  7. Anyone know how to watch the full game replay from last night? I normally watch every game on ESPN+ but it was blacked out in my local network. I’m wondering if it will become available in another day or two?

  9. can’t believe Kane is 37, maybe for his birthday they can have him play with danielson and finnie. (I know appelton did well with them but Compher and kane just are not working). I also just want to see it

  12. Offsides is a terrible but necessary rule. Going by the letter of the rule instead of the spirit of the rule grinds the game to a halt and doesn’t do anything to help the competitiveness of the sport

  15. I’ve been hard on this team this year because the potential is there. Last night that potential was on display. Those kids are going to be something one day. The vets played the way they should. The goaltending was solid and steady. Damn that was fun to watch.

    Danielson goal still counts. That was a fucking doozy.

    He becomes our 2C. ???-Kadri-Kane

    Our 4th line is the kid line. Finnie-Kasper-Danielsson.

    To get Kadri we trade Ras. That’s pretty fair in terms of value. We get someone older and costs more, Calgary saves some $$& and gets a guy who is younger with MAYBE a notch that could potentially get unlocked.

    Line 3 is a combo of Copp-Appleton-Compher-Bergers-JVR.

  20. Copps game can be summed up in that missed open net shot in the final minutes followed by fending off 4 opposing players all by himself behind the net afterwards.

    Kasper – Danielson – Finnie

    As the second line then

    Kane – Compher – Appleton/bergs

    As the third line

    Kane could play less minutes (preserving him through a long season) and still hold it down on PP1

    I think that second line could be strong, and would be a PIa to play against

  24. If we don’t to the typical “most points” litmus test, do we see Dylan flirting with the Hart conversation at 20 games in?

    In a genuine “most valuable” examination, I don’t think this team is where it is without him and would probably be in the basement. I’m not sure there’s many other players that are having the same tangible/intangible impacts on their team thus far….?

    Maybe it’s just bias, but its a different Dylan this year.

  27. Nice moves by Danielson on that second goal. And an outstanding pass to Finnie for his goal. ASP is good on the PP.

    Love the play of DeBrincat. Raymond taking over each shift. Seider and Edvinsson looking better. Seider did miss his coverage on the Eberle goal. He and Edvinsson must tighten that up a bit.

  31. Did asp get sat after the miscommunication or turnover behind the net?

    I don’t think I saw him for the last 3ish minutes. But that’s also when mo and Ed make their money so wouldn’t surprise me if they double shifted that pair for the last few minutes.

  32. Great game last night. Don’t care of Danielsons one goal got called back I want to see that on his highlight reel.

    Want to give a little nod to the Toddfather. Some of us may remember when the bad man was here a year ago and the team effectively had no morale….those were dark times.

    Nearly a year with McLellan at the helm and they’re first in the Atlantic after 20 games. The youth movement is in full swing, they are in playoff position and the advanced metrics look good.

    The man has done a remarkable job both with this teams psychology, just play hockey… and with the X and Os. The PK has made a remarkable improvement and so has the 5v5 play.

  35. I’m having the worst day fair. Woke up after two hours of invigorating sleep to the news that my guinea pig needed to go to the emergency vet because of an eye infection. Doctors visit in the morning, vet visit in the early afternoon and one my way home my phone gets stolen. No hockey today to cheer me up.

  36. I feel like this season is all about making hay when the sun is shining. We’ll likely be inconsistent and might struggle down the stretch with all the rookies playing more games against harder competition than they’ve ever seen, so it’s really important that we keep rolling as much as possible when things are going well. I hope last night will spark some life and we can stack some points during this busy stretch.
