I wonder who we will trade for now
Personally, I think this is a blessing in disguise. I think we can do much better than Taylor Ward. Also, I’m absolutely gobsmacked that the Orioles gave up on Grayson. I know he’s been oft injured, but damn, he has stuff. Maybe he’ll be another Kevin Gausman case study.
Ragans has one less year of control than Rodriguez.
Cameron has two more years of control than Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was a top 10 prospect and has performed in the middle of the other two as well.
So if the Royals got in on the discussion, you can assume the Angels asked for Ragans. I absolutely wouldn’t make that deal for a year of Ward. So good for the Angels and good for them for trying to acquire pitching in the offseason for once.
Yeah that seems like an overpay from the O’s even if Grayson is injured often. Glad we didn’t try to beat it.

Gleyber, Grishom, and Ward all off the table in the same day. Wonder if we’ll get something done this offseason, or have a repeat of last offseason.
I’d rather do a Yaz/Lane Thomas platoon than trade for Ward.
