Dimino loves the Braves re-signing Raisel Iglesias 👍
I think the Braves ended up on the right side of this deal. Now, that doesn’t mean he’s not going to struggle. That doesn’t mean it couldn’t all fall apart by July. You go, “Oh my god, he’s 36 and boy does he look it.” It could all happen. But you at least check the box of not having to hunt and fish for the closer. He’s done. Again, November that position, one-year deal. When it’s a $16 million one-year deal, like I said, if you had a guy, you go, “Oh, you’re an $8 million closer.” Well, then you’re not elite. 16 still puts you in elite closer territory. I would have thought whether it’s Toronto who Hoffman he blew up or other people contenders I like the fact that he wants to be here and I’ll go back to one thing Brian Snicker told us for the last couple of years nobody in his history around baseball 50 years 50 years he said over and over again nobody has made themselves more available as a bullpen arm than Iasbody not in 50 years has he had a better teammate a better he can go he’s never seen one better. That’s a great sign cuz Brian Snicker didn’t have to say that. He said it over and over again because he couldn’t believe that this guy, it wasn’t even a conversation.

I think Raisel Iglesias does not get enough credit for how absurdly elite he is. Im sure he fell back a bit after his early season struggles in 2025. But as of the end of the 2024 season when I last checked, he had a better career ERA than Edwin Diaz by like a tenth of a run. His name doesn't get put in that conversation, but he has earned consideration as maybe the best closer in baseball. Definitely top 3. I would say he's also one of the more consistent ones. Guys like Diaz have some serious down years. Guys like Clase are going to prison. Iglesias really doesn't have many bad years OR go to prison very often.
