A cinematic recap of the Broncos’ dramatic divisional win over the Chiefs | Sights and Sounds

A big AFC West matchup today as the Denver Broncos are at home facing the Kansas City Chiefs. Beautiful afternoon here in mid November as the Broncos bring an 8-2 record into this game. The Chiefs are 5-4. Sundrrenched uh crowd today. Temperature will be at kickoff right about 60°. It is an absolutely perfect day for football and the Broncos are excited about playing host to the Chiefs. Just look at the standings in the AFC West and we’ll tell right here the story. 8-2 the Broncos on a sevename win streak. There’s Kansas City two games back in the lost column. Expect Kansas City to be at their best today. They’re treating this like a playoff game. They’ve known how to go against Mahomes when they played him the last couple years. They’ve made it very difficult on Mahomes. Expect them to affect the quarterback. It’s going to be a situational game. Huge division game, Jim, and you do not want to have a huge game going to Denver, one of the loudest places in the National Football League. There’s a lot of energy in the stands, and we’re ready to roll with a touchback to get things started. Bo steps on the pocket, throws the ball middle of the field. That ball’s caught first down. Portland in between the hash marks. The big wide receiver gets up, palms the ball in his right hand, and points towards the north end zone. So, out of the gun, straight pass play. Nicks near side back to Bryant. They’ve got another occasion to move the chain. Snap is good. Placement down. Lutz has it up and splits the uprise from 29 yds out. Crowd is going crazy defense. I’m just telling you, it is rocking. This is as loud as I’ve heard anywhere this year. Third and 10. They seal the pocket for him as he throws long to Thornton. And that one’s just out of reach. A rise up to Punts to Mims underneath it at the nine. Marvin heads to the west sideline. Breaks contained and here we go. 2530 penalty flag thrown. 40 to midfield. One to beat down the sideline. Caught inside the 25. 68 yd run back. Boy, they missed him. Having him back is huge. You said it, Jim. Kick on the way and Will Lutz is two for two today. This one from 24 yds out. makes the handoff looking now running with it. Oh, he gets walled. Double walop by Bonito one of them and the other Stern. Broncos dig in. Snap placement. Little bit of penetration but is good. It’s a second and two and they’re going to lose a yard right here as Han is brought down by Wazerique. Here you go. Third and three. Bonito trying to break free. Here’s the chase and the throwaway. Who would have thought this? We’ve got a field goal battle here in Denver. Play fake. Mahomes in the pocket in trouble. Now will be sacked back at the 11 yd line. Q Robinson was there for the Broncos and so was DJ Jones. There was nowhere to go with the ball. Big time stop by Denver. Lifts the right knee, takes the snap. Fourman pressure. Mahomes will be sacked back at the 32 yd line. That was Jaquan McMillan and we will head into the locker room tied at sixth. It’s been a tightly contested which we expect division opponents. There’s a third and 14 looking for options trying to get away from Franklin Meyers and throws but intercepted. That’s McMillan with it. Blitz on the way. It’s picked up. Bows in the pocket. Throws the ball down the sideline. That ball’s caught and a big play indeed by Troy Franklin down the Kansas City sideline. Quick throw to Harvey. Harvey with the catch and he’s got a first down inside the 12. Cuts it back off left guard and they try to get a good push and they continue to push and they’re to the goal line and it is a Denver touchdown with a penalty flag thrown. Jal Mclofflin showing you some toughness. Brings Noah Gray in motion. Hand it off to Hunt. tries to bounce out left side and Hunt will be stopped short of the goal line. Now they’re going to say he crosses the goal line. Kansas City touchdown. Still work to be done. Been a good football game. Play fake. They throw a pass wide open as Pat Bryant and Bryce to foot race. Stiff arms inside the 40 and Lutz is perfect from 38. So you wanted a touchdown but you got a field goal with 1250 left in the fourth. Denver bounces back in front. Mahomes in the pocket. Throws the ball caught by Kelsey. runs to a tackle by Hufunka and leaps into the end zone. Touchdown Kansas City. The play blocked. It is blocked. It might have been Frank Crumb who blocked it. Third and two. Low snap fielded by Mahomes. Looks to the sideline. It’s incomplete. Hold on to your seats. 630 left. Fourth quarter. Nick still has it. And he dumps it off to Troutman. up the middle. Harvey first down and room to spare. Snap placement kick on the way and it is good from 54. Money for Will Lutz. Let’s just let’s just listen to this. This place is going to go insane right here. Blitz on the way. Mahal’s deep drop is going to be hit and sacked back inside the 15 yd line. Jaquan McMillan second sack of the game and the biggest so far in this contest. Last two times the Chiefs have had it. Denver’s defense has forced three and outs. Now a drive and a score. Bo find climbs a pocket, throws a ball that is caught out over the 40 yd line and that’ll be a first down. Courtland Sutton, how about you? 14 20 yds on a third and 15. Third and six pass. Got to make a roll of stick. Sutton where they mark him. They give him the first down. Shotgun snapped to Nicks. Nicks looks left, floats a ball towards Franklin. He makes the catch inside the 20 and Franklin comes up with a huge catch at the 25. An attempt of 35 yds against Kansas City. I won’t even mention it. Snap placement. Kick on the way and it is good. They don’t block this one like last year in Kansas City. And on the final play of the game, the Denver Broncos have beaten the Kansas City Chiefs. Oh, Nick, my quarterback. Yeah, we keep doing it, baby. Keep that streak going. Let’s go. Keep going. Second of the week. That’s all we do. Got two sacks and an interception. Not often one of your tackles blocks the field. Five for five. Will L. Great job.

  2. Notice how 2 game balls were given to special teams players!? Special teams can be the difference between knocking a hated rival deeper into debt, and having a heartbreaking loss at home. Give mimms his check. He was unbelievable. And Lutz is the best broncos kicker of all time

  3. Yep, a Dub despite the refs riding on the cheifs team plane and trying to help them win with multiple bogus flags. Did you see Mahomer tryin and get the ref to throw the flag on that last sack by mcmillian? He's all "Ref they touched my head, where is my flag? "
