Tennessee Titans fan reaction to THE TRUTH about Ran Carthon and Mike Vrabel
Tennessee Titans fans, we got a little bit of Tennessee Titans drama on this Thursday afternoon. Some of the ghosts of the Titans past kind of starting to talk a little bit about what might have happened and what might have not happened regarding their leaving the organization. I’m talking about former GM Ran Carthon and former head coach Mike Vrabel. Now, earlier this week, before I show you this clip, Mike Vrabel talked about the rumors that the Titans were unwilling to make a trade with the Patriots at the trade deadline this year because Amy didn’t want to do business with Mike Vrabel in that way. Vrabel pretty much said he has not spoken to Amy since the day he was fired, and any rumors with the two of them should not be treated with any credibility at all because they have not spoken. Now, that was a separate issue. This is Ran Carthon on a podcast talking about his leaving the Titans, being fired by the Titans, and some reports that might not have been true. Listen, like there was a lot of out there about he and I not getting along. Like that wasn’t true. Talking about there was never a moment where we didn’t get along. And truth be told, um my daughter, she’s just got home from practice. She’s walking through the house. probably the first few months after Vaves got let go, like the screen saver on her phone was a picture of her and Braves from from pregame because they had a they had a really close, you know, unique relationship. Um, but you know, like I said, the the day the day I got let go, the the very first text message I got was from Braves. Wow, that’s awesome. And was like, “Hey, man. You know, sorry this happened. Wish you nothing but the best. you know, let me know how I could help you, you know, type of thing. I’ll say it like, so first of all, the first thing I want to say, I’d give anything to see that conversation or to hear that conversation between Mike Verbel and Ran Carthon, some of the things they’ve probably got to say about Titans ownership and the Titans organization. I’m sure that’s juicy. Um, there’s a reason why these people have to sign NDAs, by the way, when they get fired by organizations. There’s a reason they sign NDAs. Uh, and there’s only so much they could say. That goes for John Robinson, Ran Carthon, Mike Vrabel, anybody. But, you know, if you go back to um when Ranc was hired, after they fired John Robinson and they hired Ran, there was a lot of speculation about Vel doesn’t like him or Carthon doesn’t like Vrabel. Varel doesn’t like Karthon. They don’t like each other. They don’t get along. There’s a there’s they they don’t see eye to eye. I believe what Rancon is saying right there. I I believe that he and Vrabel were friends. I believe they did get along and I believe they still get along with this day. I believe he is obviously telling the truth about how close uh his daughter uh came to be with Vrabel. I think he is telling the truth about Vable reaching out to him when he was fired. I think all of that’s true. I think they had a bond and they worked together well and they they tried to make it work. What I also think is true is the report that came out however long ago that Mike Vrabel did not want Rancon to be the new GM. Not because of anything personal, but just because he didn’t feel like he was ready. Mike Vrabel did not feel like Rancon was ready to be an NFL GM. In fact, Mike Vrabel wanted to do what Mike Vrabel likes to do, which is elevate from within. He wanted Ryan Cen, who was already in the organization and somebody that Vrabel had worked with. He wanted Ryan Cen to be elevated to to the new GM and Amy didn’t want that. She wanted an outside hire. She went with Ray Carthan. I think Vrabel probably did push back on that behind the scenes. I think he probably did make it known this guy’s not ready to be a GM. He’s not ready for this. I’m sure he’s a good guy. I’m sure he’ll get there someday, but right now he’s not ready to do this. I would rather elevate from within. And I think that ultimately is the moment that was the beginning of the end for Vrabel in Nashville because I think that’s the moment that things started going in in opposite directions. I think that’s the very thing that created the tension between Vrabel and ownership is that he pushed back and said, “I don’t think this guy is ready.” And they hired him anyway. They hired Rancon anyway and didn’t side with the coach who had had success here for many years at that point and probably had earned the right for his voice to be heard. They chose to hire the guy that he said probably wasn’t ready. So, I think that part of that is true. I think that Vrabel and Ran probably had very different ideas philosophy-wise. I think that Vrabel had different ideas philosophy-wise than pretty much everybody in the Titans organization. I think that he had a different philosophy than Amy. I think Vrabel wanted more power. I think he wanted more control over the roster. I think Vrabel wanted to have more of a say so over things and Amy wasn’t willing to do that. I think Vrabel wanted his kind of GM. I think he wanted a bigger role in picking the new GM that he did not get. And so I think that’s where the tension started. I think Vrabel and Rand tried to make it work. I think they got along great. I think they tried to make it work and and make it happen. But you have two different philosophies. And then what happens is if you start the tension with, okay, I don’t want you to hire this guy. I would rather you hire this guy over here. And you don’t listen to me. You hire him anyway. You know, I wanted more control over the roster. You chose not to give it to me. So now we have tension. Okay. Then you come out the next season and you go six and 11. You come out the next season and you know some free agent pickups don’t work out, some draft picks don’t work out. You take the trip over to Foxboro on the by-week and you say what you say there. When you go out on the field and you’re chilling with Robert Craft and the Titans don’t look good and they go out and get embarrassed in the Oiler throwbacks, it all starts seeming like a snowball that’s building out of control. And what what it results in is Mike Vrabel being fired all because the owner didn’t want to sit down and talk through this with him. And that’s the the key here. If you had a problem with something to do with Varel, if you’re Amy Adams and you got a problem with something Varel said or done, you handle it like adults, right? You get in a room and you talk it out and you try to reach conclusion and you try to reconcile it so that you can move forward as an organization. Instead, you just sit back, keep quiet, let all of this fester inside of you. And then when the season ends, it boils over and you fire him. And then a year later, you fire Ran Carthon, proving Vrabel right when he said, “This guy’s not ready to be a GM.” Ran Carthon went on to prove he was not ready to be an NFL GM. So now, not only did you fire Vel, but then a year later, you pretty much said he was right. We shouldn’t have hired this guy. such as the Tennessee Titans organization. I think Vreyel and Carthon were close. I think they got close. I think they had a good uh friendship even if they didn’t have the same philosophy on how to run this organization. And I think the tension with Vrabel was not so much about Ran. I think it was just about Vrabel being a very different type of coach than what Amy wanted. And hopefully Amy has learned over these few years how to do business. I hope she has learned, you know, that if there’s something that you’re not as sure about, maybe you need to put people in place that are more more educated on it than you so that they can make the decisions. But there are still people in this organization right now who are responsible for some of this incompetence that we’ve seen over the years and they’re still employed. That’s why Mike Boronzi needs to be the guy heading up this head coaching search because he’s the most competent one here right now. I got questions about Chad Brinker. I’ve I sure have questions about Amy, but this is just a perfect example of what happens when you don’t communicate well and you don’t handle business the right way. You hired the wrong GM. You had a coach with experience who was telling you you were hiring the hiring the wrong GM and you chose to do it anyway. Why? Just just to spite the head coach. It’s no wonder this organization’s in the shape it’s in, folks. Things got to get better. You This isn’t This isn’t This isn’t high school. This isn’t high school. This is not a soap opera. This is an NFL football team that has gone down quickly because of stuff like this. Tighten up everybody.

Yesssssss another video
Vrabel aint sh*t.
“Collaboration” got us here.
Sorry man. This was just not a good take. Vrabel was just like Lavi with the Preds in 2020. He reached his expiration date with this team and everyone could see it including Amy
They have not spoken we know amy definitely did that.
Each week Titans prove more and more Vrabel was the only smart guy in the room
The fact that Amy can’t get out of her feelings and do business with the Patriots. Proof you shouldn’t have an emotional WOMAN running a men’s sports team.
I love your content and wish you guys had a better thing going down there in TN. I feel like our division has always been weak on the whole with only one team really doing well. Really hope that changes.
I totally agree with everything you've said. Amy got it right when she hired Vrabel and she got it wrong when she fired him. Instead of heeding his advice on a new GM, she created dysfunction and embarrassed the organization ever since.
Carthon wasn't ready, he proved that by turning a Titan's team that was winning, that had playoff appearances under Vrabel, into a burning pile of garbage that is still is today. I love your videos, I love Titans fans, but your Carthon-build teams were complete and total garbage, only surpassed in garbage-ness by your owner, who has a single digit IQ count.
You guys won with Vrabel, until Carthon. From a Pats fan, I hope your owner learned her lesson and backs off your team management so your team can rebuild after she completely destroyed it.
Really? You expect her to listen to Vrabel on who to hire as GM when he can’t even hire a good coaching staff. Reason why you don’t give Vrabel control. Also I believe Chad is more competent than you think; he was the one who wanted to fire everyone and start over; he was the one who questioned Rans signings and draft picks; hence the reason they traded or cut most of them that they can right now. Sneed and Ridley are pretty much gone this offseason. So I don’t have any evidence showing Chad is part of the problem.
All of these because of Mike Vrabel
Be honest i don't watching football, titans i do sport spending 3 hours better than watching games
That hat is too sweeeet!
Did anybody see Brownlee getting torched and still making stupid penalties last night against Vrabel and the Pats? I think Borgonzi was right!
LMAO
I think you’ve nailed this whole thing. I agree 100%.
You sound dumb. You assume they didn't sit and talk it out they could have sat and talked and she still wanted to hire Ran. Yall always assume she just makes decisions without talking to someone. As an owner I hire who I want if it works it works if not then we move on.
I guess varbel was right bout Shane Bowen and Tim Kelly and Todd downing being ready
Wasn’t ran Carthon hire strictly to get NFL help with the new stadium? I thought that was the reason …. ?
Theres drama with the titans daily. I'm getting really tired of it, thinking about becoming a Nashville sounds fan because the preds aren't any better. At least with the sounds my son can run the bases
Focus on tanking, getting that 1st overall draft pick in 2026 and hiring the new HC. Move on from Vrabel, get over it.
I really wish everyone could just let it go. I’m so tired of these sam conversations. Vrabel is gone and he isn’t coming back.
At least they got their collaborative to work within the collective.
I don't believe Ran Carthon! It was a Texans GM Rick Smith/HC Bill O'Brien relationship where the two just didn't work together cause it was Denver Broncos mixing with New England Patriots to create the Texans.
.
Same with Mike Vrabel and Ran Carthon on how Vrabel bringing in all former Texans players and staff and mix with Ran Carthon 49ers networks and connections which is how they got Brian Callahan from Zac Taylor in Cincinnati from his Sean McVay/Kyle Shanahan connection.
I never liked Carthon, because hes the one, because he traded away AJ brown. For Treylon Burks, worst trade in team history
Firing Vrabel was just as stupid, probably even more stupid, than trading AJ Brown for Treylon Burks. I been saying it since the day they fired him too.
Interesting to me how Vrabel never tried to get wr's that could get open and make plays but did so in New England.. Also interesting how he got a competent OC but refused to do that in Tennessee..
Ran Carthon sucked as a GM look at the difference in ran Draft and borgonzi draft?
Speculations
Billionaires don’t like it when someone underneath tells them how to do their job
So I honestly don’t believe the Amy v Vrabel story I think it’s just people trying to get clicks… however Vrabel saying Amy hasn’t talked to him since he was fired is an even bigger indication that she’s being a petty child about the whole situation. I mean she walked by him in Nissan without a word. If anything that’s more fuel to the fire that the story is actually true 😂
All I know is the titans better start winning and not tanking to get first round. Let them do that and lose the first game next year. They’ll have problems
This is why continuously say…local media coverage of this team F Up…this whole time we was lead that Ran and Vrab was beefin
Hire based on merit and this never happens
Vrabel come back! Any kind of fool could see. There was something, in everything about you. Vrabel come back. You can blame it all on Amy. She was wrong, and I just can't live without you. Dun, dun ,dun. Vrabel come back!
You don’t have to sign an NDA when you get fired. People do it because they get offered money to sign.
The Titan and our fans are idiots. You had the worst 3 year stretch of injuries in NFL history. You trade the best WR in franchise history and replaced him with a complete bust in the draft! Vrabel had 0 players of quality his final 4 season. We have been historically bad in the draft since 2019. We were lucky to be as good as we were. 3 or 4 years of bust in the first round. There is only 2 players from 2020 to 2024 drafts still on the roster!
