  1. πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ Shota is back. Triantos and those others likely put on the 40 man for Rule 5 reasons.

  2. Damn. I really thought they would protect at least Birdsell. I really think someone will draft him and just put him on the 60 day while he recovers.

  3. 8 slots left on the 40 man, we still desperately need a BP and at least another starter

With these moves adding an impact bat seems unlikely. I guess they think they can replace Tucker in the aggregate

  4. The only one I’m surprised that wasn’t added is Hernandez. It’s possible he gets picked up by another team. Ramirez was the only shoe-in, in my opinion.

  5. I don’t like exposing what doesn’t need to be exposed – especially with so much space. You can always run them through waivers later.

Someone below points out that rule 5ers have to be active for 90 days – wasn’t aware of that/must be a newish? So maybe that saves him.

Will Sanders (good stuff that never quite clicked, hit a wall at Iowa) is classic “I can fix him” candidate — Jeremiah Estrada part II?

Connor Noland is a junkballer with subpar stuff, but seems like a “knows how to pitch” guy – low ceiling and maybe the floor is too low to be MLB useful, too.

Anyway… even knowing there’s virtually an entire bullpen to fill out, I do not like leaving *that much* room.
