And I think this means that Mauricio Dubon is safe. It’s safe to say that he’s going to be a Houston Astro in 2026. He won his second Gold Glove in three years. Um he has won two of the first three ever utility gold gloves and he serves a purpose and he’s got a great relationship with guys like Yordon Alvarez and others in the clubhouse. And I think that speaks volumes for your ultimate utility man. Even though he’s not a power hitter, he’s not here to It’s like he said, Craig Beio told him, there are different ingredients to making a cake and sometimes you got to be the salt. Everybody can’t be the icing. Everybody can’t be, you know, he’s got to be that ingredient for that day for that winning recipe. Yeah. So, I’m going to throw a curveball towards you, Brett. Um, with um, Urius uh, being uh, off DFA off the roster, would you be as confident with Dubon staying on the roster if the Astros were to trade for Brendan Don Donovan? I mean, Brendan Donovan is a left-handed bat, correct? And he’s also a utility man, but I mean, mostly second baseman. Yeah. I mean, I don’t see why not because Dubon also can play the outfield. Remember, he’s played every position except pitcher and catcher for the last three years in a row. He’s the only guy to ever do that in Major League history. That’s why. So, I was throwing that out there just because I think that Dubon is pretty safe no matter what the Astros decide to do. uh whether it’s um Prades playing second base very limited or if they go out and trade for Donovan or they they decide to trade uh Walker I think Don is going to have a spot on this team. I think that he is a big um influencer in the clubhouse. I think that hit that relationship between him and Alvarez, that’s pretty important at Clubhouse and I don’t think that you’re going to see him going anywhere at this time while he’s under contract uh from after That.

Dubon is one of the worst run producers in baseball and his defense isn't that great it's the fact he can play everywhere that makes him valuable
You’re forgetting about Geoff Blum, Brett.
Dubon was absolutely atrocious last year! Every time we had men on bases, especially on 3rd and 2nd, he got struck out or hit a dud to end the inning! Trade him and let’s see what we could get for him! Instead of getting better he got much worse last year!
