How Did Fox NOT SEE Wemby!?

Darren Fox, clutch player of the year. Not last night. What is up, San Antonio Spurs fans? Welcome to TSR Sports. In a tough loss last night, but we will start winning those type of games in the very near future. Plus, Steph Curry was just unbelievable in the two losses. He was shooting lights out in both games. Even though he was defended way beyond the three-point line, he was hitting everything. That being said, all eyes from Spurs fans right now are on Dear Fox’s performance, specifically the last 70 seconds of the game and the last play of the game. Let’s go and pull up the Twitters or X’s or whatever it’s called these days. This is from Kevin Oconor. Darren Fox bricked three heavily contested pull-ups, got roasted by Jimmy Butler on a cut to trim the Spurs lead to one, and then he fouled Steph Curry, one of the greatest free throw shooters of all time, to give the Warriors the lead. And all that happened in the final 70 seconds. That’s a lot in a short amount of time. But there’s also the last play of the game, which is being scrutinized. San Antonio Spurs down one to the Golden State Warriors. 2.2 Two seconds left on the clock. There’s Darren Fox with the ball. Look up here, guys. There’s Wen BP with his hand up, ready for the lob. Waited to throw it down and take it home for San Antonio. So, be chanting Wend BP all night. That’s not what happened. Fox maybe didn’t see him or wanted to take the shot himself. We’ll never know. I didn’t see a post post game by him. So, unless it’s out there and I missed it, I didn’t see one. But there’s the lob right there. That’s not what happened. And he took the shot. A heavily contested shot and it did not go in. The Spurs lose 109 108. And what I’m seeing from a lot of Spurs fans is this is on Mitch Johnson. Well, in his post game, he did say he wanted the ball in either Wemby’s hands or Fox’s hands. And I agree with that. One of them’s got to take the shot. It’s got to be Webby or Fox unless something weird happens. One of the other guys gets a shot. Webby or Fox. I guess that would have been okay with Lawrence taking the final shot. He hit that big game winner against the Warriors last year, the three-pointer. But ideally, it’s WMY or Fox taking the last shot and ended up being Fox. Now, WMY himself said he trusted Fox to make the final shot in his postgame. So, is this on De’aran Fox? Should he have lobbed the ball to Victor Webmanyama? This is not the first time a Spur has missed our 7 foot forever alien for a lob, and it won’t be the last time. However, there’s no guarantee the lob would have worked. Draymond Green is right there. Granted, he’s much smaller than Victor Wyama. Steph Curry’s there for help as well. There’s no guarantee it would have went in. Plus, with that short amount of time on the clock, two seconds, you got to get that ball up there quick and put it down quick before the buzzer goes off. I would have preferred that over the contested jumper. We are franchise. He’s the guy. Put it in his hands. But it didn’t play out like that. I’ll also say if Fox makes that shot, we’re not even having this conversation today. We’re not. If he hits the shot, we’re all like, Darren Fox, this is why we got him clutch player of the year. Woohoo! Ghost Spurs go, but he missed it. And you know what? Clutch player or not, he’s going to miss those shots. WMY is going to miss end of game shots. It’s going to happen. It’s going to be frustrating. But you know what? They’re also going to make some of those shots, and it’s going to be amazing. And I have to say, in Darren Fox’s defense, it should have never came down to that. It shouldn’t have came down to that last play. We turned the ball over 20 times last night. We should have won that game and the Spurs did everything they could to keep the Warriors in the game and then the Warriors eventually won it. You can’t keep an experienced championship caliber team, Steph Curry, Draymond Green, multi-time champions. Jimmy Butler is of course a great player, too. You can’t leave experienced players like that the opportunities to get back in the game and keep scoring. And they score. It’s just the term is ridiculous. Driving me crazy. Steph Wy Fox, you got to clean it up. You can’t you can’t expect to win games like that when you turn the ball over 20 times. It should have not come down to that last play. It sucks that it did. And now we’re talking about it today. Spurs fans, the last two games have shown us that there’s going to be a lot of growing pains with this team. For us fans, too. Bad perimeter defense, which we saw a lot against the Warriors. A lot of open three-point shots, the turnovers, which are frustrating beyond belief. Mitch’s rotations at times, etc., etc., etc. But while we have those growing pains, stream, and I say this, and I’ll say it again, it is a great time to be a Spurs fan. We had our first 5-0 start in team history this year. We’re 8-4. We could be 11-1. Probably should have won that Lakers game. Probably should have won both Warriors games. We didn’t. But those type of games, I do believe the Spurs will win in the future. Just right now, we have to go through some speed bumps along the way. And two speed bumps we just ran into were called the Golden State Warriors. Guys, drop a comment down below your thoughts on last night’s game. Are you in the boat of blaming it on Fox or are you kind of looking at like I am like, you know what, I don’t like the final play. I don’t like how it played out. I don’t like his last 70 seconds for sure with, you know, the the fouling Curry near the end and bunch of missed shots, etc. But it should have never got to that. It should have never ever got to that. And when our Spurs start playing better and maybe, you know, maybe better part of the better is Dylan Harper coming back. I don’t know. Once we start playing better, then we should not get ourselves in these situations against good teams, bad teams, anybody. Drop a comment, hit the thumbs up if you like to support the channel, subscribe to become part of our awesome Spurs community. I’ll see you guys tomorrow at 3:45 p.m. Eastern for the Spurs versus the Kings. The Kings are one of the most dysfunctional franchises in NBA history. So this should be I hope it’s a massacre. I generally don’t like blowouts. I hope the Spurs blow them up by 50. David Ramen’s number just laying the smack is down on them so much that we see David Jones, Garcia, Harrison Ingram, Riley Ms running wild in the fourth quarter. That’s all I got. Thank you and as always, go Spurs go. and stay.

De’Aaron Fox had a *rough* ending in the wild Spurs vs Warriors game last night! From clutch moments to shocking mistakes, this game had EVERYTHING.Did the Spurs capitalize? Did the Warriors escape? Let’s break down the chaos!

  1. Sometimes ya fustercluck it. Sh!t happens. He's dusting off rust coming off an injury. He is also not used to playing with Wemby. Sometimes we dissect these things from an armchair with hindsight and frame by frame in the weird lab that is the internet…. but in the moment he's got literal fractions of a second. When you don't have time to think, you fall back on training. He hasn't had time to oil up those gears again. He'll get there. Passion is great, but these are also humans. Lets keep a level head about it.

Besides, turnovers have been the bigger and more consistent issue.

  2. I agree TSR, but the majority of the growing pains gonna be with the coach!!! Stephen Castle is not a point guard and you don't even utilize Jeremy Sochan for defense when Keldon Johnson is not making a shot or having a bad game.

  3. I think a lot of fans are just overreacting. Wemby and Fox had comparable shooting nights and both deserved the right to take the final shot. The moral of the story is we’re super undisciplined, turning the ball over and the communication breakdowns on D are costing us against good teams. We’ll be fine, especially when we get Harper back leading the bench unit.

  4. I agree with you, in the last play it wasn't Fox's fault, he was trying to be clutch as he always was, the shot just didn't fall and it is what it is. Remember last year's game against the Hornets when they took away Fox's supposedly game winner. BTW it shouldn't just be Wemby or Fox, you can have the ball in Castle's hands as well.

  5. Da Problem was never should came to that we had BS calls by the refs . They allowed Green to hold Wemby all game long N that dunk they waived off should of counted and free throw. N that final play of Curry he literally ran into Swipa Fox for bullshit call. Plus that white boi who hit 3 three pointers in 4th was difference. Dubbs won't b winning unless Curry scores 40 plus every game N da refs give em all da calls. Wait till SG plays OKC, Denver or Fakerz guarantee they won't get these calls

  6. Bro you dont need to lob to Wemby. Bonehead Mitch can draw up a play for a layup because that's all you need and GSW's dont have trees like other teams so it makes much more sense for him to have the last shot. But ofc with lack of experience, Mitch doesnt know these things including his coaching staff.

Fox is getting all the heat because he took that shot. That's what comes with it. Those shots come with all the praise and all the heat. And if he misses more than makes them, he's getting roasted. As a dubs fan, I even felt cheated the last shot didnt go to Wemby. Fire your bonehead coach, no cap. By the way Spurs are #2 this season so im rooting for yall unless they play my dubs but yeah, Mitch sux ahh.

  7. On the picture you see Barnes and Vassel sitting on the line, and no golden state player guarding them, they were doubling on Fox and Victor, this i the PROBLEM.Sick and tired to see these guys sitting on the line.Specially Vassel. It's on Mitch, not on Fox

  8. Lakers fan here. I watched this game and thought to myself that De'Aaron did't get the memo about who's team it was. Bad EGO move at the end.

  9. I agree with you assessment. 2.2sec might not have been long enough for the lob dunk. The turnovers are killing me. Wemby has to stop putting the ball on the floor when he gets it outside the three point line, and is guarded by a smaller guy.

  10. Fox is always a hero ball player. Last season all he had to do was not foul playing the pistons up by 4 with 3.1 seconds left. He fouls Jaden Ivey and pistons win. Mike brown fired the next day. Don’t get me wrong, he can score but he is not it.

  11. They got more time to execute than the game winner of Wiggins in Heat VS Cavs game. Damn these Spur's coaches choking on clutch plays every damn time.

  12. A shame because Fox had a pretty good game, except in the last 2 minutes :
    🔸 Bad pass turnover

    🔸 Missed floater

    🔸 Missed pull-up 22’

    🔸 Missed 17’ jumper

🔸 Fouled Steph on a jumper

    🔸 Missed pull-up 18’
Fox sold the game in the end
