Who knew that making victory laps after a 8 game sample wasn’t the best idea? Bane is starting to settle into the magics offense and is looking stellar. 7-3 in the last 10, and we will be getting Oaolo back soon. Once coach figures out how to 1a1b with Paolo and Franz, and have Bane as that 3rd option, we are cooking with fire 🔥

  1. Every season begins to reveal its true nature around the 20th game. There are outliers, sure, every season, but more or less you get a very good sense for where teams and players are about a quarter of the way through the season.

    Also, yeah, this is all Bane needs to do is be the perfect third guy who plays like a second guy because he’s kind of plug and play. Also, the pecking order is a bit cleaner due to Paolo being out, but I don’t think that really matters much. I think Bane just needed some time to settle in.

    anyone that looks at this roster would say sum like “okay, this team has 8-9 good players. get rid of everyone else and bring in some reliable veterans”

    we don’t need more late first round young guys to develop.

    edit: i get that one of the criticisms is that those picks could’ve been used as assets to bring in the reliable vets i mentioned.
    but still, having guy like bane opposed to a guy like simons makes it worth it imo.
    And the magic have done everything in their power to become a desirable FA destination

  3. In April of this year I said that Bane was my dream get for this team and I’m so pumped we went and got him. Those first 5 games were rough for sure, but the shot is falling. The playmaking is unfolding. And how much of a luxury is it to have a 90% ft shooter on OUR team for once?

    He was a pricy addition, but I think the timing and fit warranted paying up a little bit

    Either way, no going back, and I’m excited to see him excel

    Hopefully the Bane-Paolo pnr will cook even more when Paolo returns now that Bane is in rhythm.

  6. I have been VERY critical at start of season on this Bane trade. — really loving the last stretch of games. THIS is what the Magic signed up for. — hope he continues to gain confidence and thrives in our system. I’m back on the Bane train – 😂 Go Magic!

  7. it’s a great trade. I think the concern is going to be how to get Paolo to fit this system now. the defense and Bane have been thriving since Paolo has been out. Not saying Paolo sucks of course, but Mosley needs to scheme differently for him and he needs to buy in. Iso ball and forced jumpers are not the way forward. This recent streak of improved play is due to better ball movement and defense. Bane now has space to attack the rim and that’s been huge.

  8. Even when it was rough you see how he was going to help. My favorite thing he does is the late shot clock creation. We had nobody who could get off a clean jumper in those spots
