Envisioning the Mets’ dream starting rotation for the 2026 season
Anthony is back and I feel like
mr. Work on Fantasy Island because he is going to give us
the Mets dream rotation for Anthony. So let’s take a look.
Who do you have? All right, a man. Let’s start at number
five and I have Clay Holmes who
has had a better year than I think a
lot of Met fans thought he did. Look he finished second on the
team in Innings and he was ninth in the National League in.
Tiara was quite a transition for this guy. From
the bullpen even though there was seem to be a lot of
hand-wringing over him and the length of his starts. He delivered for the Mets this
year. So he Definitely has a rotation spot
for me. It coming in at number 4, I’ve got David Peterson. Look, he was really a tale of
two seasons for him last year to be a little bit cliche. He
Raymond, you know, he pitched. Great in
fact, in all early August is he already was two point, eight,
three, things wobbled greatly after that. I think he might
have gotten a little tired. Big Innings jump from the previous
two seasons for him so maybe that was a
factor with more experience. I think he
can deliver big time in the rotation next year. Coming in at number 3. Have a newcomer for a Valdez. He
could be your number 3 – it’s only to break up the
lefties and I’ll show you in a minute here and you’re always
back to back with the left it here. But well I don’t want
to get ahead of myself, but you’ll see in a second Fran bar
delivers Innings at a high level, he’s got the second-most
Innings over the last four seasons in the majors Amon, great ground ball rate. So if
the Mets do really lean into David Stern’s as run prevention
and have a good infield, gloves, then he’s perfect
because he has a very high ground ball rate and he
suppresses home runs all of it. Adds up to a pretty good third,
pitcher, in your rotation and now you’ll see why he’s three
because you come in at number two, is Nolan McClain, I’m not
letting this guy out of my sight, he’s in, he’s in blue and
orange for me a man. Because what I saw from him and particularly in every start, but
his last one was incredible skill. He does something the
elite spin rate. There is something that almost no one
else in the majors can come close to. So, this is too valuable of a
commodity to let going to trade because they will be trading for
a Our a man but they just won’t be giving up McClain to
get their number one, which is the biggest need of this
offseason and that is Tariq school ball.
The Detroit Tigers Ace. I believe the Mets are
positioned uniquely to get him
in a deal. It’s going to cost a lot in
terms of prospect value, but when he’s pitching game, 1 of
the playoffs, Met fans are going to be delighted. And I
think that that is a hard to beat rotation during the regular season, and
the top three guys, particularly make them very,
very dangerous in the playoffs. That is a significant upgrade if
that rotation is indeed, Reality. But I right now, a Mac,
you know what just like clay homes. That’s a solid, five
innings, but we’re not gonna let you face the
lineup. Third time through. Good work. All right, Lefty let’s go. All right,
Keith, let’s take a look at your rotation. Everything is
warmed up, I’m good and my lineup. Unfortunately, I
rotation not going to be as dreamy as his. So. First and
foremost, Sean minaya is back for the New York Mets
under contract. And I think the message is going to hope
that they get the 24 version of
him, not the 2025 version of him, David Peterson was On his list,
not on mine. Goes to the bullpen or gets traded clay
Homes at number 4, I actually think his season last year was
fine. I think you’re okay with him at number four. Number three,
wasn’t on his less code. I Sangha remains in New York. I
know that there are people that want to kick him to the curb,
but when he’s healthier, no, that’s rough when he’s healthy,
he’s got Ace quality stuff. Number two, No Limit clean. I agree. He was
fantastic. Maybe ends up as the Rookie of the Year and
here’s my dreamy pick. It’s
Freddy Peralta he is in a contract season
coming off a year in which, you know, if skeens doesn’t
exist, maybe he’s up for the NL Cy Young. His war was five point
five, which is fantastic. And he’s got a relationship with
Stearns. So, Freddy Peralta is now your Ace. It’s
not as dreamy as Anthony’s, but I think it’s pretty good. All
right, not bad. I’ll take the ball from you. I guess
I’ll be the closer and say, you know what, I don’t know how you
get Pikmin I over Peterson, but that’s your choice. You’re gonna have to live with
that one and sang has gone. All right guys, thanks for joining
us here on. A Honda Sports night.

Like the first one.
No Valdez. He’s a BAD SEED. Don’t need any more machismo. Put Peralta at 3 instead and Anthony is good
Wow. Yeah I’m a believer. I like that first rotation. Skubal, McLean, Valdez and with Holmes in there too, if we lockdown this bullpen with Diaz and Suarez and that Yankee guy? Get Alonso back and one or two other bats like shwarber and bellinger? We might just be 2026 ws champs
I had high hopes the time the Mets had Harvey, deGrom, Thor, and Matz would lead the rotation for 5-6 years
1. Tarik Skubal
2. Nolan McLean
3. Dylan Cease
4. David Peterson
5. Sean Manaea
6. Clay Holmes
Don't need to overpay and sell the farm for one year of Skubal.
Clay Holmes was a disaster from July on.
Isn’t Valdez a malcontent. No thanks.
Skubal with a solid pen would bring a World Series to Queens
That second rotation lands us in cancun
Oh I prefer the first one 😂
Skubal (Tong/Sproat gets traded for Skubal)
King
McLean
Peterson
Holmes
Manaea if they go 6 man rotation.
Senga likely gets traded as well.
Love it anthony!
How about :
1. Skubal
2. McLean
3. deGrom
4. Holmes
5. Sproat
6. Scott
@snytv you cant put nolan mclean as your number 2… slow your roll he pitched 8 games last year… if we only looked at 8 starts with senga… he would be our ace… come on he will have growing pains.. he belongs in the rotation but you cant put that much pressure on him
@snytv what did you do with Manaea in the 1st rotation? he earns 25mm… and where is senga?
@snytv this was clickbait thumbnail… you said dream rotation and showed a picture of mclean, tong and sproat and then only mentioned mclean and obviously traded tong and sproat for skubal or peralta
Realistic rotation is 1) framber valdez (not our number 3) he is a bonafide number 2 and eats up innings and saves the pen but we have no choice but to use him as our 1 for now; 2-3-4) is whoever is better between Mclean, senga and holmes 5-6) is Peterson and Manaea (who makes 25mm). we need 6 starters as someone always gets hurt and senga pitches better on 5 days rest and peterson and holmes can pitch less innings and be studs
Skip skubal bring Paul Skeens
No Met fan wants Valdez lol
The Mets will trade Luisangel Acuna, Christian Scott, and prospects Jacob Reimer, A.J. Ewing, and Eli Serrano III to the Reds for Andrew Abbott and Will Benson, trade Brandon Sproat, Hayden Senger, and prospects Carson Benge and Jett Williams to the Tigers for Tarik Skubal and Zach McKinstry, and trade Kodai Senga, prospects Ryan Clifford, Nick Morabito, Boston Baro, and Jeremy Rodriguez, and cash to the Pirates for Paul Skenes, so here's what the Mets starting rotation will look like for next season:
RHP Paul Skenes
LHP Tarik Skubal
RHP Jonah Tong
LHP Andrew Abbott
RHP Nolan McLean
Framber Valdez was extended a qualifying offer AND rumored to want a 7 year contract. I think the likelihood of Valdez signing with the Mets is very slim at best.
