Winnipeg Jets vs. Columbus Blue Jackets – Game Highlights
as Taves, speaking of Winnipeg born players, faces off against Coyle and we are underway here at Canada Life Center. Thrown into the zone and Cylinger will poke it behind the net. Stanley gets there. This can be an effective third line for Columbus. Charlie Coyle centers it with Cylinger and Rugen Matthew Olivier who goes to the front of the net and that first shot is stopped and held by Con. So the Jets four for eight in their last three games in the power play after going 0 for 14 in the previous four. Shot by Punk is stopped. Domestic to Peock in this early power play. Domestic sets it up for Knight with Delay. Shoots. That was really his only option. It was stopped by Mers Lincoln. Columbus on the penalty kill. They did not allow a Canadian’s power play last night. The Messikov Nquist and back. The shot right on Lincoln spotted off. Clearing attempt knocked away and held by Nyquist. He’ll set it up again. Half of the penalty is over. Most shot right on and squeezed by Merl Lick on her four game point streak. Two goals and five points. He’s got 22 on the season and finds Valardi. Goes to the net. Connor tipped it right on goal. Forcing Mleans to make the save. He didn’t freeze it. A rather casual play by the Columbus net minder. Didn’t come back and hurt him. And the play goes on. Knocked ahead by Monahan. He only has one even strength goal this year. 19 games, two in total. Of course, former Jet 34 games a couple of years ago. Shikley in the corner. Samberg’s at the blue line. He’ll take it. Fire it right away. That hit corner or maybe Roberov again. Samberg swept it over to Peock. Shot stopped by Mleakans and Monahan will haul that in. And then they signed him to a four-year deal. So he makes good value on his pickup and earned a lot of trust. Chased down by Lowry. Back to the line. Pian is locked and loaded. He gives it to the corner. Need a rider. Lowry scores. The first of the year for the captain has the Jets in the lead after coming back missing the beginning of the season and look at the little chip to space. Need a rider and Lowry hunts it down. He gets his own loose puck and now everybody spreads out and look at that. Near Rider fades away and attack the net from below the hash marks. This is where this trio does by far their best work. 35 tees it up from the former longtime Duck shot it through a crowd and loose. Severson is in there. He ran out of room. Tries to chip it in. Coy out of his net was open on the left but Connor could not control that puck. Now Olivier to a dashing cylinder drops it. Olivier with a drive knocked away by Coy. Olivier second in penalty minutes last year in the league. He also had 18 goals. He’s got side of the goal poked at by Samberg and now Shley is there. outlet to be on an assist on that Lowry goal. Tanner Pearson splitting the D. Walks right into the back hand and MSAN made the save as Pearson was looking for his second goal. Get the feel on he’s feeling it. Does a nice job using his speed. Look at the way he just splits the defense on the backand tries to solve Lincoln’s five hole. This is a great drive. A fourthline shift that do not want the Jets defense to be able to manipulate the puck in the ozone. Damon Severson with a bit of time. Snatch up. Great stuff by Conry. Redirect in front by Johnson. Clearly their best chance and a fine save right there. Tuck will work it back and Wood had a nice rush to the net earlier. Gives it to Johnson who places that low. Johnson 57 points last year. He’s five this season. Now some skating room for Jonathan Taves. Taves improves his angle. Domestic with a shot stopped by Mers Lincoln who’s Olivier back to the blue line. Christensen. Fat roll back for Christensen as he gets on the move. Snap shot stick save. Conry rescued again by Coyle. Val Connor trying to direct that cross ice kick the hit from Archenko and he’ll swivel back and pick it up. Pretty good pass to Wood. Backhander big rebound but Vardi was right where he should have been. He’ll play it off the glass and a twoon two developing. Bouncing puck though that slowed Shikeley a little bit. He’ll scoop that in and collide with mate. Monahan played it up the boards and got his back. He’ll stride through center finding Severson. That drive Monahan. Severson shot and coming in and tipping it. I don’t think he is a poor line player. I don’t think this is where he’s going to end up. But man, he has blended extremely nice with Pearson and Morgan Baron so far. Adding some nice skill. He’s got a shot and a takeaway now. Some great speed by Wood who’s in a loan. Penalty coming up and he scores. Wood with a nice finish. He beats Comry and ties the game at one. This is a guy that skates. He’s a straight line player. Elevated from the fourth line last game playing on the wing with Shawn Monahan’s line. And look at that. He catches the Jets defense a little bit flatfooted and it was going to be a delayed penalty. It was going to be a penalty shot. Dished behind the goal. Domestic drags it along. Glad me a Dylan. Sber shot kick save. A good one by Mercy gets again to Mstikov as he poked it wide. Columbus looking for its first lead late in period one. Poke past Samberg Coyle centering pass trying to find it and now the whistle blow here in the next couple of weeks again the first of three game home stand and then on the road again. Washington, Carolina, Nashville, Buffalo and Montreal after that. But first things first as the second period has begun. Oinsky hopped on. Need a Ryder picked up the puck and he finds a trailing Shen. and he’ll bring it in. Luke Shen fires it right on goal and looking for a rebound that did not occur. Morsy moves it to Dello. A little pressure from Johnson. He’ll move it up the boards and Connor related on fine play. Shley three Jets are up on the attack. Shley center pass score and Shley’s and it’s 2-1. Morsy was in front and he redirects it in. A nice job on the back hand from Dlo. A chip to space and speed from Connor to Shipley. And look at Shike just waiting for his buddy to arrive on time. We talked about the defense from Columbus scoring goals. Shot ahead by Stanley, but he couldn’t clear the zone. Zack Ashlin Ree, Hobie Baker finalist back 2017. He threw it. Severson moved it. Olivier paddle it back smartly. Coyle driving the net. Cylinger. Siliger chipped it on goal and Conry made the first save and got the rebound too. Peter Ryder works behind the net. He gave it to Nyquisk. Peock’s got the heavy shot. Nyquis Peock fire. Scores. Watch number 19 Medfront battling in the trenches. This is a nice job. He gets a little help from Domestic as well. So I talked earlier about stuffing down low. You go to the goal line and you make a play and then you get the puck up high. Getting back to true form, isn’t he, Dan? Now that he’s back with with Samberg. It’s not just because of Samberg, but five shots in his last two games. An assist and now a two-point game. Getting back to what they needed to be. In on that goal by Morrisy. A really nice pass right at the goal mouth. Morrisy picks it off at center. Sends it ahead. Shley immediately gave it to Kyle Connor. Changing speed. Connor short angle shot. He scores. [Music] Four to one. Defense to offense. Josh Morsy right where he needs to be to end that play. And now you catch the other team in transition. Inside out stutter step from Connor and a little sneeze to the top corner that comes off of his stick. Awfully fast undamental hockey. Nothing wrong with that shot. Go to the net. Rebound. Almost capitalized. Samberg will turn. Pon beats him to the loose puck. He absorbed a bump from Olivier. A chance for Cylinder. Winsky right on. Score. Winsky with goals and two straight. They get that one right back. And once again it’s a twogoal game. going and expecting a shot. Nearly scored on the rebound, but instead it’s Columbus. And look at the way they use the width. It goes 80 ft side to side. Cylinger gives it to Warren. Check it out. This is how you protect the lead and play with the lead. Two goals up. Third period. Shley doesn’t try to make a play on entry. Logan Stanley scores. [Music] [Applause] bomb at the end of a shift from the top line who’s just grinding, preserving the lead, keeping the puck safe. A little backhanded compliment from Mark Shley at the end of a shift. Look at this. Two guys to him and he opens up a lane for Stanley who sends an absolute scut to this top corner. Check this angle out. Top corner now to Coyle. Five left in the power play. Shot by Ciger. It’s blocked. Here’s a chance. What a step up by comry as he stole Johnson at the end of the penalty. [Music] Delaloo reaching in on him as is Fabro. Good pass to the point. Samber tip big stop rebound and another good save. Left leg both times by Mers Lincoln on the wall. Keep it there. Win battles. Tire your opponent and when you do you do that float a high shot. Two different chances. Four lines, 6D and Eric Comry. Everybody had a piece of this one. That was a complete effort. I I would say right up there. Yeah, they’re just going to burn it.

Go Jets Go ❤😊😊😊
"Hug of the Night" goes to Scheifele after Logan launched a missile into the top corner.
Comrie played excellent tonight
Ever go to a game then watch the highlights hoping to see yourself? I didn't see myself but I know I was there. Best thing about going to a Jets game is the Mac & Cheese Jumbo Jet with bacon, I didn't eat since breakfast so I'd have room in my belly.
Who is tall, a wall, some of the biggest balls and the fastest shot of them all….?
STANLEY! …I leapt outta my couch! And Shief's huge ass grin after that amazing set up for a buddy! What a moment for the season highlights!
