So, ladies and gentlemen, we have a lot to get into. The biggest thing tonight, obviously, as you saw on the thumbnails, you can see down here. That’s right. Producer RB in the house. I’m running everything at once. I’m doing it all, man. We’re talking, we’re producing, we’re doing it all. We got the thumbnail right here. PG is back. There’s been a mixed reaction today, man. There’s been a mixed reaction, ladies and gentlemen. Are you happy or are you sad or mad or indifferent that Paul George is back? The 34 year old or is did his birthday pass yet? I think it’s in November if I’m not mistaken. Hold on, let me check. Let me fact check myself. His birthday is actually in May, so I was wrong. But he is 35 years old. He is on the second year of a four-year max. We knew that the last year, maybe the last two years would not really be that beneficial, but when they signed PG last year, it was let’s push all the chips in. Obviously, has not played out that way. But the Sixers are seven and five and now Paul George is back. Are you happy or are you frustrated that PG is back? That is what I want to know in the chat. Listen man, you may not like PG. He certainly had some crazy comments last year. I mean, he had the whole thing where I think it was two days or three days or one day maybe before Joel Embiid was ruled out the rest of the season, he went on his podcast and he said, “I am finally going to give up podcasting. I’m locking in the gym. I’m getting my body right.” It was just the worst like PR stunt I’ve ever seen in my life. Paul George was terrible off the floor last year. On the floor, he also had one of his worst years, but he had like five knee injuries in the first month of the season. So, he never really got right. You know, I I can’t really say that Paul George was ever at full strength. I mean, you look at his numbers last year, he averaged 16 points a game, five rebounds, four assists, and almost two steals. There were games, there were moments where he showed that, you know, he could be that third guy. But I think it’s important to realize that he is supposed to be the third guy, right? Like there’s a game or games moments where he has to take over, but especially now, and we’ve seen this with Joel Embiid early near when he was on the floor, the young guys can take over, right? PG’s got to play his role. I know he’s being paid $53 million, but you got to play your role. And I want to see what he looks like getting back into shape tonight. They had not cleared him yet because, you know, he had to strengthen his quad. Like his body has been breaking down. But simply put, and I’m going to get to my rant here in a minute, okay? Paul George has to give the Sixers some kind of value. Whether that’s 15 points a game, whether that’s 40% on threes, whether that’s the best perimeter defense on the team, especially now with Kelly Ubé out, Paul George is going to have to step up. So, that’s really what I’ll say about PG. Um, other than that, we got some things to talk about. Okay, as I predicted and the Clippers fans were talking a lot of talk this past off season. If you don’t remember, the Sixers have the Clippers unprotected first round pick in 2028. They have their uh first round pick swap in 2029. This is all a part of the James Harden trade. The Sixers won the James Harden trade twice. And I said that the Clippers were not going to be good this year, that they were too old. They went out signed a bunch of 30-year-olds and so far I’m being proven right. The Los Angeles Clippers are four and n on the season. They have lost seven out of their last eight games. The only game they won was a doubleot game where James Harden actually had a 40point triple double 41 point triple double and it was against the measly Mavericks who right now look absolutely terrible. So, if we’re thinking about all this, man, the Clippers have not been good. And they’re also severely banged up. I mean, we we look at their injury report tonight. Bradley Beal is out for the season already with a hip fracture. Kawhi Leonard’s got an ankle sprain and a foot sprain. He’s out for a while. Jordan Miller’s out. Derrick Jones Jr.’s out. And Bo Don Bdonovich is questionable, but has not been playing a lot. So, we look at the Clippers roster. They’re old. They feel like a team headed for a rebuild even though they’re probably not going to do that because they have a new arena and they’re trying to make money. Simply put, the Clippers are not good. Okay. Now, on the Sixers side of things, Joel Embiid is out again with knee soreness. And we got an update pregame from coach Nick Nurse who says, quote, “He’s okay. He’s just not pain-free yet. He’s daytoday getting better, and I don’t think he is far away from playing. So, going back to uh media day and training camp, we are looking at the Philadelphia dayto days again. Joel Embiid is dayto-day. Kelly Ubé got hurt last game. They said he had an LCL injury and they were going to do more testing to determine the extent of the injury. Adam Dem Bona is out for at least the next three games with an ankle injury. Jared McCain got a couple games down in the G-League. They said he’s now wearing a compression sleeve. So Jared McCain is good to return tonight. We’ll see if he plays at all. He doesn’t know uh what his role is going to be. And that’s where we’re at. So the Sixers are also banged up like the Clippers, but the Clippers are old and they’re not good. They remind me a lot of the Sixers from a couple years ago. So, when I look at all that, I mean, we’ll talk about this game. You know, we’ll get into our predictions, but this is a game the Sixers have to win. I mean, they blew that game on Saturday night or excuse me, Friday night against the Detroit Pistons where the Pistons were down six starters. Yeah, they were on an eightgame win streak, but that was the worst loss of the season. It was absolutely inexcusable and there was no way for the Sixers to lose that game. Sixers should have won that game and they need a big bounce back tonight. So, that’s where we’re at. Uh Sixers need this win. It’s going to be a tough week. You got the Clippers and then you have the Milwaukee Bucks and then you have the What team am I forgetting? Is it the Raptors again? It’s the Clippers, someone the Bucks, and then Miami. So, this is going to be a very tough week uh for the 76ers. Hold on, let me look up the schedule here. I forget. I think it’s the Raptors, right? Yeah, it’s the Raptors. So, the Clippers, Raptors, Bucks, and Heat. Those are the next uh four games. So, this is going to be a big game tonight. Sixers have to get this win. Sixers are at 17th defensively. The Clippers are at 25. So the Clippers are in the lower third in offense and defense. They have one good rebounder in Avita Zubots. They have one bucket getter in James Harden. Kawhi Leonard’s out right now. Derek Jones is out. Bradley Beal’s out. CP3 is getting dnpedd. Clippers just don’t have any depth at all. So when I look at this Sixers team, they have been a middle of the pack team. They have been more fun than we expected, but they also have some really frustrating losses because I feel like they’ve played good enough to be 10 and two if I’m being honest. Like two or three of those losses should have been wins. Will Paul George make an impact against his former team? We will see. But that’s where we’re at, man. Um I think the Sixers are the better team tonight. I think they’re the better team. I think Maxi’s going to pull out a couple James Harden tricks out of the bag tonight. You know, we’ve seen that little crossover step back. I think Maxi’s going to drop 35. Might take a lot of shots, but I think he’s going to have one or two big quarters. And I said the following. It might be time to have an uncomfortable conversation about the 76ers. Now, maybe that is a followup on last year, but here’s what I’m gonna say, man, because everybody assumed that it was solely about Joel Embiid and that I’m saying trade Jombb. Here’s what I actually meant. Okay, the 76ers continue to get more injured. They continue to get more injured. But simply put, man, Sixers get a big comeback win, another fourth quarter comeback win in another cardiac game, and we’re going to break it all down right here on Philly Take with RB. Time to break this one down because ladies and gentlemen, if there are two things in life that I know amongst everything else that we have been through with this team, two things that I know about the Philadelphia 76ers is that one, they are going to make every game as cardiac as possible. And number two, former Sixer James Harden will disappear in the bright lights. James Harden had 17 points in the first quarter. He had 18 at halftime. He went 0 for seven from the field in the second half. The 76ers were down by 10 entering the fourth quarter. It felt like they had all of this work done in the third quarter and they’re cutting the lead and they’re bringing it down to seven and six and five and they keep bringing it to six. That’s the magic number, six. And anytime they did that, the Clippers hit a big three to get it back. But you know what? There’s a certain man named Tyrese Maxi who a lot of people were starting to get down on. Mostly because the rest of his supporting cast is not there. They’ve been injured. They’ve been out. But one thing I know about Tyrese Maxi is he’s going to go down swinging. This guy drops 39 points, 27 in the second half. How about 14 in the fourth quarter, nine for 10 from the free throw line, four triples, six assists, three boards. Tyrese Maxi singlehandedly carried this team and put them on his back in this game. Tyresese Maxi won this basketball game and he is absolutely the MVP of this ball game and it’s crazy when you think about all the influence and we talked about all of it with James Harden during the live game show about how it’s like a lovehate relationship, right? Because he disappears in the big moments and you know they never got to achieve their goal and they got close just like every other Sixers team. But when it’s all said and done, James Harden did have a lot of impact on Tyrese Maxis’s career. He had a lot of influence on the way he plays, on the way he looks at the floor, the way he handles the rock. And you saw that as Tyrese Maxi cashes in a big time three late over James Harden. And after the game was done, he came right up to Harden, who by the way had not one but two attempts on the final play of the game, and he missed them both. And unfortunately, Sixer fans know that site all too well. Andre Drummond is a freaking mammoth. This guy can play some of the best and worst basketball in the same game. I don’t know how he does it, but Andre Drummond was absolutely huge in the absence of Embiid. No bona. The Sixers are playing Watford and Barlo at the back of five. Drummond had to play good minutes. and he gives you 18 boards, 14 points. He hits two of the clutchest free throws ever. Andre Drummond can shoot threes and he can hit free throws. This is a changed man. I don’t know how he keeps doing this, but as much crap as we’ve given Drummond, we have to give him credit. This guy is playing his tail off. And ladies, ladies and gentlemen, after a couple game or honestly maybe a four or five game absence, Quinton Grimes emerges in the fourth quarter, hits a couple big time threes, a big time dunk off a give and go out of a timeout, and he played some great defense on James Harden late in this game. This was the Quinton Grimes we had become accustomed to seeing early in the season. And last but not least, we have to give a shout out to Paul George. No, he didn’t play well today. No, he did not contribute like we thought he could, but he played 21 minutes. He only dropped nine points. Paul George went two for nine with nine points in his debut, but he had seven boards. He had three assists, two blocks. He started this game out on a 5-0 run by himself before the Clippers went on a 140 run. And it was just nice to see one of their Max players back out on the floor. Hopefully they’ll get Joel Embiid back soon, but Paul George is going to have to become acclimated. But I think what we’re seeing is that again, this is Tyrese Maxis’s offense and his team. And yes, they’re going to need Joel Embiid back on the floor. Yes, they’re going to need Paul George back on the floor. But even if not, Tyrese Maxi can get it done. Tyrese Maxi may not win every game by himself, but the problem is not Tyrese Maxi. it is not having the supporting cast there and Nick Nurse for about two and a half quarters of this game was abysmal. Then then in the third quarter he started to make adjustments once Nick Nurse actually started to coach this basketball game and he started trapping and blitzing James Harden getting the ball out of his hands after a hot first quarter. Once Nick Nurse started to actually run some plays in the fourth quarter out of timeouts and once he started to make some rotation adjustments, the Sixers actually started playing well. Genius. When your coach makes in-game adjustments, the team plays better. And that was how this game went. And we’re going to talk about what happened in the final minutes. But again, like that third quarter, the 76ers come out and it feels like they did miles of work just to end up where they were at halftime. I mean, they were down and then in the third quarter, they’re still down by 10 going into the fourth quarter. But in the fourth quarter, what I saw was a big interior presence from Andre Drum. I saw Tyrese Maxi literally take over. Maxi had 13 in the third quarter, 14 in the fourth quarter, and VJ Edgeo missed a couple big clutch free throws in the fourth quarter, but you know what he did? He came back, he had a big uh rebound after a missed box out. Uh, excuse me, missed box out. I’m tripping over my words right now. VJ Edgecom had a big rebound after a missed box out and then he made a big play on the defensive end. And for a lot of this game, it felt like the Sixers were the older team. I mean, if we’re being honest, you’re coming into this game going up against the oldest team in the league who has an average age of 30 plus. They’re the oldest team by two plus years. And they were also on the second of a road back to back. So, there was no business for the Clippers to be in this game. But the 76ers once again who have to make every game difficult come out and claw their way back. And I feel like it should be easier. I feel like it should be much easier than they’re making it. But nonetheless, the 76ers do what they have to do. And it took 27 points off the bench from Quinton Grimes and Trendan Watford and blanks from the rest. So we’re going to talk about Jared McCain in a little bit. Just another cardiac win, man. This team cannot stop raising our blood pressure. They cannot stop making these games spicy at the end. I mean, like I said, man, the Clippers had no business being in this game, but they were, and I give them credit for that. And why do I think they were in this game? Well, for one, I think Avita Zubots posed a huge threat to Andre Drummond early. Zubots had 14 and 13. I mean, if you had told me at the end of this game that Drummond would outrebound Zubots, I would have said, “You’re crazy.” But hats off to Andre Drummond. I thought this was one of his best games of the year. And without his impact on the floor in the second half, Sixers do not win this game. Sixers do not win this game, man. All right, let’s talk about the fourth quarter, man. And I I don’t want to try to forget anything, so I’m going to do my best here. But like I said, the Sixers are down by 10. They keep cutting the lead down to six. Six is the magic number. They keep cutting it down to six. Andre Drummond makes a couple shots. Maxi making a couple threes. Then Chris Paul would answer with one. Or, you know, uh who was it? Um why am I blanking on his name? Chris Dunn would answer with a bucket. or Kobe Sanders, a first round pick, and John Collins got fouled. The refs, I thought, bailed the Clippers out like crazy late in this game. There was a couple challenge calls. You had the one at the end that got challenged, but you know, Andre Drummond boxes out Kobe Sanders on a rebound and they call a foul. Then we go to a 10-minute commercial because they have to challenge it. I just thought the refs were really bailing the Clippers out late. John Collins got a couple free free throws. But anyway, we get down towards the end of the game and the 76ers decide to keep Trenan Watford in the game with Andre Drummond and they keep Maxi, VJ, and Grimes. That is their closing lineup. And James Harden dates VJ Edgecomb on a three-point foul. Ends up making all three. Then you had the play where VJ doesn’t box out. And then VJ comes back and he redeems himself. He hits a go-ahead three-point shot with 418 to go. Then he gets a big defensive rebound, gives it to Grimes who makes a shot. Then we have the Drummond foul. Kobe Sanders gets two free throws. Then you have an after timeout play where Nick Nurse actually draws something up. Nice. Grimes quick inbound. Boom. Give and go cut. And then Clippers are fighting back. Then it was Grimes with a big shot. Then it was Tyrese Maxi with a big-time three over James Harden to make it a four-point game. I thought that the 76ers just continued to have answer after answer after answer in the fourth quarter. And I couldn’t say that for the first three and a half quarters, the first three quarters, every time the Sixers got it down to a six-point lead, the Clippers would hit a three right back. something would happen, a foul or a crazy player, whatever it is, and the Clippers would get that momentum right back. But in the fourth quarter, as it’s been all season, the Sixers are the best fourth quarter team in the NBA. They continued to fight. I feel like they sped the game up. It was funny because at halftime, I called them I I said my one word was slow motion. That’s how I described this game. And there was no reason for the LA Clippers who are 30 million years old and on the second of a backto-back to be playing the way that they did and also looking much faster than you. But anyway, two minutes to go in this game. They bail out John Collins again, give him free throws. Maxi, I thought had maybe his worst shot of the game, which was a step back three. I don’t know why the Sixers kept chucking up threes, but they were um they kind of got tight in the last few minutes. But then you have the challenge where the 76ers get a rebound and then the Sixers challenge the whole um the foul thing. So they ended up overturning that call. The Sixers get their timeout back. Then you have the Andre Drummond free throws, which were literally so clutch for this team. It’s a four-point game. Then a couple bad passes, a missed three. It’s a five-point game. Then here come the Clippers again. 15 seconds to go and Tyrese Maxi throws the ball away. And again, I’m not saying Maxi played perfect, but he did enough offensively where you can’t be mad that he threw a turnover. You can’t be mad that he chucked up a bad shot because without Tyrese Maxi scoring punch, they don’t win this game. But the Clippers bring the ball down the floor. VJ ends up fouling Sanders. Sanders makes both at the line. Then we have a crazy play. And I don’t know if this is more on Nick Nurse. Uh I don’t even know who was inbounding. Watford, I think, but with 11.7 to go. I believe the Sixers had timeouts remaining. They try to quickly rush the ball into Tyrese Maxi and it was in double coverage. I don’t know why they did it, but they get it into Maxi. Batum pokes the ball away. They initially call a foul. Once again, another bad call by the refs. They go to the scorers table for 10 more minutes and they rule that it was not a foul and the call is overturned and the Clippers get the ball back. And I know everybody, including myself at that point, is breathing deep. Our hearts are pumping and we’re like, “Holy crap, here we go. This is setting up to be a disaster just like Friday night where you had no business losing to the Pistons down six players.” But the Clippers draw up a play. They get it to James Harden. And I got to give uh credit to Quinton Grimes. Plays great defense. Harden misses the step back three. You know, they were going for the kill play. They wanted the gamewinner. Harden misses it. ball bounces to the corner and then James Harden has another chance to win it and he comes up short again and it goes back to what I said. As great as James Harden is in the regular season, as great as he has been throughout his career, a first ballot hall of famer, as great as all that is, that last third, fourth quarter, you know, last six minutes, whatever you want to look at, is an epitome of James Harden’s career. when the lights got bright, when they needed him to get a clutch bucket, he disappeared. And that is why the 76ers won this game. I give Harden credit for coming out on a heater, 17 in the first quarter. It should have never come down to this. The 76ers have to figure out their identity early in the game. They have to be able to put teams away. Right now, they can’t do it. And you know what? We can say it as much as we want. Well, when Joel Embiid gets back and when this happens, you know, maybe, just maybe, we can end up putting teams away and maybe we’ll be more dominant and maybe we’ll be able to do this and that. But you know what, ladies and gentlemen, we cannot we cannot continue to just do this every game. The Sixers are going to burn themselves out if they continue to come down to the wire every single game. It just cannot have it’s not sustainable. And as much as we want to say, well, when the full team is healthy, well, is the team ever going to be healthy? I mean, Joel Embiid was out tonight again with knee soreness, knee pain. Nick Nuret will be back soon. Kelly Ubé is now out. Admone is now out for the next three games. You got Paul George back, which was nice. Jared McCain. I mean, should we talk about him? I almost don’t even want to talk about Jared McCain because I’m embarrassed. I’m embarrassed for Nick Nurse not playing Jared McCain. And I don’t want to hear any excuses about, “Oh, well, he’s still hurt. Oh, Jared McCain is still hurt. Oh, Jared McCann is this. If you watch the last two games in the G-League, Jared McCain moved around very fine. He was very fluid. I don’t know how many points he dropped, but he dropped a good amount. And yesterday when they spoke to Jared McCain, he said, “I’m now playing with a knee sleeve on. It is much better.” He called the brace that he had before a another leg on top of his leg. That’s how much it was annoying him. But now he has a sleeve on. And you’re telling me their first round pick from last year who looked like a gem can’t get on the floor? You’re telling me they can’t get Jared McCain on the floor more than five minutes? That’s embarrassing. He still has zero points on the season. I mean, are we kidding me? But anyway, y’all let me know what you think about Jared McCain. I’m glad that he’s not playing the old heads. I’m glad they’re staying young. Nick Nurse does this thing where he sits the power forward to begin the third quarter. I don’t know why he keeps doing that, but that’s like his new thing. Um, so yeah, I mean, I feel like we should see more of Jabari Walker, who only had four minutes in this game. I feel like we should see more of other players. Maybe they’ll try Broom one game. I don’t know. But with how young the Sixers are compared to the Clippers, with how fresh they are, this is a game that they should have put away. I thought the Sixers really struggled at the free throw line tonight. I mean, that was a big reason why this team was behind. If you look at the Clippers, Harden, I think, went what, 12 for 12 at the line? Yeah, 12 for 12 for James Harden. Clippers shot 96% at the line. 26 of 27. Sixers shot 70% 21 of 30 at the free throw line for the Sixers. That just can’t happen. I mean, the Sixers, you know, it it was a great rebounding matchup. Like I said, Drummond did his thing against Zubots. I didn’t expect them to, but he did. Sixers didn’t turn the ball over a lot late, and they, you know, they played a lot better defense in the second half. I feel like they come out right out of the gate in these games and they leave guys wide open and it like takes them 20 minutes to really get their flow going. But I called this game from the beginning. I’m trying to remember what my final score was. I think I said 124 112. So it was a bit low scoring compared to what I thought. But I said that James Harden is prone to disappearing in the big moments. And I said Tyrese Maxi would have two great runs in this game. And that’s exactly what happened. 13 in the third, 14 in the fourth. And I’m not trying to sound like I’m complaining, but you know, it feels like one of those games where it’s like, man, like, should we be fully content with how they played tonight? Because it’s just not going to be sustainable every single game. I mean, let’s put it into perspective for a second. The LA Clippers, they were 4-9. They’re now 4-10. They had lost seven out of their last eight coming into this game. And they had lost last night to the Celtics in Boston. So, they hopped on a jet. They came they came to Philadelphia for an early game. And keep in mind, they’re a West Coast team. And they’re also 40 years old. And for two quarters, they were out running your team. I just don’t think that is something that we should just be 100% blindly optimistic about. That just can’t happen. Now, the Clippers have lost eight out of their last nine. By the way, I told y’all the Clippers were not going to be good this year. And I know this might sound a little homerish, but I think that the 76ers woes are self-inflicted, man. Like, I’m watching this game and I’m I’m thinking about the early games of the season, right? And I know they’re not going to be able to play a million miles an hour every game, but you’re seeing how the Clippers are playing. And I’m thinking about the Sixers and it’s like for two and a half quarters every game the game plan has now shifted to hey Tyrese Maxi go play hero ball take a million shots everybody else stand in the corner and wait. That’s how I’m feeling man. That’s how I’m feeling. I love Tyrese Maxi. I just think that they’re going to burn him out at this rate. Another 41 minutes played tonight. 39 points for Tyrese Maxi. He played phenomenal. He’s averaging what? 42 minutes a game, most in the league. I mean, it’s just you’re you’re going to have to find a different way to win. Maybe that is getting Joel Embiid back, but again, they need him back. Trying to think what else I have on this game, man. Uh, Andre Drummond was phenomenal. Tyrese Maxi put the team on his back. Paul George, let’s talk about Paul George a little more, then we’ll get to the phones. Um, Paul George did not look that good. He did other things. I give him credit for impacting the game in other ways. And we talked about it in the pregame show. I said, “Listen, man. Paul George is going to have to understand, similar to Joel Embiid, that this is not his team every night. This is not your offense. We know you’re getting paid a max contract. We need you on the floor for certain things, but we don’t really need you running the offense, man.” I thought in the first quarter it felt like it almost felt like the Eagles with AJ Brown. It felt like they were trying to force the ball to Paul George. Maxi was sitting on the wing. It felt like Paul George took 10 shots in a row. And obviously I’m exaggerating, but it was just Paul George offense. Then it started to become Tyrese Maxi offense. I thought Dominic Barlo made a couple nice big plays in the weeds. Three steals for Barlo, right? Like you have these weapons that you can use. Drummond, even in the post, I thought he was fine. Um Trenan Watford, you know, coming off the bench tonight. I wasn’t mad at that. I wasn’t mad at that. I kind of like Dominic Barlo in the starting five more than Trenan Watford just because I like his ability to rebound. I like his ability to I don’t know like he just does the little things man that I feel like this team is missed. And I know Wadford’s more of like a finesse player and I know he had a couple big games and a big triple double but you could just see it. And I think Nick Nurse finally sees that Barlo it like he just he’s a great glue guy. You know, Dominic Barlo, he’s just I love his game. I love his game. And I like how Nick Nurse with no backup center put Barlo at the backup five for some of these stretches. He did it with Watford and Walker early on and then he did it with Watford and Barlo. And Barlo just makes winning plays. So, that’s what I really enjoyed from this game. I think you still got to get VJ more in open space. He had a couple big threes, but he still is not looking like he did in the first few games. He had five fouls tonight. Watford had five fouls. Yeah, I just think he needs some more variety. I I I don’t think you can play hero ball with Tyrese Maxi every single night for a guy that’s averaging above 40 minutes a game, you know, and maybe Paul George can take some of that burden off of Tyrese Maxi, but they let Paul George try to run the show in the first quarter. There was a couple times that he blew by James Harden. There was a couple points where he made separation. There was a foul where PG kept going and then he threw down a one-handed dunk even though it didn’t count, but it was nice to see him jump, you know, like he showed a couple bursts of of athleticism, but how sustainable can it really be, you know, and then he disappeared? So, I don’t know, man. I don’t know. Um yeah, the story of the game was the Sixers came alive in the fourth quarter as they usually do. Tyrese Maxi dropped 27 points in the second half and James Harden disappeared. And that Clippers team is old and they’re not good. And now they are 4-10. And as I predicted, they are going to very much benefit the 76ers because the Sixers own their unprotected 2028 first round pick. They own the pick swap in 2029 and it is all thanks to James Harden. So that is how I feel about this game. Uh the Sixers still are not at full health and who knows if they will get there. It sucks that they’re missing some of the pieces they are. It would be nice to see Joel Embiid come back next game and have the whole group play together, especially because looking forward, you have the Toronto Raptors and the Milwaukee Bucks on a backtoback and then you have Miami who’s been playing pretty well. I think that Quinton Grimes made an impact in the fourth quarter, but I would be doing a disservice if I did not give the player of the game to Tyrese Maxi. I haven’t disagreed with all of it, but I’ve been trying to make the point that, you know, there’s still other players on this team, on this offense that need to contribute. So, it can’t just be Tyrese Maxi. But tonight, the way he took over in the second half and dropped 27 points, I mean, you just can’t argue with the impact that he had. So, I’m giving it to Tyrese Maxi tonight, man. I mean, there’s no doubt about it. No doubt about it. So, that’s how I feel. That’s how I feel. Um, yeah. I mean, Drummond’s a close second, but Max’s got to take it. I’ve just been I’m really surprised with how good Drummond is playing. I’m really surprised with how Drummond is playing. And I give him a lot of crap, but without Joel Embiid, without a Demona, like Drummond really did his thing, man. He really did his thing, man. He was physical, too. It’s just wild because Drummond really Drummond really does come out in these games and look terrible for like five minutes. In the first quarter, I literally said Drummond was gonna have a stretch of like 10 rebounds, and that’s what he did. Like, it’s crazy what he does, man. Matter of fact, let me see if I can uh let me see if I can break it down by quarter. How many boards did he have in the second half? I mean, he was just he was everywhere, man. He’s a traditional big in the modern day. He had two boards in the third and five in the fourth. So, seven rebounds in the second half and they were big, man. They were big. I’m not saying they’re going to win the championship, but they have more than enough depth on this team. Like last year they had a couple gem role players and this year they have these role players that they’re pulling out of left field. Don Barlo and Trendan Watford and obviously Quinton Grimes, right? But like Jabari Walker, like they’re getting more production than we expected from these guys. So once again, it comes back to the stars. You’ve had $100 million sitting on the bench. Get Paul George on the floor consistently, get Joel Embiid on the floor. But see, what we can’t do is we can’t have one of them play a backtoback. Like now we got everybody on minute restrictions. We got PG on a 20 20 minute restriction tonight. We still don’t know about Embiid, but he’s been on a no backtoback restriction. Jared McCain only played five minutes tonight. So quite honestly, man, I mean, they’re gonna have to figure this out. Like, you got too much talent on this team. I just I I think Nurse really needs to go and take a step back to what the team did early in the season. I just feel like they got guys more open shots than they are now. I think that’s what I’m trying to say. Like I feel like for the last five games for two and a half quarters are just running around like chickens without heads and Maxi’s just trying to play hero ball. Get other guys involved. Like he started playing very, very well, especially hitting those two free throws in the end of the fourth quarter. Like those were definitely big until the game itself. Yeah. Yeah, man. Anything else you got for me, Cool Jay? Um, I think the things that the couple things you said you, you know, that seems to work on. I mean, definitely, you know, free throw wise, they have to start making free throws like, you know, definitely they have the chance to leave a huge problem and definitely starting out the h second half, the first the first half of the game like definitely, you know, they started playing, you know, very slow, small ball, but you can’t do that. you have to start, you know, start strong on the jump and keep that lead all the way to the end of the game. Like because if you do that then then, you know, like I said, Clippers start taking advantage of it and that’s going to cost you big especially when you have these first couple of games against the Raptors, the Bucks, like those teams, especially, you know, you know, teams like like Giannis, like they can definitely try to capitalize on that those opportunities. I agree, man. It’s going to be a telling week for sure, but this was a win that they needed, especially after the last game. especially after that that loss.
