its hurts so bad

  1. Idc if I get downvoted but mostly everybody was baffled after drafting this man after giving Kirk $180m. What a baffling decision

  2. His career is pretty much over. But we’ll go through the motions and waste another year or two seeing if we can make it work with him. This franchise fucking sucks.

  3. wonder if we draft a QB, wouldn’t hate it

Penix is a tough evaluation before this obvious setback.

  4. I am fully, FULLY convinced they will give Raheem another year based on this. It would be an absolute classic Falcons move

  5. So we are now absolutely cooked at QB.

Whilst serious injuries can happen to any player. Hedging our bets on a young guy with history like his has really cost us.

Before the Kirk deal was bad. Now it’s close to being catastrophic for this team.

These Aints games coming up are feeling pretty bleak.

  6. We won’t be able to draft or sign a QB for years. Fuck it trade for Stetson Bennett and give him a shot for a year. We are gonna have a 1 year QB for the foreseeable future anyways

  7. I fully expected the Penix draft pick after signing Kirk Cousins to blow up in our face, but not quite as spectacularly as this.

  8. Well, I tried to support the decision to draft this man as best as I could. I have been proven wrong. Time for Morris to stay because of this too… (please prove me wrong again on this)

  9. I feel terrible for Michael.

This should be the end for Fontenot. This isn’t bad luck. This is an injury prone player getting hurt again. They mismanaged their assets so dramatically over the past two years and this is the rock bottom point.

  10. Every single decision this incompetent dysfunctional franchise makes is an absolute shit show.

  11. Raheem Morris will come back in 2026 and wear the losses as a certified tank commander. This was the ultimate excuse he needed to stay. FUCK!

  12. Does this mean he’ll miss 2026 as well?

Even though the tear is partial, is sounds like they are doing full reconstructive surgery.

  13. Good thing the team is hot dog ass this year so it doesn’t matter. With a new staff next season we can evaluate how he does. Should be good to go by week 1 and will be a year to determine the future.

  14. Hate to say it, this might be it for him. I hope not, but it basically sets him back 2 years.

  15. Don’t worry guys, it’s completely normal to have 5 season ending injuries in 8 years by age 25. Once he comes back he’ll never get injured again!

  16. This is most likely career ending imo. An ACL reconstruction on his “good” leg. Yeah, i dont see any way he comes back from this as a starting QB. I hate it for the guy but hes not the guy.

  17. It’s sad I may never get to see this guy get his footing and take us to a deep play off run.

  18. What makes it worse is that he was struggling even before the injury so who knows if it’s even worth it. He will be lucky to make it back by the start of the season and that’s just no good for a QB that needs a lot of work.

  19. Like Michael Penix and wish him the best but Falcons need to draft a QB, wish they had a 1st in ‘26.

  20. Just gonna say it… I hated this pick when it happened. An older qb w injuries when we just threw the bag at Kirk? Ive tried to give penix the benefit of the doubt, but he has looked abysmal this season. He had a few good showings, but I never felt comfortable w him at the helm. So do we fire all the staff and find a new qb or do we continue to flounder w the staff/qb we have now

  21. The coaching staff of the Falcons has done a disservice to Penix. I watched him for two years while he led the huskies to the National Championship. He plays best when he has the green light to sling the ball around and deep. My uncle has had season tickets for 40 years and has seen all the greats come into husky stadium including Aaron Rodgers when he played for Cal. In those 40 years, he has seen no one like Penix, how he would so effortlessly throw the ball deep. When he was penciled in as the starter for this year, I could not wait to see what he would bring to the Falcons. I was very disappointed in how this year has turned out. Mostly though, the coaching staff. It’s almost like he was instructed to play conservatively and throw the ball away if under pressure and “keep from making mistakes.” This is not his game. For two years, he thrived at the UW playing lights out and playing injury-free ball. Being forced to play under this abysmal coaching staff, he has to change his game. It’s obvious he’s not comfortable with how he has to play and doesn’t allow him to be himself.
