My own things to follow:

1 – Cam Ward.

He is holding his territory and showing growth. Numbers aren’t steadily rising, but that’s what I conclude from the tapes.

2- rookies and sophomores:

In real play, the picture is quite dark. Most of the young players are inconsistent, which is a normal part of the Brian Callahan experiment turning into a survival contest. Some draftees have thrived, but: they haven’t met the expectations so far.

At least some stats are borderline promising.

PFF grades:

Rookies:

• Cam Ward (QB): 34 of 38

• Oluwafemi Oladejo (DE): 109 of 117

• Kevin Winston (S): not enough snaps

• Chimere Dike (WR): 74 of 84 WRs

• Gunnar Helm (TE): 12 of 38

• Elic Ayomanor (WR): 73 of 85

• Jackson Slater: not enough snaps

• Marcus Harris (CB): not enough snaps, 63.7

• Kalel Mullings (RB): not enough snaps

Sophomores:

  • JC Latham (T): 50 of 76

  • T’Vondre Sweat (DL): 19 of 124

  • Cedric Gray (LB): 11 of 81

  • James Williams (LB): not enough snaps

  • Jaylen Harrell (DE): not enough snaps, 63.3

3- It’s a painful process but I still wait for a win. FGs scored grabbed my attention. Both non-offensive TDs vs the Chargers mattered to me. The team finishing 1-15 is quite probable but another win would be something I celebrate.

4- Mike McCoy’s CV: 20 years on the sidelines, 4 years as a head coach: I can’t but think he has anything under his sleeve.

5- The draft. the team has its QB and his backup. Borgonzi talked the talk and the draft is where he’s ought to walk the walk.

6- I still cherish the NFL existence in Nashville and the existence of Bud Adams’ legacy franchise. The two-tone blue jersey embodying these things still prevents me from pulling the plug.

  1. I’m following less than I probably ever have since we got the team. I went hunting on Sunday and never even checked the score on my phone. Forgot all about it and listened to some of the post game on the way home.

  2. Cam being the 34th best QB is a little disheartening, but if we factor in just half of the dropped passes…maybe closer to 25.

1-16 is possible because of the 17 games, but I do think we squeak out at least 1 if not 2 wins the rest of the way. In recent years, we tend to win those we shouldn’t…so maybe this week against the Seahawks. Any given Sunday and all that.

Borgonzi gets way too much credit for a draft where his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks have yet to make a positive impact.

  4. Anyone notice bones has ran zero fakes. He used to be the master at fakes

    Wonder why that is

  5. I find that this team is much better to watch when you have the Benny Hill theme song playing in the background

  6. At this point you’re watching for draft position. They’re building and showing positive signs. They get another number one pick and they’ll be in great position!
