MASSIVE TRADE! 49ERS ACQUIRE DREAM QUARTERBACK TO SHOCK THE NFL! SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS NEWS

What’s up, Niners faithful? Victor here from the 49ers insider report. And listen, we’ve got breaking news coming out of Santa Clara. The 49ers have just locked in a new quarterback for the rest of the season. And trust me, this move says a lot about how Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch are preparing for the final stretch of this playoff push. With the roster banged up, Pertie coming back from turf toe, and every game feeling like a mustwin, this quarterback edition is way more important than people realize. Before we get into all the details, do me a huge favor. Smash that like button, hit subscribe, and let’s push this channel to 5,000 subscribers. We’re building the strongest 49ers community on YouTube, and I want you to be part of it. Set. I’m just wondering at this point, and we’ve talked about it here a little bit on is that tie going to affect them at some point and having that tie at the end of the season rather than having that hardcore win. Will it affect them at some point? Not so sure, but I think right now they’re well positioned to maintain that six spot and make the uh playoffs. That’s a great point to bring up. Now, of course, the Packers can thank the Lions. So can the 49ers um because after that loss in San Fran’s win over the Cardinals, the Niners back in this playoff race and their path when you look at their remaining schedule uh seems pretty easy. Yeah. And I have another I have them as another team at Simple and we look at this at this remaining schedule. Now, these next three games are very winnable. You see here against the the Panthers, and they’ve kind of been up and down, but they’re doing really well at this point. We know where the Browns are. We know where the Titans are, and then things really pick up for them against a really good Colts team, a surging um Chicago team, and then it it feels like in all my time in San Fran with the NerS, the last game game of the season against the Seahawks, there were always playoff implications there. There were always division title implications there. So, you knew that no matter what the team’s records were, this game was going to be pivotal in in terms of how you close out your season. I have them down as simple. They will be getting healthier, getting their guys back on offense, right? Defense there. It’s going to be a situation now where the offense is going to have to carry this team. They’re just down too many stars, too many guys on defense right now. But if anyone can get it done, it’s the 49ers. It’s Kyle Shanahan who I might say he needs to be in the conversation for coach of the year. You talk about a guy that’s done a lot with the little and constantly just having revolving doors week after week, but they’re getting guys in position. The guys are playing football. Guys that you’ve never heard of are stepping up and making plays. And I think Kyle Shanahan should firmly be in position for coach of the year. And as crazy as it is, Jordan, he’s never won coach of the year. It is crazy to think about and I do think we should be having that conversation sooner rather than later. Um I’m sure we will here on CBS Sports Network. Let’s get to though how impactful that loss was to the Lions. Sunday Night Football against the Eagles in ter. Welcome in to CBS Sports HQ alongside Tommy Tran. I’m Tiffany Blackman. And Tommy, after Monday Night Football, does the playoff picture does it start to seem like it’s getting clearer? A little bit. I don’t think it’s crystal clear, but certainly second half of the season now, we know which teams are looking forward to the draft a little bit more than others. But it’s interesting to see some of the fights for the top seed wild card hunt certainly. So let’s give you a look at what the NFL playoff picture looks like at the moment. Right now you would have the Denver Broncos as the top seed in the AFC without the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoff picture after week 11 and the reigning champs are sitting pretty at number one. But questions about that offense, some of the receivers of course. So, even though they’re winning, it’s not without some type of conversation out in the city of brotherly love. Let’s bring in John Breach to talk about our playoff picture entering week 12 of the NFL season. And Breach, when it comes to some tiebreaker scenarios, we know certainly in this new expanded playoff format, only the top seed gets the buy. If we start in the AFC, it’s relatively new blood with the Broncos. you have the Patriots and even the Colts who are uh tied in the loss column, so a half game back. Is there a team you think that needs the one seed? What’s your outlook in terms of that particular conference? Well, I I do think that Denver would probably benefit the most from the one seed. They are in the hunt uh when it comes to the wild card mix. So, especially after that win against uh the Raiders in Monday Night Football where they cruise by and so they’re now in this conversation. But when you look at the tiebreaker scenarios for wild card, John, can you break it down for us? Yeah, when we look at the bottom of the NFC there, you’re you’re looking at two NFC West teams, the Seahawks and the 49ers. And then there’s just kind of a freeforall in the NFC North. So, let’s focus on the Seahawks and 49ers really quick with the way that division is playing out. The 49ers are in good shape because when you have two divisional teams, uh, you use a divisional tiebreaker first. The 49ers are 4-1 in the NFC West. They have a win over the Seahawks back in week one, which is huge. And Seattle’s 2-2 in the division. So, as long as the 49ers uh have a better division record, that will put them ahead of the Seahawks, assuming these two teams end up tied. Then you look at the NFC North where anything could go at this point because you’ve got the Bears in first place, but they have one of the most difficult remaining schedules. Uh you have the Packers who have that weird tie in there which could actually end up helping them at the end because if say the Bears, Lions, and Packers all finish with 10 wins, the Packers are going to win the division because of that tie. And then let’s not forget about the Lions who on the outside looking in right now. And if you look at the schedules they have to play, uh they’re going to Can you say that again? No, I’m just kidding. Just we don’t hear it very often at all. Um let’s shift gears then because you kind of touched on uh the NFC West earlier. You’ve got the Rams leading the way and then in the NFC North it’s the Bears and that has been fun to watch their kind of resurrection this season. Um but there are some other teams in these divisions that are knocking on the door, John. So which division is more likely to get three teams into the playoffs? Yeah, out of the NFC North and the NFC West, I would have to go with the West. And the reason for that is because I think that division has two teams that are absolute locks and that’s the Rams and the Seahawks. I mean, barring an epic collapse or Sam Darnold going out and throwing four interceptions in every game for the rest of the season, I think the Seahawks absolutely get in and then the Rams could go three and three uh three and four and get in at 11 and six. So, I think they’ll be fine even worst case scenario. So, the question is, can the 49ers get in? and you look at their schedule and it feels friendly enough that they’ll be able to do it. They still get to play the Browns, the Tennessee Titans. They play uh the Panthers on Monday night at home. If they win those three games, that gets them up to 10 wins. It almost doesn’t matter what happens the rest of the season. So, I do think the 49ers, Rams, and Seahawks all get in. And when I look at the NFC North, they might not get more than one team in. I do think they will get two teams, but just because they have to play so many divisional games down the stretch, it’s going to be hard for a team in the NFC North to get to say 12 wins. I think the Bears, Packers, and the Lions maybe get to 11 wins tops. They just play each other so often. Like I said earlier, the Bears still have to play the Packers twice. Uh they still play the Lions. So, there’s a lot of divisional games still out there. So, I I think that the NFC North probably ends up with two teams. All right, faithful, let’s talk about the move. The San Francisco 49ers are officially resigning quarterback Adrien Martinez to the practice squad after he cleared waiverss. This report comes straight from Ian Rapaort, who confirmed that Martinez is heading right back to the 49ers after being released last week when Brock Perie returned from injury. This is the same Adrien Martinez who served as M. Jones’s backup while Pertie was dealing with that turf toe issue. And honestly, he handled the role extremely well. People might underestimate how valuable this signing is, but let me explain why it matters. First, Adrien Martinez already knows Kyle Shanahan’s system. He joined the team back on August 27th and went from QB3 to QB2 literally overnight when Pertie got hurt. Shanahan trusted him enough to dress him on game day. That’s not nothing. Second, with party returning, but still not at 100%, the 49ers need insurance. Turf toe is the kind of injury that flares up fast. The Niners can’t afford even one game without a capable backup ready to go. Third, Martinez brings upside. Before joining the NFL, he was the UFL MVP with the Birmingham Stallions in 2024. 1,750 yards, 15 touchdowns, just three interceptions. efficient, explosive, smart with the football. He even got his first NFL snap in week nine against the Giants. Yeah, it was just a kneel down for M. Jones after a monster performance. But still, the moment matters. At just 25 years old, Martinez has something you can’t coach. The ability to adapt. He went from undrafted in 2023, cut before week 1 UFL MVP in 2024, Jets camp QB in 2024 and 2025 to now being in Kyle Shanahan’s quarterback school, which is basically a masterclass for young QBs. The 49ers clearly believe he’s worth developing. And with Shanahan, man, the upside is real. Plus, let’s be honest, with the way this season has gone, keeping three quarterbacks in the building is the smart move. Injuries have crushed this roster from Bosa to Warner to Huff to Gross Mattos. So the last thing this team needs is to get thin at QB again. This signing isn’t flashy. It’s not headline grabbing, but it’s exactly the kind of move championship teams make. Adrien Martinez gives the 49ers a mobile backup, a system fit someone already trusted by the coaching staff. cheap depth at a crucial position and a developmental QB who might actually have long-term value with Pertie returning and M. Jones playing the best football of his career. Martinez solidifies the depth chart for the rest of the season. Faithful, I want to hear from you. Do you like this move? Do you believe Martinez could become a long-term backup in San Francisco, or is he just an insurance policy for the playoff push? Drop your thoughts in the comments. I read all of them.
