[Vardon] Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban told The Athletic the franchise would not try to trade Anthony Davis this season. “We won’t. We want to try to win,” Cuban said Wednesday in an email when asked if he and Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont would seek a deal for Davis.

  4. Firstly, this team isn’t good with Davis anyways. The organic tank might still be full steam ahead.

    Secondly, waving off any lowball offers for Davis right now by saying he’s off the table is the right move to maximize return.

  12. I’m guessing they scoured the AD trade market, learned his value sucks, and Cuban is saying this to a) save face and b) convince teams AD isn’t washed

  25. Cuban should never speak about the team again. His decisions in hiring Nico and selling the team to that family is why this team is where it’s at. It all starts with him

  26. I’m sorry guys I am also a Lakers and AD fan and need to chime in here. AD is much better than he’s shown in Dallas, just needs to get healthy. Why would you want to sell low while he’s still recovering from injury? That’s just repeating the mistake Nico did with Luka. At least I hope they don’t make the same mistake twice. Owners need to give the governorship back to Cuban because they don’t know what they’re doing. He’s guided this team to many playoff seasons for over 2 decades. More success than the majority of nba teams out there.

  28. This means they shopped AD around and didn’t like the value they would potentially get back so they go out in the press saying AD is untouchable and they’re committed to winning to hopefully drive up the price. Cant really see this working tho
