Big Woo and his ‘easy decision’ to run it back in Milwaukee

I think it’s reasonable to have mixed feelings about Woody’s big payday. There are questions about his long term health or ability to stay healthy. Not knowing what’s going to happen, I’m happy he’s in Milwaukee for another season. He’s a great pitcher when healthy, a strong clubhouse presence for the upcoming starters, and seems like a good dude. I’m a Woodruff fan and I’m glad he’s with the Crew for another season.
I believe it was easy for him, I also believe the market is depressed thanks to the looming lockout. Either way we get him for another season and I don’t think his “unexpected” payroll addition will change a thing about how the front office acts based on the opportunities we find. You have to hope all of that extra playoff money will pave the way for more spending during a very competitive window.
Hoping they can work out something to make it a 2-3 year.
