Maple Leafs’ William Nylander Bats Puck Into Own Net

got it in but the Blues come back out. Nathan Walker to center dumps it in. Caught by Tavaris. Riley going after it to Sunquist is check. Good cut off on the near wing by Torupchenko. Center to Walker. Oh, the save and the Leafs put it into their own net. That hit off his stick as Walker put it to the front of the net and trying to knock it out of the air. Toronto with an own goal. Amarito Robo Cam. Oscar Sunquist is going to make this play originally. Watch this pass from behind the net. He’s going to find Nathan Walker right there and then the puck’s going to bounce around a little bit and it looks like it’s going to end up on the stick of Knander. Knander’s going to bat it out of the air into his own net. So, this will be Nathan Walker’s credit. There’s the bat right there. I’m not sure where Kelander was going on that puck. Maybe going [Music]

Watch as Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander attempts to bat a puck out of mid air, but ends up directing it towards his own net and slips the puck past Joseph Woll.

  1. How is it not considered high Stick it would have been waved off if it was the other way and leafs scored don't make sense like most things in nhl these days lol

  2. Uh, wasn't that a high stick goal? Does the rules state anything about which team uses it to score on which net? I don't know. … OT goal, I can feel the joyous relief 3,000 miles away from Toronto, parade on Yonge Street tomorrow, all is well. Leaf Nation still wants to make 7 trades (picks and prospects for veterans) by Saturday.

  3. Berube needs under the collar plastic tabs for his shirt, looks like wings curling up on a kid for church on Sunday. Maybe that's a clip on tie. I guess they don't pay him enough for the Shanahan look.

  4. The problem isn't the line-up or coaching. Super negative Leaf Nation, Leafs can't avoid it. Overwhelmed by it. All Leaf Nation could do was scream about being the worst in the East Conference, endless rants, all is lost, when with one win, now they are a mere 4 points (2 wins) back of Division 2nd place Bruins (including 8 wins in last 10 games) with a game in hand, no less. Nylanders high stick own net goal, had he not scored in OT and they lose, protests in downtown Toronto tomorrow, but spared from it now because the sun is shining and they are on a winning streak (1 game).
