NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Boston Celtics | November 19, 2025 | Lakers vs Celtics LIVE 2K26

But first, let’s hear from the sideline. Ally, it’s all yours. Thanks, guys. Well, DeAndre Aton’s a defensive anchor in the middle. He talked about his ambition at the end of the floor, saying, “I just want to be able to guard one through five. That’s my goal. I’m going to show my opponent why he is not supposed to be on the same floor as me.” Brian, plenty of confidence. And the talent to deliver, Ally, for sure. Thank you. Here are the five for the Lakers. They’ve got DeAndre Aton, LeBron James out there with Rui Achimura. Then it’s Luca Donuch, and it’s Reeves in at the two. And for the Celtics, the core of this team, Brown and Tatum, they’re the forwards. Peyton Pritchard is out there with Derek White, and it’s Kada in at the center position. And as is the case most nights, we’ve got a lot of talent in the back court for both of these squads, Clark. Yeah, there’s so many outstanding shot makers and playmakers in the back courts across the league. I do believe it is clearly a guards league these days. All of these guys can light it up and will light you up. So clearly a shooters league is what you see most of now. From the high post, Tatum can’t hit. That’s a shot he’d like back. He’s usually going to make those. Donic against Brown. Donic good. That’s just a fantastic decision from Donic seeing a chance to go to work inside and taking it. Pass to Brown. Back to Tatum. The three. And that won’t fall for him. He’s 0 for two here. for the Lakers with the ball and they blow the whistle just as he gets it off. That’s two points with a chance at another one at the strike. LeBron James refusing to be denied, just musling through that foul to get the shot off. LeBron led the NBA in assists during his 2020 title season with the Lakers becoming the second oldest player ever to lead the league in that category. Heat. Heat. Man, that assist title for LeBron. An incredible accomplishment for someone of his size. Clark, I bet you didn’t know this, BA. Or maybe you did cuz you are a factoid machine, but the only player taller than LeBron to lead the league in the system, Wilt Chamberlain. When you throw in winning the bubble championship finals MVP 2020 might have been Bra’s final season. Shot clock at three. Here’s Pritchard again. The miss by the Celtics. And here are the Lakers. Poke loose. Here’s Reeves defended by Brown. Here’s Aiden. And that one’s good. A nice job on the glass as they picked up two on the second effort. I mean, come on. A sevenfooter with a 75 wingspan. Aiden beats everyone to the ball and converts easily. Now here’s Tatum. Outside White. Oh, he can’t stop the run as that misses for Los Angeles. They’ve gone three of four. off to a nice start and he gets the bucket. You know, I think the passing skills of LeBron are his greatest asset and he’s got some great ones in addition to that, but his passing is otherworldly. When you get open, he gets it to you with exactly the right speed and pace so you can handle it. He didn’t make them pay for that weak defense, but they just can’t rely on him to miss those kind of shots. And here in the first approaching three minutes played Aimura. The pass to Donic. Back to Aimura. This one for three. The shot is good. Donic making the play. They’ve played with fantastic energy from the opening tip. And you know when you’ve got a chance to put a team away early, you got to take it. Now a timeout called by Boston. Yeah. hoping to tap into something that’ll get them clicking. Yeah. And you know, that’s going to be the focus of this timeout. They need to come up with a spark to get the offense going. The Celtics have gone 0 for five to begin this game. Outside White. Kick out to Brown again. The miss by the Celtics for Los Angeles. They’ve gone five of six. They’re rolling. Pass to Reeves. James with the ball. Aimura outside to the middle. Here’s Donic. Kada pulls it in. Boston on offense. Searching for their first points of the game. Aimura against Brown to stop the drought and it’s good on the layup. I think that’s where Brown is at his best, guys. He’s a muscular athlete who loves finishing strong through contact and that was the mobile one drive. Little resistance to the finish line. Yeah, they’re trying to close this gap. Always a good option to probe the paint and see if you can get an easy one inside. Now here’s Aiden. Here’s Aimura. Misses the jumper. Outside White pass to Tatum. Here’s Pritchard. Pocket six. Tips it. Oh, he hangs in there and cashes in on the second chance points. Real smooth, guys. Great job with the tip in. Those are the kind of plays on the offensive glass that can tell you a lot about a player. Yes, they can. They can’t allow him to beat them to too many more of those. And a foul called on the way up. So, he’ll take two from the free throw line. Look at Luca playing hard, which is always the way he goes. Hits a foul, but keeps pushing and takes his shot. Playing through contact. That’s good from Donuch. And for the Lakers, Clark, the last decade, they haven’t been as impressive. Well, you know, BA, there’s a reason for that. They’ve missed more playoff games in the last decade than the franchise’s entire existence. And a lot of it has been due to injuries. There’s no lack of talent. LeBron took on the challenge, bringing the championship in the 19 and 20 season, but last year did not turn out as they were expecting and a big part of it was injuries and really trying to adjust to new personnel. Well, Grant, you look at the Celtics and their defense. Not a surprise. It’s at the heart of this team. No question. I mean, you have three plus defenders on the perimeter. Their big men can switch under guards and protect the rim, too. top to bottom, they can match up well with any team. Building a big advantage early with a terrific all-around performance. Yeah, you know, they’ve had the advantage at both ends. They’ve got all the momentum early on. Now here’s Tatum now. Quiet so far offensively searching for his first points of the game. Here’s Whiteada rebound. The Lakers Aton’s got four rebounds in the game. Brown. Now here’s White. Tight defense on him. Back to Tatum. Let’s go with a three. Kick out to Brown. Pass to Pritchard. Five on the clock. White for three on target from range. Part of White’s expanding game is the attention to his jump shot. And he’s made great improvement in that area. Oh, they get a hand on it. Pass break. Here come the Celtics. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. The officials were right on top of that one. Clearly a foul. I mean, didn’t give him any choice but to blow the whistle. I mean, you got to play without fouling. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And that one falls for Tatum. And guys, talk about silencing the critics. Tatum made first team allNBA last year and led the Celtics to their first Finals appearance in over a decade. And so Tatum nails both of them. You know, probably the biggest shift for Tatum, his advancement at the defensive end, Greg. Oh, no question, BA. And that’s imperative at the small forward position. Think about it. You have guys like LeBron, Kawhai, KD. Now, Jason Tatum is in that elite two-way group as well. And you have to put Jimmy Butler in there as well. Now here’s Donic and it’s ABC missing. Here’s Brown bearing his second of three attempts. Hey, defenders already have a lot to worry about with Tatum scoring, but he’s making passes like that, too. Watch out. Back to Donic. Pass to Aiden. Donic with it. 11 ft out. Got a piece of it. Here’s Pritchard. Aimura covering. And here’s Brown. Oh, Aiden with the block. Yeah, Aidton has all the physical gifts of a great shot blocker. Size, length, and agility. Here’s Pritchard. The three-pointer off the mark. The Lakers in the lead. And here’s Achimura. Adonic outside and so far in this one two for four. You know, Luca is one of those players where the mid-range shot is really a weapon for him, not just an afterthought. I mean, he is lights out from that distance. Boston calls timeout. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Both teams will make substitutions. Austin trailing on the wing. Tatum and Aiden pulls it down. Aton’s got his sixth rebound on the night. He hasn’t been able to find his touch this quarter. To me, it appears he’s starting to lose his composure a little bit. We’ll see if he can regroup and get back into a better rhythm. Tell you what, just add that one to the highlight reel. James is truly one of the greatest slam dunkers of all time. And the replay of that slashing drive to the hoop courtesy of Mobile One. Yeah. Taking the onus on himself to make something happen. Got it into the teeth of the defense and made them pay. Here’s ABC the shot. Boston no good that time either. There’s no way that’s the best look this offense can produce. Not at all. I mean, that’s where they want him. Looking for a teammate, not trying to do it on his own. He needs to share the wealth deck. They’ve controlled the paint so far. That’s been the difference. And you know, establishing that physical dominance early gives you a big mental edge, too. Don’t discount that. ABC. And he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. And you have to think that one advantage this Celtics team has is a deep roster. Lots of quality guys they can assemble different ways. They’re pretty adaptable. shooting two. He’s off on the first. You know, a versatile bench really is a gift for the Celtics in tough situations. And even a great starting five isn’t perfect against every opponent. It’s important to have flexibility and that’s something that Boston definitely has. The Celtics making a switch here. Bush’s checked in. Now Donic give him eight points now. takes the three. Rebound Boston. It’s tough to get open in this league and when you do, it hurts not to capitalize. Pass to Bush. Here’s Hower. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. Shoot two. He misses the free throw. Good on the second one. And for the Lakers, they’re shooting a phenomenal 60% in the first. Donic against Simons. James outside from deep three-point range. It’s never easy from that distance, but we see him drill those and shoot around all the time. Well, that looked to me guys, like a heat check and was maybe a step out of his range. Yeah, really left him no choice there. I mean, he had the foul and keep him from converting the easy bucket. Shooting two. And the first one at the line is good. and he makes both free throws. The Lakers in the lead. Donic outside. Knocks it loose and that one goes out of bounds. Last touch by Simons. And the fans love seeing incredible moments on defense like that block. They’re determined to add to the lead, not with more offense, but with big time defense. Hayes has checked in for Aiden. Hayes with it. The baseline Jay. Here’s James. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. It goes on Chris Buché. So physically powerful. A tough task to defend LeBron inside. That free throw good from James. And you know, this guy simply does not age. LeBron remains a dominant force in this league despite being in the league since 2003. Both free throws good from James. Boston trailing. Pass to ABC. 124 left in the first. Here’s Hower. Count it. One for one to start the game. pounding it inside early and often, setting a physical tone. Pass to ABC. Back to Donic and he lobbs it up to the rim. Donic taking pride in setting the table for his teammates. I love his unselfishness. Donic against Simons. from downtown. They grabbed their own miss. It doesn’t go for him. Donic against Simons. Back to James. That one falls. Great setup by Donic. Donic has got six assists in the game. They’ve shown so much energy right from the start, particularly on the offensive end. Tell you what, forget about easeing into the game. They came out with guns. Blazing. Now here’s Simons looking for his first basket still in this one. Four on the clock and stolen by Hayes. And so it’s LeBron James making things happen for the Lakers. 11 points in the quarter. He’s on fire. We’ll be right back after this word. And so far through one quarter, it’s been a lopsided game. We’ll see if that changes here in the second. And for the Lakers, this has been the game they wanted to have. It’s simple. The main takeaway from the first quarter is they’re winning this game with defense. Yeah, I agree. I mean, you look at the energy, the effort defensively, they put it all out there in that opening quarter. Well, as you know, Graph, this game can be so hard on your body as a player. How do you determine the difference between being hurt versus being injured? That’s a great question, BA. Look, sometimes as players, you need someone to protect them from themselves. Today’s game, the teams today are so smart about protecting players and preventing things from getting worse. But it really comes down to the players, the doctors, the team overall, just being smart and having a big picture about the injuries. The core of this team, Brown and Tatum, they’re the forwards. Derek White out there with Peyton Pritchard and it’s Kada in at the five roaming the paint. That’s the five to begin the second quarter for the Celtics. Shooting two and he knocks down the first one. The potential that Tatum still possesses to get better is quite scary. I mean, this guy has done an awful lot in a very short time. He’s a versatile forward with tremendous skills and a work ethic to match. And so Tatum nails both of them. The Lakers shooting it at 52%. All right, let’s get a report from Ally. Thanks. Well, Jason Tatum added muscle to his frame and layers to his game, but still not satisfied. He said, quote, “I just got to be better. I have to elevate my level from being one of the top 10 to 15 players to a top five player. I got to make everybody else around me better.” Brian, still work to do and plenty of runway to do it, Alec. Thanks. Now, here’s Hayes. Well, no scoring yet from him, but that’s likely to change. Shot clock at six. Aim Merl from long range. The Lakers with the rebound. That one falls and the Lakers lead by 11. It’s Brown on the wing. Back to White. Here’s Tatum. Lays it up and banks it in. Tatum’s got six points. You got to do a lot more than that to stop Tatum. I mean, he’s just too skilled and crafty and strong on these takes. And that replay showed how sensational that drive truly was. Kic good. And the defense has no one to blame but themselves. I mean, they just let him get right to the rim. You know, he should be getting extra attention from the defense, not less. Now here’s White. Got a hand on it. Here’s Kada. Kick out to Brown. White for three. Here’s Kada. It’s blocked. Go. Aimura outside. The shot is good. Donic making the play. He’s got six. All right. had a look at how the hustle game has been going for Los Angeles. Yeah, I love the energy and aggressiveness I’ve seen from them on defense. They’re really getting after it with all these blocks. Well, how about the transition game, too? I mean, that’s been another key for him, moving the ball quickly up the floor. Let’s see if they can keep that up. Now, here’s White. There’s the block. Brown against Achimura inside. Here’s Donic and that one goes. He’s shooting five of nine in this one. They’ve been very wellrounded and extremely focused. Almost no holes in their performance tonight. They’ve been tremendous. Now here’s Tatum. He’s got six. And there’s the foul. That’s on Jackson Hayes. That’s his first foul of the game. outside White. Six to shoot. Pass to Tatum to win the run. No good that time. Now the Lakers take it the other way. Here’s Donic. Kada pulls it in. The Celtics have gone one for six in the second quarter. Not great. Stolen by Vanderbilt. Aimura in the post. Tatum’s there. Pass to Aimura. Here’s Reeves. He’s guarded by White. Clock is at three. Shoots the shot by Reeves. No good. Well done on the glass. Gets himself in position where he can use his size and they’ll get another chance. Good. The Lakers have gotten four of eight shots to drop. Top of the second. Donic passes to Aimura. Here’s Reeves. Pass to Hayes. Tipped. Here’s Pritchard. Guarded by Donic. The Lakers with a rebound. Donic has got four rebounds in the game. Here’s Aimura. And the layup is good off the glass. Aimura’s got eight points. Dant so multiaceted. A stat sheet stuffer. Supreme. He does everything including dropping down. Here’s Pritchard. Let it fly. The put back. It’s good on the put back. Huge put back. This guy plays with so much energy. I don’t know anybody that goes after the boards harder. And night in and night out, that’s what he provides. Time called here. Los Angeles decides to talk it over. Come on. Congratulations. Heat up here. The Lakers making a switch here. Aiden’s checked in. Donic outside. Elbow shot on the way. They get it back. Vanderbilt can’t get a second shot to fall. Now one of two. Here’s Brown. deflected and he’s able to get it back and he recovers it. The Lakers have gone just five of 12 here in the second quarter. Here’s Aimura and there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. First one falls for him. And both free throws good for Achimura. And for Boston, they’re shooting only 23% so far. outside. White looking to end this cold spell. That one goes in. Brown’s got six points. He’s a potent mix of effort and ability. Hard to shut down a player of his caliber. Back to Donic. Oh, there’s the alley. Smooth finish off a terrific feed. Man, the timing and execution couldn’t have been any better right there. Guys, I hope we get to see a few more of those. Here’s Pritchard guarded by Donic. Pritchard no good. Well, we talk about the value of great rim protection. That’s a shot he typically makes. And they’re just one foul now away from the penalty. Yep. The next one puts them on the line. So, they’ve got to be careful the rest of the way. And the Celtics making a change here. Simon’s checked in. James has checked in for Los Angeles. Smart comes in for Luca Donuch. Smart passes to James. Here’s Reeves. Six on the shot clock. And there’s a 3second violation. Garzes checked in for Boston. Hower comes in for Tatum. Simons finds Brown outside. White. Simons against Smart. Clock at six. He can’t get that one to fall. And Los Angeles the other way now. Pass to Aiden. Perfect pass to set up the layin. Aton’s got his second basket. Yeah, when you let Aiden get the ball close, it’s over. DeAndre is just too skilled. Time called here. The Celtics decide to talk it over. Protecting the rim has to be their top objective right now. Yeah, you know, just look at the numbers, guys. I mean, they are being taken to the woodshed in the paint. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Bush’s checked in for Boston and the Lakers making a change here. Here’s Garza. He’s covered by Eaton. And here’s Simons outside. Rebounded by the Lakers. Aimura’s got a rebound number five here tonight. Here’s ABC. And the Lakers hit again from deep. Balanced play has given them the lead and also quieted this crowd. Yeah, you said the key word there, balanced. I mean, their big lead owes as much to their defense as their offense. Now, here’s Simons. Well, he hasn’t put up any points yet in this one. Here’s White. Oh, that one’s off. Still out of sync. For Los Angeles, they’ve gone eight of 15 in the second. And for people who didn’t know about Derek White before last year’s playoffs, they sure know about him now. He played big on the biggest stage. Here’s Aiden. A 21-point lead. The biggest of the game. Here’s Aimura. And that one hits the back iron. Boy, they’d love if anyone could get a bucket. Yeah, their offense has been grinding to a hole. It’s amazing how much energy White brings to the floor. Grant, you know, BA, he has a passion for the game. He’s tough and he’s very intelligent. He makes great decisions. He has all the tangibles you’re looking for. Here’s ABC. He’s got five. White for three. James with the rebound. James has got four rebounds now. With the floater and no good. So, it’s Boston now. It’s an 18-point game. White good. Boy, White is a capable three-point shooter now, and he does not need a lot of space or time to get off his shot. Now, here’s Smart. Boy, he’s been patient so far. Nothing yet on the scoreboard. Now, here’s Hachimura. Defense is right there. Shot clock at five. Hey, from beyond the ark, here’s Aiden with the clock winding down. Probably should have scored there. He usually does. Garza and count that. Two points and a chance for one more at the line. That’s serving it up on the platter there. What a nice pass. A high percentage look was the result. What’s up? Boy, you love how guys are making plays for one another here. Yeah, just a balanced attack. A total team effort. Now, here’s Hachimura. 10 points for him. Ooh, nothing falling for them right now. The Celtics shooting at 30% here in the second. Simons right side pass to BJ. Now here’s Simons. Jacks up a three and Aiden pulls it down. 133 left in the second quarter. Now Smart and so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair. And he makes a first. and so Smart nails them both. The Celtics shooting 27% in today’s game. Not good. And there’s the call on Ruachimura. That’ll be a second foul of the game. That was a good call. The defense wasn’t established. Yeah, it looked like it. I mean, he kind of slid underneath as he got to the spot, too. 116 left to play in the first half. Pass to ABC. There’s Simons with a three. the Lakers with a rebound. Aimura’s got six rebounds now in the game to the paint and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So, he’ll take two free throws. Got to be careful how you guard Aiden. He’s so creative at finding ways to draw fouls. That’s good from Aiden. Yeah. What I appreciate about Aidton is that he wants to keep getting better. You have to be excited about his future. And he makes the first but misses the second. 51 seconds left in the second from the baseline. They get it back. Hower Aton with the defensive effort. And for Los Angeles, they’re shooting just 38% in this quarter. Smart with a bucket. The Celtics shooting at just 26% in the second. And here’s Simons outside. That’s been the difference tonight. They’ve been insanely disruptive on the glass. And he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And he drops the first Good on both. Well, Grant, it’s obvious who’s been in control of this game. You know, you really have to appreciate their relentlessness with four on the clock with two seconds left. and he lays it in. James has got 13 now. Fighting through contact. Not easy trying to corral LeBron when he’s focused on scoring. Good luck with that. And so it’s the Los Angeles Lakers leading by 17 at the end of the period. How about the way they’ve attacked the paint? This throwback approach is paying off. Back to the game after this break. The 2K Sports Halftime Show. Hello again folks. Ernie Johnson here with Kenny the Jet Smith and Shaquille O’Neal. It’s the NBA on 2K Sports and let’s talk the first half. LeBron James putting in some incredible work. He had 13 points, two assists, and five rebounds. What’ you think, Kenny, about what we saw from the Lakers? There was no shortage of times on this team. That’s for sure. Numerous guys displayed good court vision, moved the ball, led to great shots. They’re in full control of this game. and Shaq, your thoughts on the Celtics. They’re getting abused in the paint defensively, letting their opponents set the tone. Can’t match up physically. You’re toast. That’s what the scoreboard is reflecting right now. Toast with butter. And that does it for our halftime show. We now take you back to Kevin Harland for the start of the third period. And with the second half of upon us, we’ll find out if this game becomes the route that it’s threatening to be. You know, LeBron James has been exceptional here, guys. Yeah, they’ve done an amazing job of creating room to operate for him. And then of course executing. You know what? It helped that they had a few guys with very hot hands on the perimeter too. So it’s the Lakers now. Their biggest lead of the game was 21. And so in the game for Los Angeles, LeBron James out there with DeAndre Aton. Then it’s Luca Donuch. Then it’s Rui Aimura. And it’s Reeves in at the two. Donic with the bucket. Part for the course for Luca Donic. Just one of those games where he’s got it on cruise control. Tatum inside. Check by James. Tatum against James. Down to five on the shot clock. Controls the rebound and the put back. Great activity level on the boards. Impressive. Wow. Pass to Reeves. Here’s Aiden. Aimura outside and the shot counts. He’s fouled. And it’s a chance for a three-point play. Heat up here. One shot. Free throw good. Aimura. And with a little over a minute gone by, the second half is underway. on the wing. Tatum and he drives in. Played it in with a nice touch off the window. Tatum’s got eight. Tatum knows how to score in the paint, folks. He can make any adjustment needed to find the shot that works for him. Superb timing by LeBron on that alleyoop for Boston. They’ve got two of three from the floor in this third quarter. Outside Tatum. for three. Gets the three to fall. 11 points in the game. You’re leaving him all alone. Good luck. He’s going to drill that every time. And the call will be against Derek White. That’s foul number two for him. It’s time to take a glance again at that superb block. Oh my. Oh my. And that was textbook defense positioning himself well to send it back. And now around two minutes gone by in this half. Back to Donic. James outside. Just five on the clock. Misses in close. It seems like every miss ends up in his hands. He’s been unreal. Tell you what, those are crazy numbers, guys. I mean, believe me, I was a good rebounder in my day. It is not easy to corral that many boards in one night. Now here’s Tatum. He’s got 11. Pass to Pritchard. Donic with a block. And the defense of Donic looking a lot better. I mean, when he works hard at that end of the floor, he can get up and block some shots, too. Not a lot of them, but he can block a few. Two shots left on the first. The first free throw is good. Second free throw no good. The Lakers have gotten three or four shots to fall so far in the third. outside. Brown. Pass to Pritchard from deep. He drops it from range. Richard’s got six. Boy, Brown. Not just a super athlete, folks, but he’s got excellent skills as well. A tremendous floor jump. And this is exactly who you want taking that shot. He just missed it. Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line. That one on Donic. You know, I think that’s exactly the right attitude for White to have. Go at the defender head on and don’t back away from the contact. First free throw is good. It didn’t take long for White to distinguish himself in the league. He’s a really good ball handler and he’s got some good moves, too. No good on the second. So he hits one of two. The Lakers shooting a nice 50% for the game to the inside. Here’s Donic and he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. Dantic because he’s so skilled and so savvy. He does a nice job forcing the defense into tough spots when they’re guarding. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first one falls. Luca Donuch is a superstar in this league and he continues to build on what is going to be some kind of resume when it’s all said and done. Has every tool that you need to have to be an MVP one day. And the Lakers making a change here. Vanderbilt’s checked in. and good on the second. So he makes them both. The Celtics have gotten four of seven shots to drop in the third. Timeout called. The Celtics, he’s forcing shots offensively, hurting his team in the process. He needs to trust his teammates more. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Woo! Heat! Third quarter action and just under three and a half minutes have passed. Aimura against Brown. Well, I like the fact that the energy that Brown plays with makes him a guy that does a good job getting to the line. Heat. Heat. and he drops the first. And the vertical that Brown has is uh quite impressive. As relentless a finisher that you’ll find in this league. And both free throws good for Brown. The Lakers have gone three of five from the field in this third quarter. Aimura outside pass to Reeves. And here’s James. Aimura outside. Donic with it. And again, the Lakers no good outside. White on the wing. Tatum. Pass to Pritchard. Lets the three fly. The Lakers with a rebound. Their biggest lead of the game was 21. Hachimura against Brown and the call will be against Jason Tatum. That’s foul number two for him. Aimura outside. Six to shoot. It’s stolen. And keeping us updated from the sideline, Ally Leforce. Well guys, the Celtics are handing the keys to the two Jays, Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown. There have been growing pains and even some question if the pair could coexist, but Brown said, quote, “The adversity will help us grow. As long as I’m on the same page with him and he’s on the same page with me, we’re all good.” Brian, figuring it out, Ally, thank you. And let’s get your take, guys, on the scoring breakdown for the Lakers. I mean, they’ve played some beautiful basketball all game. The passing has been impressive and it’s opened up things with their ball movement. You know, something else, guys, you know, they came out of that tunnel sprinting in a full stride sprint that translated to the floor and lots of success in the fast break game. And so he hits both. And for the Lakers, they’re shooting it well. Almost 50% from the floor. Pass to Aimura down low. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the sh. So, two free throws for him coming up. That one on Tatum. LeBron deals with a ton of physical defense and he dishes out some physical contact, too. But that’s why he works so hard on his body. I mean, you might foul him, but you’re not going to push him around. No way, Jose. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. No good on the free throw. He hits the second from the line. The Celtics have gone four of eight in the third. Pass to Tatum. Out to the right wing. Three-pointer. Austin again missing. The Lakers have gotten three of six shots to fall so far in the third. And a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. two and he knocks down the first one and the Lakers making a change here. That one’s no good. Pulls in another board and he hauls in his 20th rebound. Just dominating the glass. The Lakers shooting it well. Almost 50% from the floor. Pass to Reeves. Donic right side. Here’s Vanderbelt. Second chance effort. And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. First one falls for him. hits both from the stripe. Here’s Brown. Give him eight. Brown draws the double. Pass to Pritchard. Shot clock at six. Here’s Tatum. Gets the jumper from the corner to fall. Tatum’s got seven points here in the quarter. Tatum aggressively looking for his shot now. Preparing before the pass arrives. Here’s ABC. Here’s Reeves using his post moves to get the two points and just totally relentless only increasing the intensity level. Yeah, I love the fact he doesn’t play the score. He just keeps coming attack mode. He doesn’t know how to step off the gas pedal. Outstanding triple drive. And that replay was brought to you by Mobile One. Yeah, that’s a little icing on the cake right there. Putting on a show while they enjoy a big second half lead. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. Jared Vanderbilt picks one up. 2. Free throw good. Brown. And some changes here for the Celtics. Hower, he’s checked in for Tatum and Simon has subbed in for White. Hayes has checked in for the Lakers. Smart comes in for Donic. And both free throws good for Brown. And the Lakers with possession here. Their biggest lead of the game was 21. Smart outside. pass to Hayes and he drops in the layup off the glass and the Lakers lead by 15. I like the play call. Very solid making perfect use of the pick to get a great look. Simons outside, tries it from the top of the key and he knocks the jumper down. pick works well there, but the defense left a lot to be desired. Yeah, that’s not the defense you need. You got to be tougher defensively. Now, here’s Smart driving inside. Pass to Hayes. Here’s Reeves. Off target from outside and he’s doing things on the glass tonight that we don’t often see. Boy, he has put in some major work. He’s earning his pay for sure. Here’s Hower. He’s got five now. Simons fires for three. Rebounded by the Lakers. James has got rebound number eight now. Oh, wasted no time on that one. He’s got six. I think he shot the ball well, guys, but I don’t think he shot it enough. The more shots he gets from here on out, the more they’ll stretch out this lead. Here’s Kada. He’s defended by Hayes. Here’s Pritchard. And Reeves pulls it down for Los Angeles. They’ve gotten six of their first 12 shots to drop in this third. And finished off by Hayes. What a perfect pass to set that up. Hey, the feed might have been pretty, but the finish that was angry. Well, you need both to make it special and they pulled it off just right. Now here’s Brown. 10 points for him. The shot off that time. The Lakers have gone seven of 13 in the second half. Here’s James. Ooh, he’s found his rhythm. Seven for 10 and counting. There aren’t many guys that can match LeBron when he’s in a really good scoring rhythm. Asserting himself on offense is problems for the defense and good for his team. Here’s Hower. He’s got five. Offensive board. Oh, nothing soft about that. Was not going to be denied. Just took the dunk that was right in front of him. Well, you know, if nobody’s going to put a body on him, then that’s going to be the result. Pass to Reeves. Now, here’s Hayes. Screen coming. Now Smart Hower grabs the board. Here’s Simons. It’s tipped go and they’re pushing it up. Here’s Reeves and the foul is called. He missed it. So he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. That free throw no good. DeAndre Eaton, he’s checked in for LeBron. And the second free throw is good. A difficult situation for Boston. They need something good to happen here. Yeah, they’ve gone way too long without a score. A minute 35 left in the third quarter. He’s been tremendous at corelling misses all night long. Yeah, I love the way he’s fighting through box outs using his elbows. I mean, he’s doing whatever it takes. Here’s Reeves and the officials whistle a foul on the shot. The bucket is good and he’ll go to the line and staring at a sizable deficit. The defense has to tighten up and if it doesn’t, this is only going to get uglier. I mean, that’s no way to defend a player of his caliber. Nice shot. The Celtics shooting 37% since the beginning of the third quarter. Now here’s Brown tightly guarded. Misses from close range. Well, the Lakers shooting about 53% on the third. A very good number. Smart outside. Pass to Reeves. Here’s ABC defended by Brown. Just five to shoot. Here’s ABC. Brown with some nice D. And the Celtics shooting just 28%. Lacking confidence on offense right now. And it’s Simons missing. Good offense squaring up against better D there. You got to appreciate that stop. Aiden against Bucher. Aiden passes to Hayes. Smart up top. Simons with a rebound to the middle. Kick out to Brown from about 19. No good there. And so it’s the Los Angeles Lakers. They’re feeling great. A 21-point lead. Their defensive efforts have paid off, effectively shutting down the opposing offense. Time for a quick break, then back to the action. And it’s time now to bring you our State Farm assist of the game. And I’ll tell you what, this was a nobrainer tonight. Take a look at the precision on this feed. Couldn’t place it any better. served him up a tasty room service dime right there, boy. And one quarter to go in a game that to this point has not been an evenly fought contest. The core of this team, Brown and Tatum, they’re the forwards. Anthony Simons out there with Derek White and it’s Buché in at the center. That’s who’s in the game for the Celtics. Here’s Simons and Aiden pulls it down. Aiden’s got his 16th rebound on the night. Donic outside. Fires the three. Kept alive. Pass to Reeves. The three is up. Drains the triple. Fantastic decision making. Aiden electing to move it for the high percentage look. Now here’s White. He’s closely guarded. Simons outside. Oh, a little luck that time as it drops. Fourth quarter of basketball. We’re about a minute into it. Pass to Aiden. uses the glass to finish the layup. So impressed with that bucket by Aiden. Fantastic body control from the big man. They’re searching for a way to score. Yeah, buckets have been very tough to come by. Now here’s Tatum. Here’s Buché for three. He buries it from three. Bush’s gotten himself going with a triple. His first basket of the game. Here’s Reeves. He’s guarded by White. Takes a three. Here’s Aiden. Goes back up. Oh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws now. That one on Tatum. Yes. Solid inside play by Aiden. Staying strong and taking the foul while still putting up a shot. shooting two. That one’s off. And some changes here for the Celtics. Kada comes in for Buchet and Pritchard is subbed in for Simons. And he ends up missing both free throws. The Celtics have gone two of three to open the fourth quarter. Brown with it. Hayes picks him up and it’s the Lakers on the break. They get the rebound. Here’s Aiden. And good work on the boards as they picked up the second chance points. Offensive rebounding is all about wanting it. Fantastic effort there leading to second chance points. Two, two. And he makes a first. So he makes one of two and the second one misses. The Lakers have got three of six shots to go in the fourth quarter. Pass to Reeves. Back to Aimura. Five to shoot with the sevenfooter and that one goes in as he’s fouled. It’ll be three points if he converts the free throw. LeBron, he’s checked in for the Lakers. One shot. And that one misses. Well, the Celtics shooting poorly at only 28%. Up top, Tatum outside. Brown. Pass to Pritchard. It’s stolen by Donic. Here’s Reeves. Here’s Aiden. The shot comes out. The Celtics have gotten half of their attempts to fall in the fourth. Two for four now. Almost too wide open there. That’s like a warm-up jumper for him. Here’s James. The shot that time not on target. Tatum with some nice D. Here’s White and he gets it back. And his teammates appreciate the energy. Nice job to keep the possession going. You kind of wonder where his head’s at. The shot selection hasn’t been there. And of course, that one was just crazy. Aiden, they get it again. He shoots a three and again the Lakers. It’s no good. The Celtics shooting only 29% since the fourth quarter began. And it’s Tatum missing. The Lakers shooting only 36% since the fourth quarter started. No good on that one. 7 for 12 now. White on the wing. And he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. Hey. And White is a fighter now. When he’s close inside, he’s committed to going aggressively to the rack. And if he doesn’t score, he at least is going to draw the foul. Two shots left on the first. That’s good from White. White hits them both. Now a timeout called by the Lakers and something fans don’t always get to see some of the closely guarded secrets that happen in that huddle. Yeah, typically there’s some type of adjustment made out of a timeout. It might be major or it could be just a slight tweak. Congratulations. Let’s go. And for the Lakers, they’re shooting 46% a decent average so far. Pass to Aimura. Donic right side. puts up a three. The shot misses and Boston going the other way now. Oh man, he can’t get anything to fall. You can feel his frustration and he’s got to find other ways to contribute then because his shot making is not happening right now. And no lack of aggression on that move. Good for the 2K drive. Yeah, he has that fight in him. Love the aggression at the rim when they are trying to claw back into the game. Here’s Reeves. He’s guarded by White. Donic passes to Aiden. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. shooting two. No good on that one. And he’s good on the second. Here’s Pritchard on the wing. Tatum. The basket drops and he gets fouled on the shot. One free throw coming his way. Tell you what, that’s impressive strength there from Tatum. You got to respect that. Even when you try to wrap him up, he finds a way to score. One shot. One shot. And the free throw no good. Donic outside. Pass to James and the shot goes in. James has got 21 points in the game. LeBron is somewhere in the neighborhood of about 260 lbs and there’s nothing extra there. so he can physically impose his will and flat out dominate near the rim. Here’s Pritchard. Oh, rejected by Eightton. They recover it. The Lakers shooting only 36% since the fourth quarter started right here. That one drops for him. 19 points in the game. And you know, you look at Dantic far forward. This guy handles the ball extremely well. He’s terrific at creating for himself off the dribble. Now here’s Brown. Pass to Pritchard. Six on the shot clock. Oh, it’s stolen by Aimura. James with the ball and it’s James with the jam. James throwing it down with that power dunk. You know, the defense can’t allow him to get what he wants inside because that’s easy pickings from LeBron. There’s another rebound. Rebound after rebound after rebound. He is crashing with energy. Man, you got to love it. The name of the game isn’t scoring. It’s scoring efficiency. Outside Brown. Here’s Pritchard to the inside and he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. It’s on LeBron James. two. First free throw is good. And it’s a completely new group for the Lakers. He does not get the second one. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. Two shots. The first free throw is good. So, hits one and misses one at the line. Well, Los Angeles shooting 47% since the fourth quarter started. And that one is stuffed right through the BA. When he gets the rim in his sights, it’s tough to stop. So aggressive and a determined finisher. Nice. And guys, I like the fact that he chose the one hand tomahawk slam because you get a little higher when you go off one hand and one foot. Now Los Angeles with it. They’ve outscored him 10 to two during this run. Here’s Vincent Smart outside. Yeah, he tried to gain position but couldn’t quite get there. Yeah, he was one step late that time. The Celtics making a switch here. fades and shoots the rebound. Celtics to the paint. Smart grabs the miss. And for Los Angeles, they’re shooting at a 48% clip from the floor. Back to Vincent. The shot’s good. He’s hard to stop when given any room to operate at all. Boston shooting only 27% for today’s game. inside. Shots blocked and he gets it back and they get it back to the right side. Pass to ABC from behind the ark. Here are the Lakers with the ball. Here’s Vincent. Outside Vanderbilt. Shot clock at five. Smart for three. Hits a three-pointer. Coach is loving the ball movement. Smart has gone one for two from the three-point line. Offensively, it’s been a struggle for him. Yeah, they need to string together some shots to have any kind of chance. Pass to Vincent to the middle. Smart with a bucket. Smart’s got five points now this quarter. Well, the analytics would say take either that shot or something from downtown. Back to Pritchard. Right wing trying to get back on track. The offensive rebound. He turns the offensive board into a big slam. Wow, he was so well positioned there. Credit his anticipation. That’s exactly why it’s important to work hard on the offensive glass, fellas, for chances just like that. Up top, Vanderbilt. Here’s Vincent. The rebound. Celtics. We’ve got 128 left in the fourth quarter here. And let’s face it, this one was never really in question. They came out with purpose and just overwhelmed the opposition. A great win for the Lakers. Offensively, they made the most of their trips. They found multiple ways to score consistently. And a little luck doesn’t hurt them either. They also got some nice bounces off the rim tonight, too. And we get spoiled sometimes, but we should take a second to appreciate what a sensational performance this has been for LeBron James. We saw him get a lot of touches tonight and he wasted very few of them. Really made himself the backbone of their offense. And the first one at the line is good. So he gets them both. 124 left in the fourth quarter here. Here’s Vincent to the paint. Here’s Vanderbilt. Misses the fadeaway. Boston shooting a low 26% from the field. Pass to Pritchard. Clock at six. That one a little long. Not sure if he just ran out of gas or what. He’s been awful ever since the second half started. It’s not even been a factor. Back to Smart. Oh, got a piece of it. 7sec difference between the shot clock and the game clock. That shot off. Just let the clock run out. Hey, it’s time to celebrate. Back to Vincent beyond the ark.
