Yesterday you had said um you know that you know be out about two weeks. Yeah. So just I mean it was that sort of I mean best case scenario would be he it wasn’t as bad and he’d be back right away but actually it wasn’t as bad like we thought it could be worse. So yeah it’s I thought it was actually pretty good news. Um just what kind of what he’s not a guy who walks off the court like that and and is out for a length of time. Just kind of where was he at in terms of just mentally I think he was fine. And I mean, I think he obviously uh my guess was going into it, he was probably worried. And um you know, the news was good, so I you know, I thought he was in pretty good spirits about it. You know, overall, obviously, you don’t want to miss games. You don’t want to miss multiple games. Uh but, you know, it happens and when you do, you just got to adjust uh both him and us. Yeah. I mean, obviously you got to be careful with that because we want them to be back. You know, it’s the strains are interesting. You can’t take time off and you can’t work too hard either. Uh, you know, they’ve learned now, you know, back in the old days, you had a strain, they’ve told you to rest. That we’ve learned that’s actually the worst thing you can do with a strain. Uh, but then you can’t overwork it either. So, there’s a fine line that, you know, the guys upstairs know exactly what they’re doing. And I’m pretty confident we’ll get it right. a number of bigname players around the state the whole league. I have no idea. Uh I’ve heard a lot, you know, um there are a lot of games at this stretch and I don’t know if it’s due to the uh inseason tournament or whatever. It just feels like we we what do we play uh six games in nine days or something like that. That’s that’s a lot of games, you know. Um, and so that made the condensed scheduling in that aspect. I think it’s something we have to look at for sure. You know, uh, there’s just a lot more injuries over the last 10 years. To me, that’s how it feels. And, you know, um, you know, we brought all these people from all over the world and I don’t think anything has changed. you know, uh, you know, rest was one of the things and, you know, I think a lot of people believe that hurt us too, you know, where guys are missing games and then playoffs comes and no one’s ready, you know, so we we’re doing something different. Um, and something wrong and I don’t have the answer. Stephen Curry thinks that it’s you guys are just running so much. Yeah. You guys are think Yeah. I don’t I don’t know if I agree with that because if you go back in the 70s and the 80s, every team averaged over a 100 shots a game and it was all movement. You know, if you’re old enough to remember uh the Knicks and uh that team that was straight uh and the Denver Nuggets, all they played was passing game and all movement. So, you know, guys are stronger, bigger, faster, uh they’re more athletic, and you know, maybe tighter. And so, maybe that is true, you know, with this group, but I just don’t know. I’m not I’m not smart enough to know either to know that answer. Before the game in Cleveland, you flat out noniance minutes have not been good. Yeah. Now, you’re going to have non games. Yeah. But it’s different. That’s different. And um it’s a big difference. It really is. Uh because when you have a star playing in the game, you’re used to playing a certain way. And when he’s out the game, now you you play a whole different system in your offense. So, it’s a big difference. I will say that. And so, how yesterday I know was a day of service, today’s practice, but how are you taking these two days? You’re kind of looking forward to that break to just going over that. Just going over uh getting our movement back in our offense. Uh getting the ball moving. uh teaching them when the ball stops where to go. So, it’s not a hard thing to do. You know, stuff we’ve worked on. You know, I thought we had slippage anyway. You know, you have six games in nine days, you’re just going to have a lot of slippage. Uh but we needed this these two days of Giannis was playing. This was important. So, uh it’s not that big of a difference. Miles like you know that the ball has energy and it’ll find you. Yeah, I don’t ever worry about, you know, uh stars miss games and teams don’t score 40 points, you know, you know what I mean? Uh the ball will find the guy, the guys will find the shots. Uh no one’s going to just come in and start averaging 30 and 17. If there is a guy, I’m all for that, too. Um but, you know, it it’ll it’ll find itself. How do you kind of remind guys of that? You don’t have to. Yeah. Yeah. I don’t think you have to, honestly. Some teams you do. Uh I think it’s more when you have that second superstar on your team, you have to worry about that. Actually, more uh when you got a team of guys who just want to play right and rolls, it’s a lot easier in in some ways. You know, I’ve learned that if you have another guy as a big score, he thinks now I’m going to have to really score. Um that’s where you get yourself in trouble. So, how much of the stretch is kind of I guess? Yeah, you know, it’s it’s it’s uh some is getting back to what we should be doing better anyway. Uh some is that I always say the silver lining is we’ll find something out of this that we can go to and then uh when Giannis is off the floor, maybe it’s something we can go to uh or or should have been doing. You know, it’s going to be one of the two and so uh we’ll see. What are you looking at as areas where you need to specifically get better? Pardon me. You said some things you need to get better. Well, just uh we can’t get stuck with the ball. We got to still get to the paint. You know, Giannis is the guy that creates a lot of our offense and and he’s definitely the guy that gets to the paint the most. Uh he’s he’s passing at a careerhigh right now. So, you know, I’ve always said it’s easier to replace points than passing, you know, and so that’s where we’re going to have to get to is uh we’re going to have to create shots for each other. Porter, is he still on track for early December? Is that what they said? I don’t even know. Was a month early. Yeah, I think uh right on track then. Um he looks good. I mean, he he ran skeleton today and he looked good. You know, I told him in our day after injury, they’d say, “Hey, can you run up and down? You run up and down once.” And they say, “Okay, you’re playing tomorrow.” Maybe that’s why I walk the way I walk. You know, um but he’s close, I would say. Not meaning a game or two away, but he’s definitely has more. His energy is way up from two weeks ago. Yeah. Yeah. Obviously, I think that was an emphasis for you. Yeah. But how nice has it been to see him? He’s been great. He he’s been great. He’s um he’s been just a really uh good I don’t know what the word is teammate. Um Mike, everything we’ve asked him to do. And I I gotta tell you, you know, I was never uh like a star. So, I it was easier for me, but this was a guy that got paid a ton of money and took a ton of shots. Though he was on a bad team, it’s really hard to go to another team and say, “Okay, I’m going to go I’m going to do exactly what they say. I’m going to go back. I’m going to cut off cut down on certain shots and I’m going to do it.” And he’s done it. So, uh, you know, every once in a while he’ll get out of it. But overall, he’s been great. And he’s been great on the defensive end as well. That’s it, guys. Thank you. Thank you.
