little bit naturally talented, I think we can all agree, good things are going to happen. and younger with athleticism and bounce and speed and desire this team. I think we just weren’t in the mood to hear anything from the front office last year. You know what I mean? Like we just weren’t in the mood. It’s like, you know what? F you. Oh, you’re going to be tougher next year. Oh, okay. Okay. And and that toughness that’s going to be better than Kevin Durant. Sure. Oh, you’re gonna fight you. You gonna fight next year? Okay. And it’s like, oh [ __ ] look at them fight. They weren’t lying. And how does it work out that everyone is from Michigan State, but things are good? I guess it goes back to what I’ve said before a few times about that. At least Michigan State is a highlevel basketball program. Always has been, always will be. It’s not like we hired everyone from like my team, you know, like Nebraska. It’s not like we brought in the Nebraska basketball program. I’d say Michigan State’s actually always had a really good program to want to emulate. I agree. Dusty is legit. I’m I’m pretty certain he’s legit. Just feels good, man. Just feels good. Brandon B says, “Gabe, out of the all the young guys on the team, who do you think will take the next leap forward of these young guys? Tell me who you think in the in the chat. I don’t know. That’s a tough one. I mean, do you consider Colin Gillespie one of the young guys? Because if you do, that’s where my mind is headed. Yeah, I guess Jaylen Green’s still technically young, too. What’s he 24 23 years old? What if he takes a leap? Something he’s been unable to do so far in his career. He hasn’t grown since his rookie year. He’s always been this good, which is still really good, but he hasn’t gotten better. Matt says if Dunn gets his jump shot to hit, maybe. Yeah, that would open up everything for him because he’s really good at driving the uh to the rim, but it’s tough to drive to the rim when the defense knows good and goddamn well that that’s all you can do. So, they sit back and sag off of you and they take the drive away. What if he had a shot that was consistent and you had to get close to him? Well, whoopsie poopsy, there he goes, flying by me now because I’m out of position because I had to be. And then his defense is already there. His hustle, his rebounding, his blocking shots, it’s all already on par of what you want. Just has to get his offense going. Austin says, “Dun’s jump shot is getting better.” I kind of disagree. I don’t think it’s getting worse. I think it’s stagnant and I think it’s in a valley right now. You know, Eduardo says he turns 24 in November. You’re talking about uh sorry, in February. You’re talking about Jaylen. It’s incredible. Mark Williams is 24, 23 years old. Guys, we need to just lock in with these guys and write it out. Pause. Yeah, Oracle. It’s just they’re saying like quickest. Who’s going to do it the quickest? I don’t know that Man’s going to be the quickest. And I would have thought Dunn would have been breaking out right about meow anyways and he’s not. And Fleming, he’s not getting no minutes either. How’s he going to break out? But guys, we just won a backtoback by 35. The second game of the backtoback, we won by 35. When have you ever been able to say that about the Phoenix Suns? Not never. So, I don’t know where to go from here, man. I guess we just take a look at our next game. Atlanta Hawks. Let’s take a look at what they Look at that. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven out of the last eight games have been wins. Seven out of eight, folks. Seven out of eight. We’re a win. I don’t want to look at the rest of the schedule, though. I’m just going to look at the Hawks because I want to live in this moment. Wow. ESPN’s got them predicted to beat us 60% to 40%. Is that concerning to anybody else? This eight and five Atlanta Hawks team, they have also looks like they’ve won seven out of their last eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven out of their last nine. Uh they’ve put up 130 plus in their last two games and they’ve won four in a row. Going to be interesting. Congu was their leading scoreer in their last game. What’s Trey Young looking like this year? Did Trey not play play? Trey didn’t play. What? Where’s Trey Young? How did I not How How many games has he been out? Bro, I don’t I don’t want to lose to the Hawks without Trey. That’s not going to feel good for the Vibies. How many games has he been out you guys? 133 with no Trey. So I’ll tell you if Jaylen Johnson is really doing the most’s going to come out and have us doubling him. So I’m I’m going to be looking forward to that. Double uh Jaylen Johnson and make Risha beat you. beat the Lakers without Trey. Are we about to find out on Sunday? Are we about to find out? What up, Valdez? Christopher Valdez in the house. So, this will be a good win. I think this is officially like cuz everybody in the chat like we’re happy we’re winning but a lot of you have been saying beat a good team. Can we do it against a good team? I’m going to consider the Atlanta Hawks a good team going forward. So man, stay tuned for that. Uh thank you guys for hanging out. Sorry, Sundo barely was here at all, but we did get some Sundo. Suns win. Suns win by 35 on the second night of a backtoback Suns win. We’ll see you guys Sunday with Sundo. He’ll have bells [Music]
