Aaron Glenn on decision to have Tyrod Taylor start in Jets-Ravens matchup
Injuries that we have four guys
of note, two guys that will not be practicing today, but I’m I’m sure they’ll be just fine as
the week starts progress. Now to be Harrison and will again I look forward to seeing
those guys come out tomorrow and working on Friday. Also, two other guys, that that would
be practicing. Lino, he’ll be back as windows open. So look
forward to that. And the next person is a z, a z
be coming off his concussion protocol, so he should be clear.
Weird. After the day’s practice, which would be good to get him
back out there when it comes to this game.
Looking at Baltimore, they’re an organization that a
number of people look at and try to emulate because the way
they operate when it comes to the players, we
also do on offense and Lamar and Erica to guys you got to get
rid of watch out for which opened up a lot of opportunities for say in the
passing game when it comes to their defense.
Everything revolves around Cal and roll Quan to really good. Layers. But really meant everything that
we talked about everything that we need to do. Meet needs
to be focused on how we operate how we improve. I’m not going to
sit here and talk about how we got to clean things up,
because everybody has to do that. But it’s more about the Improvement part for us and all three phases that
we have to do a good job of. And that’s why we come to
practice today. So the guys upbeat the look forward
to go out there and practice and I’m we look forward
to getting ready to compete against the raisin. Go
try to watch the game. So any questions All right. Why are you laughing at you? Doing your quarterbacks.
Are you here? Yeah, yeah yeah. Say that on Monday,
talk to both of those guys talk to the team on Monday. So tie rod will be
all started because I wanted to But I told you got before that
the guide the players already knew, you know, I just didn’t
tell you guys that so there’s no strategic about that.
The guys already knew. Yep, yeah, it was pretty my decision but I
always have people that I talk to and just See how they handle situations.
It’s not even about the quarterback to be honestly.
It’s just, you know, just a part of what I do, you know,
doing the week with some, some guys that are coaches that
I trust that’s been missed successful in this league
and and know some of those guys have
been through the process of changing quarterbacks. Some of the guys have been
through the process of being two and eight situation that we
were in and how they handle that and just a number of things, but
it was purely my decision. I felt like it was the time to do. It again had good conversation with
both of those guys and this in these situations are not
always easy, you know? But as a head coach, you have to do what’s best for
the team and I feel like it was best for the team. It was Private, it was private. That’s something that I’m a key
between us. And I think that’s the best way to do it, but he understands he understood
my decision. Obviously, he’s not happy with
the decision in which no one and I don’t expect him to be,
you know, and you know, but he understands. And again, I have
to make a decision as a head. Coach to the try to do what’s
best for this team. And I felt like it was the best decision That’s the way down the road
man. We trying to get ready to win the game. Yeah you know there’s a number of
things mean obviously offensively you want your
passing game to be better and in listening to and that’s
not totally on him. You know, there’s a number of things that
go into that that’s myself. That’s The Ralph’s dextran that’s
dropped balls that’s including him. And at this point I just feel
like, man, we have to do something to get this team,
going offensive in the passing game, and I just felt like it
was time to make that decision. And listen, I do still feel strongly about Justin that that
has not changed. But I do feel like this point that we have to
make a change. Yep. Yeah we all got to be You know
in sync together as far as doing that. So I’ll talk to
everybody that’s involved. I’ll talk to the whole offense. I’ll
talk to Tanner, you know, I looked at myself and what I
can do to help those guys. So it has to be a collective effort and making sure that we do what’s right by Tyrod also
to help them be able to succeed in the situation. We’re playing the Ravens this
week, so tyrants or quarterback. He’s number two, he’ll be number
two, still developing, he still
developing and listen. There there’s a, there’s been a plan
for him from the very beginning and I
wanted to make sure we do what’s right for him. And who knows, you know, we’ll
see what happens as this, you as the season progressed. I’m
not promising anything, but he knows exactly what his role is
when it comes to this team. But I would say right now, What is a starter Chris boy? But on your mind, man. Um, a ton and not just that. Just just
everybody that was involved for the most part. Once I heard about the
situation, and I’m talking about Chris. And, in general,
the first thing I thought about, he just had a kid, and I’m thinking about his wife,
I’m thinking about his kid, and I want to make sure
that he’s okay. And that’s The only thing that really went
through my mind and anybody else that was involved, make
sure those guys. Okay, there’s a process to this, which
I won’t get into, but I’m happy. I’m happy fact
that he’s going to come out of this thing, really, really well. Yes, I have. Yes, I have. And
again, that’s that’s what eases my mind is
that, he’s, he’s in good spirits, his wife and his kid, you know,
they’re in good spirits and And he’ll walk away from this just
fine. Is who you know what? That’s something
that I didn’t even talk to him about and that’s something I
don’t think need to be talked about that time. You know, at
that time, it was more or less Mana. How are you doing? How is
your family doing? And there’s a ton of time to
talk about football after this incident happened. Don’t know. Just yet, don’t know
just yet. But I will say this just talking to him. He felt really a beat. And
again, that’s what I’m that’s what gives me Comfort. You know
that he feels like that. He taught he’s talking that way. Oh yeah, yeah yeah. He’s been a
part of what we’re doing. I mean he comes to the games all
the time. He’s fully engaged to be one of
the top special team players in this league. He’s done a really
Good job of helping, you know the other guys we have and he’s
been a huge part of stig’s development as far as a Gunner
and things like that. So I’m very appreciative of what he
bought the tape. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. here’s, Being a part of this league for
so long as a player and as a coach, there’s a number of
things that I’ve had an opportunity to
witness be a part of experience. See seek advice and The one thing that I do know is
men, when things like this happen, it’s easy for me to have
conversations with but they team is easy for me to
have conversation with the player but it’s always hard to figure
that guy’s of have either put themselves in the situation in
the situation that I could talk to those guys
about. But yes, you absolutely have to address this with the
team because you don’t want anything like
this to ever happen to anybody in your Team to anybody outside
of the building and other teams, but it’s something that you have to
address with the players. You know what? I think it was that Sunday when I spoke to my think it was
Saturday Sunday, but it was really shortly after
it happened. Well after he had a chance to
get when he’s in the hospital and all that, but again, I was just, I was happy to talk about half
the way. He felt the way you sounded that conversation. You like Works your reaction? I
mean that’s a pretty scary. Yeah, to try to gather as much
information as you can and try to let the process way out because there’s a number
of things, you just can’t get up as you’re calling
people. A lot of times, you really don’t get, you know, an
answer from some people. So just a weighted out that the
process take care of yourself and once you get a chance to
talk to the player, it’s all about man. How do you feel
anybody else does involve? How do you feel? And again that was the only
thing that went through my mind. Mind, that that’s that’s that’s a scary situation. And then you start to think
about families and things like
that and making sure they’re, you know, they’re okay, so I’m just happy again that he’s
going to come out of this. All right? Anybody else does
involves comes out. Alright and the family’s. Okay.

What a clown he is. This guy should never have been hired. Fire him. One and done. Bring in Mike McCarthy.
Glenn is screwing Fields on purpose to save his job and the Terrible OC who doesn’t know how to use Fields
Are we officially eliminated from the playoffs? Or is it technically still open (not saying we making it just asking)
Does anyone think Tyrod, is the answer for this mess? Give Brady Cook a chance, what have you got to lose
It's kinda crazy that Glenn lacks a feel for his QB to a point that he talks to his mentors. Then again why would the Jets ever hire a QB centered HC if Woody himself is clueless.
Terrible hire when he didn’t hire experienced OC. Justin should have stayed with Steelers with this coordinator
Get ready to celebrate pick sixes and 2-9
Stop with this tough attitude you 2-8
This QB switch is to try to generate a passing game and give the WRs opportunities to be part of the offense. The time to try Brady Cook could be at the end of the season.
When they signed Fields, I didn't feel like there were a whole lot of other options at QB and was hopeful, but he's clearly not the answer. I think that's how a lot of people felt.
Huh?!🤔 OK. So the Jets will go from Justin throwing 1 TD , Rushing for a TD and maybe throwing 1 INT to Tyrod throwing for 2 TDs , rushing for 1 TD and throwing 2 INTs. 😂😂😂
I thought it was a secret who the starting Quarterback was? Ok let's go chop some wood. Let's go watch some more film. What really stinks is we have nothing to look forward to next year either. Is it me are NY Jets fan's tired of this crap? Look at the Bears, Look at New England, and look at the Jets.
Don't feel this is about winning, it's about throwing the ball to your receivers, to finding out who the Jets shoud keep, at the same time Jets is going to lost more games, anr Cook will play some games too
AG is disappointing as HC. He lied about how he was going to play JF and OC gets no blame? GTFOH.
Taylor will get hurt Sunday. Who he is. If not Sunday, following game
This game will expose Tanner all the way…
For all this losing he sure is jovial. I guess he is looking forward to the draft
Justin Fields last 16 complete games – 25 Total TD, 3 int.
Was he pulled to early in week 6?
In Week 7 he scored 23 points in the 4th quarter.
How does that compare to some other notable QB's including ex Jets QBs?
Sam Darnold last 1 complete game – 0 Total TD, 4 int.
that is not a fluke, in Darnold's last 20 games there is another 0TD, 3 int game.
Geno Smith in 2025 has more int's than TD.
12 Total TD, 13 int, and multiple games with 3 int.
Aaron Rodgers last 8 complete games – 14 Total TD, 7 int.s
Maybe, just MAYBE Justin Fields is not the problem in NY?!
How about another Justin?
Herbert's last 8 complete games – 14 Total TD, 8 int. Technically he was benched in his last game, so only 7 int if we are only counting complete games.
Tua's last 13 complete games – 19 Total TD, 16 int. Averaging more than 1 int per game!
How are any of these guys considered franchise QBs and not Just Fields.
Jets 2025 Defense Records:
NFL record holder for 0 takeaways in consecutive games.
NFL record holder for 1 takeaway halfway through a season.
Will be the NFL record holder for least takeaways in a season all time.
just think about it, the NFL is nearly 100 years old, and they will demolish this all time record.
It's ironic that is seems like it is the passing game, but it the problem is all over, but not the QB.
Jets 2025 rushing stats:
Breece Hall has one game with a rushing TD, and is the only active RB with a TD.
Justin Fields is tied with Saquon Barkley, Bijan Robinson with 4 rushing TD and has more rushing yards and TD's combined than most RB's after 7 complete games.
Should all of these QB's be benched?
Justin Fields week 11 has a higher passer rating than:
Starting from worst
Justin Herbert (44 rating)
Sam Darnold (4 int, 0TD)
Lamar Jackson (5 sacks, 2 int, 5 sacks, Won 23-16)
JJ McCarthy (2 int)
Jared Goff (1 int)
Jalen Hurts (Won 16-9) if Jet defense allow only 9 points, they would be going to the playoffs
Joe Flacco (1 int)
Caleb Williams (68.9 rating)
Jameis Winston (1 int, 2 sacks, 1 fum)
Baker Mayfield (1 int, 1 sacks, 1 fum)
Geno Smith (1 int, 4 sacks)
Patrick Mahomes (1 int, 3 sacks)
Trevor Lawrence (1 int, 80.3 rating
Justin Fields (0 int, 2 sacks, 1 fum, 81.6 rating)
This was Justin Fields 7 complete game and 5th worst rating. The four better games ranged from 99 – 119 passer rating.
New York has already taken his soul. Compared to preseason, Glenn’s brovado is non-existent
