[Matthew Fairburn] Mattias Samuelsson: “There’s some games where we put it together and everybody’s rolling, you see the potential. And then there’s some games where maybe guys are just passengers or not enough guys pulling the same way. Tonight I thought it was a little discombobulated.”

I am loving his resurgence. But these are strong words from someone that they would have 100% applied to over the last 3+ seasons.
Maybe he should help others figure out the process to wake up like he did rather than criticize.
He aint wrong
Ostlund and rosén stand out in part by their sheer hunger, even if they dont score
Somethings it’s the flow of the game and the events that take place throughout the time on the clock and the situation the team is in.
Like last night the Sabres did not play the same discipline game without the puck. Did not play the physical game early like that did vs the Oilers.
Did not have the lead and took to may penalty.
That left the third period to take changes to get back in the game . That opened the door for the Flame to pounce.
Best result was in the last 3 game the Sabres have come back and win the 3 rd period and game in 2 of 3 games.
The organization has shown promise in prospect playing at the NHL level and contributing.
Over the last bunch of game it also proves the coaching staff have done their homework and prepared the team to play. Excusing is in the players hands and given the nature of hockey perfection is never guaranteed. What important is the compete level is there and the game plan was followed.
In a normal situation it takes 15/20 games for teams to come together and get settled in.
That’s a team that has gone through little offseason changes or player out with injuries.
The Sabres are not that team on both of these . The slower start and roller coaster ride would be expected.
Once the Sabres get players back from the IR we should see stability and consistency.
Power looked like he was at an open skate on a Sunday afternoon just trying to avoid running into other people on the ice
he has to be talking about Owen Power, the dude can’t defend, gives you little on offense and zero on the PP.
he’s 22 so he can always improve but we don’t see flashes like we did with Dahlin
Get Krebs outta here today and scratch Quinn permanently
He means Power.
I said last season that he’s a bad player and got downvoted and abused. Had the same this season at the start, but as far as I can see he’s just been awful this season again.
He’s just bad. He has zero physicality, refuses to tie up sticks, never moves his man out the crease and just glides around with no urgency. Useless player who we should trade for a forward.
