It’s a drill based on what they see on the tape. He’s an escape artist but when he’s moving, spinning, etc he tends to hold the ball away from his body. Go for the sack but always stretch to hit that ball. He’s not running anywhere without it in his hand.
they should hire that dude who parodies NBA players’ moves on YouTube
They should hire my dog when he has something in his mouth that he’s not supposed to have
The dude who played Gimli? Weird, but Tomlin is a good coach.
Imagine that being your job
the Bears hired a giant fuggin asshole to mimic ARod this week

you can’t mimic IQ in the moment, but they can try
This is the type of stuff that great coaches do, and what I’m seeing Ben do this year. All these preparations matter.
Someone tell Caleb they’re gonna try to punch the ball out of his hands
Actually looks like a decent drill. Many times Caleb does spin out with the ball in only his right hand.
Going for the swat there instead of the tackle could be a good strategy.
Yeah, that doesn’t look like how Caleb moves lol, it’s missing the explosiveness and agility. The most notable thing about this though is Caleb spins towards the outside, not the inside. This drill is them practicing for exactly that (to not bite but play the QB to spin outwards). They are putting their body on the outside of the QB so if Caleb spins out, he gets hit straight on and they can attack the ball. Seems like an opportunity for Caleb to burn them by subverting expectations and stepping up in to the pocket. The other thing is, they know the QB is about to spin. What Caleb does well is he sells the defender that he is about to step up in to the pocket which changes their leverage and balance, right before he spins back outside. It’s a lot different when you don’t know what the QB is about to do and it’s going at full NFL speed. You have to believe the Steelers will be being told to be patient when he’s in your crosshairs and not bite on that step up, but that is also an opportunity for the Bears. I’m surprised something like this got filmed and released.
Nice to see someone preparing for our QB instead of just hoping they make us throw the ball knowing our QB sucks
Bears signed RFK to mimic Aaron Rodgers
Good luck with that.
Going for the ball instead of the tackle is an interesting strategy.
Lol good luck with that.
Often imitated never duplicated.
Temu Caleb maybe
Would be funny if they did all this and then BJ makes a whole game plan around immediate throws and checkdowns and heavy runs
Honestly this is a really good strategy! Good coaching by Tomlin. I really hope we make adjustments based on this. I’m sure we’ll have people aware that they’re doing this and we’ll strategize for this.
People in the comments saying this is a non issue don’t realize how devastating this could be, especially with the Steelers pass rush. If they even get one turnover from this that could be enough to swing the game in their direction.
Plot twist: Caleb steps up in the pocket instead of scrambling this week.

That looks like Caleb if he was drunk, I guess.
John Rhys Plumlee’s spin move needs some work.
