Jordan Davis & More On Facing Dallas Cowboys
you know, it’s an individual accolade, but at the end of the day, it wouldn’t be it wouldn’t mean as much without those guys that I play with. And um not even just what we do on the field, but it’s the juice that they have, the energy, and um the time that we spend together, like that brings me joy. That brings me joy every day to come in here have like the spirit that I have, you know, like if everybody was just moping around and like it wouldn’t be fun for me. And um you know, those guys make it fun for me. And um I enjoy playing this team. I enjoy playing with these guys. I enjoy playing this game because they bring so much juice. They bring and they’re just good people. They’re good humans and um that just bring me joy. Individual accolades come and go, but I really want to make sure that the real recognition goes to the team because I wouldn’t be at my greatest. I wouldn’t be at my successful. I wouldn’t be at my peak without the team. Like the biggest reason why I wanted to change my body and change the way that excuse and change the way that I play is because of the team. I want to be the best player I could be for the team. So, you know, it’s not just for me, it’s just for everybody. You mentioned guys, how do you make it fun and who makes it fun? Um, I think it’s pretty obvious who makes it fun. Um, you know, I got Look at y’all laughing. Hey, look, it’s nowhere. But, um, you know, like just the the things like football is football. Like, it’s a grind. We know we doing this thing for 18 weeks in the regular season. If we have opportunity to go to the playoffs, it’s even more. But you have to find joy in the little things. And whether that’s cracking a joke, whether that’s, you know, I bring cookies every Saturday. Um, y’all don’t see that. But, you know, just little stuff like that, like you have to make this thing fun because at the end of the day, this is a grind. This is an experience. This is the NFL. It’s so cutthroat. Like, you could be here today and gone tomorrow, but the time that we spend now is so important to me because I won’t I I wouldn’t know what else to do. Like, this is all I got. These people are all I got. Like, for right now, while I’m here with my feet at, these people are all I got. Like, these are my brothers. Like I feel that wholeheartedly and that’s why I go so hard about the connection of the team because that’s how I feel like I wouldn’t have that juice. I wouldn’t have had that same drive if it wasn’t for the team. You make the cookies. Come on man. That’s a famous trade secret man. Come on playing details on the cookies. I I told I told enough. I said enough. I said enough. I said enough. Now I will say that you know in light of me being disciplined I can’t have cookies like everybody else. But you know I try. I try. Yeah. because you know it brings joy to everybody. So you know if if you seen the way that Jeremiah Troder goes for the snicker doodles yo you would have thought he was a rabbit dog. He’d be like give me I’m take about four of this to eat. I’m like damn dude say so the rest of people but look just little stuff like that man it just brings joy. It brings it look it’s a smile on your face. Like that’s how I feel every day. When you were drafted here, there was a big veteran presence on this defense and you sat behind those veterans for a few years. When you were kind of just sitting behind a guy like Fletch and just learning, did you see this role that you have now in this defense for yourself in in the future? I did. I did. And I’m when I speak and I say I did, I didn’t mean as a football player. I was still trying to figure my way. I was still trying to find my way. But as a person, as a connection, as a piece of the defense where people gravitate and I’m like just the juice man. Like I call myself I’m juice man. But you know um I always wanted to be that player. I always wanted to be that player. I didn’t want anybody to feel down while they’re here. I didn’t want anybody I wanted the family felt cuz that’s how I felt at school when I was at Georgia. That’s how I felt in high school. And you know it’s a lot the higher you go up in every level you know the connection it kind of gets less and less because you know people got families and stuff. We’re not kids anymore. But, you know, I did have an envision for my for the defense to be connected, play as one. Um, if it was a problem, we’ll solve it immediately. Um, nothing crazy going on. You’re a real one, bro. Nothing crazy going on. Um, like just anything like I just wanted we wanted to be one band, one sound, one heartbeat. And um, like I couldn’t be happier at the defense. Like even, you know, when we’re not at our best, you know, we always have that mindset where we come back and get to work. come back and we’re so passionate about getting to work because we know we can fit that problem. We know we have so much faith in ourselves that you know it’s hard for like teams to beat you know because we were just like we got to get it. We got to get it. We going to fight to the very end and um you know that’s admirable. Like even like we had a situation earlier in this year where we had to fight scratch and claw for a game and um that’s just the way we play and that’s the testament to those guys that we play with because you know I couldn’t do this alone. It takes all of us. Can I can I ask um you’ve been with Jaylen Carter for a number of years obviously going back to Georgia like how how does he kind of uplift the way you know not only you but Mororrow and even Jaylen Phillips on the edge of you know been able to play these last four weeks? Yeah, man. Um JC, bro, we all know the type of player that he’s capable and he could be and he is, but you know, it’s just when he comes out here, he plays with such a ferocious tenacity and he’s so it is it’s just like a different mode. It’s a different mindset that he goes in when he comes at game time. And you know, just to be able to play with him, you know, I kind of I don’t know an analogy that we call ourselves, you know, as a Dline unit, but you know, we all kind of feed off each other. Like we all have different styles of leadership. We all have different styles and roles that we play and what makes us feel makes us although we’re young, we always mention how young we are and you know we always have that chip on our shoulder cuz you know as older we get we still kind of young and um we always want to play with an edge. We always play with a chip on our shoulder and you know those guys bring it every week. Every week and um those are guys I want to play with man like I wouldn’t want it any other way. you know, how he does his thing, that’s cool, whatever. But where I’m at and who I see in this locker room and who that’s what we rocking with. And you know, I don’t really give a damn. Like, bro, like if you can ball, you can play like from here to here to here to here. People didn’t know Moro Jo until probably like last year, like this year. Like Mo’s been the type of worker that he’s been putting in the work since he been here. Hardest worker in this I guarantee you he’s in that weight room right now lifting weights cuz he just that’s the type of drive that he has. He wants to be that type of player and um like this a unit, man. Like that’s a unit. Like I’ll always put my guys first because that’s a unit. That’s how we operate. That’s how we play. You guys got a lot of great athletes like across the board. What does it say about the smarts? Like how cerebral so many of the players are and and how does that translate to on the field? Not going to lie, you wouldn’t be here if you wasn’t smart. Like you have to have some type of level of IQ intelligence to play on this defense, especially with Vic and the way that he coaches his defense. But like Mo, like the play that he called out, you know, I always give him because we call him Coach Mo, but like really like he is a coach. Like the way he thinks, the way he operates, the way he trains his mind, the way he looks at film, it’s like a coach. He’s not just looking at the Dline. He’s not just looking at the linebackers. He’s looking at the coverage. He’s looking at the offense. He’s looking at everything. So, you know, that’s just an example of like just the way that we play and the mindset that we have and the IQ that we play with and just like the film. Like the film, we spend more time in the meeting room than we do any other like place. So like we have to do that. We have to be locked in when we lock the film. With Mo. Was that something like you saw right away that work ethic? Yes. Yes. And you know, I think he plays with even bigger edge because you know he was seven round unlooked, you know, like he had that that drive ever since he got here. And you know, he just Mo is the type of player he’s always trying to improve. He’s always trying to figure out a way to get better. And that’s the type of player I love cuz I’m always trying to figure out how to get better, you know? Like this really doesn’t matter. I got NFC player of the week. Okay, what do we got a game to play on Sunday? Like really doesn’t matter. How can I get better from here? Uh because of who how Jordan Mada and you know Lane prepared throughout the week. You know, they’re the best in the business. So you never expect them to like get banged up and stuff like that. It’s a physical position. It’s a physical position. You know, things happen. you know, Lane got caught like feet got rolled up on and stuff and you know, you got to sit down and rest up and that’s where, you know, I come in to play. So, obviously no secret to the impact that Lane has had on this team and this franchise for the last decade or so. Do you feel like some pressure to live up to to that standard? Lane Johnson has been trying to make a name for this. So, that’s how I approach it. Lane tit shoes already filled in with his work ethic and what he put out there on film. I feel like now is my time to show what I can do, you know, on the right side this year. Last year with the left side, so you know, it’s a big it’s a big uh big test for you this week. And D, you said it’s it’s Fred Johnson. feel like it’s a lot of things. I got opportunity now to show things like on a bigger stage, you know, and you know, uh, execute and play my game. Such as what? Such as what? Like in terms of like what I just feel like I haven’t I just felt like I was waiting for Lane to come back basically. I didn’t try to take over the role. It’s like, okay, this guy’s a starter. Not oh yeah, Fred Johnson’s in there, but Lane Johnson’s coming back. I don’t want nobody to see a uh like a like a like a downstep in, you know, physicality, you know, execution, things like that that Lane does day in and day out. I want people to forget that I’m even on the fields. What do you do you feel better prepared for this summer? Um, no, I was the same as last year. kind of knew what the deal was throughout the week and you know got to step in and uh knew it was going to be a little little spell till Jordan came back but you know knowing Lane how lane attacks his recovery you know never showing when he going to be back so you you’re going to be starting against the team’s biggest rival and game there for them it’s you know desperation game talk about that a little bit no not really just just a game we got to go execute try to you know get this offense going how we supposed to and do my job so when you say it’s time for Fred Johnson, yourself to to show yourself. H how do you keep that mindset without putting too much pressure on yourself to succeed? Just do what I’ve been doing since I got in the league. Got to keep beating the odds and, you know, trying to execute and, you know, show this team that, you know, hey, you brought me back for a reason. Here’s the reason. How has Jeff Scotland prepared you? He’s been preparing me since I got here in 22. Uh he’s just been relentless. uh he already knows uh you know I come to work with a certain uh expectation and that expectation is you know execute with do what I got to do and play you know Fred Johnson physical football and that’s basically what he’s been saying and you know this week is just getting the game plan down and you know making sure all my uh all my boxes are checked off and wait for Sunday in in in uh in talking back in August you said the mental part of the game is where you really grew in Jacksonville right have you seen that benefit during the past 10 weeks Yes, I mean Dville uh you know that heat you know the reps I was getting down there were you know reps that you know initially prepared me for something I couldn’t couldn’t foresee in the future and uh you know uh you know thanks to those guys you know took me to a place where I didn’t think I could go especially in those like crunch moments you know big moments things like that and um you know it just prepared me for what what I’m about to go through now what I’m about to face you know this little stretch you know it’s a it’s a tall tall ass but you know I feel like I’m ready to do And now you were pretty honest back in August that, you know, the reason you left in the first place was the next step in your career was was to start, right? Do you think like this chance here is a chance to show the league, too? It’s another chance. It’s another chance. It’s another opportunity on the biggest stage, you know? Who who who not watching the Eagles play on Sunday, you know? Um, and obviously last year, like I said, I feel like I did enough and obviously that wasn’t the case. So, this time I got another chance to rewrite what I did wrong. How much fun has it been being a part of like the jumbo packages? Not having to rely on It’s super fun. It’s been super fun. I can’t catch it though, but it’s been super fun. Super fun. Uh just go being able to go out there with them guys. You know, every time I go out there, report Lane Wink, Jordan do the little wolf cry and stuff. And you know, it’s uh it’s prior turn now. So, you work on the jugs machine at all? Hell no. I’m not catching no no balls off a jug. I can’t do that. Uh, it’s just fun being out there, you know, being able to tee off and, you know, talk off the field, wait for another opportunity to go. So, those five games last year, how did you feel that having the week to prepare kind of helped you as as as opposed to kind of being a swing guy? I mean, you get a weeks to prepare as a starter is different than a week. Uh, you get a week to prepare as a starter. is just uh you know more reps, more first team reps like I said and kind of you in the mix, you in the walkthroughs, you in the you in the uh you on the field compared to you know you standing behind watching getting mental reps. So it’s just about like you know putting muscle memory to plays that we running and things like that. What ways do you feel like you’re a better player now than last year when you play? Uh just mindset, you know, bodywise, mindset. Uh, I already knew what I was expected to do here and like I’m ready for it now. And, uh, just mindset of, you know, what I went through this offseason to come back here and, you know, what I feel like I left a lot of I left a lot of meat on the bone and, you know, just got to got to execute, do what I do. What the mindset like the mindset just my mindset of like starting like I was waiting for Jordan to come back instead of trying to be somebody that rival Jordan. You know what I’m saying? And not saying like, you know, I’m going to take his spot because that’s not going to happen. But just, you know, the execution, the mentality of like each play, like not waiting for Jordan to come back, like not just do like be average, you know, I want to be better than what I was last year. So that’s what I mean by mindset. Sir, I have a question. Yes, sir. How do you feel today? Uh, I feel amazing. You know, I was just talking about the uh Michelin star really travesty. Um, I don’t know if you know what that is. Okay. Um, but yeah, they they were announced here last night and I want to ask you a known for that question. Okay. What’s that? What was your favorite TV show as a kid growing up? Favorite TV show growing up as a kid? Um, man, tough question. How do you feel? I actually didn’t have a TV. You didn’t have a TV? That’s what I’m talking about. I didn’t have a TV. I was up, baby. I was outside playing until the lights came on. Thank you. Thank you. Um, yeah. I just want to talk about that, man. Seriously, that was a I mean, there were a lot of uh lot of missed opportunities there last night. The mission starting. Which restaurants got snubbed? A lot. A lot. I can’t. That’s just saying, you know, that’s political. I’m friends with a lot of a lot of good uh restaurant owners and uh I’m not going to going to name names. Um but that’s all I wanted to say, guys. Thank you. I got to get my back cut. Ladies first. Y’all know the drill, right? Well, obviously with the loss of Lane, um that’s a big blow, but how have you guys really been supporting guys like Fred who are going to have to next man up mentality? Uh to be honest, Fred knows the drill there. There isn’t much supporting for Fred. Fred knows what’s what’s going on. Uh what we’re going to ask of him and so it’s really Fred’s doing nothing else than what he’s already been doing, being prepared, staying prepared. Um and that’s really a credit to Fred because you really don’t have to do that. But Fred, you know, when he’s number has been called, he steps in and does a bangup job. And so now that he’s starting and, you know, that is a is a major loss, but I think one Johnson can fill the shoes of of Lane Johnson. And so, um, I think he’s going to do a great job, but it’s again for him, it’s nothing new. He knows what what we’re asking him to do, and he’s, uh, willing to accept the job. Jul talked um a bit heading into Sunday night’s game about the third and longs that you guys keep finding yourselves in and that you know seem to still be an issue. Um how do you guys adjust that? How do you prevent yourselves from getting in those third and long situations? Um well stop playing behind the sticks in the first and second down. Um you know just the the penalties that we have been very costly to us. Uh that that just requires focus honestly. It’s it’s something that takes no talent and so we should we’re professionals. We should be I shouldn’t be false starting shouldn’t be holding and all that stuff really adds on to then when we get to third down and we’re just like okay we’re third down and seven or third down and 11 just really unfavorable down the distances to try and trick the defense when they go shoot 11 yards to gain a first down pass. So, you know, we are putting ourselves in a a pretty predictable uh you know, I guess down in distance uh when it comes to third down, but that’s just because of how we’re handling the first second down. We’re not taking care of the business um up front or just shooting ourselves in the foot. So, I hope that answers how do you guys address that? Like, are you we got we got to take accountability first and foremost in the meeting, but then again, it’s the focus. It’s just like that attention to detail at practice. Uh, and then coaching, policing yourself, policing others, um, being coachable, not taking, you know, offense to whatever if it’s a teammate that’s coaching you or if it’s coach coaching. Looking at this Sunday, obviously when you see a team week one and then you see them in the back half of the season, you’re a different team, they’re a different team. What’s the biggest difference you see from the Cowboys on the defensive side of the ball? Obviously, they bolster things by bringing in a guy like Quinnon Williams, too. Uh, they got depth now. They got a lot of good depth. And so especially with uh Quinnon and Clowny being the the new uh I almost call them adjectives. Um oh my god, what’s the additions and uh um you know for us it’s just okay what do they do? How can we take them out the game? Um is it something that we have to worry ourselves about? Like for me, do I worry about what Clowny does on defense or do I worry about my job? Do I have to mix and match the boat to to get the job done? Whatever it takes. But they got depth now and uh it’s it’s gonna be a tough game. It always is, but we know we always know that it starts up front. So, got to handle that first. If I can circle back to Fred. Um I I’m sorry. Okay. Sorry, Zach. No problem. I respect that rule. Sorry. I respect that. I respect that. I was waiting my turn. Um sorry. Um the uh that swing tackle rule during your time here been really valuable and you guys were trying to figure it out during the summer when you acquired Fred. What was kind of your reaction at at the time? Hell yeah. Yeah. I was like, I should never have left. That’s not up to me. Now, now he was obviously hoping um find a starting. Yeah, that was very selfish of me to say, but that’s you asked me. I was telling you the truth. Yeah. No, but it uh he said that this is an opportunity for him to kind of show people who Fred Johnson is. And he mentioned last year he was kind of waiting for, you know, you to come back or it was so so his his mindset’s different. Have you seen a different perspective from him this year in that regard? 100%. Just the way he prepares that hunger. Um even though he’s he he was sitting behind Lane and I, I think this year his his attention to the game plan, his want to know what plays he’s going to be in on or or what plays are different from the week before uh that we that we aren’t carrying over. Uh you know, there are plays that he has to know that you there are plays that requiring us to know a lot more than what we usually do. Then he’s really on it. So, I think just his attention to detail, but the the will, the want to is different. No, it’s gone.

Juice Man in the house
I remember what happened with JC in week 1.
Jordan I hope u get a contract with the eagles because you're a leader. Go Birds
Dang I wish the offense was like this
JD needs to be the example for why you give first round picks some time and not give them the bust label after their first five games in the NFL.
This is exactly what's needed Jordan, never stop this way until the day you die!
The eagles really got some great young men on this team 🦅🤝🏾
I had made it clear to some of my people that Jordan Davis was going to have a breakout season. The vision is well in tact.Keep ballin #90.Do what you do.!!!!
JD is SOOO likeable. I just wanna squeeze his big ole self. Being an elite defender is a huge positive but I think his vibe and personality is what the fans and team love the most.
There's always some dumb ahh cowshit fan in our team videos commenting dumb stuff. Smh can't wait til Sunday. Go Birds 🦅
JD is the most important resign no matter what happens. This energy is always needed!
What a great leader! I hope for nothing but success in all the years ahead. You are blessed… Smile and be happy…
May he be an Eagle forever!

Let's go, Fred! Next man up!
Gotta find a way to keep the Philly dawgs together.
I hope JD is an Eagle forever. Love him.

The Cookie Monster – Jordan Davis
10:38 FREDDY J TO THE RESCUE !!!

JD
We believe in you Fred Johnson
He's our Brandon Graham after BG is gone for good.
How can you have issues with your QB in the building 🏫.. stating, he just wants to win, I bet, if it was Nick files or Wentz, would not be an issue, yes I said this sh""t who leak it!! unbelievable 😡…the defense is legit with big fella..a true leader 💪..
