Nico Harrison had a gift for coming up with justifications as moronic as the trade itself.
Taking action isn’t bold and daring when the action is foolish. An NBA general manager gets trade offers all the time where the correct response is to do nothing by saying no.
The Darwin Awards are given out every year to people who in hindsight should have done nothing.
Nico is dumber than a lot of those winners.

Can someone explain to me why they think Kidd’s demeanor here absolves him of any possible wrongdoing when he always looks and acts like this? I’m not convinced he wasn’t involved

Funny I was just thinking about this myself this morning along those same lines, and then this post comes up and aligns with my thoughts!
I was thinking Nico could’ve just done nothing and he could’ve gone down as a Mavs legend and potentially a champion. They had gone to 2 WCFs and 1 NBA Finals. The trajectory was pointing way up before Nico steered it into a drastic nosedive!
Then he got the bright idea that it was all because of him, and not the players. Just like in 1998 when Jerry Krause thought it was unfair that Jordan and Phil got all the praise when it was really him who was the mastermind behind it all (LOL) and he blew the team up so that he could rebuild it and prove he could do it without them. But at least the city of Chicago got 6 titles out of it first! At least it took 6 championships for Krause’s ego to build up to that point! Megalomaniacal Nico got to that same point before winning even 1! Just ridiculous.
The players make the GM, the GM doesnt make the players. All he had to do was sit still and shut up and let Luka be great. SMDH.
Yes. Because doing nothing would’ve meant at the very least keeping one of the top 3 players in the league, the greatest player in the history of Dallas sports when his career is done, on your effing team. The one decision literally EVERYONE BUT YOU would’ve done.
