Detroit Pistons Are Story of the YEAR! Cade Cunningham VERY Impressive & Jalen Duren Emergence!

Man, this is the best story in the league. Detroit Pistons 11th straight win last night, 12112 over Atlanta. Cade with the 2510 and six. Jaylen Duran 24 and 8. Uh, look, they haven’t lost the game this month yet. Um, guys have been in and out of the lineup every single night. It’s been a little bit crazy and they still have managed to win 11 straight and what makes all of that beautiful is that it was only two years ago which they broke that 28 straight losses. Makes the mind kind of hurt thinking about it. um this Pistons turnaround, Lou, let’s start there with how impressed you’ve been by it. Really impressed. And it it starts with Kate Cunningham. I watched this game last night and the Hawks were doing everything they could from going on 120 runs to a 80 run. Constantly getting themselves back into this game and every time they got close, Kate Cunningham closed the door, making big shots, attacking the rim in the mid-range, using his body like this one right here. This is 108 106. This is a Hawks on an 80 run right there on that shot and he quiets the crowd. He he’s been he’s been tremendous and as a team they had five guys in double figures last night and that’s what they’re going to need. They’re going to win by a collective and they when you obviously have a have a star at the helm of that and they have other guys step in and have big nights as well. That was great for the Detroit Pits, especially on the back to back, you know, and and when you have a guy like Kay Cunningham that can score, that can get to his spots, that can use his body to get there, and to have a team have 28 assists, it’s going to be hard to beat that type of team. So, it’s no surprise to me that they haven’t lost a game um in in the past in the past month or so, but a very impressive basketball team so far in this season. Yeah, this has got to be the story of the year, right? 13-2, the top of the Eastern Conference, and it starts with Kade Cunningham and JB Bigger Staff. And I you know how I feel about JB Bigger staff. He got a raw end of the deal in Cleveland. Obviously last year they had a spectacular year. Atinson wins coach of the year. That team though had a lot more talent. That team had a lot more pieces. You look at this Pistons team. It’s Kate Cunningham and it’s a bunch of dogs that just play hard that defended the second defensive rating in the NBA. They play extremely hard. They’re still missing Jaden Ivy who ideally is their second option, their second best player. But Jaylen Durant is an absolute manchild. I think he just turned 22 years old. And then just they have a bunch of guys like Jenkins, Duncan Robinson, Thompson, Isaiah Stewart. They just have a bunch of hard-nosed dudes. I know JB Bigger staff just enjoys coaching. They listen. They’re unselfish. And when you have a closer like Kate Cunningham, you play that hard for 46, 47 minutes, you’re going to be in every game. Put the ball on Kate Cunningham in at the end of the game and let him finish the game just like he did last night. So this team is super impressive. They do it all. It’s they’re not going to blow you away with talent, which is even more impressive to me because you look at the Eastern Con, look at the Knicks roster, look at Philly’s roster, look at Milwaukeee’s on paper, this team’s nowhere near that, and that means nothing because they just go out there and they play hard and they have Kade Cunningham. Yeah. The only thing that worries worries me about Detroit is is their bench and their bench scoring. They they have guys that can that can defend coming off the bench, but they don’t have a lot of guys that can score that basketball. And if you a dynamic team like a OKC or one of these other teams that are deep that can go into your bench and get a lot of production deep in that season, that’s going to be something that can hamper you. So far, they’re topheavy, but it works for them. But I would like to see them get some get more out of their bench. If they can shore that up, if they can clear clean that up some, I think this is one of the teams that can possibly finish one or two in the East if they do that. And what I like, it’s guys like Javvante Green, it’s guys like Ron Holland, it’s guys like this Dennis Jenkins who go out of St. Dan Sandy, it’s ridiculous the the development and just how hard these guys play and how well they defend and they they switch everything. They get out, they get under like they they’re so physical. So, it’s just it’s super impressive because again, a lot of times teams just stack their roster. Look at the Clippers right now like on paper like talent and names. This team is the opposite and they are running away with the Eastern Conference. It’s also two years ago that that was the worst run. Coach of the year JB bigger staff. It’s a pretty cool turnaround and not to also not have been sort of contaminated by that season and just throw it away and you should have a most improved for teams for a team, right? Yeah, we it’s easily this. It’s By the way, do they remind you of anyone like sort of in the embryionic stages of whatever it is this is going to be? Honestly, I just I’ve never seen and it’s early. It’s 15 games in, but I’ve never seen a team where with not that much talent be so successful. And again, I think when you when you have a coach that instills that in you and you just believe and you just play hard, I feel like it’s half the battle in the NBA now. And these guys, no matter what shots are falling, you’re still going to get stops. Like I said, I think they’re two in defensive rating, they’re two in steals, they’re active, they’re athletic, they for they they force you to speed up. So even when they’re having a poor offensive night and it’s a low 90s scoring type game, the Detroit Pistons are probably going to be favored in that game because they play harder and they defend better than you. I don’t I can’t compare them to anybody, but what I do like is that they fit the Detroit mold. Like they play like the traditional Detroit Pistons team. They’re tough. They’re hard-nosed. They’ll fight you. They can score. Whatever you want to do, we down for it. I like the fact that they have the right mix of guys and it and it works for them. And that two-year turnaround is probably one of the most impressive that I’ve seen from any organization in a very long time. I want to see them sustain this and I want this to be something that they can look back on this season and say that we made some real headways and not just be um you know one of those teams that have some early success in a season and then kind of level out. I see them as a team that can go deep in the playoffs, but I like the fact that they just they just Detroit tough. I love that. Yeah, it’s a good point, too, because I feel like they are built for the playoffs, not the regular season, and they’re doing it in the regular season. So, I I I don’t want to play this team in the playoffs. I don’t want to play have to beat this team four times. Like so the fact that they’re doing this in the regular season and they still I’ll take that. I’ll take a dollar on that. Pistons to the moon. Pistons to the moon. Jaylen Duran first time all-star. Yay nay. Yes. Their their record and he’s averaging 21 and 12 Allstar. That’s how you quickly make sure you touch on that. He might be on 28 Olympic team the way he’s playing. Here we go. It’s the whole USA. Nope. I’m going to take a quick break. Wrap things up on the other side. 100 bucks by the way. He He might be actually 22

  1. The pistons team is talented in their own way. The talent metric in the NBA has been narrowed down to just “Getting buckets”. Watch the Thompson twin play defense and disrupt the opp flow on offense and you’ll understand what “talented in their own way” means.

  2. they’ve literally won 11 straight with 1 starter who hasn’t debuted this season and regularly having at least 2 starters out. they won games with CADE out. like what are you talking about the bench having no depth???

  3. Does Lou watch or just get on here and flap gums? Bruh we just won 3 straight games without all 5 starters… you wanna talk about bench scoring? Have you watched?

  4. I forgot who all Lou played for, but did the Pistons do anything to him like any of his teams while he was playing for him to have this much HATE or something??😂.. like I can't really remember if the Pistons did anything to him for him to be low-key hatin on us.. like fr fr..😅

  5. This is just Detroit Basketball. This shit ain't new, we've won 3 ships doing this. Vol. 3 is scary though. We have the perfect coach and perfect leader for this group of dawgs.

  6. 4:10 not that much talent? This team is built like the championship Pistons were from the 80's and 00's. Defense. Passing. Physical. The guy acts like they're a bunch of try hards… and that's it. The dude needs to watch Jalen Duren. He's a beast. He's a 20-10 guy all day long.

  7. You won't be able to keep claiming that the Pistons don''t have much talent if they keep playing with talent. They may be just coming into their talent. Duren is a dog! We haven't even seen Ivey yet. Ausar is an expert defender. Maybe they have more talent than people think.

  8. How can you talk about the bench when the pistons depth is one of the big reasons the streak is alive. Every piston that played last night scored lol. You don’t win 11 straight when you’re missing multiple players every game less you’re a deep team. I don’t care about what it looks like on paper because we can see how it looks on the court, and that is more important. DEEEETROIIITTT BAASSKKETTBAALLL!!!

  9. Uhhh their BENCH HAS BEEN PLAYING!!! JENKINS, HOLLAND,STEWART, DUNCAN, LEVERT, REED, GREEN. They have talent…. and still haven't played Ivey and Sasser!!!

  10. The talent on Detroits roster isn’t as good as other top teams in the East? That’s such a lazy take. Team is loaded with young talent who the national media clearly doesn’t watch play whatsoever. Have won games recently with the 3rd stringers playing majority of the game. And their bench has plenty of scorers especially when Ivey gets back. That’s why they went and got Levert and Robinson. This is one of the deepest teams in the league.

  11. On paper the Pistons have probably the best young talent in the EAST!!! They have the best center and pg and arguably the best defending wing! I'm sorry, when your a team with that kinda talent your gonna win and win a lot

  12. What is chandler talking about they dont have alot of talent….lou wtf are u talking about. The bench won them games for 3 straight games when all the starters were out.

  13. Name an American Center better than Duren? Name an American pg better than Cade… They both will be on the USA because these two will be pillars in the league by then

  14. I Iike Lou Will, but saying the Pistons doesn't have a bench when the bench has won 3 games in a row without Cade, Harris, Thompson, Ivey, Duren(2 games), Stewart (2 games),Sassar is crazy.

  15. Lou showing why he was a career bench player🤦🏾‍♂️ we been winning with our 3rd string. Its funny tho. Lou use to hate on Cade heavy so im not surprised to hear Lou say goofy shit

  16. Pistons are solid but I feel they’re one key injury away from becoming just a good team. I have seen teams go on this streak to start the season and falter around Allstar break.

  17. Defense wins championships, offense sells tickets. I would take bench players who can play defense anyday than players who can only score.

  18. Lou I'm confused, didnt the Pistons just beat the Bulls and the Sixers while missing all 5 of their projected starting lineup? Wouldn't that mean that their bench is….good? You can say what you want about the quality of the Bulls and Sixers, but winnings games in the NBA with 10 guys that were all projected to be bench players is impressive and I'm not sure I understand that hate your putting on them. I'd argue the bench is the reason the Pistons won half of the games on this winning streak….
