Post-Game | Devin Cooley – 19.11.25

So Devin, a huge game for you personally. First victory as a flame. Team scores a lot of goals. You get a big victory. Yeah. Yeah, man. It was awesome. How exciting is that? That was so much fun. Your thoughts on just on your play tonight. They obviously different times peppered. You guys came back and tied the game up. Um just kind of how you saw things from your crease. Yeah, I thought uh our team did a really good job of like protecting the middle ice and a lot of their shots came from the outside, which makes my job a lot easier. And uh yeah, just our team was just so good tonight. I thought probably our best game of the year and just that helps so much and then when they score it’s like oh yes like you kind of like well you don’t relax you don’t chill out at all but it’s like you kind of breathe a little bit you know it’s like okay now I just dial in and make the saves I need to and then hopefully we should come away with the W and thankfully we did and it was awesome. What’s it like to sit back there and watch those goals start coming in the third period like that? What goes through your head? Oh man. Yeah, that’s uh you really have to ground yourself. So I just like I think I’ve said this before but I just go like nothing matters. Nobody cares. We’re all going to die. And I just like say that over and over and over again. So that way like I don’t get too excited because as soon as I start getting too excited, I’m like, “Oh, this this could be it. This could be the win.” Like we’re playing really well. I’ll start doing stupid stuff and then I’ll like give up dumb goals cuz I’m being stupid. And so if I just keep repeating those words over and over again, it just grounds me and I can just really just stay in the moment and not get too excited. How big a victory was this for not just yourself, but the Flames? Yeah, it was great. It was uh it was it was huge. Obviously, any win that we can get and any points that we can get is is huge right now. And uh yeah, just really excited and really happy for the team. [Music]
