The 1st ranked Thunder defense (102.7 drtg) is 6.9 points better than the 2nd ranked Pistons (109.6). This is the same difference as the Pistons and the 21st ranked Bucks.

To be fair, as one Thunder poster said, our schedule hasn’t been a juggernaut of competition. However, the number of games has been a lot!
I hope the team doesn’t get use to all the blowouts it’s actually crazy
And haven’t we missed Dort for a few games, Caruso a bit, Chet a few, and JDub who is a solid defender too? lol
Man I love this team
And that’s with us blowing huge leads in garbage time a lot too!
It’s worth noting that these types of stats tend to deflate throughout the year
In 2008 for example the Celtics were at 95.6 at this point in the season ended at 98.9
Or 1993 Knicks 97.9 ended at 99.7
Or us last year we were at like 103.9 at this point and ended the season at 107.5
But fun fact, in relative defensive (drat/average drat) rating last years thunder was 17th all time (post merger) only after the dynasty spurs, 90s Knicks, KG Celtics, 04 pistons, 14 pacers , 2020 bucks, 2007 bulls and 2011 bulls.
But this year so far we are #1 all time (but do expect that to go down)
