Patrick Roy had some words for Rantanen #nhl #hockey #newyorkislanders #dallasstars #texashockey
He’s in all kinds of pain. And there is some The New York Islanders and the Dallas Stars met yesterday. Things got a little out of hand after Miko Rantin ran Alexander Romangh into the boards hard. I’m half and half with this one. Does look like Rantin pushes Romangh, but this is a fast game and it didn’t look malicious to me. The league agrees with me, but Patrick W had some choice words for Ranton. He’s in all kinds of pain. And there is some verbal violence going on from the Islander bench. I think my favorite part of all this is Ranton’s reaction. Is he talking to me? I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens in New York in their next meeting. We only have to wait until late March for that
In this episode with Whiskeylung, we break down the fiery reaction from NHL legend Patrick Roy after a dangerous boarding hit delivered by Mikko Rantanen on Alexander Romanov. We’ll cover the incident in detail, explore the fan reaction, and dive into what it says about player safety, coaching accountability, and where the league stands on discipline.
What prompted Roy’s outburst?
How have fans and media responded?
Will this set a precedent for future coaching reactions?

Standing up for his players, good on him.
MSL take note.
I agree. Unintentional. Rantanen isn't known to be dirty and he looked like he felt bad. Hockey is a fast game. Things happen in a split second.
Hope Romanov isn't hurt too badly. Didn't look good. Probably a broken collarbone or shoulder.
they got their payback with the disallowed buzzer beater goal lol
Good on him. If that doesn't light a fire in you. You're dead. Pat Roy is still that dude that went straight to management's face and traded himself.
Patrick Roy should be fined for not being able to control himself. He isn't worthy of being a coach in the NHL.
No one can say "who that crazy coach" just the best goalie to ever play the game….. lol i love Roy
Roy is my boy. Always was and always will be. And my boy has some fire. 🤣 33 forever!
Good to see Patrick still have that fire in him. Loved how he charged up the ice to help Claude Lemieux. That’s what a real teammate does. Patrick is all heart and fire and legendary.
I'm not one for injury revenge, BUT…… once a decade if we get a big fight night I think it's more than fine. Look out at the deadline to see if the Islanders trade for any enforcers/grinders, the Stars have a few guys who can go so don't be surprised if the Isles get some guys to handle themselves in return. Rantanen will have to keep his head up for sure in March though.
This Guy with the Canadiens hat is a total DICK.
It was the dirtiest hit this season. But your Canadian so I can't expect you'll know much about the game
He definitely doesn’t say “is he talking to me?” He’s asking “Am I off?” He wasn’t sure if he got a game misconduct or not.
