So, with that said, um yeah, I guess we’ll just go we got a few things to cover, I think, outside of the here because uh you know, maybe there’s a couple things we just like to kind of get off target or whatever, much like our team does. Um, Audriana, give us your thoughts about obviously Jameus Win got the start. Mike Povka had his first head coaching duties in the NFL. What you think about the What did you think about the performance on Sunday? Better than I expected. Uh, you know, going into this game with Jamus and knowing what this Packers defense is like and Micah Parsons, um, I was definitely concerned about it. They’re top five in the NFL. They’re really good against the run and I was really felt like it was going to be a challenge for us to establish the run. So, I was impressed. I mean, their defense was holding opposing uh teams run games to 91 yards a game. We put up 142. You know, putting up 20 points against this Packers defense. We did a lot of things right. And I really felt like, wow, this is way better than I expected because with this football team, you just never know what you’re going to get. The only thing that is certain is that you’re going to get a fourth quarter collapse from the defense. Other than that, it could go anyway. So, you know, I was impressed that they kept it close. Um, I feel like I I liked a lot of what Kofka did. Two things that he talked about earlier in the week was being aggressive and being accountable. And he did both of those things right off the bat. So, I like that he is a man of his word and he stuck with it. Um, I mostly like the play calling. Again, they were good at establishing the run and I thought that was really impressive against this Packers team. Um, Isaiah Hajins is a stud. Cannot understand why they didn’t sign him earlier. Just absolutely stupid decision-making from the front office. What else is new? Um, and you know, we we got really lucky because much like the Bears, apparently the Packers wide receivers do not know how to catch the ball. So, um, that like that game should have gotten out of hand real fast and we got very lucky that we didn’t. And for the second week in a row now, we just couldn’t capitalize on opportunities, which is the other team’s wide receivers not catching the ball. So, we got really lucky with that. You know, Brian Burns on defense, two sacks, the guy’s a machine. Super fun to watch. devastating news about Paul Saninibbo. Having to watch Tay Banks out there again made me want to gouge my eyes out. The fact that he’s still on this football team, the fact that he puts no effort into almost every single play and then Corey Black, this practice squad guy who’s out there working his ass off. I’m like, give him all the snaps. Like, and then he got injured and I I was losing my mind, but I was glad that he came back. Um, you know, the whole thing with Abdul Carter, we found out afterwards he wasn’t actually sleeping, but he missed a walkthrough due to treatment. And I was screaming at my TV trying to figure out why Abdul Carter is not on the field. But I give my Kafka credit. You have to hold these players accountable. Actions have consequences. And as much as I want to see Abdul Carter on the field every damn play, you miss a walkthrough, you’re not going to be out there. So I appreciate that about him. Um I think losing Paul Sanbo was a huge blow. I think, you know, maybe they would have had a chance at potentially winning the game if he was out there and could have made some plays. Uh no, Nuben. you know, as bad as Newin has been this year, uh, the secondary was atrocious without him and Adbo. So, I don’t know, could have used the help from those two guys. Um, I also like the fact that they benched Drew Phillips and put in Nick Jones when they felt like he wasn’t doing a great job. So, there are a lot of things that I liked about it. Obviously, we lost. Um, at this rate, I’m not even upset because we have the second overall pick and at this point, I’m just like, it is what it is. Like, they’re still keeping on Shane Bowen, so don’t tell me you want to win. Like, Um, the one thing I will say though is that my biggest complaint from the game was the uh second to last drive for the Giants offense, the Jaylen Hyatt throw, catch, whatever you want to call that awful play. To me, the biggest gripe that I have is on Mike Kafka. And I just feel like it was, you know, interim head coach type of issue. In no way, shape or form is anyone should be relying on Jaylen Hayyatt to catch the game-winning ball. Why are you not running it? You have over a minute left. You have three timeouts. You’ve established a run against this defense. I cannot for the life of me understand why number one, they didn’t just run the ball. Try to get a little bit closer. Um, try to run the clock out a little bit. So, you’re giving the Packers back with not that much time and two timeouts, maybe even less at that rate. And the second thing is if you’re going to throw the ball to anyone, literally throw it to anyone else. I just the Jaylen Hyatt throw like Jameus Winston is doing his job. I just I can’t for the life of me understand why that was the play call. And, you know, I I can be blinded and say like, you know, it’s nice to give Jaylen Hyatt at the opportunity, but Kafka, you’ve been here for too long, man. You got to know better than that. Like, I appreciate that you wanted to give him the chance. You know, maybe on a game-winning play, he’s not the guy, not the target there. Uh, I would have liked to see them throw it. Like, I could have forgive Theo Johnson if he dropped it, right? Like, I’d rather see that than, you know, see Jay Lenha just stop running the route, which also is giving me deja vu because we’ve already seen it from Bo Collins and we’ve seen it from other wide receivers on this team. like I I didn’t really need it from Jaylen Hyatt again. So, um overall just, you know, disappointing, but I I guess there were some good things that came out of it. It could have been worse. Yeah. Anthony, I know Jaylen Hyatt’s your favorite receiver on the Giants. What did you think about the game overall? Jaylen Hyatt might be my least favorite New York Giant of all time. I can’t stand watching him play football. Pass Daniel Jones for Oh, you know what? Daniel Jones won a playoff game for us. Where’s Jaylen? I got my gripes with with DJ, but I mean Jaylen I every time I watch him play, it’s a drop, but he’s also calling for a flag before the ball even hits his hands. I just can’t stand watching him play football. But that was the one play that was a stupid decision to throw to Jaylen Hyde in that situation. Like Audriana just said, she broke it down perfectly. So, not much more else I can add to that. But the game as a whole, I drew a lot of po positives from the game. I thought that the team did fight for Mfka. I thought that the offense really fought for him. I thought that they looked more cohesive as a team as well. But I still think the issues on the defensive side of the ball are the same issues that we’ve always had. And I think what you saw was the offense fighting and rallying behind their offensive coordinator in this bigger position. And what you saw was the defense not rallying, not buying in and believing in their defensive coordinator that’s been holding them back all season. And I don’t think you see true and real change with this team. And you don’t see real improvement on the defensive side of the ball until there’s a new leader who’s leading that defense. And to my understanding, KFKA’s gotten more involved than Dable was in terms of leading the defense. He’s sitting in on those meetings now and he’s trying to help a little bit more to get that defense on the same page. But I just don’t think it’s enough. I think what we see is that collectively they don’t believe in the guy who’s leading them and they don’t want to play for him anymore. And that’s why you have the lack of effort. That’s why you have those give up plays. That’s why you have a defense that’s super talented on paper just severely underperforming. So Shane Bowen’s got to go. I understand why Kfka maybe didn’t want to fire him in his first week as the interim head coach. Makes sense. But I don’t know how much longer he can sit in that chair and stand on that sideline and allow this defense to underperform in this way without holding somebody accountable. And number one should be Shane Bowen. Truthfully, I get why they fired Dable. In fact, I was in support of firing Dable. But Shane Bowen should have gone first. And maybe Dable should have maybe that’s on Dable. Dable probably should have fired Shane Bowen. Maybe that could have extended his lifeline here as the head coach of the New York Giants, but he didn’t. That’s his fault. He’s gone. Kfka needs to learn the lesson and he needs to make a change in that coaching regard so this defense can start to play better. Especially if he’s auditioning for the Giants head coaching job. He’s got to win some games and he’s not going to win a whole lot of games with this defense continuing to cost this team big moments in the fourth quarter. I mean what was this the I think this is the fourth 10-point lead in the fourth quarter that they’ve blown this season. It’s an utter embarrassment and it really just highlights um how dysfunctional this organization is. So whether you want to talk about players late to meetings, table cutting them slack, or just still the lack of effort from guys like Deontay Banks. It’s not just Banks though. Banks is the most obvious about it. But there are other guys who aren’t putting in effort. But really, I want to pull the positives. Look at how the offense fought. Brian Burns, he had those two sacks. They were cleanup sacks, but he’s constantly around the quarterback because he’s always putting in effort. Giants need more guys like Brian Burns who’s just constantly driving and motoring and trying to make a play. I want every player on the New York Giants playing like that. I understand it’s tough to do when you’re a two and9 team and the season is spiraling out of control, but those guys who still do it in the two-9 like Brian Burns and like Jackson Dart, like Scatteroo was doing it when we were losing, I want more guys like that. And I think that the Giants really need to be diligent this off season, getting rid of the guys who don’t put out any effort and bringing in more guys who hold themselves to that same level of excellency that Brian Burns holds himself to and that Jackson Dor holds himself to because that’s what this Giants team really needs. Chris, we watched the game together. What did you think about Kofka’s debut? Yeah, I had to double check. Anthony, I don’t think we ever had a double digit lead, a 10-point lead in this game, but we have had several other games, but my fault. They had a lead in this game. Not double digit, but they have blown four double they had. Yeah, they had a fourth quarter lead. Yeah, they had a fourth quarter lead. But, um, yeah, I mean, my take away from this game as far as Kofka goes, there’s nothing about this game that I take out from a negative light. I don’t think Kafka is going to be the head coach next year. I think this is kind of an audition for him to see if he can get a head coaching opportunity somewhere else next year, whether it be with another NFL team or another team at the at the collegiate level. So, I do think it’s very important for him, but I don’t expect him to be the head coach next year for the New York Giants. Uh, if I want to nitpick, I think he made one really stupid challenge early on in the game. I remember pointing that out to you, Bad Dog, during the game. I don’t remember the exact play, but I remember thinking it was it was a dumb challenge. But yeah, he said the guy stepped out of bounds, and he he didn’t step out of bounds. Overall, though, I think he did fine. Um the the one player I want to mention that uh hasn’t been mentioned yet that to me really stood out for the first time all year, which is crazy to say that is Dexter Lawrence. Uh Dexter Lawrence looked like the Dexter Lawrence that you come to expect each and every Sunday this past game. He was breaking up double teams, getting constant pressure on the quarterback. Um so it was really good to see that from him. Um and on the offensive side of the ball, the offensive line was incredible in this game. Um I thought this was their best. It’s either this or the first Eagles game. I thought was their best performance. When you look at that pass rush they’re going up against with Micah Parsons and Gary, not just in pass protection, run blocking as well. They did a great job. Tyrone Tracy had a fantastic game. Uh they were able to establish the ground attack and they were able to provide Jamus with uh a lot of protection. Um the game probably shouldn’t have been as close as the score was. Winston threw four balls that probably should have been picked throughout the course of the game that was in and out of the defender hands. As Audriana said, the Packers had at least three or four crucial drops. I thought Jordan Love played a really good game. The stats may not indicate it, but he played really well throughout the game. His receivers did him no favors. Um, but ultimately, yeah, from a positive standpoint, I think the offensive line uh continues to get better and and the Giants have to find a way to keep Carmen Barcelo here because this this has been the best the Giants offensive line has looked um in quite some time in my opinion at least. A lot of it has to do with the fact that Andrew Thomas is there, but I think they’re building something there. They need to add a few pieces on the interior. And JMS over the last couple weeks has been playing good football. So, that to me is the biggest positive to take out of this week was the offensive line play. And Dexter Lawrence looked like the Dexter Lawrence that we come to expect. Yeah. I um I kind of feel the same way all you guys do. Um I don’t think I don’t think Kofka did anything egregiously poor. This is just a microcosm of the Giants season. Every game they’re blowing a fourth quarter lead. And we’ve talked numerous times about how going into the year we were really stoked about the defense and what the defense could be. And and how the offense, if they could just make some plays, we’d probably have a good team. The offense has made more than enough plays. Defense sucks. Anthony said at the beginning of the year, “This defense is idiot proof.” Uh, well, our defensive coordinator is a massive idiot. I I don’t know what else to say, man. I put a stat on Twitter today. The Giants are dead last in defense in the NFL. Total defense dead last. They’re 30th against the rush. Uh, they’re 29th in points given up, and they’re tied for 31st in turnovers. I I don’t understand how a team with Abdul Carter, uh, Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, Kayon Thibido, uh, I I don’t understand how that team can’t get a stop in the fourth quarter every game. It’s the same song and dance. They don’t know how to win. Okay, now I don’t know if this is because Kofka comes from the Dable tree. I place a shitload of blame on Shane Bowen and I we can place all the blame one on Brian Dable and he was definitely a part of it but man Shane Bowen should have like Anthony said he should have been gone first. He should have been gone first. Why Dable didn’t fire that guy? I don’t understand. And yeah, if Kofka wants to audition for a head coaching job, he’s have to win some games. Now the Giants have games they can win. They’re they if you watch Cowboys Vegas game, the Giants should beat Vegas. Okay, Minnesota’s not any good. Their quarterback sucks. I don’t care what anybody says. That guy’s not good. Not right now. Maybe he’ll be good in the right now. He’s terrible. He is awful. Um, the Cowboys don’t scare me. Washington’s done. There’s games that they can win. But, you know, we’re two and nine, so it’s not like we’re world beaters either. And teams are probably looking at the Giants going, “That’s a team we can beat.” Same way we look at them go, “We can beat Vegas. Vegas probably like, well, you know, Brock Bower is going to have 15 catches, 180 yards, and three touchdowns against that defense because can’t nobody tackle. Uh, we can’t get a we can’t get a freaking sack. We need Nobody makes a play on defense when we need it. When we absolutely have to have it. No, they don’t. Chris, I mentioned to you during the game, the Giants defense never gets the shutdown inning. Whenever we score, the defense gives it right back. We I swear to God, I don’t remember the last time we scored and got a team off the field without them scoring. It just seems like, okay, we scored a touchdown, they’re going to get at least three, if not seven. Or vice versa, we get three, they’re going to get seven. It’s It’s insanity how bad the defense is. Yeah, the secondary is beat up. I know we have injuries. I’m not using that as an excuse. Our big guns are healthy. All right. Burns has 13 sacks. Dex played fantastic. Kun’s had a good year. Abdel Carter’s got a lot of pressures. He just can’t finish. He was in on both of those sacks that Burns got. You know, he got the initial pressure and and Carter had a few sacks called back because of penalties. But this Carter Carter had one really bad player I remember during the game right where he he completely left left the edge open I think. Yeah. Yeah. He lost contain rookies do that crap. I’m not coming down on him. But I remember that [ __ ] up. The defense as a whole is just terrible. And if somebody would have told me that that would have been the weaker unit going into the season, I would have been your unit. Yeah. Full of [ __ ] There’s just there’s no way. So, um, where am I looking here? There it is. Uh, yeah, it works. I just want to say before we start talking about Shane Bowen and when he should be fired, if he should be fired, this portion of Giants Collective is brought to you by our friends at Manta Sleep. And trust me, this is perfect, guys. You put this on during the Giants fourth quarter. This is how you want to watch the fourth quarter. And you know why this is the official mask of the New York Giants? Abdul Carter wore this. That’s why he fell asleep and missed the missed the meeting because Abdul had his his mask on without question. And Shane Bowen also calls the defense in the fourth quarter wearing this. So you can tell the Giants are big on these things, but they probably shouldn’t wear them during work. So I wouldn’t suggest that. But check out Man, get 10% off your order. And uh yeah, let’s talk about Shane Bowen. Anthony, is this guy gonna get fired this year or are they going to hold on to him? And if he does get fired, when do you think it will be? It’s a little bit shocking that he hasn’t been fired yet. And it almost makes me think that they’re just not going to fire him this year since it hasn’t happened yet. Maybe it just won’t at all. But no, I think that listen, they’re about to play the Detroit Lions. Detroit Lions are really good. I know that they just lost to Philadelphia. The offense didn’t score. Philly’s defense is insane. This feels like it’s the perfect week for Detroit to just have a massive bounceback 50point performance and that’s going to get Shane Bow in the boot for sure if that happens. So I I think it could happen soon. You’re going up against a high powered offense. That running back duo Jir Gibbs is insane. Jared Goff’s playing good ball this year. Uh Williams is starting to break out. We all know how good Aman Russ Brown is. I mean, Detroit should have their way with this Giants defense, honestly, because they’re so stacked in terms of receiving talent, and our secondary is so banged up and injured. The guys that we have starting out there should not be starting, like Banks and Cory Black. I mean, it’s a rough unit for the New York Giants on the back end. And I think that the Lions might just take the top off the defense. Even as good as a pass rush can be, as good as Brian Burns has been, as good as Dexter Lawrence was last week in the game against the Chargers, how good he’s been throughout his career, I just think it’s going to be really tough for this secondary to match up against that receiving core. And so, if they score a lot of points, I could see Shane Bowen totally get in the boot next Monday. I think he’s on thin ice as it is. And I really think that the Giants are one bad defensive performance away from just finally relieving him of his duties. And we’ll see if that does happen this Sunday. But if not, then I think the by-week maybe. It’s also tough though because who’s calling the plays in place of Shane Bowen if he gets fired? Marquen Manuel. He’s the defensive backs coach, defensive passing game coordinator. I guess he’s in line to take the job. He used to call plays for Atlanta, I think in 2019 when he was the DC over there, but he’s only been here for half a season. Uh, and I I think when you look at him as the defensive backs coach and you look at how bad the defensive backs have been, do you really want that guy calling the plays? So, there’s not really a good replacement on this coaching staff. So, I think that kind of complicates things too for the Giants. But what it really comes down to for me is leadership. It’s clear that Shane Bowen’s leadership is not resonating with the players. The players aren’t playing for him. And if they lose another ugly one and Shane Bowen’s to blame, the Giants need to find somebody who’s a better leader to run that defense so that the players start playing with a little bit more effort. Chris, do you think Shane Bowen will be fired? And if he is, when do you think it’ll happen? I mean, he should have been fired already. Uh, you know, and and I think Anthony said it earlier, Dable should have fired him probably three or four weeks ago. um should have been fired already. I I as I said last week, I think the reason why Dable got fired in season has less actually to do with the team’s performance and more to do with his handling of Jackson Dart and the way that he handled the concussion protocol. That’s just my personal opinion on the matter. And obviously the inseason, you know, results didn’t help. Um but as far as um Bowen goes, if he’s going to be fired, I think it’ll be within the next two weeks. I think it’ll either be after this game where I think the Giants defense is going to get completely slaughtered on the road in Detroit against just a much better opponent and our secondary is completely banged up or it’ll happen after the Patriots game when they have an extra week to prepare. If it doesn’t happen in the next two weeks, he’s not going to be fired. I don’t think I think he’ll I think he’ll finish the year out as a defensive coordinator. My opinion at this point, would I like to see him get fired? Sure. But does it really matter? Not really. In the grand scheme of things, there’s six or seven games left. uh we all know he’s not going to be back next year. The if the any head coach that interviews for the New York Giants, if they even uh hint that Shane Bowen should be a candidate for a defensive coordinator job, they should they should not even get a second interview to be the head coach for the New York Giants. So, I think we could all agree Shane Bowen’s not going to be back after this year. Would I like to see him get fired? Sure, he sucks. The defense has completely uh underperformed this year, but in the grand scheme of things, if they don’t fire him, I’m not going to go crazy about it. But if it does happen, I think it’ll be within the next two weeks. Ariana, what do you think? Is he getting fired? And if so, when? At this rate, I don’t think they’re gonna if they fire him in season. I think it will be during the buy because I just think that part of it is that Kafka maybe feels like no one else is going to do a better job or maybe he feels like he needs to give Bowen an opportunity to follow his lead. You know, one of the Kofka one of the things that Kofka said was he was going to be aggressive and he was and part of that was having the defense blitz. They blitz like 40 I think 6% of the time which is significantly higher than it has been in weeks. So I don’t know if that’s a part of it. Maybe he’s like I just need to get him to be aggressive and we’ll see something different. But you know if the defense keeps blowing fourth quarter leads I don’t know how you justify keeping him aside from the fact that uh they they must think no one else is better. But there’s a 0% chance he makes it past you know Black Monday. Yeah. Um, but it at this rate it wouldn’t surprise me if they kept him for the rest of the season. I I don’t really have any good reason why. I just think that if they didn’t fire him at this point, um, why now? You know, there’s six games left. Like Chris said, we’re probably going to get absolutely destroyed by the Lions on Sunday. So then you’ve got one game left before the buy. Like at that rate, is it really going to make that much of a difference? And then you’ve only got I think it’s three games left after the buy. So I don’t know. In my mind, I’m I’m just like, what’s the point, you know? Like, you think that all of a sudden with an interim defensive coordinator for three or four games left that the defense is just going to get it together? I mean, maybe they really hate Bowen and that is the reason why they’re playing the way that they’re playing. like I don’t know the answer to that, but um I there could be a possibility that if they, you know, promote someone from within for a couple weeks that maybe we see players be more involved, but at that rate, who cares? You’ve got three games left. The season’s over. You’re not fighting for a division. You’re not fighting for a playoff spot. Like, it just doesn’t matter at this point. And I know so many fans are like, “I’m done with Bow. I want him gone.” And I get it and I don’t blame you. like he sucks as a defensive coordinator, but I’m just like I don’t even care at this point. Like we’re not what like what is the point? I’m just like to me to me it’s irrelevant at this point because the season’s over. Uh and and we know he’s not coming back next year and it’s not like it’s not like you could say kind of like what Anony’s theory was with Kafka. At least you get to see him for six or seven games to see if he could be a head coach for you next year, right? If you bring in an interimm defensive coordinator, I’m of the mindset that Kafka is not going to be the head coach next year. So, if you’re going to bring in a new head coach anyway, you’re not really there’s really no value other than if you think the defense is going to play better, which they very well may for the last four or five games, but there’s no real value for next year. So, if they fire him, I’ll applaud it. He should have been fired five weeks ago. Um, if they don’t, it’s like whatever at this point. That’s what’s so annoying to me is like it it was the same thing with Dable. Like it just feels like it’s too little too late. The same thing with Isaiah Hajins. Like, okay, bring him back now. Like, yeah, he’ll help Jackson Dart, but you guys could have done it the day that Malik Neighbors went down when you actually had a chance at winning football games and fighting for anything. The division sucks. It sucks so badly. It’s just so frustrating to me that it seems like so much of the moves that they make are reactive and not proactive. And I’m just like, yeah, I’m glad Dable’s gone, but again, it just it all feels too little too late to me. Like, okay, Dable’s gone. Great. Like Chris said, I agree with I think it has more to do with Jackson Dart’s injury than anything else. But again, like the season’s over. I don’t really care. Like I I’m at this point I’m just like, keep losing and we’ll have the second overall pick and we’ll go to Pittsburgh and be excited about the draft for the [ __ ] fifth year in a row because it’s the only thing to be excited about. I want fired. I want him fired. I don’t give a [ __ ] The fans deserve their pound of flesh for putting up with this [ __ ] all season long. If you’re going to fire Dable, then you might as well fire Shane Bowen. And I understand Kovac is the interimm head coach and they want to see if he can be a head coach and that’s fine. But I also want to see if Shane Bowen’s got a lot to do with the failures of the defense, a guy like Abdul Carter. Is this Abdul Carter just not what we think he is or is this Shane Bowen’s scheme? Why Dexter Lawrence regress? What about these guys in second? We know Deontay Banks is a lost cause, but Banks looked decent when Wick Martenddale was here. Tyler Nuben regret. Everybody regressed on this defense. They probably hate the guy. I want to make my players happy. And if it’s obvious that they’re just going through the motions out there. This is the first time we saw Dex have a little fire. Maybe that’s cuz he didn’t get along with Dable. Who knows? And yeah, it might not make a difference at the end, but that’s the whole thing. It doesn’t make a difference. So get rid of the [ __ ] guy. We lost four 10-point leads in the fourth quarter. This [ __ ] should have been in the unemployment line after Dallas. How we blew that is beyond me. And then you do the same [ __ ] just worse in Denver. You blow a 26-8 lead with five minutes to go and your rookie quarterback against that defense in that stadium put up five touchdowns including the gamewinner with 30 seconds to go. And Bowen still, it’s almost like he tried to lose cuz I’m sitt there’s no way in hell he’s going to do this again. There’s no way in hell he’s going to drop Brian Burns in his own coverage instead of blitzing them at the end of a game, right? No. Of course he does. Of course. And then the Bears, same thing. Then we shut him down the whole game. 55 minutes. They can’t do [ __ ] Last five minutes. Hey guys, go ahead. Here you go. Oh, hey. Just walk right on by. It’s frustrating. [ __ ] him. Get him the hell out of here. I I think most fans, it doesn’t matter if we don’t win another game or we win every game. Fans deserve to see that guy fired. If anybody was the reason the Giants are two and nine more than anybody else, it is the defensive coordinator that [ __ ] up four or five games this year. That’s true. Because again, if we close out the three games we definitely should have closed out, we would have went five and five going into that game uh on Sunday. I I agree with you. I’m rooting for him to be fired. I to me it’s just at a point now where it’s like how much does it really matter? It makes me feel good. It makes this about me. At most you’re going to see another defensive coordinator for five games because he’s obviously going to be the DC this week. So, it’s like I don’t know. I don’t really see a ton of value at this point because the season’s done with. I can’t look at him anymore, Chris. Like Anthony said, he can’t look at Jaylen Hyatt. A can’t look at Deontay Banks. I can’t look at Shane Bowen anymore. I can’t look at a guy. I I can’t I’m gonna every time he comes on camera, I’m gonna put this man to mask on and I ain’t got to see him. I ain’t gotta worry about it. I I I just I can’t stand Shane Bower, man. I I swear he’s the worst defensive coordinator I’ve ever seen in my life. We’ve had some bad ones here, but he he is terrible with the talent that’s on this team. It’s crazy to think that we can’t get out of our own way that we are it’s just at the bottom, if not dead last, in so many defensive categories. And it’s not because the offense is turning the ball over. We’re going three and out all the time. It’s not even that. We said if the offense can do anything, the defense can be fresh. The defense is going to dominate. It’s been like the complete opposite. The offense had to pick picked the defense up all freaking season. It’s It’s insane to me that that’s the way it went down. Speaking of defense, Abdul Carter, you know, Abdul Carter uh not having the best season. Not a terrible year in my opinion. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great. uh supposedly fell asleep. Whatever the hell the reason was. He said he was in therapy or whatever was going. He was late to meetings and he got benched to start. What is your thought on that Chris? Yeah, I read the story at least that the post dropped and uh it said something about he didn’t fall. I know that like was the initial thought. I think he like from what I read Kafka like changed like the pre the Friday morning routine that the team hadn’t been doing all year and Carter hadn’t heard about it because he was in a I guess wherever that rehab thing was. I don’t know all the correct terminology, but where he was, a lot of the people weren’t, so it was kind of away in the facility, so he wasn’t made aware of it. But regardless, um, as far as Carter goes this year, I think underwhelming is a good word, but I’m not panicking at all. I still think he’s incredibly talented. I still love that the New York Giants drafted him. Um, and I think he’s going to be a great pro. You know, I look at JC Pierre Paul, the year we drafted him, his first year, he didn’t do a whole lot of damage. His second year, he was one of the best defensive players in the year. Now, I’m not saying Carter’s going to take that leap. I think he’s capable of it, but he’s a rookie and he’s learning on the job. And I think once we get a defensive coordinator in here, as he learns to grow as a pro, we got to remember he doesn’t have a whole lot of experience as an edge rusher either. He played linebacker at Penn State until his last year. I think his physical talent is off the charts and I think he’s going to grow and he’s going to become a great pass rusher. Um, but for his rookie year, yeah, it’s been underwhelming. There’s no doubt about it. He was the third overall pick. Uh, I thought he was the most talented player in the draft class and he hasn’t lived up to it in his first year. That’s not to say he can’t turn around next year and have 15 sacks because I think he’s completely capable of it. But but for this year specifically, it’s been underwhelming. AJ, what do you think about Abdul Carter being late to the whatever the hell it was, the meeting, walkth through, whatever the hell it was? I I mean, obviously it’s concerning, right? And then there was a report that came out that also said that Abdul Carter was late to some meetings and Dable never did anything about it. Didn’t care that he was late. So, um, in my opinion, it’s just it goes with the whole culture of no accountability. Um, but I like that Abdul Carter stood up for himself and said, “I wasn’t sleeping. I, you know, missed the walkthrough because of rehab. I was rehabbing, whatever.” Um, and, you know, it sounds like he kind of took it like a champ, but I I’m not worried like you guys, I’m not worried about Abdul Carter in the long run. I think he’s going to be fine. Um, I think he’s a rookie who’s going through rookie struggles and he’s going to figure it out. Um, I think if we had a different defensive coordinator, I think if we had a different scheme, I think we probably would have enjoyed a different better season out of Abdul Carter. I think that’s part of it. Um, but the other thing is I just appreciate that Kafka is sticking to his word and said accountability is important and you know, obviously they didn’t bench him the whole game or the first quarter or whatever, but they obviously agreed and told him like this is what we’re going to do. You missed the meeting regardless of what the issue is. like everyone else knew to be here and for some reason you didn’t know when the walkthrough was. So, um I hope that he doesn’t make that mistake again. He’s learned, figured it out. Hope they’re all going to communicate better and uh you know I don’t I I hope this is just like a blip in the radar. And honestly, I think it’s just because we’re losing between this and between scat at the WWE thing. Like if the Giants were winning games, I don’t think anyone would care that Abdul Carter missed one series because he missed a walkthrough, you know, because he was rehabbing. He wasn’t like drifting in the parking lot or, you know, doing something stupid like he was in the building. He just was not in at the actual walkthrough. So, I just think it’s amplified because of, you know, another losing season. You fired the coach, the whole thing. But um I I’m just happy that Kafka is having some accountability and that’s one of the things that to me is really important about whoever they bring in as the next head coach. Anthony, what were your thoughts about the Abdul Carter situation? Well, when I heard that he was napping during the meeting, obviously I thought that was kind of ridiculous and I was frustrated by that. But he’s come out and said that he was getting treatment and he was having red light therapy and I think that’s more understandable. his explanation of it with the meetings kind of shifting around, the schedule changing because of the new head coach. That all makes sense to me. But there are reports, I think it was Dan Dugen of The Athletic, who I I think is a pretty trustworthy reporter. I think he put out there that there have been several meetings that Carter has been late to throughout the season. Carter says that’s not true. But what’s Carter going to say? Of course, he’s going to say that’s not true. Even if it is, he’s going to protect his image. That makes sense. I think at the end of the day, though, like Audriana said, the New York Giants, they’re losing a lot of football games. Everything’s under a microscope. Every mistake that they make, it amalgamates. You know, you look at one issue, you look at one off the- field thing, it just all looks worse because the team is two and nine. So Abdul Carter at the end of the day, he doesn’t have any sacks. So when you look at the situation at hand, you’re like, well, how do you have no sacks and you’re not going to the meetings and you’re not working harder to get better? Doesn’t mean he’s not working harder to get better. It doesn’t mean that he’s not out there playing good football because in my opinion, he is. Yes, I’d like the production to be better. He’s had about four sacks wiped off the board due to holding penalties and other crap. Uh so he’s playing better than the stats suggest. And when you look at the raw analytical stats, the pressures and all those kinds of things, the time to pressure, the amount of pressures, the uh run stops that he’s making, he is doing a lot of those things. It’s just kind of how it is for rookies, especially at that edge rusher position. The production usually isn’t there in year one. Year two, they start to figure it out. Sometimes it takes till year three, but what you look for is the pressures and the downto-down disruption. And I think he’s having that downto-down disruption. And I think he is developing as a player. But I also think how bad this team is is stunting the growth and development of him as a player. And I think it’s doing that for a lot of our players and I think it’s been doing that for years. If this team was better, I think he would have more sacks. If the Giants had a winning record, I think he would have more sacks. I just think all of the losing takes a toll and that’s why we’re looking at things like Scataboo going to a wrestling event and fans are upset about that. These guys are people, too. They’re not just football players, right? They have a life. Carter’s got to get his treatment. He’s got to treat his body right in order to play on Sundays. Cam Scataboo, he’s dealing with a gruesome injury that’s definitely hurting him mentally. At the same time, he’s trying to enjoy his life. Let him enjoy his life. Let these players also be people. I think that’s really important. So, while I want there to be accountability and I want the New York Giants to hold a guy like Abdul Carter accountable and make sure that he’s at those meetings. If he was at those meetings and the media is running a narrative, that’s not cool either. The Giants just need to win more football games though. That’s what’s going to heal all of this. Winning heals everything. And unfortunately, the Giants lose so much that all of these problems just look so much worse than they probably really are. Yeah, I 100% agree. It’s the optics of the situation. If Abdul Carter had say nine and a half sacks, the Giants were six and five or seven and four. At this point, nobody gives a [ __ ] Nobody care. I mean, you you make a you make a point of it. I like that Kafka did actually hold him accountable. Good for Kafka. I mean, listen, last night both George Pickkins and CD Lamb set out the first series, too. So, it’s not like this doesn’t happen. But again, I think it’s just because the Giants are two and nine. Everybody looks for for anything, especially in this media market with social media and everything else. People are just looking for a reason to dog these players. People, you know, when the Giants are two and nine, uh, the media has a hard time talking about the Giants because no, there’s nothing positive to say. So, they need clicks. They need people to to, you know, read their column. They need something. So, what what’s going to draw attention? Oh, Abdul Carter’s missed all these meetings. Oh, Cam Scanniboo is at WWE. Well, the wrestlers folded like the Giants defense in the fourth quarter. Scat can hand himself. Scat ain’t worried about [ __ ] Scat get in there. Scat would have done a moon salt off a date top of the steel cage. Put him in the hell in the cell. [ __ ] it. Who cares? Wrestling’s fake, man. Do you think the Giants would have signed off on that if they thought it was really going to hurt him? All he did was shove a guy. That’s it. Okay. So, again, I don’t think it’s a big deal at all at all. If they were winning football games, this would not be a big deal at all. You know, you know, sucked. You know what else sucked his rookie year? Andrew Thomas. He’s now the best player on the football team. I I I’m not going to panic. I think Abdul Carter is just way too talented. And I think the fact that the defense is so bad against the run, it limits his ability to shine as a pass rusher because it makes the the offense they could just run the football and you’re not in those obvious sack situations as a pass rusher. So I I think as the the run defense hopefully gets better, that’s only going to assist Abdul Carter to take the next step as a pass rusher. But he’s a rookie. I’m not panicking yet. People that are calling him a bust after 11, it’s crazy. It’s crazy talking. He’s not a bust. Yeah, I I Abdul Carter is going to be a really good player. I I think he’s a really good player already. Sometimes you just have to watch the games. You can’t just box, score, watch. It doesn’t I say it all the time, stats only tell half the story, man. He’s played good. And I know Anony’s mentioned this, you know, a long time ago or whatever, and we mentioned for weeks, when you’re playing off man and your corners are 8 to 10 yards off the receiver, how the hell is anybody supposed to get there? This is why I hate Shane Bowen. Can we play a little press coverage? Can we at least play off, man? Can we at least be like four yards off so that they’re not just running five yards out, a little stick, a little post, a slant, whatever, and they’re wide open before anybody can get there because the quarterback’s getting rid of the ball in two seconds. You could have guys that are have free rushes on a quarterback. And if the guy’s just going to turn around five yards down the field and nobody’s near him, it might not even be complete, but he’s going to get rid of the football. So, it’s ridiculous why I want Bowen gone because I honestly think that he has stunted the growth of Abdul Carter. And I think he’s [ __ ] a lot of these guys up and you’ve seen a lot of guys regress. And again, it may not make a difference in the long run as far as a record goes, okay? Because this season’s shot. But I think these defensive players need a defensive coordinator that works around their strengths. We’ve talked about this all year. They just don’t do that. But I am not worried about Abdul Carter whatsoever. He is a rookie. It takes time to get used to the schemes that offenses run. They’re much more complex. The blocking schemes are complex. The quarterbacks are bigger. They’re stronger. They’re faster. He’s had opportunities to get sacks and he just hasn’t brought the guy down because these aren’t college quarterbacks. Again, I talk about he’s a big guy, but he’s still a kid. He’s 22, 23 years old. In college, you’re playing against all kids. In the NFL, there’s men out there that are 28, 29 years old and they’re already fully grown. You know, Abdul Carter is still growing into his body. He’ll be fine. Let him put on five, 10 pounds of muscle in the offseason. Let him get a little bit bigger and get him a defensive coordinator that actually utilizes his strengths and watch the kid shine. I’m not worried about Abdul Carter whatsoever. Uh, with that said, that brings us to the Q&A section of Giants Collective. But of course, this portion is brought to us by our friends at SeatGeek. Um but yeah, I mean tickets should be really cheap now if you want to at least go watch them play. I mean, Jack Nard will probably be back soon. I hope they don’t force him back this week, but he’s gonna you’re going to see him play again. So, if you can go out there and bear the cold and want to watch the kid play, I mean, that was one good thing about going to the Niners games. I got to watch Jack start playing. The only video that I took on my phone the whole day before it died was the touchdown of Theo Johnson. So, went downhill after that. At least I got that on my phone as a memory. Um, age 50. Thank you, brother. Hyatt needs to be held accountable for stopping on the route. Gunnar Alchevky has better pass better pass breakups than Banks. That’s a fact. He’s made a couple of good plays Gunnar on on poorly thrown bowls to break up bowls. Yes, good point. I um I try to give Hyatt I I mean I’m an impatient guy. I think I’ve been more than patient with a lot of these guys in the Giants. I was more than patient with Dave Bowl. I’ve been more than patient with Joe Shane. I was one of the few guys that believed in Jaylen Hy going into the year and just utter disappointment. I don’t know what else to say. But to Anthonyy’s point, I I do wish they would try him in the slot. I I I think I think Hyatt sucks. I I thought Hyatt sucked before the year. I think he sucks even more now. I I’m done with Hyatt. I want Hyatt off the team at the end of the year. I think he sucks. Yeah. I’m going to say we don’t need to try him anywhere. We We just need to try him on the sideline, you know, put him back there because try him on the practice squad. Try him there. Try him on the practice squad. get him off the team. I I think he does more bad than good. He does more damage than he does anything positive to the team, especially when he runs a wrong route and there is an interception as a result. You put a guy like Isaiah Hajins in that situation, I bet you he at least makes a play on the ball rather than stop stopping his route midway through. So, and Hajins great to him. He looked really good. Why wasn’t Isaiah Hajins on this team weeks ago? I have a theory on that and it’s just theory. I think you’re about to say it’s probably the same theory. To me, it’s got to be Dable, right? I mean, because it’s so clear and obvious that this guy should have been on this team. All the fans, all the reporters, the players. I feel like everybody knew that he should have been on this team, but he wasn’t. And when you think about how Isaiah Hajins got phased out of the offense and put into the Dable do house. It just feels to me like there’s some bad blood between those two. And that’s the reason why because as soon as Dable was fired, the first thing Mike Cathy does says, “Let me bring in Isaiah Hajins.” That feels like the writing’s on the wall to me. Yeah. Yeah. I wonder I was trying to think back though like I don’t remember any reports coming out that there were issues between the two of them. Does anyone else remember? But it’s the only thing that makes sense and I I think that’s a common theory going around is that there had to be some sort of issue between them because like Anthony said the second table’s gone and they bring him back and everyone was screaming about Isaiah Hajins who’s only been on practice squads easily could steal him from the NerS or the Steelers like they did. It just makes no sense. Yeah, definitely strange things. I think a lot of I don’t think Dable got along with a lot of people. Honestly, I think that I think that’s a big reason you had so much crap on this. Not that that team’s any good now either, but they did seem to play a little bit more motivated. I mean, considering you’re on your third quarterback of the year and he’s thrown to a guy that literally just came to the team and he had five catches for 59 yards, I think, and made some big catches. He he was he was our best receiver in 20122 once he got thrown in. I It’s It’s kind of weird to me that he and maybe that is a good point. Maybe he got completely phased out. Like like they said, as soon as as soon as Dable was gone, the first order business, get me Isaiah Hajins. Yeah, he was, you know, he was here when Kafka was calling the plays in 2022. So, yeah, he is one of the reasons we went to the postseason. He came at the end of the year and and he had like four touchdowns really quick for us. So, he had a touchdown that in the Vikings game, too, in the playoffs. Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. It just doesn’t make sense. Um Jason says, “I believe the Broncos game loss really messed up the team’s confidence. We were playing with momentum and that loss took the steam out of the team in my opinion.” Yep. We just come off blowing the Eagles out. We had we were blowing the Broncos out. That was the best six quarters of football the Giants have played in years. And then Shane Bone [ __ ] it up. Should have been fired after that game. I That was the That was the wind out of ourselves. That that collapse after that game. That was that was it. Like if we win that game, not that we’re making the playoffs this year, but it might have been a completely different feel to this season. Uh I think the team just collapsed after that. Um unfortunately. Yeah, they went into Philly. They they might have they might have been able to take care of that. I I don’t know, you know. Um Brian, thank you, brother. Shane picks coaches like he picks players. Well, they both came from Buffalo and you know, I guess it kind of made sense. I mean, Dabled won coach of the year. I just Some guys are meant to be coordinators, you know what I mean? He was obviously a good offensive coordinator in Buffalo. It’s Josh Allen’s a beast anyway, but you know, their offense is really good. In defense of Shane, Dable was a very highly soughtafter head coaching candidate when the Giants hired. I mean, didn’t work out, but but I don’t think many people viewed it as a bad hire when they made it. That’s what I’m saying. It’s not It’s just I don’t know, man. I don’t know what the hell happened to Brian Dable. You could just tell he it just wasn’t working after the 40 to nothing loss that went to Dallas in 2023. It’s it’s almost like that was that was it. I don’t know. It’s hard to hard to say. Age 50. Thank you, brother. He says the Giants are keeping Bowen to help tank the season. We’re picking second overall. You trading that pick or you keeping it? Yes. But I’m looking to trade it. Yes. At the very least, I’m looking to trade it. So, sucks. It’s not a great quarterback class, but there’s always going to be a team that trades up for someone they like. Yeah, there’s going to be quarterbacks that from the Senior Bowl to the draft, get that PR and that momentum and shoot up the draft board, whether they should or shouldn’t. Sometimes they should. Sometimes they should, like Dart became a first round pick late in the process. He was a mid-round guy the whole way through. And then other times they shouldn’t, like Trey Lance shot up the board years ago. Somebody’s going to shoot up the boards. Anthony Richardson, that’s a great example. Someone’s going to shoot up the boards and the Giants, if they are picking top three, they’ve got their franchise quarterback. They’re going to be be positioned to get a Kings ransom and trade down with a team that’s going to be desperate for that quarterback. Yep. They’re going to get a gold jacket running back. As long as he’s touched by the hand of God, we’re okay. Uh Germaine Dang says, “Abil Carter is more of a linebacker than edge. He’s playing out of position. We need the right defensive coordinator to put it all together.” He’s an edge. I I think I I still I’m not saying he’s going to be as good as him because he’s arguably the best edge in football. I still think he projects to be a player like Micah Parsons who could play off the edge. Yeah. Personally, I think so, too. I just think he’s got to get a little bit more experience and like like Germaine just said, we need the right defensive coordinator to to put it together. Yeah, that’s that’s the big thing. I really think it is just about experience though because, you know, I even remember when Leonard Williams was on this team, Giants fans used to constantly complain because he would get a whole bunch of pressures but wouldn’t get sacks. If you guys remember that. Now he now he’s left. Now he’s getting a whole bunch of sacks every year. Now Giants fans desperately miss him. Sometimes the players who are putting in the work to get all those pressures are helping the other guys get sacks if they’re impacting the game more than you realize. People just get really caught up on the sack totals. And I totally understand it. Especially when the kid, he wanted number 11. He wanted a number 56. He said he was going to chase greatness. People set double-digit sack expectations on him. Like I get it. But the pressures are valuable. They’re he’s making plays. And the more experience that he gets, he’ll start to finish those plays. those pressures will turn into sacks like they did for Big Cat Williams and like they have for many other players throughout this uh the last several years. So, I just think people need to be patient with Abdul. How how much of an effect do you think that Abdul Carter’s had on Brian Burns this season? I think tremendous especially because he’s not only rushing from the edge a lot of the times like people have complained about maybe Dexter Lawrence isn’t getting a lot of pressure through the interior. I think that Abdul Carter is making up for a lot of that loss pressure that Dexter maybe isn’t getting because he’s doing all those stunts where he’s rushing from the edge and then twisting inside or sometimes he’s literally lining up in the A gap and putting up more pressure on the the guards and the centers. And that’s leaving one-on-one opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t be there for Brian Burns. Brian Burns is getting way more one-on- ones than a player of that caliber should be getting and he’s taking advantage of it. And I really think that’s just kind of a numbers game. Giants have four great pass rushers that they can put on that front. You’re gonna have to double team somebody, but you can’t double team everybody. And even if you’re not getting the pressure, you’re not getting the sack, you’re soaking in a double team, you’re creating a one-on-one for somebody else. And Burns is taking advantage of those opportunities. So, I think Abdul Carter is definitely having an effect on this defense. Bear, thank you. He says, “With us having a second pick and our quarterback, could you see us trading down to a quarterback needy team and getting a good haul of picks for it?” Yeah, we kind of just talked about that. I think if I don’t think we’re going to stay with the second pick. I really don’t because because I do think we’re going to find a way to win two probably two more games just based off our schedule. The commanders are really bad right now. The Cowboys are not very good. The Raiders are not very I think I think we’re going to find a way to win a couple more games and we’ll probably be picking fifth or sixth because we’re going to lose the tiebreaker against a lot of these teams because the tiebreaker is the strength of schedule and as we all know the Giants play a very strong strength of schedule this year. I don’t think we’ll be picking that high, but yes, as we all said earlier, if we’re picking number two overall, they have to be picking up the phone and trying to trade out of that pick because we have the quarterback. Uh you want you want a team that’s desperate to get a quarterback, trade back, accumulate future assets, and continue to build your football team. So, yeah, I think they need to look into that if they’re picking that high or even four or five, they need to look into it. Yeah, without I mean, if you’re going to trade back to six or seven and get your wide receiver, your stud linebacker if you want to and you’re going to get a future first and a second at least, you know, guys moving up from seven to two, that’s a big jump in the in the top 10. So, um, and somebody wants a quarterback, somebody needs a quarterback. So, you never know. And yeah, I mean, they might not look good now, but again, you get into bowl season, you look at pro days and combines, the underwear Olympics shoots guys up the good they have a good combine. All of a sudden, they go from a early, you know, day two pick to an early day one pick. Crazy how much stock is put into the So, there’s a long ways to go. I honestly think the only team the Giants are beating is the Raiders. I I even think Marcus Mariota could tear the Giants defense up without question. and Dallas this time we’re, you know, I don’t know that we’re going to put up 34 against them. Um, but they still might put up 37 against us anyway. So, yeah. I mean, pickins and CD Lamb against Tay Banks. Yeah, right. And Drew Phillips, we’re cooked. Yeah. God hard. Bob, thank you so much. If we stay at two, what kind of hole do we get? If Minnesota wants Well, they’re not going to move up. They They should. McCarthy sticks. Yeah, I I don’t I don’t think they’re gonna do it. No, they won’t give up on him yet. They’ve invested a lot in him. Not just that draft pick, but the fact that they didn’t bring back Sam Darnold. Like I feel like they’ve invested they’re going to I think they’re going to give McCarthy at least another year before they decide. Oh yeah. I know where the Raiders going to pick and I mean they may pick top five. They need a quarterback really bad. Another team is the Falcons. Pennock’s hurt again. I I think that’s at least a team that I don’t know where they’re going to be picking, but I think that’s a team that that could potentially, if they really like the quarterback, could trade up. The Jets, of course, but you know, the Jets are going to be down there with us, though. Yeah, they’re going to be down there with us. Um, yeah, there’s always teams that need quarterbacks. I’m trying to think who else could use a a quarterback. I mean, Pittsburgh could use a quarterback. I mean, how long are you gonna stay there? They’re gonna be picking late, though. You know, they’ll probably make the playoffs or just miss the playoffs. Yeah. I mean, I’m just trying to think of who who’s I mean, well, let me look let me look at Tankathon right now. Let me see. Arizona. I mean, could they move on? I don’t know what Kyler’s contract is. He can’t stay healthy at all. Who who Oh, Arizona. Yeah, Arizona. Definitely. I love could take a quarterback. Yeah, they should. Yeah, Browns will take another one. Yeah, why not? Browns like to collect them. the an outsider team because I’m I’m looking at Tankathon now. They actually have the Falcons pick um the Rams, right? I mean, he’s having an incredible year, but Matt Stafford’s not young. Um if they really like the quarterback, they could potentially trade up for one. So, there’s a lot of team Miami, right? I mean, uh two is not I don’t think he’s long to be the starter there much longer. So, there there’s always teams that could use a quarterback. It’s true. Uh Marcus, thank you, man. Anthony, who do you think the Giants front office draft in the top 10? Caleb DS, Jordan Tyson, Mansour, Delane, Gerard McCoy. Our wide receiver group, defensive group is [ __ ] You forgot Carninal Tate. That’s another guy be in there. Yeah, if I had to place a bet on it right now, if they’re picking top 10, I think they’re either trading down or they’re going to really like Jordan Tyson because I think Jordan Tyson does things for their offense that even Malik Neighbors doesn’t. I think Neighbors is really good at a lot of things. I think he’s an excellent deep threat. I think he’s phenomenal after the catch. I think Jordan Tyson has a lot more size that he plays with. Neighbors is a big dude, too. I mean, he’s built like Jamar Chase. they have like the same measurables and neighbors can go up there and make some contested grabs, but I think Tyson might be arguably even better at it. And I think also Tyson’s allegiance with ASU and Cam Scataboo. I think that’s something that they’ll be interested in too, just adding good culture guys, which is what Tyson seems to be. He seems like to me the early favorite for the New York Giants. I think he would be perfect fit in this offense. Give Jackson Dart a big body to throw to and another playmaker. And I think that’s where their priority is going to be is giving Jackson Dart a playmaker to pair with Malik Neighbors, especially considering Neighbors is coming off of a pretty severe injury and so is Kim Scataboo. So playmaker is going to be priority number one and I just think Jordan Tyson’s going to fit their offense really well. Yeah, I think they’re taking a swing. I said it going into this year anyway, they took a major swing at the defense this off seasonason. I think with the rookie quarterback, you’re going to see them take major swings at the offense. Olega really is a linebacker, but I I do think you want to set you don’t want to [ __ ] up Jackson the way he did Daniel Jones. You’re going to give him every opportunity to succeed by going out and getting him another number two because you know the best teams, the best offenses have two great wide receivers. You saw Dallas and picking Cidi Lamb. You see Cincinnati when I mean when Joe Burrow is healthy, you got Chase and T. Higgins. Uh Philadelphia’s got AJ Brown and Devonte Smith. I mean it seems like they all got two really good receivers. Minnesota can’t doesn’t have a guy that can throw the ball, but Addison and Justin Jefferson are pretty damn good, too. So, uh, you got Nakua and Devonte Adams. There’s a lot of really good tandemss out there. And all these teams you mentioned outside of maybe Cincinnati and Dallas is kind of hanging on the edge there, but they’re playoff teams. So, I think they’re going to go wide receiver in the first round if I had to guess. But yeah, it all depends on what we do leading up to it, though. I could see I could see them trading for an established receiver or that cost a lot of money, man. Yeah, I’m I’m just saying I you know I agree right now if I had to pick I would say wide receiver but it’s not a lock by any stretch of the imagination but I definitely think that’s what they’re going to prioritize helping Jackson Dart as much as they possibly can especially when Neighbors is probably not going to be the neighbors that we know and love early on next year. So that’s that’s going to incentivize them even more so to get a a 1A opposite neighbors. So yeah, I I definitely think we’re taking a wide receiver. if not early in the draft, we’re going to spend big bucks and one via trade or free agency. So, they’re definitely going to prioritize that position in the offseason for sure. Yeah. When you get a guy like Jackson Dart who accounted for 17 touchdowns and seven starts. Yeah. Throwing to like I said, little Jordan Humphrey and um um Bo Collins and Jaylen Hyatt. Uh you know, it’s it’s pretty impressive how many drops those receivers have had on him. Um, you know, I Jack’s Dart’s going to be really freaking good. I I I love putting [ __ ] on Twitter just sometimes to get under people’s skin. And one one of my favorite things about Twitter is people don’t really know if I’m being serious or if I’m trolling. So, I always like to see the reaction because I know when I’m actually trolling or when I’m being serious and people usually can’t tell the difference. That’s one of my favorite things about that. Like when I throw out there, Jackson darts a top 10 quarterback. Was I being serious or was I joking around? People don’t know. This a terrible take you [ __ ] That’s horrible. Blah blah blah. And then of course I go back and why name me nine quarterbacks better than him or name me 10 quarterbacks better than him. You can’t. Who’s the best? Who’s the best quarterback in the you got to get rid of one of the quarterbacks in the NFC East? Who is it? I love doing crap like that. Twitter’s fun for me. It’s entertaining. I wouldn’t say he is, but I think it’s fair to say he’s going to be. Uh, I I I think he’s at least trending that way. Was I being serious or was I being facitious? Nobody really knows. Probably a little bit of both. Little bit of both. There you go. There you go. He’s played I feel like when he played he played I think he’s played well enough to say that he’s capable of being a top 10 quarterback at the very least. Yes. 17 touchdowns in seven games is a lot more than some of the top quarterbacks had. And that’s just a fact. It’s true. So, and again, look at what he’s playing with compared to the other quarterbacks. Yeah. Yeah. I He might be a top 10 quarterback right now. He’s played well. He’s played well. I love him. Just get down, Jack. Don’t Don’t know when to take a hit. Know when not. That’s my biggest worry. And I know I I know Anthony loves that. He loves that he he he uses his head as a projectile. But I uh that’s my biggest worry with Jackson Dard. I like the He just needs to pick spots. Yeah. Yeah. Fourth and two. Go for that [ __ ] Third and 14. When you’re seven yards from the first down marker, just he’s up. That’s exactly right. And I don’t know if I love that he uses his head like a projectile, but I love that he plays aggressive. Yeah. Playing aggressive is important, right? He emulates Cam Scataboo. He can’t do that. Yeah. Like I said, I don’t remember which stream. It was a few episodes ago, some quarterbacks take classes to learn how to take hits and how to fall better. like to a tongue of Aloa cut down his injuries and cut down his concussions by I think it was taekwond do something. Jackson Dort needs to learn how to protect himself better. You can play aggressive. You can be super aggressive. You can run through people, but you got to learn how to run through people. And the way he was doing it in college, you can’t do it in the NFL, but I don’t want him to lose his aggression. It’s what makes him him. It energizes the team. It’s super important to fight for those extra reps and to prove that every rep matters. Every yard matters. You don’t have a lot of players on the Giants playing like that right now yet. Scatoo, you had Dart, you got Burns. Like I said, there’s a lot of players who they’ll comfortably go out of bounds to protect their body. I get it. You should protect your body, but you should also fight. And I love that Jackson Dart. I love I love the team. If I was a player in the team, I would love it. Leadership, putting your body on the line, but long term, I don’t want my quarterback, especially when you’re built the way he is. He’s not built like Josh Allen. He’s not 6’5, 250, built like a linebacker, but he is built like Mahomes. He’s 6’2, 225. Mahomes does that [ __ ] too better than anybody else in my opinion. Protects his body, but he lays hits. He’s really good at it. He should study more Mahomes because that’s exactly what it is. There’s an element to fighting for that extra yardage. What it really is is Jackson Dart needs to learn how to fall forward for yardage and pick and choose one to fall forward, take the hit, fall forward, but he really likes to take the hit and try and keep running. And that’s where he gets into trouble because he likes to hit somebody and expect to stay up and that keeps him upright. that puts his head in like a disadvantageous position. But if he would just put his shoulder down and fall forward for a couple yards, I think we’d all feel more comfortable with that strategy than trying to literally run through safeties and linebackers. I think he’ll get better at it. I’m I’m confident in that. I I just I just hope it happens soon. Jersey Bull, thank you. Says Tiki nailed it on Bowen. Sure, he was aggressive, but it’s way too predictable and teams pick it up. Spencer Rattler called him out, huh? Week four. Yeah, I don’t think he’s aggressive at all either. I I I think he’s super plain. He doesn’t blitz a lot. He sits in that off man coverage. The quarterbacks are 10 yards off the line of scrimmage. They don’t press. It doesn’t look aggressive enough to me. Yeah, he was aggressive at times. Not when he needs to be though. He’s way too complacent, way too scared. Scared money don’t make no money. And we haven’t made any money this year. We haven’t gotten any wins this year. You bet against the Giants and make money. I guess it’s a good way to make it. Jonas Bolt, thank you again. Uh, do you all think if we keep Kafka, it would be hard for him to change this culture as he’s part of the Dable staff? I don’t think so. I mean, I think even with a couple things that we’ve seen him do already, the fact that he said, you know, I’m taking over and this is how I’m doing things. I’m changing, you know, whatever the walkthrough was on Friday. He changed the off day from Tuesday to Monday. He uh you know said he benched players which is unheard of under Brian Dable no matter how poorly they’re playing. Um and he made Abdul Carter sit for missing a meeting. So I think um I don’t think he’s afraid to make changes and do that. H what he brought in Hajins. Yeah. Um and he made Russell Wilson the third string quarterback instead of Jamus. like he definitely I think is doing whatever he can to try to prove that he’s a good head coach and obviously the jury is still out on that but I don’t think so. I think you know if they decide to make him the head coach I think he’s going to have full autonomy over everything. He’s obviously going to be able to bring in whoever he wants as defensive coordinator. We know he still has a good relationship with Wink. And I think, you know, obviously we’re not in the locker room, so it’s hard to really tell, but I feel like a lot of the players quotes about Kofka were very positive. They talked about how he was very calm, how he’s chill on the sidelines. Um, and I and I just feel like without outwardly saying it, I think they like Kofka and think he’s a good addition right now for the interim coach. Um, so I don’t know. I I don’t think that would be an issue. I think that players would buy in. Um, and I think it also proves like the fact that they brought in Hajins right away kind of I think is proof for some of the current players like you know we can’t whatever happened in the past like I’m not worried about it. We’re going to focus on moving forward. Fire Shane Bowen. And this is this is me just speculating but I I don’t think Kofka likes Brian Dable. I Brian Dable took away Mike Kofka’s play calling this in 2023 like what two games in three games in midame against the Arizona Cardinals. Uh I I think that Kovka stayed here because he knew it would look bad in his career if he got fired and he you know he wanted he wanted an opportunity to continue to progress as an offensive play call here. But um yeah I I don’t I don’t think he really he got along with Brian Dable like every other coach on this team it seems. Um, I don’t think that that would be an issue at all, him potentially changing the culture just because he was an assistant under Brian Dable. I just don’t think he’s going to be the head coach. I I think they’re going to go with a more experienced guy next year. That makes sense. Well, with that said, that brings us to the close of another edition of Giants Collective. As always, want to thank you guys and girls for tuning in. If you could do us a favor, if you haven’t done so, hit the thumbs up and subscribe because it helps us out. Uh, you can check us out on Tik Tok, Instagram. You can check us out on wherever you get your podcast. Apple, Spotify, Amazon, and iHeart Radio. Want to give a big shout out to the sponsors of Giants Collective and there’s four of them. Check out Doer Clothing. Check out Mantis Sleep obviously, Sleeper and Segeek as well. We appreciate them. Uh we appreciate you guys. Got one more under the wire. I got Tuno Gati. Gazi says, “Massive respects to New York Giants collectives and all D giants across the pond. Greetings from our entire Italian national rugby team currently in South Africa. Tuto, ought to be happy that fat [ __ ] Dumbo is finally gone. So that’s good. Good to see Tudo and under the gun. I think Blue Badgers got a good comment. I get what some are saying about being calm on the sidelines, but the two most winning coaches for us, Parcels and Cofflin, were not calm. I don’t think there’s a different era. Different era. I don’t think there’s a perfect science, Bad Dog. I think you can have success being guns and the players man, you know, one way or the other. At the end of the day, you have to gain respect in the locker room. And uh you know that I I don’t think there’s a perfect formula. Like a lot of people say, “Oh, you can’t hire retreads or oh, you can’t hire college coach.” No, there’s no perfect formula. Sometimes you hit, sometimes you don’t. Uh I don’t think the demeanor of the head coach is going to be determine whether or not he’s a a successful head coach with the New York Giants. Tom Carlin was a tyrant and then he softened up and they won two Super Bowls. Yeah. All you got to do is watch 2007 America’s game. They talk about how he got calmer and they want him to win Super Bowls. So, Parcels is a different era. The 80s is a different era. Players aren’t built like that anymore. They can’t they can’t take it anymore. They make way too much money and a lot of them are divas and they all complain because everything is stat driven. They all want these big contracts. It’s all about money. Not that they didn’t want to get paid back then, but 1986 is is different than 2025. Um, well, back then that was before free agency, too. So you kind of built a program over the course of eight. In today’s day and age, you have a new team every two or three years. It’s, you know, like I said, the era is totally different. So yeah. Anyway, guys, girls, we always appreciate you tuning in. Uh we will see you on Thursday for Audriana Anthony Entertainment. It’s Bad Dig and Dizzle. Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday. We out. Bye.

Nightmare season? Then what was last year or the year before that? Or the past 11 of the last 14 seasons that we have had a losing record since 2012?
I loved seeing Skattebo on Raw, and I wish that Dart was there too. I can't wait until Dart, Nabers, and Skattebo are all healthy with a better coaching staff and roster hopefully.
The Giants defense is complete garbage, and it makes no sense why Bowen hasn't been fired and Schoen deserves to be fired too. The Giants need to bring in winning players from winning teams and programs.
Bowen is used toilet paper after a night of greasy fast food, hot wings, and a bottle of Gin.
This guy is the entire reason this defense has quit. Period.
Again with the “not good QB class” there are going to be 2-3 for sure. If we pick second or third, we will be able to trade down a bit and land at least 2 day two picks, a 2nd, a 3rd and possibly a 2nd in 2027
Mendoza is argot QB as is Ty Simpson
Hey Baddog kinda looks like Kafka! How bout take his place n fix our team
If Kafkas trying to win and put good games on tape for himself then he needs to fire Bpwen now
Nightmare season take 3
Abdul hasn't looked good NOT because of scheme from what I've seen but because he takes BAD angles and is too small and weak to shed tackles or get past anybody, plus he has grip issues because he misses tackles. THESE are NOT scheme issues. These are lack of effort and intelligence issues. I HOPE a new DC can get his potential out of him but so far his problems are him, NOT the team or scheme.

@Anthony Hyatt or Ereck Flowers which do you hate more?
Come on with excuses for carter & skst..your comments are ridiculous
Aside from the last play of the game. At least this game felt like it had a game plan. I’d be much happier when Bowen‘s gone. Though it felt like we were a little more under control than the previous losses.
We also kind of knew we were getting with the Jamis Winston experience 😂. Though I agree, 100% this is the best offensive line has looked in a long time.
I agree Bowen should’ve went first. Maybe the plan is to get rid of them, but they didn’t wanna give Kafka too many hurdles in his first time being a head coach and a game. I think Bowen will be gone with the next two weeks.
Finally someone said what i was thinking, im tired of the Giants being reactive instead of proactive
the season has been the perfect storm of worse case senarios i was worried about the giants bringing back bowen and its been even worse than i thought it would be and i set the bar very low on this already, they fired dabol before bowen which to me was an utter disaster.they seam intent on compounding this by bringing back shoen as GM lets be clear his QB picks have been drew lock, russell wilson and jamesis i fully acknowledge jamesis is a backup and bigger still he didnt see dart this was 1000% dabol he seamed to favour sanders his last couple of drafts have been good but he missed too many and guys that arent NFL players let alone starters in neal, ezudu, hyatt ,theo "stonehands" johnson and banks but i do think bowens scheme is largely to blame for his collapse and that under the right scheme he could be CB2 but he was drafted to be CB1 so this is a failure even if you can reclaimate him in someway he keeps hudson, neal, singletary and others on the roster a healthy scratch and not cutting them and giving someone a chance to come in and play thier way into the lineup.dabol is 100% gone because he kept bowen and kept blowing late game leads and wins if this team is on 5 or 6 wins as it should be they would be in contention but thanks to bowen they are 2-9 and elminated already.i was also worried about gano returning but i thought hey it couldnt happen 3 yrs in row but it did he also brought back gillan who had been awful admittedly he has been better this year but at minimum shoen should have replaced him with a punter that can kick FG/PAT's to insulate him from this issue shoen continues not to learn from past mistakes.agree with chris the only coach i want to return is briscillo he has got the most out of the OL they have had since 2012 i could also be talked into maintaining continuity by keeping kafka as OC to help dart but i think dart will be fine and possibly better regardless
chris i think your right use hyatt in the slot with his speed they should be running him in slants and posts to split the defence and drag the safeties out of position use him as a decoy if nothing else to make space for others they have totally misused him even if he isnt good enough your telling me they couldnt shift him for a 6th or 7th round pick to someone before the trade deadline now they have to cut him or keep him at this point
i would trade down and a second time if possible and stockpile 2nd and 3rd round picks use those picks on a WR,LB because i dont think okereke is coming back, CB ,OG and they need guys who are minimum year 1 starters which is why i want them stockpile 2nd and 3rd round picks to target these positions early and often i also think they need to consider using a later round pick on a kicker to finally put this issue to rest for 4 or 5 years if possible my first pick i would target a DT/NT to pair with dexy this would solidify the run defence and free up blitzing lanes for burns and carter to exploit under a better DC next year i still want pierce his no nonsense approach is what this team is crying out for
Kafka need to show he is running this team if he wants to be the head couch and the first thing he needs to do is get rid of Bowen and put someone else in charge even if it dosent work it shows he took control and lived or died with his decisions in stead of dying with his indecision.
Shane Bowen is our Defensive Coordinator but our opponents OFFENSIVE coordinator. 😂😂😂😂
Dart is going too keep us competitive in against detriot I think
