i'm watching highlights again from last night after watching the game (i could have been paying closer attention but the new Avatar set come out for mtg…)

probably preaching to the choir here but after our rough start i am back to being REALLY hyped for the rest of the year for several reasons:

– Bane is a dawg. back to his regular season averages after a rocky start and he's really starting to find his role. he was our lead scorer last night! something KCP could never have done. you could really see him responding well any time GS went on a run. he played perfect basketball in the first quarter in particular.

– TDS is a dawg. i mean holy cow, the leap is phenomenal. he's our best 3pt shooter.

– Dell is a dawg. actually one of our most consistent players at the moment imo. i don't wanna put paolo at the 5 like i hear some saying.

– Suggs is fucking crazy lmao. he reminds me a little too much of Cole sometimes with some silly decision making. but a positive, that he shared with cole, was bringing the hustle and energy to the team. i love watching him play even if he makes me nervous at times.

– AB. need i say more? another young player making a great leap. that dunk was NASTY. came from a bane defensive stop and assist, btw.

– AB with big bro Moe is gonna be an INSANE bench rotation, or so i hope. really hope Moe can fit back in seamlessly.

– Paolo back soon. he's gonna have a 40+ game again, mark my words. might not hit another 50 piece cause we have so many options.

– maybe Tyus will actually deliver?? maybe his confidence is up?? fingers crossed

– at this point, i've pretty much forgotten all about firing Mose

around the league:

– nearly beating houston (sans paolo), beating the knicks and beating the warriors (who beat the spurs twice, fyi) is massive

– i respect detroit's win streak, but a lot of the teams they beat suck ass. we lost to them early in the season when we didn't have our shit together.

all that to say: I AM SO FUCKING HYPED. LETS GO ORLANDOOOOO

  1. It was easily our best win. The warriors aren’t the top of the crop anymore but we looked comfortably in control for most of the game against a pretty good team and barely lost to Houston with suggs and Paolo out. We definitely look more focused as a squad

  2. I do not claim to understand basketball, with that said I often wonder do each of these games stand on their own?

Can you judge a team by a game? The Magic played well last night, it felt different last night, but at the same time, the team still has problems that do not seem to be solved overnight.

  3. Great points. I’m feeling great about the rest of this season as well.

I would like to add that the Phoenix pick is looking like it may not be a lottery pick. I was bummed out we included it in the trade for Bane but it’s not looking so good with the suns having zero incentive to tank

  4. Its easy to see the vision of the team. Elite defense and Bane adding an element of offense we haven’t had, while AB and TDS have made strides on offense. The only “issue” I’m seeing is Paolo and Franz, while very good players, haven’t improved much. They seem pretty much the same.

  5. I’m going to get drilled for this but what the hell. Last 2 games, the offense has look pretty damn good. It goes without saying with TDS on the floor the spacing just looks better. There’s better ball movement, he draws defenders away from the lane because he can spot up 3. His basket driving ability has been a surprising.

So the question is, where does Paolo fit? I almost think he’s better coming off the bench. I know that statement is going to cause some blood vessels to burst but come on, how badly does that 2nd unit need scoring? Bigly!!! Having a player of his caliber coming off the bench to lead the 2nd unit would kill the opposing team match ups.

  6. I’m not gonna lie after what I seen against KD & sengun even in a loss , this team has me so fucking fired up like it’s insane we are so close to taking that step even while our bench is as bad as it is at times. I’m so proud of the development of TDS especially since Euro basket this summer he’s so poised to be his age and it gives us another 6’8-6’9+ ball handler , him and AB growth has made me so happy. I’m still a bit sour about Jett like that guy legitimately was a nepo pick if we didn’t grab him at 11 no way he got drafted unless it’s pick 28-32 I doubt it. He’s so bad it’s like we replaced Caleb Houston with Caleb Houston-lite at least Caleb hit his shots at times this guy airballs more than anything it’s insanely frustrating. I’m also a bit weary of tyus and Isaac 15 mil and can’t buy a bucket half the time is insane also WHO told him keep shooting corner threes ? It’s like a bomb hitting the side of the rim 96% of the time. Tyus for as much as he can do, simply cannot do ANYTHING with us for some reason? Idk if it’s role or coach related but dude his defense literally can NOT be better than Jase’s nor can he provide us with something Jase can’t right now. Idk if Jase is ready enough for that role but with how bad tyus been it wouldn’t hurt to try him a couple games. But other than that I think we are in such a great place to become contenders in the east for years to come. Now we just gotta get the NBA to see us that way so they’ll put us in the script some more

  7. I would hope that some doom and gloom people here would learn that you cannot define the entire 7 or 8 month season by the first 5 games. It’s a marathon.

The players are making faster reads, playing quicker, and I’ve even seen some quick cross-court passes, which completely opened up the offense

  8. pretty sure the team sports psychologist has bonus incentives for Suggs specifically lmao 😂

  9. Y’all missing the biggest difference in this Warriors win – the Magic made their free throws in this game

If they shoot low 70% from the line like against the Rockets, then this Warriors game is completely different.
