The NBA Has A Kon Knueppel PROBLEM..

on Caniple right now is the rookie of the year. In my humble opinion, he just had 32 points against Milwaukee. Earlier in the week, he had 30 points against Miami. He’s doing it so efficiently as well and leading all rookies averaging 17.9 points per game. And obviously, his main attraction is three-point shooting. He’s averaging 8.1 threes per game. Insane volume while shooting 40.2% from three. and he’s doing it in multiple ways. In transition, moving off the ball after a ghost screen. He’s also had some success on the basketball, off a screen, right into a jumper, even some stepbacks here and there. He’s not just a stationary, you know, floor spacing shooter. This dude is dynamic. You can run him off screens. Pretty much any possible scenario you can think of, he has the potential to catch and get it up right away. And there’s a good chance of that shot going in. So obviously that’s the base of his game because defenders have to respect that shot and as a result that gets him in the paint and things of that nature. But don’t get it twisted. He’s not just a three-point shooter. And this is what really makes me believe that he’s going to be an allstar moving forward sooner rather than later each and every season. We know he likes to score on the perimeter, but you look at his statistics in the paint. During his hot streak in the last six games, he’s shooting 70.6% 6% from the field. Are you kidding me? And overall this season, 63.2% from that area. That’s good for 91st percentile as I’m recording this video. Those two spots are carrying him right now. Efficient basketball from the three-point line and the paint. He’s been struggling a tad bit in the mid-range and restricted area. Finishing at the rim. Immediately when you watches film consistently, you will see he’s starting out as a screener or a ghost screener where he’s slipping to the perimeter. Look at the respect he’s getting as a rookie at the three-point line. That aggressiveness bites the defender in the booty cheeks. It allows Khan to get a slight edge. It’s not a lot, but that’s all he needs. And now you see a superstar trait. He slows up and now the contest goes by. Nothing but net. For NBA standards, he’s not the most athletic, but he counters that by being one of the craftiest rookies in the NBA right now. Again, a nice screen sets him up with an advantage. Now, he’s catching in the paint, but he doesn’t have the athleticism to rise up over the defense. So, he fakes the shot because it was an obvious shooting situation. Fender bites, and then he fakes the pass to the wideopen guy in the corner. And now all of a sudden, he has clear sight on the rim with barely any contest. Now, what I’m about to say is going to sound crazy at first, but let me explain. One of his biggest strengths right now is his quickness. You probably raised your eyebrow or something. I’m not talking about like the Tyrese Maxi Dear Fox speed with the basketball. I’m talking about the quick decision making. He does everything with a purpose off the basketball. If he’s not spacing the floor, he’s quickly screening and making the right decision whether to flare or go to the middle or roll. And he’s doing that immediately. When he catches a pass, it’s the same exact thing. 0.1 seconds, he’s passing to the next guy or he’s driving hard to the rim or he’s just catching and shooting. The ball does not stick to him. And that’s the beauty of Khan Canipple. He really fits perfectly in a team oriented system that is based on ball movement and player movement. He really is a coach’s dream. Although the Charlotte Hornets are going to call plays for him with this type of production, you don’t have to. He’s going to get his in the natural flow of the game. He doesn’t stop the basketball. And because of his size and play style, you don’t have to worry about him fitting next to a certain player. No, Khan Canipo works with any archetype. Whether they can’t shoot, whether they need the basketball 24/7, he’s that perfect connective piece. But the thing about him, he can do that while giving you star level production. That right there is truly one of the most underrated traits to have in the NBA as a star. I mean, just take a look at this second quarter against Utah. They just spammed Khan Canipple as a screener. And if they paid more attention to the ball handler, there’s Khan on the short roll and he makes the right play, makes the right pass. I really do believe a cheat code in the NBA for having an elite offense is having as many willing screeners as possible. most nonsenters when you know their coach tells him the screen you could tell you know they kind of go through the motions. No con you could tell he’s extremely engaged and he knows this is how I’m going to get an advantage and this is how I leverage not being as athletic as everyone else. And you saw again yesterday against Milwaukee the same thing as that second quarter against the Jazz. They utilized him as a screener. And he made the defense pay off of LaMelo’s gravity, whether it was in the short roll or popping to the three-point line. And it’s not just about him gaining an advantage, it’s about the team. He’s a winning player and he’s having a crazy impact. So throughout the entire season, despite the Hornets having a 4 and8 record as I’m recording this video, they actually have barely lost his minutes, only -2. That’s nothing spectacular, but still good to see. And then when you dig deeper into his last six games where he’s averaging 23.5 points per game, 7.5 rebounds as well in his 222 minutes on the court, they’re plus 18. 119.3 offensive rating, 115.6 defensive rating. They are winning his minutes. And then look at his numbers when he’s off the court. just 71 minutes he’s on the bench -29 112.3 offensive rating a huge downgrade and then the defensive rating skyrockets all the way up to 133.1. Also notice that the assist percentage with him on the court is way better, meaning they’re moving that basketball when he’s on 68.3 assist percentage. Meanwhile, when he’s off the court, just 57.7%. to start the NBA season. Everyone thought that Cooper Flag was going to coast to the Rookie of the Year award, but my goodness, we got a tight race. And I’m going to be real, I think VJ Edgecom and Conanipple are the leaders right now. That’s all I got, though. I want to hear your thoughts below. And if you enjoyed, leave a like and subscribe. 1. Watching Kon play like this so early, just tell me he was holding his talent back on Cooper Flagg's behalf. Because the defense is so much better in the NBA and if this is his floor then I am wondering how much room does he has to grow.

  2. Bro he’s our only hope rn Lamelo for some reason is already not playing in games and everyone else is meh. We can’t win a damn game right now to save our lives

  3. The edge in nba use to be super athletic ability, now it is skill and feel for the game. high iq hoops as I like to call it. Look at the best player in the world, the guy can barely run or jump, but it doesn’t matter because Jokic is fucking brainiac with the ball in his hand, or luka. Even look at a guy like wemby who has the outlier human physical tools, he’s an extremely skilled player.

If you watch the last couple games in the ACC tournament when Flagg went down Kon showed he can be a center piece of a team and not just any center piece, he is a center piece that contributes to WINNING basketball
